i never actually finished watching normal people, but i genuinely appreciated it putting realistic sex on TV. it's becoming increasingly rare to see sex that isn't extreme bdsm / borderline torture/rape in shows, even involving teenagers or young adults, and i fear for the young girls who are going to suffer enormously for the example it's setting

#if you tell boys that girls enjoy being slapped and strangled during sex they're going to do it #and if you teach girls that they should enjoy being beaten up during sex they're going to tolerate being badly hurt #and feel badly about themselves because they don't actually like it #female sexuality is becoming a game of who can withstand the most pain and wearing that as a badge of honour #what happened to sweaty giggly enjoyable missionary sex on tv?
