1. Assure your girlfriend that the world is not ending when she accidentally posts you to her main Instagram. Your girlfriend will wake up in a state of panic after putting you on her main Instagram story on accident. The first order of business will be to put her at ease. Call her the moment she messages you, just so a friendly face is the first thing she sees in light of everything.

Once her initial panic has subsided, try to distract her. Focus on making her smile or laugh.

Optionally, get some of her favorite food delivered to her apartment. She'll likely not be able to eat because of how nervous she is.

Constant reassurance is key. Make it clear that mistakes happen and that you're not mad at her. You could never be mad at her, to be honest.

2. Talk with everybody relevant to the situation, i.e. your company and your bandmates. There will be a lot of meetings with managers, then company executives. Grin and bear it. These people will be everything from shocked, to petulant, to overly excited. Prepare for an emotional whirlwind.

Stand your ground. The company will give you a lot of shit about it. There will be endless discussions about group image, about risks and consequences. But you know what you want. You want her. That's what you should tell your members, your leader, your manager, your CEO. Do not falter. Do not let your voice crack. Be honest and hold out.

3. Do not confirm or deny rumors about your relationship. No matter how excited you are to finally see your names linked on headlines, do not give the gossip mills the satisfaction. Both of you deserve to break the news on your own terms.

If you really must, screenshot the news articles and keep them for your own personal amusement. The two of you can laugh about it someday. (Hopefully.)

4. Make sure you understand what 'going public' entails for the two of you. A secret, long-distance relationship is one thing. A public, high-profile relationship is an entirely different monster. Take a flight to her city. Be extra discreet about it. Meet up, spend the weekend. Talk. Talk until your voices are hoarse. Talk about your concerns; talk about what you're excited to have. Make a SWOT analysis. Kiss until you both can't think of anything else. Be abundantly clear what is on the other side if you decide to take that leap.

Ask her a dozen times if she's okay, if she's sure. Up until the very last minute. People can change their mind; she wouldn't be blamed if she does.

Make sure you're sure. Know how much is riding on this, on you.

Think of how nice it would be to hold her hand out on the street. To get to call her yours out loud. To acknowledge her in your dedications, to not have to hide the fact that she's the person you're jet-setting to see. Think of all that, keep it in mind. Take nothing for granted.

5. Go public. The company will make a statement. You will have to say something on WeVerse. She'll take to other social media platforms. Tune out the reports and ignore the hashtags. A temporary social media cleanse might be beneficial, even. For the most part— take comfort in the knowledge that it's out. Everybody now knows that you, Chwe Hansol, have a girlfriend. Someone you want so bad that you'll go back on all the things you believe. Everybody knows her now, so there's only really one thing left to do.

vernon's voice is soft and quiet and laced with sleep as he calls to you, which is only made more obvious by the term of endearment (always saved for sleepy moments or the more intimate ones). he reaches over to you, fingers curling around the wrist of the hand holding your phone. he can see your watery eyes in the low light.

"are you looking at the otters again?"

with a whimper, you pout at him. "they're holding hands... and stacking things... it's cute."

his chuckle sounds a second later as he puts your phone aside, drawing you in to cuddle with him. his hand slips into your own like its home, and you feel the chaste kiss he leaves against your neck. "how about," he says in a whisper, as though someone else could overhear, "we go look at some real otters tomorrow?"

something about that makes you tear up a little more. you think it's because you're exhausted. "really...?"

"really," he buries his face into your neck. "i'll buy you whatever plushie you want."

"i'm--" you stifle a yawn, relaxing against him. "i'm gonna hold you to it."

(he'll end up buying two anyway, pressing their faces together with a "look, they're us!" just to hear you laugh at how goofy he is.)

wildest dreams. it's kind of an incredibly, almost painfully romantic song. it's kind of a whirlwind romance song? while it's certainly a little hopeless, there's yearning there, and there's also so much vivid, vibrant love at the same time, a kind of possession, of protectiveness even so. it's seungcheol because of the desperate, helpless love it describes, a 'i couldn't help but fall for you' vibe that is so him.

willow. the acoustic vibes of this song feel very wonwoo. there's a sort of undying, eternal love in the lyrics, an idea of always coming back to him, of forever finding endless comfort and wonder and new experiences while loving him. there's a certain domesticity to this song, and honestly the best way to describe it really is eternal love, constant love, comfortable and thrilling and warm all at once.

mingyu

daylight. it's a little youthful, bright, like mingyu. the song just exudes so much "happy ever after" vibes, at the end of a perfect romantic novel, and that's so mingyu. it's the epilogue song, heart filled with warm love, his smiles as sweet and gentle as the chorus of the song. it's hopeful, optimistic, beautiful.

we are never ever getting back together. lyrics aside, there's a lot of feel-good energy in this song which feels so vernon. honestly lots of taylor's old songs feel like they can match him a lot, because there's so much young energy, feeling a little like a boundless puppy, and i don't know. the self-assurance, the brightness, the pure pop, light feeling is something that just fits vernon.

vernon nearly fumbles with the mic in his hands, cord slipping from his grasp as he hears your voice ring out across the room. he can see how everyone else is staring at him now, the heat traveling up his neck. seungcheol stands across from you, headset pulled half-way off his ears as he stares at vernon, brows furrowed.

the room is silent. he looks around. "... yeah?"

"if you drop that mic... you're paying for it." your gaze bears heavily into his own, and you narrow your eyes for a moment before turning back to seungcheol.

he looks down to where he's holding it properly now (no longer swinging it by the chord, trying to look cool... admittedly for no one but himself), and he hears mingyu snort, and when vernon looks over, he can see seungkwan suppressing a smile, too.

seungkwan speaks low enough that the conversation stays between them, "not even their own boyfriend is immune..."

"aw, c'mon, i was mishandling it," vernon says. "it's not a big deal."

"he's whipped," mingyu snorts again, looking over to seungkwan. "they brought out the full name and everything."

vernon rolls his eyes, moving back to put the mic into its stand. barely seconds after he's made sure its secure, you're over by him, gaze meeting his own.

"hi?"

"thank you," you say quietly. with a quick glance around, you lean in, lips brushing against his cheek for barely a second. "are we... still going out tonight?"

he smiles. "yeah, of course," he toys with the chord still, adjusting the mic. when you don't move away immediately, he goes to speak... only to see the way you turn your cheek to him, tapping it despite your flustered look.

vernon doesn't hesitate. he leans in, lips lingering on your cheek longer than yours did. he knows someone is looking, but you don't shy away, and he's glad to show off his affection for you. you walk away, and he sees your tiny smile as you go to ask joshua about doing a mic check before rehearsal.

and behind him, seungkwan lets out a sigh, shaking his head. "he's gone."
