If you have access to a decent amount of ice, putting a bowl of ice in front of a fan can help circulate cooler air in your house. I've also seen more involved tutorials of how to rig up something similar with the ice in a cooler so it lasts longer
Also, definitely make sure you have sport drinks or some other source of electrolytes (pickle juice actually works well, and you can find recipes for homemade electrolyte drinks online). If you're sweating a lot, just water alone will not properly rehydrate you. You need something in additionto water to replace the salts that you're losing

#i am currently living in an actual literal desert in the american southwest and 43 C is about what it's been HERE for the past couple weeks#and every building here actually has AC and most people still don't go outside at all in this heat if they have any other option#like. locals who've lived here their whole lives avoid going out in that kind of heat#just for reference for how hot that actually is#long post#if y'all can get actual AC units for your windows that's ideal of course but i'm assuming that's not an option for many/most people#that said when i was living in an area where most houses didn't have AC and we had a couple unusually hot summers#we got 2 standing AC units and they were a godsend#they use a lot of power but like. still absolutely worth it if you can get one#tips for high heat
