can't sleep so woe more Renn facts be upon ye

part of why she was cast out so young from her Clan as the extra mage is because the other candidate was the Keeper's son (nepotism saves lives)

the Clan's Halla (and horses in general) find the near constant flow and hum of her magic deeply unnerving and shy away from her if they don't straight try to trample her to death

her father made her a stuffed Halla so she'd have a friendly one to play with to try and cheer her up about it

after her father's death, her mother took to isolating her and would lock her in the aravel or tie the tent closed behind her so Renn couldn't follow her out

when she was young, her Clan was forced to ford a rough river and the aravel her mother had locked her in capsized

she almost drowned but the Keeper's son managed to break the wagon open and drag her out

she lost the stuffed Halla to that river

she doesn't like swimming now

while she can swim, she isn't a strong swimmer and dislikes it greatly

one of the few good memories she has from her mother is going berry picking, and she developed a sweet tooth because of it

she also would climb dangerously high up trees before her mother could notice

she still likes to climb stupid high and perch in dangerous places to this day

she makes perfumes and liquid based incense as well as poisons, as a hobby

while she learned magic from the Clan's Keeper, she struggled with most of the common spells and has poor control over all the elements except lightning

she's more self taught with using magic to augment her body in battle, but she lacks enough control to prevent it from degrading her body after heavy use

she learned proper Crow seduction from Teia, Viago just handed her a stack of books and quizzed her about it later

Teia is also the reason why Renn is so openly affectionate with Viago, she was more of a carbon copy of his cold demeanor before the Seventh Talon inserted herself into their lives

she has a soft spot for books and stories about found family and finding love in harrowing times (she tries not to think about the irony in this during the events of the game)

she can cook simple meals and snacks for herself, but pretends to be awful at it so she doesn't have to deal with people thinking she poisoned everything

she actually almost never sleeps in the Meditation Room in the Lighthouse, instead she can be found asleep in the library, dining room, Davrin's balcony, and eventually the Wolf's Room once unlocked

she can fall asleep anywhere almost instantly, but is an extremely light sleeper

because she has a near constant stream of magic cycling through her, she's very sensitive to changes in the air and can use it to sense when someone enters the room with her

this also makes it very easy for her to be overstimulated in crowds and busy places so she mirrors Viago in public by wearing multiple layers to dampen the sensations

she has no desire to take over House de Riva or be a Talon at all, she simply wants to stay at Viago's side to protect him

this is actually a complication for her when she falls for Lucanis

if Viago were to try for the Antivan crown, Renn would abandon the Crows to follow him (and beg Lucanis to wait for everything to shake out)

when she helped Viago claim his seat as Talon, she became known as his Bloody Wolf for how swiftly and brutally she killed his dissenters

she begged him to stop pushing that moniker after Teia showed up, wanting to try and make friends without scaring people away (he agreed only because the House needed to make allies at that point)

her mom used to call her "little pup" and she's only a little frustrated that the wolf petnames keep plaguing her

by the end of Veilguard, Renn's body is so ravaged by her magic she actually can't function as a field agent as much

she's still set on being Viago's bodyguard but she is forced to take a back seat unless he has specific need of her talents

she has a fondness for flowers, especially jasmine which is why it features heavily in her perfume
