excuse me, did I understand that correctly that there's an official Japanese commentary on tears of the kingdom that was made after the game was out and basically stated the reason for the civil war to be gerudo people wanting independence?
I'm sorry, so that means that:
we have an empire mostly populated by animals, actual walking rocks and lightskinned people that just offered a kingdom of almost exclusively black/darkskinned people to obey their furry emperor.
said black/darkskinned people under the leadership of a guy literally called king of thieves who is the worst guy ever (bad enough) rebel and start a war but lose. and after that they just peacefully join the deceased furrymans empire. okay.
no no it's all actually fine because you see some of secondary protagonists have dark skin. so it's okay we portrayed independence as bad and evil.
please tell me I hallucinated that

Geez, this person really went all out with this BS rant against the show/staff. www(.)reddit( lcom/r/RWBY/comments/kiqatg/why_rwby_will_always_be_an_okay_show/
... You know I have been trying to step away from directly addressing RWBY bullshit. But...fuck it here.
If you ever talked to me about how I felt about RWBY, I would say that RWBY pre-Volume 8 has been a touchy subject for me. I felt very validated by two videos, "Why RWBY is Disappointing" and "The White Fang Problem".
Yes yes, and people with parental issues feel validated by their abusive spouse. That means nothing, especially given that one of those videos you mentioned is riddled with bullshit.
"Why RWBY is Disappointing" validated my criticism of RWBYs writing. The fact that Miles and Kerry can't and refuse to take any kind of criticism that doesn't hurt their feelings is complete [insert bad word here]. All criticism is going to hurt your feelings. Yes, you should probably ignore the long winded rants that make themselves out to be self important- why is there a mirror here? But there is truth to all criticism.
And there’s a kernel of truth in the best lies- they’re still LIES.
Not to mention the video you mentioned here (which I am assuming is Hbomberguy’s) pulls the SAME SHIT it calls out. Like say...decrying critics pesonally attacking the writers...while proclaiming Jaune and Neptune as self inserts even though Miles AND Kerry is on the record saying that at least Jaune isn’t written by his voice actor.
I'm currently learning about Branding and how important it is to know your audience. Take self.care breaks, talk with someone you trust. Someone who isn't Miles or Kerry! If your reading this. An outside perspective can help. The reason I say that is because if you two constantly talk to each other you're going to end up in an echo chamber. TALK TO FIONA! She's literally your target audience!
Because hey, a man who contradicts himself numerous times and made personal attacks on the creators that only the most malicious and self righteous do is SOOOO trustworthy right?
Remember that tweet Hbomb brought up in his video as an example of criticism the creators should listen to? The one that demanded Miles get back to work and tried to use the catchphrase of his dead friend to manipulate him?
What a fucking target audience.
I know they mentioned ‘Fiona’ (likely the character’s voice actress) but there’s a supposed fan, one that pretty much sums up the critics, and a perfect example why it gets tossed out.
Moving on, the other video validated something I wish it didn't. "The White Fang Problem" brought to light something I knew was there but either ignored or I wasn't thinking. The White Fang has always made me a little uncomfortable. As a minority, it didn't translate well in my head. The minority are the bad guys. The Civil rights group were the bad guys. I brushed it off for a long time but after that video I couldn't.
Ah huh. So uh, the existence of Blake, Ghira, Kali, Sun, Illa, Velvet, Neon ect. is just incovienable to you huh? And don’t give me that ‘But civil rights group!’- The first episode had them break up a peaceful protest and it’s repeatedly hammered home that the current White Fang doesn’t give a SHIT about equal rights. And no, that concept is not racist- Judging from a story I read, that happened to the New Black Panthers in REAL LIFE.
It became a moral issue. Watching RWBY became a moral issue. RWBY is still pushing right wing talking points.-
Being right of you is not right wing, Especially given how you just acted.
I dont believe Miles and Kerry are racist. I do believe that Miles and Kerry both hold skewed beliefs in what right and wrong is.
Projection.
The way Miles and Kerry treat self defense and protest shows that they know nothing about being Black. They didn't do their research. They didn't talk to minorities about how they were being portrayed. They simply believed that they were right and we were wrong.
Ah huh, ah huh, ah huh-
Monty wrote the White Fang this way. You know, the ASIAN man of FOUR NATIONALITIES. So uh, congrats on saying at the absolute most- Nothing.
Now these two videos are old news. They've been posted on this very same subreddit. But you can't go around and say how much of a progressive and open minded individual you are when the fact that RWBY is a racist show and treats minorities very badly. So no one talks about them.
Or that, as I showed: these videos are bullshit.
Also its kinda homophobic too, not because of Bumblby but because despite Tera and Saphorn being a happy married couple they never kiss on screen. Have you seen happy married couples? Have you seen gay happy married couples? They literally do nothing but kiss. Its cute and adorable and deserves to be spread as far and wide. Despite the show having two straight couple kisses, granted one was in Volume but still, they couldn't get the married couple to kiss? Just saying.
... And not all gay couples are the same, even if I’m sure you’re thinking of TEENAGERS.
You know, judging people based on a preconcieved notion (AKA stereotyping) is pretty fucking bigoted itself...
Watch people be in the comments typing away that this isn't a romance show and how I shouldn't expect romance in an action adventure show despite the long list of evidence to the contrary.
Ah yes, that long list of ONE kiss by a TORPEDOED SHIP.
Such convincing rhetoric.
So you can see I was not coming into Volume 8 with my rose colored glasses. I'm sure many of you hate me because of all my comments, but I don't care. I was ready to leave RWBY. I didn't care. RWBY had taken up so much of my life but I don't care. I was not going to support a show that didn't improve.
Ah huh-
You just came in with jade-colored glass and accepted anything that validated you instead of questioning yourself. You talk about branding but that’s ALL you’ve branded yourself as.
So I watched. And something happened. Something strange. RWBY was moving in a direction I didn't expect it to. Oscar got what he deserved. The Heros were oblivious to the danger that is Salem. Things were headed in the direction that would change the characters forever. It'll be just like Beacon but better. And then they had to ruin it.
Oh we are about to get some real bullshit.
Oscar somehow convinces Hazel to betray Salem. What could have been an avenue to a multi season story arc for Oscar that included the stories villains became a shitty uninspired redemption arc. Kill me.
No he didn’t and this has been something hinted at since Volume 4.
There's still hope for the season but at this point I lost all hope.
Tumblr media
This is the scene that killed Volume 8 for me. Oscar should not be the one who defeats Salem. In fact he should be an avenue to learn more about the villains. He served his purpose with the heroes, now he has a new arc with the villains. Oscar doesn't turn evil, but he's like a conscious. Salem doesn't want to kill him because he can be useful in finding the last remaining relics and maidens.
Assumptions.
Oscar has a heart to heart with all the villains including Salem. Oscar learns to be his own man and accepts he's now one with Ozma but he doesn't have to be another Ozma. He doesn't have to make the same decisions.
Its a great Arc for Oscar. It also makes sense for his character. Ozma feels Salem is pure evil but Oscar can learn for himself.
Headcanon.
But they won't do that. Instead they're going to take the easy way out. Like always.
Bias getting in the way.
Miles and Kerry love wrapping up each season in a little bow. This is why RWBY is so okay.
They say as every RWBY Volumes ends in a cliffhanger.
This is Beacon but if Miles and Kerry thought that RWBY should still be in Beacon. This is Beacon but without major character death. This is Beacon but the main villain loses because the heroes can't lose. Cinder isn't threatening. None of the villains are. Salem is in a Grimm! She should know everything! Why is there no creativity? Why is she not an over powered mess in A GRIMM!? Her own domain?! Why are the writers writing her not as a powerful goddess reaffirming her as a threat but as a human being. Yes I know what that sounds like but hear me out.
‘None of the villains are threatening!’
‘WHY IS THE MAIN VILLAIN NOT BEING TREATED AS THREATENING LIKE I THINK SHE IS!’
‘Why is there no creativity?’
‘DO THE MOST UNCREATIVE THING POSSIBLE!’
How about I keep mocking you?
If Salem can be out smarted by a 10 year old boy, why did it take Ozma so long to defeat her? Oscar should fail. RWBY should fail. They should go through character arcs that help them better understand Salem. Because that's how you defeat Salem.
Pushing your own thoughts onto the show. Also assumptions AGAIN.
I always believed that Ozma and Salem are very similar to Ruby and Weiss. Yes I know how it sounds but it makes sense.-
Too bad your AU fanfic doesn’t matter.
But they won't. Miles and Kerry will use Oscar to defeat Salem. Why? Who knows at this point. I dont know why Miles and Kerry keep pushing Oscar into the spotlight. Its exactly how they treated Jaune Pre-Volume 7. Jaune had to be the focus so often we hated him. And they're doing it again with Oscar
Ah huh. You know, the whole NOTHING Jaune did in Volume 6 was SOOO spotlight stealing, along with his REMOVAL FROM THE CAST FOR SEVERAL EPISODES.
Wanna bet this is another case of ‘penis on screen, me hate’?
They refuse learn and they refuse to improve. If Volume 8 doesn't improve im leaving RWBY. It doesn't matter to any of you. I'm saying it more for myself. So I don't continue with a show that constantly disappoints me. But more so, I don't support a show that views people like me as lesser. If the writing improves it proves that they can grow and get better but if it doesn't it means they will continue to treat Faunus as misguided and horrible characters. And I refuse to support a show that uses my likeness to get brownie points from people who are unaffected by such messages.
A. No, that’s who refused to do self reflection and improve.
B. Should have done that in the first place.
C. No, once again- You blind yourself from the shit that disproves you.
D. You heard him- Treat the Fanaus like shit and make the humans in the right. You know, the opposite what the show is doing now since it’s SOOO horrible.
E. You are not the center of the universe.

Tumblr media
The First Movie actually knew to focus on all four characters as they brought to Auradon and slowly turn good and finally turn their backs to their parents- sure Mal had the major romance plot, but Evie, Jay and Carlos still had their own plots going on and had lifes outside of Mal.
Also D1 was the first and only time we got to see Evie and science in the movies before they decided to throw her into fashion again
But after that? It was like the writers had gone dry of any ideas and just decided to focus on Mal for some weird reason- sure D2 had SOME plots, but this time around.....they were very weak? Carlos plot was just asking Jane out while Jays...was almost a rehash of his D1 plot but this time about rules and nothing changes in the end, sure Lonnie is captain but what about future girls? The men rule is still there! and Evies.....strangely the most interesting with the Isle, but plastered with a bad message: no matter what you do, your still half Isle- that's gross cause its saying the VKs cant deny they came from a abusive place and....need to be okay with it?
Also Escape and D3 butchered Evies arc anyway so.....
But D2 still heavily focused on Mal and her plot off.....running away to the Isle cause she cant handle pressure and cant handle Ben calling her out on her BS when she lies to him and even tries to memory wipe him? And then made her victim of bullying into the bad guy cause the victim wants to free the Isle kids from a Isle of literal trash and abuse? And it didn't convince Mal Ben loved her until she saw a fucking painting where shes in a powerful position above him? And on top of that, she suffers ZERO consequences and made to be in the right to the point she makes Umas anger into just Pride Issues? And then the bad relationship, Ben and Mal, are true love fully cause Mal kisses him.....don't get me started on why the love spell scene here is wrong- I could write a essay on that fucking scene alone- and....that's it? We wasted an entire movie with a unlikeable character!
Its DEFINTELY side-eying that Mal, the white girl, is the main focus all the time now and never suffers consequences for her actions, while her friends, all POC, get side-lined and just made into Mal's accessories- also side note, its ironic that Jay doesn't have magic here, cause then Mal wouldn't be the powerful character, it'd be Jay- Genies are the most powerful people in existence, more powerful then Maleficent, and yet despite Jafar being released from his lamp onto the isle....Jay has no magic- neither does Evie in witch craft cause only Mal can possess magic here apparently.
Its also disturbing that one, Uma with Audrey and Celia are the only three black girls we got in D3 so they somehow all evil now suddenly and two, Uma is Mals victim of bullying and yet Umas the bad guy for wanting to free the Isle children and love spelling Ben......while love spells in general should NEVER be done and its wrong Uma did a love spell, it should be pointed out Uma is the one made into a villain while Mal gets woke points for love spelling a guy and stealing him from Audrey, three, they the ones who have to change according to the narrative or they evil- Uma is supposed to just let go of her anger at Mal and Auradon and since she didn't and still wants to free the Isle children and take down Mal....shes evil, Audrey is made into the evil person for daring to be angry at Mal for stealing her boyfriend and humiliating her in the process, let alone pointing the wand at her in coronation and since shes evil now....shes the bad guy and Celia is also now suddenly evil for....daring to be angry at Auradon and declaring they owe Auradon nothing and Auradon owes them....when Celias telling the full truth, but nope, shes evil too now- like- im sorry, but that's a shitty narrative and shouldn't be a thing.
Its kind of sad Descendants has become this much of a mess and a racist mess, but at this point with rewatching Descendants 1, there was already signs of this with their treatment of Audrey- so at this point, just pray anyone but Disney ends up rebooting this mess.

Thoughts on Hasbro Universe after Revolution
Tumblr media
Im big fan of G.I. Joe/Transformers. But when I heard that there are more than 2 franhises in one universe, it blew my mind. So I decided to check out them. One of them I heard when I was kid.
Revolution was big. For some it was epic, other think it was mess. I understand why ppl love and hate it. Personally I love it. There’s conflict and how heroes unite against evil. It was the beggining of massive universe. So, how it turned out?
To be fair.... not so good.
Its my own opinion. You can disagree with me. If you love aftermath of Revolution, thats fine. I just want to tell about the conclusion of Hasbro Comic Book Universe.
Optimus Prime.
Tumblr media
I think the writer put a lot of his view on life: disappointment on every religion. I really didnt like how he made that Optimus Prime is always wrong. Even when he listens and he does what he was asked to do, ppl still angry at him. “You should listened to me!” and “You shouldn’t listen to me!”. I love that they put Joes, but here’s the big issue: OOC of Mainframe and Flint with his daughter look similar the same age.
Remember when Trasnformers had the mystery of their religion and mythology? Mix of Sci-Fi and Cosmic Fantasy. Yeah, forget about that. It was all Shockwave’s evil plan. Another big disappointment for me.
I like how they described the ghost of Bumblebee, but Shockwave being one of 13 Primes looks very... confusion to me.
Lost Light
Tumblr media
Lost Light deserves to be called a weak sequel. Remember when in MTMTE was magic mystery, adventure, gore and development of characters and relationships? Here I found nothing. New characters for me are not interesting. And yes about them being “trans”. Im not transphobic and sorry if my opion might hurt you or offend. I just dont see transgenders in Transformers.  I dont see transformers suffering of gender dysphoria. Hell, I doubt they suffer of homophobia, bc they are totally fine with mlm and wlw. If you dont know, hetero relationships are for the population of Earth. And Transformers managed told that they can love each other, but their love is not like Earth’s bc they dont have to have sex to create life. They have strong emotion connection to each other.
Speaking about love. I love Chromedome/Rewind love story bc it was developed. We saw the birth of connection, loss, pain, reunion, fear and happiness. Same with Cyclonus and Tailgate. To be fair I dont ship the last two as romantic couple, but as platonic couple. For me they dont have that emotional connection like Chrome/Rewind but they care each other. In Lost Light nothing. You just accept that a lot characters are couple to each other. Why and how? Just accept it. This is why I dont feel emotional connection to Lug and Anode. To be fair I thought they are friend and Lug looks a lot like a boy. If they’d develop her more better, I think I’d like her. The whole Lost Light is just comics of couples. I was thinking when they’re gonna do the Orgy like in Ancient Rome.
Also here’s another disappointment in religion. Everything was lie. As I told earlier - I didnt like it. I’d rather to rewatch TFP, Bayverse or G1. BC I felt emptiness. MTMTE is masterpiece.
G.I. Joe
Tumblr media
Where do I begin? Was written by socialist who doesnt know anything about military, ruined Quick Kick who was nice and gentle, made Scarlett an idiot, turned charasmatic Shipwreck into fat vegan, new characters have no backstory or reasons why they joined to Joes. Also: huge hypocricy. Scarlett says that G.I. Joe is now international team, but they refuse to work with USA. I get it they tried to turn G.I. Joe into Overwatch, but OW was working with every country. Including USA, where they had one of their headquarters. American G.I. Joe was more progressive bc they were helping every country who had deal with Cobra or any threat. They even teamed up with Russian soldiers.
The huge disappointment was no explanation about Snake Eyes rebirth (and no love story of Snake/Scarlett) and Quick Kick being an ass. Just check G.I. Joe ARAH show. There Quick Kick was nice. I miss that one....
The only good stuff was about Rock n’ Roll nightmares and guilt for shooting Grand Slam, grumpy Grand Slam and Doc being half-alien. Thats alll.
Revolutionaries
Tumblr media
It was a bit better bc its literally crossover with conflict and backstories. Here they at least tried to make story interesting. And brought a lot interesting references. Especially to 90s: KLAW, Slaugther and even to original Action Force.
M.A.S.K.: Mobile Armored Strike Kommand
Tumblr media
At 1st they tried but then it all felt down. I wouldnt call it horrible. You can check out 1st issues. I can say that only villains were interesting. While main heroes...  here’s the problem.
Original Matt Trekker was an engineer, millionaire, helped ppl and white. Why the last important? BC in reboot he became boring black guy who seeks vengeance for his father death and the main bad guy is white man. Im not racist bc I like how it was done in Spawn, but it wasnt so obvious who is the bad guy who just wants to take over the world. I get it you hate Trump. He is a clown.
Also original Trekker raises his son alone. So he is widowed. It could play in reboot: lost all, but tries to keep his son safe. So much potential for drama of lonely father. But we got what we got. I just go to rewatch Spawn animated series.
If they wanted “diverse” why they didnt put more poc characters from MASK? You know there are actual canon black man and indian man? Even native american man?
ROM
Tumblr media
It was boring. 1st issues were interesting and brutal bc of alien invansion. You wouldnt know who is the enemy and who is the friend. But drama...
Whole Rom’s drama was about losing his humanity. At 1st we see him as cold-hearted alien. Then they all forget about it. Original Rom from Marvel was losing his humanity until he met brave girl Brandy who made him to remember his loss of homeplanet and love of his life. He was afraid to be alone and to be complete machine. And yes, in reboot his old girlfriend is alive. But I felt nothing with this. I prefer to read original comics bc I felt sorry for Rom.
Micronauts: Wrath of Karza
Tumblr media
It was boring. The only thing I can remember is Larissa being Baron Karza’s daughter. I dont compare reboot with original series bc I havent read yet. I liked the new one bc of Baron Karza and his wife (and their fetish).
First Strike
Tumblr media
Hoo- boy. It was bad. Preety bad. Not bc villains tried to destroy Cybertron. Not bc TF thought its gonna be war of humans and TF. No, it all was good. The main villain is Joe Colton who wants to destroy Cybertron to save Earth. And that he was bad from the beginning. His motivation sounds like Miles Mayhem from M.A.S.K.. That shock effect of surprise villain doesnt work here. It looks like disrespect to Joe fans. They managed to ruin Scarlett’s character who was turned into G.I. Joe not bc she was the best. She was in Joes bc she didnt do 50 push-ups. If you dont know, G.I. Joe is elite guard where they take the best men and women bc they do a lot dangerous work. So the whole story arc is full disrespect to Joe fan. I dont know about you, but I was offended by that.
Was there smth good? Team up of villains and the easter egg of Visionaries.
Rom vs. Transformers: Shining Armor
Tumblr media
I almost forget about the plot bc it was boring. Rom was rude like every commander (yeah, for someone “losing humanity”). New character was boring. So everythng was boring. Even Autobots didint save the situation.
Rom & the Micronauts
Tumblr media
Well, they at least tried with characters development. I really liked how characters interact with each other. But the whole story was “meh”
Scarlett's Strike Force
Tumblr media
It was very short and cancelled. BC that writer Sitterson wrote offensive tweet about Nine Eleven. I get it what he was trying to do: to make comics based on cartoon G.I. Joe. This is why Quick Kick and Spirit fight against Storm Shadow. Personally I thought it was racist bc “only asian fight agains asian”. And Storm Shadow has the worst redesign I’ve ever seen. Theres nothing to talk about the comics bc its unfinished and cancelled. So theres nothing.
Transformers vs. Visionaries
Tumblr media
This comic had potential. But the ending ruined it. The story is about colonization to save living race. But it will kill another nation. Its interesting theme. And how they managed? Nothing. For some reason everyone in peace and safe. The ending is just weird. I think writer didint know how to end that conflict so she wrote “everyone safe and in peace. Colonization is bad”. Not the ending is the problem. Main characters: Leoric and Virulina redesigned very strong. Leoric looks like total different character (why not to create new character? He looks good). And Virulina looks like student from art-school, not the villain. The redesigned I like are Cryotek and Arzon. And the art was very good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last 2 ones I havent finished yet. I can tell this: TAAO isnt look so bad, but I’m ready for disapointing ending, like TF Unicron.
In conclusion:
I dont tell that it was done horrible. Its just explains why IDW decided to reboot TF and G.I. Joe. Low sales. BC I’ve noticed a lot easter eggs in those comics for future story plots. I think they’d made it good if IDW would give them chance.
If you love them, thats fine. I’ll enjoy my own version of Hasbro Universe.

DCOM Rankings # 90: Let it Shine
Right off the bat: this was a MUCH easier watch than radio rebel, it was basically night and day! (Which is why this review is coming out quicker than I thought it would). It was really refreshing and it’s a little sad this movie doesn’t get enough recognition because, spoiler alert, it was pleasantly surprising!
I’m also first gonna say that im a little surprised that the actor from everybody hates Chris wanted to do a DCOM. I guess since EHC was slightly more mature show and DCOMS are obviously way more kid friendly. But I’m not complaining too much over here, I think overall he was a great match for the character of Cyrus. Actually the casting for everybody was great! I have 0 complaints about that. The only thing I will say about the main actor (I’m terrible I don’t remember his name) when he smiles it really looks like he’s in pain. Maybe it’s a cringe smile, in which case I completely understand. We all know how these movies are, don’t kid yourself. Everything else about the actors, great, amazing, spectacular!!
I’m going to address the cringiness of some of the scenes in this movie, and while I personally didn’t identify anything that was racist, this is one of the few DCOMS that focus on a mostly black cast, and it surrounds the rap/hiphop culture. I’m sure there was something offensive in there but I can’t really comment on that...not that I’m looking for offensive content it’s just that implicit bias is a big problem even at Disney. And the more we educate about the small things the less they will occur or teach about them, cuz racism is learned, it’s not natural.
Now, that all being said, I do like that they get audiences comfortable with rap music. Like me for example, I hated rap music and just flat out refused to listen to it for the longest time. Basically I was like Cyrus’ dad except I wasn’t like at his level I just personally prefer songs that I can actually sing along to. But I still had that bias like I just refused to listen to it no matter what it was, and I had a friend tell me once that “you might find you might like some rap songs if you look at the lyrics” and I realized how biased I actually was. I refused to listen to any type of rap but now I realized once I started listening to some of these popular rap songs that there are some deep meaning behind some of these lyrics. I’m still never going to love rap just because it’s not my cup of tea and that’s okay, but I now appreciate it for being another way folks can express themselves and get their message out. However, still don’t like the rap songs that just talk about sex and drugs. But I guess there’s musical lyrics that just talk about sex and drugs too so...ehhhh. Anyway. Point is, I appreciate rap’s place in society today, even if I’m still not the biggest fan of it.
Sooooo yeah! This is one of those “I can sing (rap) but I’m too shy/scared to do it in front of other people, even though I clearly show I’m very good. And the lesson here is to always express yourself. Something like that. DCOM’s have done this so many times at this point it’s not even funny anymore. And I’m like 99.9% sure it won’t be the last time. It’s such an easy uncomplicated lesson to teach to kids.
At least with this movie they do make it at least a little bit different than the other movies. Not a LOT different but enough to still make it entertaining. And thank the lord above that the characters actually seem like REAL PEOPLE, albeit, DCOM versions of real people but still! It’s in the right direction (compared to the last disaster movie).
Okay where to start with this....the characters? I like them! The main ones anyway. That “villain” rapper dude, who was also in star struck, was probably my least favorite, but not just because he was the antagonist and we are supposed to hate him, but I think he could have been developed a bit more, and maybe somewhat redeemed at the end. But that’s just me. The ending was fine, and maybe DCOMS have a habit of redeeming their antagonists and this was one of the times where they didn’t. Maybe that’s more realistic. So who knows.
Anyway, all the other characters are great and have their role in the story like they should. Cyrus is the shy protagonist, Chris is the foil for Cyrus, he looks like a rap music star (DCOM version), but can’t rap a beat. Cyrus doesn’t look the part but he can make lyrics fly off a page. Roxie is the “girl prize at the end” which I hate when movies do that, but at least she fights them a little about it before they get their happy ending.
If there’s one thing I don’t like about the ending. It was a little rushed. And Roxie took the biggest blow. That intense scene with Chris and Cyrus, where she told them she was never taking to them again, basically meant nothing when she’s completely fine after Chris forces her to listen to him about Cyrus. And everyone’s just happy and they play the happy song and then the credits roll.
WHAT. that’s it?? That was the only thing that really upset me. You want to know my favorite part(s) of the movie??
The main characters actually APOLOGIZE in a very genuine way that doesn’t seem too overreaching or unrealistic! Chris realized what his proposed fame was doing to him, he was living a lie and the guilt was destroying him. Plus it had to have been exhausting trying to come up with ways so he couldn’t perform live. His apology to Cyrus was an amazing scene and I was just so surprised because usually main characters are just like “I’m sorry, friends?” And they hug and that’s it. Even if Roxie forgave the boys too quickly, their apologies were so sincere. And now I know that both of them grew as characters throughout the movie.
The songs themselves were okay. Nothing particularly special. But again, it was mostly rap music so it didn’t grab me like it does with other types of music. But like I said, that’s okay, and they’re not bad songs, just not my cup of tea. But these guys do have talent, I will definitlely give them that!
Overall I really liked it. It wasn’t the best DCOM I’ve ever seen but it really did surpass my expectations. And if I ever found myself watching it again for some reason I wouldn’t complain. Despite the overused moral, it found a way to at least make it fresh and flow along with the story. The characters don’t really make outlandish or out-of-character decisions. (Except for the very end of the movie). Everything felt genuine and real. Within the context of the movie that is.
I’m going to give this a straight B as a grade. I don’t think this is quite A-tier because it doesn’t feel big enough, but it’s definitely still a high quality movie. But who knows what will happen when I use my new ranking system at the end of all this.
Okayyyy well I think this movie was the last movie I’ve seen trailers for. I’m really headed into unknown territory here with this next one. Wish me luck!

okay soooo i don’t usually make posts but i feel like i need to say things because there’s some stuff that’s bugging me- this is gonna be long as hell though... sorry ;-;
spoilers ahead: i wouldn’t recommend reading if you haven’t seen infinity war yet
one of the complaints im seeing about infinity war is that there was a lack of character development in it... and all i can think every time i see such a post is, wtf??? infinity war is the 19th movie in a series of movies. nearly every character in that movie has been introduced and developed previously. a lot of them already have multiple solo films where their characters were developed. and even the characters who haven’t been given solo films have previously been in other films where they have been given character arcs- maybe not big ones like some of the more popular avengers, but there has been at least a little development for everyone at some point.
as angry as i am at thanos for doing what he did, this was no doubt his movie. he drew the most attention and had the most development and backstory, and rightfully so. because while we have seen him appear in post-credit scenes and briefly in guardians, he has had no real character development up until now. he was suppose to be the main focus and have all the attention as far as im concerned. and he certainly did! he was badass, and cool, and threatening, and easily one of the best characters in the movie even though he did some bad things ;-;
the other characters have had their time in the spotlight, so it was thanos’ time to shine. you can’t go into a movie that has been built up from 10 years worth of films and expect every character to get a proper introduction and even more development. especially because of the amount of characters in this movie!! what was it, like 24 or something like that? and i think each nearly every one of them had a at least one good, shining moment in this film.
could things have been done differently? sure, but that can be said for just about every single movie ever. could some characters have been treated differently? sure, but i wouldn’t say any of them were particularly mistreated. but let me address some of the concerned people do have with mistreatment of characters just because, why not?
SPOILERS AHEAD - TURN BACK NOW IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN INFINITY WAR
so to start off, loki. i’ve seen a couple of posts that say everything he did, and the way he was killed right in the beginning of the movie was a huge mistreatment of his character. however, while i see where those opinions are coming from, i disagree. as much as i love loki and didn’t want to see him die, i think the way he behaved in that scene was very much in line with his character. but it also provided a bit of development for him. first of all, he gave up the tesseract to spare thor’s life, which is something he likely wouldn’t have done in the first thor movie or the original avengers. not only that, but he openly addressed the fact that he is a prince of asgard, the king of jotunheim, and a son of odin. that last one especially stuck out to me because i can’t imagine that he would previously call himself odinson in a serious manner. but he did, and that right there was one of the reasons his character arc was pretty much complete by the time he died. his final act of trying to trick thanos and kill him was something perfectly in line with his character as well. loki is the god of mischief, tricks, and lies - even with all the character development in the world, that’s who he is and who he always will be. so of course his final sentiment would be to trick thanos and kill him, it just makes sense to me. like yes, we all knew that after he stepped out of the shadows he was going to do something we regard as stupid and get himself killed, but would he be loki if he didn’t? loki, while a brilliant character, and one of the most well developed and complex in the mcu, makes stupid mistakes too and this was one of them. it sucks that this one would ultimately lead to his death, but i think it was the perfect beginning to this movie and a perfect way to show just how much of a threat thanos is. yes, loki was a brilliant character who deserved much more, but just like in real life, not everyone gets what they deserve. not everyone can have an incredible death scene with flowers and sad music and whatnot. loki went down swinging, and let’s face it, we all knew he was going to die when we walked into the theater to see this movie.  you can claim he was just “used” to show thanos’ power, but i don’t really think that’s a very valid argument. because yes, his death probably was inserted to give the audience an idea of thanos’ power, but why does that have to be a bad thing? loki went down to one of the most powerful beings in the universe. it’s not like some fucking pansy killed him or anything. he was killed by thanos - and not only that, but loki did try and kill thanos before thanos got him. so it’s not like loki gave up or anything either. we all already know loki can fight, and just how powerful loki is because he was in 4 movies before this. losing to thanos does not make him any less powerful, or diminish his character image at all, to me. once again, this was thanos’ movie, not loki’s. and thanos is the guy who beat up the hulk in like less than two minute- how could anyone possibly expect loki to win that battle? and as much as it sucks that it was the end of loki’s character, it makes sense that he died in the way he did.  okay enough about loki, let’s move onto heimdall. okay so recently i saw a post that said both the asgardians and heimdall should’ve just been left out of the movie all together. and the whole time i was reading it, i was just thinking... wtf?? my argument for heimdall is very similar to my argument for loki. although a powerful, badass character, he was killed by thanos, once again, one of the most powerful beings in the universe. plus, heimdall was clearly injured in that scene because thanos had just blown up their ship. but despite his injury, the destruction all around him, and facing thanos and the black order, heimdall still conjured up some magic sent hulk to earth so he could warn everyone of the coming danger. he risked his life to do that, and evidently got it taken away from him too. he could’ve just sat in silence, but he didn’t. and i think him doing that was perfectly in line with his character. now, obviously his death scene was quick and could possibly be seen as a “throw away” or something like that, so i will once again say, not everyone in life can have a meaningful death scene, even if they deserve it. i know, it’s not fair, and i don’t think it was done because the russos were trying to disrespect heimdall’s character or anything. it was done because thanos, like it or not, is more powerful than heimdall, and what kind of villain would thanos be if he just sat there and let heimdall get away with what he did??  now in this same post, the person who wrote it said that wakanda and everyone in it should’ve been left out of this movie as well. and no, they didn’t mean it in a racist way or anything (as far as i know). i think it was more of a “they didn’t deserve to get hurt” kind of way. of course, they didn’t deserve to get hurt, but to say they shouldn’t have been included in the movie just seems like bullshit to me. first of all, having the battle in this field in wakanda contained the damage of the battle. by drawing thanos and his army there, they undoubtedly saved so many lives and prevented a shit ton of property damage. (yes i know thanos snapped at the end and murdered half the universe, but i’m not talking about that. im talking about the collateral damage the battle would’ve caused had they been in someplace like new york again.) and also i see so many people complain about how many damn battles are in new york so y’all should be grateful that it was actually somewhere else this time.
the person who made this post also said that steve and his gang should not have gone to wakanda at all. and that steve should’ve just let vision die rather than going to shuri about it. the person also asked the question “how does steve even know vision” and honestly im not sure i have ever rolled my eyes harder. i guess this particular person just completely forgot that steve lived and trained with vision for two years after age of ultron and before civil war?? and to say steve should’ve let vision die is just an absolute disservice to steve’s character. steve may have dropped the mantle of captain america, but that doesn’t mean he should just start sacrificing the lives of his teammates or friends. yes, the whole reason vision was going to sacrifice himself was so half the universe could live, but would the avengers really be heroes if they didn’t at least try and find a solution where everyone got to live? (not only that, but no matter when they destroyed the stone, thanos was going to just turn back time anyways)
and let’s say for a second that steve and his gang didn’t go to wakanda, i think it’s also absolute bullshit to assume that t’challa wouldn’t have gone to them as soon as he found out the world was in danger. one of the main points in the black panther movie was that wakanda was going to try and help people in the world, rather than just keep themselves hidden and safe. so of course, t’challa would try and help in some way. and it’s an absolute disservice to his character to say he wouldn’t. so no matter what, even if they didn’t go to wakanda, the people of it would’ve been involved in some way or another.
another thing i saw about wakanda (in this same stupid post) is that the film undervalued the strength of the wakandan army.. i think that’s a crap statement too. the wakandan army came out to fight. they didn’t have to, they could’ve disobeyed if they wanted and ran away from this battle. because honestly, an alien army was attacking so were they really going to get in trouble for committing treason at that moment? no probably not. but they didn’t run away. they came out and stood by their king’s side to defend their nation and the world, despite not knowing what the hell they were even fighting. and even though they are strong and badass, they are just regular people too, with fears and normal strengths and weaknesses. but they dived headfirst into a battle with aliens who were clearly bigger and stronger, and did a good job of it if i remember correctly. really though, they’re an army, their purpose is to protect their nation and their king. not each member of it is going to get character development, nor are they going to win every battle they fight.
in conclusion, i think infinity war easily accomplished what it set out to do- and that was, have a giant avengers movie with thanos utterly destroying everyone. no, not everyone got character development, nor where the death scenes what the fans thought some characters deserved. but as a whole, infinity war was a great movie. 10/10 would see again. it has it’s flaws, but i loved it. feel free to fight me about it or fan to me about it.

So more tales from a corrupt private grammar school, and this is one that might get me hate?
So where I’m from in England, white people are the minority, as from statistics in my town (I love in the suburbs between counties, but my nearest town), white British people make up less than 50% of the population. This obviously means that a private school in the centre will have white people as a minority, especially as all the highest paying jobs where I am are filled by primarily people of colour. This isn’t racist, im stating a fact as this is what needs to be said to explain what comes next. My town is also very obese. I genuinely think that 5% of the residents are not classed as obese by the nhs scale. Again, not fatist, just a statement.
My school really liked to pretend that they represented everyone, with more than half the school being non-white, many of the staff being non-white, and most of the students being considerably overweight. It was diverse, anyone could see that, but it was the skinny white kids who were the most ignored if that makes any sense. And I know I’m not just talking from personal experience here.
When I started, I was the only white girl in my form of 26. I was another skinny white kid who no one wanted to talk to, so fair enough. But I soon learnt that it was the teachers as well. Because I was white I didn’t get given opportunities to prove myself as one of the best etc blah blah. But it only really hit me how bad it was when I began gcses.
My school were strict on uniform, we had our own shop in the grounds of the school, and they made sure that they got hold of skirts in ‘every size possible’. This wasn’t true. They made skirts that accommodated mid size to plus size girls, and there was nothing for slimmer build girls. I spent years sewing my skirts, hemming them, nipping in the waist, pinning them, because they were often too short AND too big on the waist, because I have long legs and a small waist. I ended up just rolling them up and not giving a shit, because I hadn’t the time to keep sewing them, but this got me into more trouble. I was always told off for my skirts being hemmed and rolled over even though I couldn’t do anything about it, lest they literally fall off me in the middle of school, which would’ve caused far more of a stir. They made me uncomforyable as a person , they were pencil skirts and not good at all, and each day was growing and they were fitting me worse. I wasn’t allowed to wear trousers at this point either. I called the shop and asked if they had any in my length and my waist, and they said no, I’d just have to make do and mend, and put on some weight so I filled it out. This wasn’t fair! They had waist sizes twice what mine was, but not ones for actual slim people? And it really bugged me, more skirt stories to come.
And then for the race thing. The main ‘abuser’ in my school was a black boy. I say abuser because he assaulted almost every girl there, three years above him to two years below. No one was safe. Molesting, cat calling, harassing. But each and every time he was arrested - usually by white and Asian girls who were sick of getting their asses squeezed by him for no reason and completely non-consensually, we were just told that we were racist, and given behaviour points. This wasn’t ok, and no one did anything about it. I was at that school for two and a half years, and in that time I was molested and cat called and made to feel uncomfortable in my place of work by one guy more times than I can count. I reported him when he decided to assault me in class, but I won’t go into details of that, and I was given detention because he was black and I was white and I was just a racist privileged white girl looking for someone to blame. I don’t know why it didn’t change. Girls right from age 12 to 18 of all races and sizes complained about him, and nothing was ever done. I don’t care , you don’t fucking blame the victim, which was what our school did to us, and then made all the girls seem like the villains for reporting assault. That was the main thing, if you ever complained about someone who wasn’t white and you were, automatically noted as racist. And that’s not how it should work.
The debauchery of this goes way deeper and I have more tales to tell, but for now I’ll leave it at that. Moral of the story, speak up about racism, because any race can be racist; and don’t ever blame the victim. And stock skirt sizes for everyone!

Why Sean Spicer Shouldn’t Be Fired For Hitler Comments
Bringing up Hitler is almost always a bad move, which Sean Spicer learned the hard way when he made poorly worded statements that Hitler did not use chemical weapons the same way President Bashar al-Assad is doing in Syria. Instead of dropping gas on people with airplanes, Spicer said, Hitler brought people into Holocaust centers, by which he presumably meant concentration camps. A more seasoned spokesperson or a Chuck Klosterman fan would have known to avoid talking about Hitler altogether.
In his excellent book about villains, I Wear The Black Hat, Klosterman described the inherent dilemma of saying anything about Hitler, noting that even his Jewish friends who insisted that Hitler be in his book also warned him that, [p]eople will go crazy if you write about Hitler. It doesnt matter what your argument is. Klosterman theorized that the only safe thing to do was to write the sentence Hitler was evil over and over again, and he was probably right. So Spicer, should not have been surprised when his bumbling remarks about an extremely sensitive subject led to justifiable outrage.
To his credit, Spicer did the right thingapologizing for his comments sincerely and profusely, and explaining that trying to compare Assad and Hilter was a mistake he will not make again. But for some, Spicers apology was not enough. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said that Spicer must be fired for downplaying the horror of the Holocaust. Charles P. Pierce wrote in an Esquire column titled Fire This Man that Spicers statement ought to be a career-killer. And though Pelosi and Pierce would be right to call for the firing if Spicers misstatements were what he actually believed, they are wrong to do so in this instance.
More importantly, by demanding yet another firing of yet another person who speaks for a living based on a poorly-worded statement, Pelosi, Pierce, and others are not helping their own cause. One of the primary reasons voters gravitated toward Donald Trump was as a backlash to political correctness. Trying to foster a country in which anyone can lose their job for making a dumb statement is not going to win those voters back. Its time for those who fuel the perpetual outrage machine to learn this lesson.
Everybody, and I mean everybody, says foolish, poorly worded, or insensitive things from time to time. Beloved liberal Joe Biden said that as a candidate, Barack Obama was the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. After bowling a 129, the ever careful Obama said he bowled like it was the Special Olympics, or something. The more people speak, the more foolish things they are going to say. Its a direct correlation.
For most of American history, isolated misstatements or insensitive comments like Bidens, Obamas, or even Spicers were forgiven as long as the speaker apologized. Joe Biden was not kicked off Obamas ticket for his remarks. George W. Bush made enough verbal mistakes to fill a page-a-day calendar, but was also able to make it through two full terms as President. But in the past decade our collective intolerance, yes, intolerance for such comments has dwindled, especially from many people on the political left.
In 2012 HBOs show Girls faced frequent criticism from media outlets for being racist for no other reason than the fact that its four main characters were white women. In 2015 Colin Cowherd was taken off the air at ESPN while during a conversation about the intelligence of baseball players, he made the factually accurate statement that, The Dominican Republic has not been known in my lifetime as having world-class academic abilities. Shortly after the 2016 election, there was a glut of articles on websites like Slate implying that nearly all Trump supporters were racists or misogynists.
In 2017, it seems like a week rarely goes by without a politician, comedian, sportscaster, or corporation making headlines with a few ill-conceived words and getting fired, boycotted, or shunned as a consequence. And while there is no doubt that the people who are outraged sincerely believe their venom is justified, those same people fail to realize that they are alienating huge chunks of Americans, including fellow liberals. The perpetual outrage machine is both widening political divisions and preventing worthwhile, sincere discussions on critical subjects in the social justice arena.
Spicers comments about the Holocaust were admittedly worse than Cowherds about baseball players or HBOs casting of Girls, but that is beside the point. Most people do not want to live in a country where you can apologize when you make a foolish statement, but still lose your job anyway. Republicans and Democrats alike do not want political opponents to call for their partys representative to step down every time that representative makes a gaffe. Trump voters who may have genuine concerns about transgender individuals or innocently held opinions about the Black Lives Matter movement will be reluctant to voice them if they are afraid of being villainized for doing so. The perpetual outrage machine is not getting the kind of results we want.
So though Im no fan of Sean Spicer, I find myself in the awkward position of arguing that he should not lose his job over the remarks he made today. If Nancy Pelosi wants to start a campaign to fire Spicer for his consistent lies and half-truths, Id be a supporter. But the man should not lose his job for some poorly chosen words that he sincerely apologized for; not because there is anything special about Sean Spicer, but because nobody should lose their job for that.
