It's time for some emotional drama. Finally. On February 5, we have a Fullmoon in needy Leo, and that’s a good thing. Why? We’ve been deep in cold Saturn-ruled signs (Cap and Aquarius, respectively) since late December, and the un-emotive jag we’re on is getting a bit tiresome. The Waterbearer and the Goat (which sounds like the title to a gloomy experimental theatre piece) are not for warm embraces. Rather, they resemble characters in some minimal off-Broadway play, each sitting at a long, stark table, eating soup, and carping. Samuel Beckett comes to mind. Just when the tedious dialogue can’t get worse, enter drama queen Leo Full Moon stage left to inject some “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” emotional ruckus into the currently staid cosmic stagecraft. Things, all of a sudden, get interesting. We know that, astrologically, Full Moons always occur in the sign opposite the Sun. Symbolically, these lunations suggest counterweights to the prevailing sentiment of the season. Aquarius is cool, hyper-cerebral, distant, independent, and understated. The Leo Full Moon, in contrast, is attention-seeking, fiery, emotional, extra, and dramatic. In other words, it’s just what we need at the midpoint of the Waterbearer’s month. It’s like a little intermission in a play–or a bit of comic relief in a drama. As such, the Leo Full Moon augurs a moment for us to act out, to make a scene. This doesn't mean to behave badly. But it does mean there is going to be more heat, passion, and reactivity in the air on the 5th. Leo, after all, is a fire sign, ruled by the Sun. It flares up. It creates situations. It’s loud. It voices opinions. It’s time for you to voice yours. A veces y sólo a veces estar enfermo no es tan protervo, sólo recuerda que darle una oportunidad al cuerpo para reposar y respirar te dará más tiempo para ti.

Así fue como logré finalizar “Pandora” de Liliana Blum, libro corto, con personajes enfermizos, un lenguaje crudo y con una cierta atracción hacía lo morboso. Esta catalogado como literatura erótica, adentrándote en temas como la parafilia y el fetichismo.

En un principio sentí curiosidad, no estaba en mi zona de confort literaria por lo que profesé a continuar. Por un momento sentí que estaba frente a una historia que haría explotar todo ese estereotipo de que lo que se “ve bien” ante la sociedad y el significado de la belleza, pero de un momento a otro todo se convirtió en excesivo y exagerado. Claramente su trama te hace reflexionar sobre el dolor ajeno, la soledad, te hace pensar sobre esa estúpida lucha toxica de tu entorno, visiblemente no te deja indiferente, pero tanto trastorno, extremo y pervertido no me hizo disfrutarla.

I think we can agree that 92 was a brilliant year for music.

A real highlight for me was Let Me Come Over by Buffalo Tom. One of those few albums in my collection that I will never get tired of.

It was also the year I fell for Nine Inch Nails, mainly to help me with a bad break-up!

I saw PJ Harvey at Reading Festival, Three And A Half Minutes supported Ned's Atomic Dustbin on the Are you Normal tour in Cambridge and Leave Them All Behind by RIDE solidified my complete hero worship of Loz Colbert.

Some obsure records too, Boing! by Airhead - a joyful, indie-pop treasure trove of songs, and Eleven Eleven by Come, a bleak, bluesy and dark album that would accompany us as we drove through the night from gig to gig.
