Explaining Nesmith/Townshend or A Primer on Townsmith

Dear friends and enemies... (and specifically @gitsor3010 and @smugruttle if you guys didn't want me to ping you, you shouldn't have liked my drabble, rookie mistake)

Recently I posted a drabble here regarding my very specific and niche ship of Mike Nesmith and Pete Townshend, motivated in part by @yaggerdangs-remedy shared enthusiasm for it (love you for that by the way, if you are reading this <3). I also posted another small thing on my NSFW sideblog, because of course I did.

Surprisingly, that first drabble seemed to have caught the attention of more than one person, so I guess it's my civil duty to explain where the hell this ship even came from, and also tell you all about dynamics and whatnot about this ship so I can maybe convince you all of my truth!

This post might get long though so I'm putting this all under a read more. [spoilers: this post did get long it's like 3,000 words long I'm sorry]

=Quick Background:

To start explaining Townsmith we need to go way way back to when I was 19 (over 15 years ago!) and I became obsessed with The Monkees and The Who almost simultaneously. The Monkees came first but it took just a couple months at best for me to also grow very attached to The Who.

Obviously, as a very normal person, I wanted to write about crossovers involving them, and even entertained the idea of a TV show centered crossover that was inspired by the small trivia about how there was like a glimmer of a thought of making a Who TV show but nothing came of it (but honestly can u IMAGINE mod era Who TV show?).

At the time thought, I didn't have enough writing skills to pull off anything of real substance, and the crossover ideas were more silly fanfic concepts than anything. I still have some of those early writings saved but they are very poor quality, but they still have some good ideas I pull from now and then.

In the middle of all this crossover musing, I felt really strongly about Mike/Pete, and at the time it was more of a surface level "they would look nice together and they are both weird" thing than whatever monster I created in my head now. I dunno exactly what pushed me in that direction. Me not being too invested in Towntrey at the time was probably to blame, as I was too busy shipping Roger with John. But I guess I unconsciously felt bad for Pete and wanted him to have someone he could bond with.

I also didn't have any Mike ships at the time, as I was hyperfixated in Jonestork and Micky was just the fun friend. So I just put them together for convenience. Oh, that was such a foolish mistake on my part and I had no idea.

=First Big Townsmith Idea:

OK, cool, now we've established this came from me not wanting them to be alone + they had some traits that matched. They are both tall, lanky weird guitar players who are a little too invested in their music to the point is a little strange to those around them.

And from that concept came the idea to write about Pete and Mike meeting by chance at a party, getting smashed and fucking. There wasn't much beyond that at the time, and because I didn't have the skills to pull off anything really that cool (I wanted them to be tripped out and whatnot, but lack of resources and knowledge at the time made this just some distant thought).

But that small seed was stuck in the back of my brain, waiting for when all things fell into place, I would be prepared.

The years passed, ships and fandoms came and went, and I became better at writing and better at expressing what I wanted through my fics. But I never really returned to Who or Monkees as strongly as I did when I was 19. I still listened to the music and whatnot, but for no reason in my mind I had put myself above RPF. No, I wouldn't go down that path again, I told myself for years and years...

Then last year happened and all of it went to shit.

Honestly I just doubled down on the RPF in ways my 19 year old self would never even dream of, and by digging through my old notes and ideas, I stumbled upon Pete/Mike again.

Now older and with more knowledge about both of them, in my head I was like "Yeah, they are fucking soulmates there's no way" and went back to the idea of them meeting and tripping and having no strings attached sex. But oh boy are there strings attached to this. Are there ever strings attached to this. But I think it was important to let you all know the basis where I built this on. It was a one-shot idea I had when I was like 19 and wanted to fill a ship gap. You can't make this shit up.

=Townsmith Makes Sense Chronologically And I Hate It:

It would be all funny and haha if I didn't start to expand on the original one-shot concept. I could just make it extremely anachronistic and just leave it at that. It's just a mindless smut one-shot, after all. But hey, if I have the tools now to research and make this make more sense chronologically (trust me the Internet was not like this when I was 19) why not use those tools?

So, I found that the ideal point for the one-shot. 1969. Pete just found himself being hailed as some kind of musical genius for coming up with Tommy, while Mike is struggling to keep himself interested in the Monkees concept in a post-Head climate. Mike was never the biggest fan of the Monkees as a concept, and by the time the movie rolled out his interest had waned considerably. He wanted to do his own stuff, he didn't want to be tied to this marketing stunt.

But hey, Mike's still under contract so for all intents and purposes, he has to keep up appearances.

And he heard about Pete. Everyone heard about him at this point. And Mike has to admit he's jealous. Pete had the type of creative freedom Mike could only dream of at the time. However, Mike is still Mike and he isn't about to be all in awe and amazed by some British musician that just "got lucky". In the initial concept, this all started off with Mike being very envious of Pete's position, but also thinking that Pete was also pulling publicity stunts of his own, why with the Who's whole live aggression and whatnot. And that notion just becomes more solidified in his mind when he meets Pete and he's... quiet. Almost shy even.

There's no way a guy like this is the same guy that is up there on stage. Maybe Mike was wrong and maybe music was all based on carefully curated personas.

The problem is, Pete is who he is. Yes his stage "persona" is not the exactly the same as his regular one, but right now he's in a post Mod mindset. He doesn't have to care for an image or a persona.

Mike still needs to hang on to that.

And when Mike meets Pete he is not impressed. Obviously. But he still wants to hear what Pete has to say. After all he did write Tommy and Mike is intrigued (and this plays out later, but let's not get ahead of ourselves).

So they drop acid and talk, as one does, and at first Mike has all the confidence in the world. Yeah sure this meek British man has some words on him. Beautiful, deep meaningful words, but his behavior is a far cry from the explosiveness Mike saw on the TV and such. He can handle Pete.

Mike so cannot handle Pete.

At the same time Mike is envious of Pete's position, there's some borderline envy on Pete's end. Oh, if only he could just let other people just think for him. Do all the heavy lifting of music creation on his behalf while he just stood there as an avatar. Sounded pretty ideal, and specially during Tommy where Pete was under tremendous creative stress, trying to do something that was similar yet different from things that came before.

Still though, Pete wouldn't give up his creative freedom for the sake of some stress relief. Even in the early mod era days, he was quick to seize creative control over things, and that's what I think is the most interesting aspect of them: they are both very intent on being in control of their creative endeavors, but Pete was blessed with the opportunity to be free to do what he wanted. Mike's creative freedom was quickly stripped from him when he joined the Monkees and since then it was an uphill struggle for any of them to get any of it back. A journey that had started almost two years prior with Headquarters.

But now the TV show was over, the movie had just been released and Mike found himself in this weird position where yes, he was still under a contract but... was he really? He could set off to do his own thing.

And this is where the strings get attached folks.

=A Much Needed Recap:

OK, so let's recap because that was disorienting: 1969 was a weird year for both Mike and Pete. Mike was in this weird place where he was still part of the Monkees but not really, and Pete was hailed as a visionary and saw his band become ridiculously successful almost overnight (like it or not, the Woodstock performance sure brought in the numbers).

Right now Mike's jealous of Pete's position, Pete is not jealous of Mike's position but he would appreciate having someone thinking on his behalf here and there. And when they meet Mike has this "Mike" mindset where he's by default better than Pete. It doesn't matter what Pete's achievements are, he's still gonna be better because that's just how Mike's brain works.

Pete on the other hand is just kinda glad to have someone to talk that's on the same wavelength as him. He loves his bandmates to death, but sometimes Pete feels like everything he's saying is just going over their heads. He doesn't feel like that when talking to Mike.

((Now is a good time as any to mention that while I'm trying to center this around the original first meeting one-shot concept, there are other angles to them meeting for the first time, but let's stick to one continuity for the sake of this post and your sanity. If you are dying to know you can just send me an ask and I'll talk about it.))

So yeah, Pete feels that he can just say things to Mike, and Mike will get it, which doesn't sound like a lot but for someone who's mind is so full like Pete having someone understand is a fucking gift. And sure maybe they are just a little more "attuned" because they are tripping together, but Pete feels that even if they weren't Mike would get it.

And sure Mike may not understand like half of what Pete's saying, but he'll still fake it 'till he makes it. Mike doesn't care this is Pete Townshend, he'll not be seen as dumber or inferior in any way.

And I think that's one of the most compelling aspects of them, is they they bond mentally way before physicality is even taken into consideration. But the physicality is taken into consideration for sure because lest we forget, this was born under the premise of a horny one-shot. And Mike would be a liar if he said he didn't find Pete's strange looks kind of... fetching in their own unique way.

Maybe because Mike doesn't think he's conveniently attractive either (doesn't help he had to go up against fucking Davy Jones and Peter Tork, and Micky's energy alone made him irresistible) he finds some manner of solace on Pete who's also weird looking, but it's more that Mike was against some stiff competition and less that he isn't good looking. And hello, Pete can totally tell he looks good, and that his accent is pretty damn charming.

=Physical Attraction? In My Conceptual Sex?

OK since I am here I have to talk about them being attracted to each other on a physical level too because heck, they are only human.

Pete likes Mike's accent and the way he talks. He thinks Mike's Texan accent is very charming and kinda hot a bit, maybe. Pete isn't very used to this type of accent very much so it gets to him real easily.

Mike also likes Pete's accent but because he's so soothing and mild when he talks. Mike had to live with the day by day life of being next to Davy Jones of all people so his opinion on British people and their accents soured a bit (no shade to Davy, I love the lil' guy but he's just so overbearing sometimes akjfgakjfg). But Pete changed that idea.

Also, also, Mike being in love with Pete's gorgeous electric blue eyes because of course Pete's blue eyes are a factor why wouldn't they be a factor in a Pete ship like c'mon! And don't even get me started on Mike going bananas about Pete calling him by his full name, which is very much A Thing for this ship like there's a whole different weight when Pete says "Mike" and when he says "Michael" and anyone familiar enough with Pete (specially '69 Pete) could tell you that.

But yeah, it starts off with Mike trying to one-up Pete when he has no idea what he's going up against, but somewhere along the way they end up finding common ground, make out and while they don't want to make it A Thing (they don't want this to be a relationship they literally just met and dropped acid and fucked this is not basis for any solid relationship) there's no denying that they have this very serious connection going on, so they decide to keep some degree of contact after their meeting. You know, just in case.

That is of course until they find themselves calling each other on a regular basis, and Mike sharing music stuff with Pete, and finding it in himself that yeah, he can also just do his own thing, fuck you.

And look I'm not saying that Mike's sudden creative burst with the First National Band was influenced by him having mind blowing sex with Pete Townshend while high off his mind and bonding with him and sharing creative ideas with him, but I am saying that the first two National Band albums were released in '70 and Tengo Amore is there so I rest my case.

=Only I Do Not Rest My Case Because The Prison Exists

I promise you all this is the last section of this!

So they remain A Thing. Pete and Mike are sharing creative thoughts over letters and phone calls, and having nasty (yet somehow still very soft) sex when either of them has like a second to spare from their daily lives to fly over and visit.

Because now Mike's trying to make up for lost time and release every song he didn't release for the past like three-four years in one-two and Pete's influence just fuels that fire. And Pete is now expected to live up to Tommy's expectations so it's not like he has time to spare either but Mike's excitement and different approach to music is refreshing and a much needed respite during Pete's creative process.

Mike hears Pete talk about the concept of Quadrophenia, and Mike becomes enamored with the idea of a narrative told through music. Sure when he heard of/listened to Tommy it was already an idea in the back of his mind, but it wasn't like he could just do something like that.

But now it's '72-'73 and all bets are off.

Pete is glad that he has someone to talk to about the more intricate concepts of music making, but he's also excited when he hears from Mike that he wants to pursue something similar. Mike knows that whatever he does is not going to compare to whatever Pete's doing. Pete had years to prepare for this. Mike is just now given this big freedom so he's just doing stuff and hoping something will stick.

Is Mike still jealous of Pete? Maybe, but at this point it has become more friendly rivalry than anything. (look Mike finally learned he doesn't need to be top dog in every little thing to be worthy of value)

Mike still goes through with it, the success of Quad emboldening him to keep going. There's clearly a market for whatever Pete's doing and Mike finds it refreshing and reassuring.

Then '74 rolls out and The Prison comes out (and honestly, in my eyes it's one of Mike's finest works, I'm always blown away by how good it is, and honestly I always forget this album is 70's because it sounds so much more "modern" and I don't know how to explain it).

Pete is excited to hear about it when it comes out (Mike was sure to call him the day before the release so he wouldn't forget!!!) and from them on they just keep in touch. They aren't dating (at least not in this timeline of this ship) but they sure as hell have a connection that they maintain throughout the years.

So yeah chronologically speaking this all somehow makes sense, isn't that weird?

the way when Mike has fallen head over heels in love with someone, much like with everything else, he doesn’t know how to do things halfhearted, especially when he trust the other person. it doesn’t matter if he could potentially get hurt or if things are complicated, he will put all his soul and heart into loving his partner ( & give parts of those away ), allowing them to see part of himself that are usually carefully hidden away and not many know they exist, because he wants them to see wholly, without any wall, despite how scary it is for him to allow himself to be vulnerable in front of someone else. if he falls in love, he is there for the whole damn ride, good and bad road.

also he is an affectionate asshole. laying with his head on his partner’s lap? absolutely. fingers always reaching out for fleeting touches when passing them by? yes. always find a reason to hold hands? yeah. draping himself over their back? you bet. he also loves to be the small spoon but that’s a small detail.

man i was thinking about stancy and how people are being too hard on them and the shippers and then i started thinking about mileven, you see i liked them a lot in s1 and s2 but then s3 happened and that changed, but what i realized after all the hell i'm going through as a stancy shipper is that i was being too hard on mileven, when we dislike something we can be really blind, i made so many posts in 2019 about how annoying s3 mileven was, that mike didnt cared about his friends anymore (which wasn't true) but u see, can u really blame them for being clingy in s3? they spent 353 days apart, he thought that she was dead even tho he still called her everyday, can u imagine if someone you loved so much, and thought they were dead, came back? i would be EXTRA clingy, and no matter how many mistakes mike makes he ALWAYS apologizes, and yes sometimes i can be unfair with mike too, we shouldn't forget that he's only 14 and he's also going through some stuff, and after vol 2 we saw how he thinks el is way too good for him and if he said that he loved her and she dumped him he would be extremely heartbroken, he's really insecure :( and about the whole i love you thing, i was also being unfair with mike, i made fun of that and all, but if u think about it being this vunerable sometimes can be scary, and it must be way more scary when you're 14 and you feel insecure, el wrote so many letters saying how her life was amazing in california, how happy she was like? even though he knew that she loved him he was probably thinking that she doesnt need him anymore, and one day she'll be bored of him bc of how amazing she was.... guys struggling to say ily to the girl they love has been a trope for years now, remember in that 70s show how donna confessed her love to Eric and how nervous he was even though he loved her back, the "i love cake" scene 😂 also ricky from hsmtmts, he loved nini so much but he didnt have the guts to say it, and many more examples..... the monologue is also something i was being unfair, i made fun of it and all, do i think it could be more well written? yes, ofc, but it wasn't that bad, it gave el the strenght to not give up, and made mike finally be vunerable with el, saying i love you when the person you love is in danger is also an old trope btw, so yeah i just needed to get this off my chest, i still dont ship them (i think they are cute tho they just dont give me the buzz you know?) but for now on before judging their scenes i'll try to understand them better, and i feel like everyone who's hating on them should too, never forget: THEY'RE ONLY 14, they aren't perfect, they will make mistakes and learn from them.

That's right, not Beverly. Patti has one(!) chapter and somehow I fell in love with her character while reading it. She's got her own story before Stan and she's got a very very very beautiful relationships with him.

(I'm so in love with Uris family I mean whyyyy can't I just have some Stan with his pretty wife and a CHILD THANK U VERY MUCH)

OK, let's talk about it. I was kinda neutral to everyone in the Loser club except Richie for a year or more. Then while being in fandom I fell in love with these guys like with everyone of 'em concluding Bill. But when I decided to actually read a book... why is he so stupid and careless and fjligvdsvfuklugxseggh

I saw mini series some time ago and that was cute and had a lot from the book (and abult Eddie-) but it was so naive and looked kinda stupid (sorry everyone but I'm the new auditory and I can't get that seriously especially after new films) while new films... Weeelll...

Let's be honest, I saw It 2017 only bc of James McAvoy in the second chapter and I found it boring. And then the second part I found more like a comedy than horror. I didn't like films that time but I liked characters (Richie). Some weeks ago I rewathed both It 2017 and It 2019 and second one is still too long and a comedy but first I found interesting

So remake is great at least on the second time watching and that's enough

7. Reddie?

8. Ben of Bill?

Why do u need to ask such difficult questions?? I mean, I love every version of Pennywise no matter if it's book or 1990 or 2017-2019 they all are great in their own ways

So both Tim and Bill have an extreme charisma, different but equal in power

I like Tim's Penny bc he's simple and warm I mean c'mon I would definetly hug him or anything and die happy, I mean, he just got ur trust??? And I like how bad effects make him seams not like an awful monster who will eat u but like a friendly mischief (listen me up: he makes sink dirty right after Bev cleaned it up like phhhhhhhhahaha really u're a moron u know). Yeah, that's not that Pennywise is meant to be but that's adorable

And I love Bill's version bc he does look scary (in a some way, of course). Yeah yeah new effects are doing their work and the costume is less friendly than Tim's but the most important is Bill's acting. His mimic and expressions are perfect he fits this role way too good. And, damn, he's so funny like... Yeah, I'd spend my last minutes with him he's great, that would be the most hilarious death I could ever get

So... can I just say both??

Richie. The funniest guy ever. I would go to his stand-up. I would buy his merch. I would buy hi- AHEMAHEM

Seriously, I found him irritating watching 1st movie first time but after 2d started I've changed my mind he's a diamond that makes films better like he's the only reason I didn't fall asleep while watching 2d part

14. Worst character fear

OK, let's say we don't count the book here. Bc, u know, the fears in the book was, well, like actually kid's fears. Like someone just saw a horror film great now they've got a deep emotional trauma that's like kids work.

She was basically a fake identity created to harass """the populars™""" like if u heard of jaded teenage girl tashalovesnirvana u probably already know what her personality was like, but the td fanbase was basically her origins and it is an incredibly long story to tell u every little thing shes done so a tl;dr would be tasha is basically a harasser/stalker who traumatized a lot of people for many years. like she pretended to be so many other people and was very out for blood lmao. Also she was a fake persona, along w many others, created by the creator of theconfessioncam herself cherri (who hasnt been online since new years 2015) to make everyone miserable for “kicking her out the td fandom”

BUT IF U WANNA KNOW THE FULL STORY IT’S UNDER A CUT CAUSE BOI IS IT LONG AND TYPING IT FELT UNREAL

I already spoke abt theconfessioncam so we'll just skip to the day the person behind it was exposed. The person behind it was called cherri (isabelle was her real name but we all called her cherri bc it was in her url)

Cherri was infamous amongst the fanbase bc she shipped chrindsay and wouldn't understand why others didn't, was mostly anti sj/w, liked and defended the one character who shall not be named at the time people were calling out the issues they had w the character (all ppl calling out the issues being neurodivergent while she was neurotypical also this is discourse i am not willing to touch again so dont even think abt sending asks about this lmao), created the phrase "screw you i'm getting my duncney on" and constantly commenting abt why the fandom was toxic and shit like that. Most people would ignore her at first until after theconfessioncam turned out to be her. Many people presented proof and evidence and now she was public enemy #1 like no one liked her and one night everyone started calling her out for her shit and like she immediately blew up. On everyone. I'm p sure after that night the whole plot started.

So like. Shortly after comes a person called "holly-so-jolly" (who then became holly-smokes-molly for a short period of time in late 2015? 2016? fuck idk but her fame was very short but thats another story)Holly befriended cherri and her group of uglies so fast by always being like "wow fuck the populars"

the populars, a term coined in by theconfessioncam's anons, referred to ppl who would argue a lot abt smthn and others would agree w over well, cherris gang. Anyways holly would almost immediately always start a fight w the populars or say some problematic shit or stan for cherri a lot. I know y'all are wondering what this has to do w tasha but trust me we'll get there lol

A few days (maybe a day or two) after holly joins the fanbase, a new hateblog (SPECIFICALLY MADE TO SEND HATE ABOUT THE POPULARS) popped up. The populars would get anons about the hate blog seeing as it was so brand new that it wouldnt show up in the tag just yet. And these confessions were CRUEL. Like wishing death/murder upon these ppl, encouraging self harm, harassing minors (literally under 16 at the time), ableist comments, racism, transphobia, homophobia like it was all there. Someone else faked a new blog agreeing w these confessions and managed to speak to the new hate blog (this was someone who was undercover and managed to expose the person running that hateblog, which ended up being holly)

Holly then changed her url to winner-challenged to try to impersonate ryan, but them claimed to be other 2 people making an april fool's joke (in february no less lmao) and then she changed her persona completely to desireesparx and tried to pass off as a new person in the fanbase. But it didnt work and she deleted as fast as she came in. Antitotaldramapopulars only lasted one day. On the same day, theconfessioncam was deleted. People suspected cherri was behind all this all to which she claimed she wasnt but we all know the truth lol.

After holly hell, tasha fiasco started. And boy was tasha fucking persistent. Like she came in early 2014, and only JUST NOW DELETED. It is 2017.

Tasha-loves-duncney was ?? I guess ur basic td blogger who just loved duncney? No one had any thoughts of her at first until she made a post about not understanding why people hated mike. So people went on to explain. And i forgot rlly what happened but like tasha started getting more aggressive. Like she would reblog "the populars'" personal posts and mock them, she even added a comment hoping for the person's house to fall on them. Someone then made the "fly away tasha" comment and she CRIED because apparently she had been bullied for having a bird nose and been told that before so it only made the phrase stick. She then made an entire post saying rape wasnt bad or some weird ugly shit like that, and even after that she still had a few ppl supporting her (mostly other anti s/jws in the fanbase and cherris old friends ((also CHERRI WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND OR SEEN! SHE DISAPPEARED DURING ALL THIS LOL))) And that's when we all were all over her and i'm p sure it was when all the hate blogs came back.

I'm not sure if maybe i'm confusing it for another hateblog or if there was another one before this one (or i'm getting the timeline wrong bc is2g tasha deleted and came back so many times) but a confession blog popped up called "camerainthepotty" or smthn along the lines that just seemed to post whatever random weird asks ppl would send them. Then during that night it converted to tdgossipgirls and ?? It was such a weird blog lmao like just like antitotaldramapopulars, it aimed to bully the fandom populars in burn book style ? Tabloid magazine style? Point is we all knew it was tasha lmao and at this point it started to become clear who tasha really was. Whatever hateblog it was it would post fake edited asks allegedly sent by the populars themselves which gave us great classics such as "king bee ryan outtie!"

Anyways tasha liked another populars' personal post and people told her to delete bc it was a super heavy personal post. She claimed it was for support but like she finally deleted. And we were tasha clear for a few months? Weeks? (someone even took the url i think) so she then came back as "tashasbackbitches" and boi was she mad lmao. The whole tag asked her to fly away and she took a screenshot of it and claimed bullying. She then tried to ruin ale//noah day by posting pics of dunc/ney which compared to all she's done this is the most tame thing she had done but ppl were still mad abt that anyways lol. So i think a day later she made the anti-winnerchallenged blog specifically aimed at ryan for whatever reason. She ""accidentally"" made a post for anti-winnerchallenged on tashasbackbitches but like once ppl pointed it out something even weirder happened like it sounds fucking unreal but apparently it was a fake tasha???? According to real tasha??? Who was now back as "tashalovesduncney" with no hyphens?? And going to people's inbox saying that tashasbackbitches WAS NOT HER And that she had proof on her blog bc there was a pic of her holding a piece of paper w her url written on it and also an audio post explaining what happened.

So tashasbackbitches was deleted and now we were stuck with tashalovesduncney. Which at first was??? Idk but the audio post on her blog sounded high pitched like. It didnt sound like no human voice lmao. Also the pic of her had the piece of paper edited in. So someone pointed it out and like. She immediately assumed another ""popular"", cass, had sent it. And when i tell u this tasha was DARK AND OUT FOR BLOOD, I MEAN IT LMAO. Like tasha clung on to cass ever since. She would @ them and all that shit on posts and like. This tasha was out to attack. She would constantly say awful shit abt the populars and @ them in her posts, or she would @ well known anti sj/w blogs (such as p0ppypicklesticks, swimmninda/privilege u name it) and encourage them to slay our sjw asses. Not only that but now there was an anti-deadbyshawn blog to aim hate at cass specifically.

I guess at some point someone else came in the fandom by the name of staceyd123 and was received in many different ways like1. People assuming this was tasha2. People defending her bc she was a minor3. Tasha encouraging her to befriend her

However a lot of ppl started to believe this was a different person. She did befriend tasha and a lot of the ppl in the fandom and bc she was a minor a lot of the older kids protected her from tasha and constantly warned her. Sometime between that antitdpopulars came back and more fake asks were posted, populars were being blamed on for the blog to bring attention to themselves. Not sure if it was earlier or at this exact time but i think it would tie into the next event better.

so tasha and stacey had this BIG FIGHT i guess cause stacey outed tasha for running the new anti populars blog and in this fight tasha blamed stacey for staceys parents divorcing and stacey claimed tasha clipped her toenails in a voice call and like. It was so odd at this point tasha started making fake asks about the people who supported her lmao. Then she would submit herself to blogs to send love to ppl being bullied and then those ppl would fight us and the whole night was a mess. Stacey had deleted and then tasha kept her url. I'm p sure sometime later tasha deleted too?? She came back as a sideblog the next time.

Stacey came back a bit around the same time and ofc had ppl on her side welcoming her back. Almost immediately. Another new persona came in at the time too known as ""fucknmacine18??"" He changed the url to "thechazmeister" or whatever but he was basically a dumb white straight dude fake persona that claimed to have abandoned the south park fandom. Once in the td fandom, he would reblog a lot of the girls selfies and make comments on them also claiming to fall in love w one of the populars? Two of the populars? Idk but point is him being there was. Irrelevant for a while. He would send uncomfortable asks to stacey apparently and also told tasha to fly away/rejected her or some weird shit that happened there idk the story of that but i know tasha was trying to befriend him and flirting w him lmao.

Several hateblogs came out too, one being psychoanalyzing the populars which would reveal incredibly personal information about them (based on their personal posts) and evaluate them. It was a really fucked up blog and no one knew how on earth she managed to get that information. The other one was very tame, it was battleofthepopulars or smthn like that which consisted of the populars being in a td like setting and each being voted off everyday and like. No one rlly paid attention to it lol. In the end when she booted off one of the populars, she ranted that it was bc she had blamed cherri for something she didn't even do. Which was suspicious seeing as tasha wasnt here around that time, meaning this person knew about cherri being exposed as theconfessioncam.

During that same time, tasha was still very much clinging onto cass. Sending them fanmails as she couldnt send asks since she was on a sideblog. Meaning she followed ppl on an unknown main blog. Cass would receive over 200 fanmails a day from tasha. Tasha even changed her blog's url to match cass'. One night tasha got tired of being ignored and blackmailed cass into talking to them, or their friends would be harassed. The main tag was full of tasha posting edited pictures of ryan on the main td tag, personal posts of another one of cass' friends with the read more code taken off. It was a horrible night. But in the end tasha exposed her main blog was staceyd123. Tasha had faked being stacey which would explain how she managed to get the personal information for her psychoanalyzations blog. She explained it was because she was someone who got kicked out of the fandom by “tortellani and the other populars” and that she finally knew what it was like living like a popular. She then proceeded to spam the tag w animal gore knowing it was a heavy trigger for one of the populars. Stacey/tasha then deleted. Never to be heard of until...oh no wait, we almost forgot our buddy chaz.

So chaz stuck around and made dumb posts and like. No one really cared for him. Until he wanted to be seen as a threat so he made a hate blog on american thanksgiving day taking the populars' descriptions on their mobile blogs and making them bad adding racist/homophobic commentary. It was here where he stole 2 urls belonging to two other populars and tried to pass off as them. Cass had remade, but chaz took their current url (hottiemcfright) as well as the tortellani url belonging to the other person who had changed urls to avoid traffic from TiA. So that night chaz. God it was a blur but he pretended to be those two people and filled the tag w a bunch of animal gore. Tumblr did jump on that and deleted him. Chaz was another of tasha's personas so, NOW we don't hear of tasha until february of 2015.

So now under the url: tashalovesnirvana, she sent popular bloggers racist slurs thinking she was on anon and then begged for them not to be posted and theyre posted for everyone to read. No one thought twice about it when the screenshots were going around but eventually ppl in the td fanbase noticed that tasha had sent those. And i mean, you can basically look this up as it spread from just the td fandom to literally all of tumblr knew about her. They made her asks into copypastas. And it got rlly funny bc at some point she didnt even know who kurt cobain was.

Anyways after this mess she deleted but she came back. Except this time tumblr updated the blocking system so it could actually work. And boy did it work well. Tasha did get 15 minutes of fame (or less) again when she came back but everyone would just block her and she would never be heard of again. She was still there reblogging posts from the ppl she hated toLet them know. She would try to get their attention but. The moment she would contact them she'd get hit w the block button. So naturally she brought back her persona "holly" as a stoner girl "holly-smokes-molly" who also had a short lived fame but then, again, people stopped caring after they had blocked her. One of her comebacks was her coming back as a woke feminist but no one else cared about her. Tasha was an old meme, so 2 years ago. No one else gave attention to her.

In 2017 she finally deleted. Like the url isnt even hoarded so that's how u know that it's all done. It took 3 years for her to leave us alone. 3 traumatizing years. A lot of the people involved were minors too.

I know i probably messed up some parts of this or got confused w the many hateblogs she made but like. Trust me when i say that she remade so many times it's hard to keep track of all the weird shit she has done. Also i've been typing this since 8am and i still shake a bit thinking about this lol.
