A season 1 episode of Babylon 5 is playing on one of those random free "live TV" streaming channels and despite having seen it before and coming in halfway through I'm transfixed

Such a good fucking show

#there's something about the b5 vision of the future that just. has a sense of history and realism that's different from other sf series #it's lived in without being gritty; futuristic without being too distant; its aliens alien without being Planet of One Guy #there's just such a depth and texture to everything #if you haven't watched B5 i urge you to give it a try #just be warned the first 2-3 episodes are a bit of a hard sell. esp. episode 1-- they hadn't quite stuck the tone yet then #the first episode in particular is like. why am i watching a soap opera with human muppets #then all of a sudden something clicks and it's like. oh this is what 90's trek fucking wished it could be #(no shade on 99's trek which i adore completely. But b5 has one complex overarching story to tell and it just. Does)
