it bothers me when the er will automatically deny patients food and water in case they'll need to have surgery, bc even if they Do need surgery, it's clearly not happening any time soon, like they don't need to be fasting for 24 hours or more

#if it's before midnight and you ask me for a water i am 100% giving you water #like you can use discretion here #if it's after midnight it's iffy bc there's a chance they might go to surgery first thing in the morning #they probably won't but it Is possible bc they literally never have the actual time scheduled until they're literally about to go down #but i can still give you some ice chips #food is more complicated bc people often have dietary restrictions #personal
