writing for solar but I wanted to play with formatting outside of what I was actually writing so 👀

17 days since Eclipse had found the partial ruins of the Black Comet in the Soumercan jungle. 17 days since he had torn their sibling from her stasis pod.

16 days since they had begun their journey north again, out of the tangled chokehold of the rainforest.

13 days since they had decided on a name.  Solution, Black Doom had called them. Sol, Eclipse had substituted. Solar, she had chosen, curled up as she was in the late-afternoon sun, basking in its warmth.

10 days since they had slipped at the edge of a sprawling canyon, too excited as she was by the sight. 10 days since Eclipse's heart had first seized in terror for her. 10 days since he'd merged with Cregal and caught them.

8 days since they asked about the Black Arms. 8 days since Eclipse's mental walls came crumbling down.

7 days since she complained about the heat on a cold, cloudless night.

6 days since their first migraine.

5 days since the hue of her skin began to brighten, from blue to green to gold.

4 days since her first nightmare about falling to earth.

3 and a half days since the fever hit.

3 days since the edges of their form almost seemed to pull away from her in tendrils, like the sun's corona.

2 days since they lost consciousness.

1 and a half days since Eclipse realised he had no other choice.

1 day since Eclipse fell at the feet of their older brother, clutching their new-found sibling even as her skin burned away at his own.

1 day since Shadow tried to kill them both. 1 day since Sonic the Hedgehog stopped him.

22 hours since Sonic had bundled her into a red plane and taken off, sporting a nasty bite and laser burn from a panicked Cyzer.

21 hours since Shadow had punched Eclipse in the face. 21 hours since a pink hedgehog had put Eclipse behind her, brandishing a large hammer at his brother.

20 hours since Shadow Chaos Controlled them away. 20 hours since Eclipse was met with angry yelling in the distance, the echidna.

19 hours since Shadow, Eclipse, and Amy had reached the Master Emerald shrine. 19 hours since one black eye became two as a large, mitted paw cracked Eclipse across the face.

17 hours since Solar's form began to materialise again amidst the swirling mass of Chaos energy, barely held together by the master emerald.

15 hours since Sonic the Hedgehog's band of heroes had all gathered before the emerald. Eclipse had the 800 gun barrels that made up the arm of Shadow's pet badnik pressed into his back.

12 hours since the first psychic attack tore through the remnants of the Black Arms' hivemind. 12 hours since Shadow let out a grunt of pain. 12 hours since Eclipse felt his synapses ignite with the force of a direct lightning strike.

11 hours since Tails took two of Shadows' inhibitor rings and clasped them around Solar's now-corporeal wrists.

9 hours since the second psychic attack. It was far weaker than the first. Shadow was adamant it was the inhibitor rings, but Eclipse felt only dread.

8 hours since Solar's form solidified again. 8 hours since Sonic had brushed Amy off when she'd asked if he was okay.

6 hours since Solar's skin had returned completely to its normal hue.

5 hours since most of the gathered audience had retired for the night, save Knuckles, Shadow, Eclipse, and Sonic.

2 hours since Solar began to stir. Cyzer had curled up on her chest.

1 hour since her sleep became fitful. 1 hour since the third psychic attack. Eclipse saw images of space, of a golden hand reaching out as Solar fell back to earth.

59 minutes since Shadow froze up and chaos controlled away.

45 minutes since Sonic began asking how Black Arms were created.

30 minutes since Rhygenta let Sonic pet them, much to everyone's surprise.

20 minutes since Sonic began rambling about how he didn't realise Black Arms could create hybrids, he'd thought Shadow was a special case.

10 minutes since Eclipse grew tired of this interrogation and snapped at him. Rhygenta immediately came back.

5 minutes since Solar's eyes cracked open.

4 minutes since they smiled at the stars twinkling above them.

3 minutes since she reached out a hand to Eclipse.

2 minutes since she spoke her first words aloud.

Brother, I'm so happy you stayed.

1 minute since Eclipse felt his composure fracture. 1 minute since he pulled them into his arms and hugged them with all the force his Black Arms heritage would allow him.
