oh easily the dirty dawg. having read the prequel manga series i looooooove mad comic dialogue and naughty busters A LOT, i like their dynamics as pairs and as a four person group, their energy is SO GOOD, and i hate how they got broken up AND ALSO the admittedly weak reconciliations. kujaku posse is. less beloved but i like how they're both trying to learn how to be normal people, it's a good way for jakurai and ramuda to bond. the stuff with tdd is... kinda lame in comparison, and goes too fast!!! the hypmic timeline is well and truly fucked but at least there's a longer sense of time with how mcd and nb bonded together and you can believe their bonds

and related to that, ichiro's characterization. he's so compelling in the prequel manga and then bc he's the designated protagonist/poster boy, he's really bland in the present-day timeline EXCEPT for the bit where he and jiro explain why they need to buy the blu-rays for their fave anime to saburo and saburo doesn't get it, that was funny (i'm in the same boat as saburo tbh)
