#if i recall correctly someone working on the show stated that betty's life would be better if she had never met simon

this scene really caught my eye, the way simon wouldnt drop everything to go on the bus with betty when she already did it once to go to the expedition and did it again when she missed the bus to stay with simon even tho one of the biggest part of his character is pinning after betty
and i think thats a deliberatedly decision by the writers too, earlier when fionna said "damn she dropped everything for you", when betty's roomate said "you better not make her miss that bus, the way fionna's smile drop in confusion when simon asked why would he even go with her, theyre really playing up how much their respective travels mean, and consequently how much it means for them to drop it for each other
i think theyre gonna explore more simon's and betty's relationship when taking off the rose colored glasses and i think thats gonna be really interesting

Betty and Veronica
Okay, so Clarence Wiedman wasn’t stalking Veronica or her mom. He bugged her. That certainly makes better sense, even if it is mega-creepy.
Still doesn’t explain why it took her until morning to get there, though.
Veronica, you haven’t been looking for her for a year. You didn’t care where she was until a couple of months ago.
I’m pretty sure that Clemmons really should not be attempting to engage the services of an underaged, unlicensed detective. I’m quite certain that he and the school could get in a huge amount of trouble if anything should happen to Veronica in the process of this investigation.
Aww, Veronica moved her locker next to Wallace! That’s so sweet!
“’On the streets…’ You live on the corner of Pleasant Valley and Marigold.” Yeah, I seem to recall that Mrs. Fennel works at Kane Software and their household has a rental property out back, so it’s probably safe to assume that Wallace hasn’t lived “on the streets” too much in his life.
So if Pan High is so Not-Neptune and Veronica hates Neptune so much, why precisely doesn’t she just transfer? I mean, if it’s close enough for her to drive there on her lunch break, then surely it’s close enough for her to just attend regularly, right?
Betty? Veronica? Riverdale? Oh, Archie comics.
Aww, Veronica’s proud of Wallace, all smiles when the other team is worried about how good he is.
Um? Why did Leanne let Keith wreck their lives by accusing Jake Kane of murdering Lilly if she knew for a fact he didn’t do it? I mean, sure, no one wants to admit infidelity, but as opposed to the current state of their lives, isn’t couples’ counseling or even divorce better? Because I don’t for a minute feel like Jake Kane is the “pay to have someone killed” type, especially not his own daughter. Like I might buy a heat of the moment thing, but if he has a fucking alibi? What the hell?
So the room at the Neptune Grand was just about warning Celeste off? So again I say, why in the living world didn’t she tell Keith that Jake had an alibi?
That had to be Weevil. Called it. “Weevil wanna punch a cracker.”
Weevil’s the one taking all the bets on Neptune, but I can’t imagine he’d be the one kidnapping mascots. Not that he’s incapable of it, just that it’s too convoluted for him to mess with. Being a bookie is generally a profitable enough business without resorting to all this. If Neptune and Pan are already these huge rivals, then I can’t imagine there’s any shortage of bets.
(Also, are all the local schools named after Greek/Roman gods? Because I would love to see Veronica visit Dionysis Middle School.)
“You say following. I say taking a walk with a friend.”
Aww, Veronica makes Wallace’s cookies!
Well, at least we finally understand what it is that made Keith go after Jake. It’s weird that the Kanes didn’t get their story straight. Like, they obviously knew that they were going to be questioned and it would almost certainly come out that Jake had been at the hotel that day so they went with that, but they forgot to figure out the details? Furthermore, why wouldn’t Keith have gotten video from the Neptune Grand that clearly shows that Celeste wasn’t with him when he got there and that she didn’t stay that long?
Are the ugly details of Jake’s alibi taking into account the altered time of Lilly’s death or is this all for nothing? And if it is, then how does Leanne know about Lilly’s official time of death being wrong?
I like Veronica’s takedown of the sort of reflexive, knee-jerk animal rights asshole. Like they seem to be going out of their way show that this girl is just a complete jackwagon and doesn’t really care about the cause but just wants a way to feel superior to everyone else. She doesn’t care that her “friend” has a protein deficiency, she doesn’t care (or even realize) that Polly is a domesticated bird raised in captivity, so you can’t just turn her loose and expect her to be able to care for herself. I know a lot of people like this.
Aww! Veronica loves Wallace!
Today in Hollywood Writers Have No Understanding of How Money Works: College. They would have us believe that in a little over one year of working for Keith, Veronica has saved enough money for four years of state college, a year at Stanford, and a semester at The Sorbonne… which totals up to somewhere north of $250,000, and now that’s all gone because she checked her mom into rehab.
(It’s one college education, Veronica. What could it cost, 10 dollars?)
What are the odds that Veronica manage to spell Amelia DeLongpre’s name correctly just by hearing it spoken once? I can barely spell it right when I’ve got the video paused in split screen.
Well, I mean, I assumed Abel Koontz had a family that he was leaving whatever he was getting paid for confessing to the murder. I’m not sure why Veronica seems so surprised.
It really is about time that we got a glimpse of what Wallace gets out of his relationship with Veronica because thus far it really only has been him doing her favor after favor, any of which could potentially get him in serious trouble. It’s nice to see that Veronica is actually a good friend to Wallace.
I know I’ve said in the past that this show doesn’t mess around when it comes to the stakes of its cases, but to be honest, it is nice to see a case here and there that aren’t life and death.
