Never thought a mutual would reblog this so, these are all blanket statements for these and calling them all scams by default is hurting people more than helping.

If you see trends like emojis, the same phrasing etc. KEEP IN MIND this is coming from a country where english isnt their first language and people there who are DESPERATE are copying what seems to successful for better and quicker funding because you know....THEY ARE TRYING NOT TO DIE.

I have seen bloggers who have been verifying these diligently, something noone calling them scams is EVER willing to do, being called scammers as well with no concrete evidence to back these claims up. Why, do tell, do the Palestinians have to write you personalized messages in perfect english with the right ratio of emoji-to-text which you will ignore anyway and the people calling them fake have to provide zero evidence aside from "They are probably scams because theres a lot"

I get not wanting to give scammers money and if theres 100% evidence I will go "Well dont I feel stupid" but all the things so far have been "gofundme doesnt operate in Palestine" which is true but you neglect that they HAVE FAMILY OUTSIDE THEIR COUNTRY AND PEOPLE CAN SET THEM UP OUTSIDE AND BRING THEM THE MONEY WHEN THE BORDER IS OPEN. Aside from that reblogging these "scams" doesnt give anyone money yet and you are welcome to do whatever proofing you need to verify them if you dont want your hard-earned money to go to a scummy scammer but ACTUALLY DO THE RESEARCH THEN. Until then all of these are just things to tell yourself you are still doing the right thing by ignoring them because "They're probably secretly all bad people anyway" NOT TO MENTION THAT ACTUAL VERIFIED FUNDRAISERS ARE GETTING LESS OF A CHANCE BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL LABELED AS FAKE.

If you are convinced and cant (or dont want to) do any research into the legitimacy of these campaings THEN JUST IGNORE THEM ITS THAT EASY.

You are not obligated to complain online where people escaping a genocide can see it (and they have internet...theres this whole thing with esims? you remember??? and if you assume ass palestinians dont have phones then you have more than one problem to sort out)
