When you get one of your posts reblogged by someone who's correcting your grammar in their reblog... For fuck's sake, this is what people mean when they use the term 'grammar nazi'. As an aspiring author myself, can I just say to all grammar nazis: People don't have perfect grammar all the time. Even authors don't, its why there are editors and even those fail sometimes (back in my Twilight days I heard the English copies had a shit ton of grammar mistakes). Even translators sometimes make spelling mistakes, I remember 'groen' (green), being mispelled in the Spiderwick translation I owned as a kid. And that's okay. It as sure can annoy you, but that's a you problem.
(as long as it isn't a mistake in published educational material, because depending on the mistake you can be educated the wrong way). Free content like a blog post, should never be reblogged with grammar corrections. That's horribly condescending behavior. Especially when it's not even a fanfic like this post was. Am I getting paid for perfect grammar? Nope, so why should I always correct myself all the time? I correct myself if I want to, and if I don't, then I don't. It's that simple. Try not to be so god damn triggered about people making grammar and spelling mistakes. Seriously, what's your problem? I literally have mentioned that it's behavior like this, why I quit writing fanfics as a teenager because grammar nazis would throw xenophobic remarks at me for not being a native English speaker. Why don't you guys learn that your attitude is totally a buzzkill for people who aren't as uptight as you? Most people don't care this much, so let it go!
#I hate grammar nazis#grammar nazis#don't reblog with grammar corrections y'all#it's so god damn rude#if you don't want to read imperfect grammar then go to the library instead of the internet#because over here people care even less about perfect grammar#considering most of us aren't actually paid to deliver good grammar#unlike the authors whose work you can pick from the library
