gueeeeehhhhhhhhggghhhhhhhhhhh i wanna write a sonadow sickfic but like. The Logistics.
#:p#tails would have to be there ofc. which would actually be really interesting#at the end of the train of thought; my conclusion is that i'd have to make it part of a longfic#which is fine until you realize i suck absolute ass at those#i forget; is it even canon that shadow can heal ppl or was it just a cool popular hc?#like i haven't seen it in the games but Also i haven't seen all the games; tv; or comics#mannnnnn i just want a moment of abnormal tenderness where rather than being battle- or game-focused they're sharing a physical-#-vulnerability accompanied by emotional intimacy#but there's no in-character way i can presently think of that would make shadow even show up; much less actively help tails take care of him#maybe he could be the one to find him passed out and take him back to tails? but there'f have to be some reason why he'd need his help#hm. maybe he takes him to club rouge first and calls tails from there; then when sonic wakes up tails tells him how he helped#that feels more accurate to me#the question then is; is shadow the type to make the most logical decision; or would he make an emotional one First?#furthermore; iirc he was on rouge's Couch when he was ill. i do that when i'm sick; but it could imply that he doesn't actually live there#if he doesn't; there's not as much precedence for him to take sonic there first#i'm digesting food and a little dehydrated. will have to revisit this later

As much as making predictions for IDW is pointless (but hey, maybe it can be fun to see how much the story deviates from its logical consequences :P)...
I think that in #75 Lanolin will finally discover that her babyboy Duo lied to her, and Whisper was right all along. She'll blame herself for being stupid, which will cause the others to rush to comfort her with the power of friendship and completely forget about her abusive behavior :)
Now, if the story was logical, this should be the breaking point for Lanolin. She was duped. She was stubborn. She was bossy, violent, and terrified the others (nevermind that it doesn't make sense). She always got in the way. No one cares that Sonic broke the rules, her oh so precious rules, because people inherently trust Sonic in a way they can't trust her, not anymore. She was useless and a terrible teammate.
These would be the perfect circumstances to make her reflect on her approach on heroism, and how flawed it is. Even assuming that she meant well at first, she did everything wrong. She should feel bad about herself! She should strive to be more relaxed and accepting of things that don't go the way she expected!
... but after ABT drew her getting so close to shooting Sonic because it's all his fault the world is shit, apparently, I doubt she's ever gonna change. She will join Surge in spreading the idea that Sonic upholds an unfair system of harm for his own amusement and she's just a poor victim of it.
Sometimes I feel like when I speculate about possible directions the comic could go in, I'm giving the writers too much credit. I'm thinking about the story too rationally. I'm thinking of it as if it is a story written by competent creatives who want to craft a narrative where the characters act believably and consistently. And the comic has repeatedly demonstrated that it is not capable of doing that even when it tries.
If I had to speculate entirely based off of this cover, my guess would be that Lanolin is going to demand Sonic be "brought to justice" only for literally everyone including Jewel to say uhhh no? And that is going to cause her to become disillusioned, especially since she interprets Tangle and Whisper hiding the truth from her as them "protecting a criminal." So Jewel ALSO being "in on it" would be interpreted further as a betrayal. The Restoration has lost its way, it as an organization revolves around this one crazy guy who is never held accountable even when he does something wrong. Duo's reveal as Mimic will either further contribute to that, OR he'll tempt her to the dark side and she'll take off with him to go become a villain.
But again that's me thinking about it in terms of what I think would actually make sense to happen based on the preceding events and characterization. Frankly this comic is so badly written and makes so little sense that it's almost unpredictable. I do think it's a pretty safe bet no matter what though that Lanolin is NOT going to grow and change and be inspired to become a better person. I think it's a pretty safe bet that she's going to start reciting the IDW gospel that Sonic Is Bad Actually. And the "fans" of the comic will eat it the fuck up.
Because this comic is written BY people who hate Sonic, FOR people who hate Sonic.

Let's say Metal Sonic succeeds in his decades-long obsession to destroy the actual Sonic. What does he even do after that?
This assumes Metal Sonic has free will. That he can break free of his programming and define his own purpose. He's very advanced for a robot, and Eggman has created other robots that have also developed something resembling free will, but none of this is organic so there's no real precedent that all robots made by Eggman are created equally. Some can talk, some can't, and some are obviously more simple than others.
You could even consider the fact that Metal Sonic used to be able to talk, in Sonic Heroes, which is also the only time he demonstrated anything close to free will. Since then, he just makes scratchy, warbly synthesizer noises. It could be seen as Eggman intentionally downgrading Metal Sonic to keep him under control. Everybody likes to paint Eggman and Metal Sonic as having a cute father-son relationship, but there's definitely a lens there to see Metal suffering some kind of debilitating punishment for being too rebellious.
At the same time, Metal Sonic's whole thing is that he's made to see himself as a twisted copy of Sonic. His dialog in Sonic Heroes reflects this, as do the brief moments of personality we see in the comics -- there's a particularly great scene in IDW during the Metal Virus Saga, where Metal Sonic, having seen the real Sonic become infected by the virus, willingly tries to infect himself and finds that he is immune.
It's a small moment, but it's kind of powerful. Metal Sonic suddenly pulling his hand back at first, almost as if he's worried, and then the quiet reflection when nothing happens. It's almost sad. He is confronting his own artificiality. "Sonic is infected, but I am Sonic, so why can't I get infected?" Some piece of him is struggling.
If he kills Sonic, assuming Metal Sonic doesn't just immediately shut down due to lacking an objective, I assume he'll just... take up the mantle as the new Sonic.
Does that mean fighting against Eggman? Probably not... at first. We've seen before that there are times where Sonic's personality starts to manifest more or less in Metal at times, so with Sonic out of the picture, I could see Metal slowly connecting with a desire to be protective of people and things that aren't Eggman, undoubtedly leading to a conflict when Eggman's selfish desires get in the way.
I imagine Metal Sonic wouldn't be able to do anything to disobey Eggman directly (Eggman installed too much security for that), but maybe Metal Sonic could just, like... get away. After all, without a Sonic, Eggman doesn't have much need for a Metal Sonic anymore (and vice-versa). Even though Eggman himself has driven the father-son dynamic between them, maybe he'd view it as Metal "growing up and setting out on his own" -- even though, from Metal's perspective, it's about his desire to become Sonic conflicting with his internal security protocols. Something inside of him is saying to do things one way, but another part of won't let him fulfill that directive.
All he knows is that it stops happening when Eggman isn't around, so he eventually leaves and never comes back. He carves out a little existence for himself somewhere far, far away, where he can feel helpful, and that satisfies something inside of him.

Oh GOD this was a disappointment. And yeah, spoilers or whatever. I don't really care.
Get it out of the way, this was not the Knuckles show, this was the Wade show. Too much Wade. Too much. Way too much. It's annoying. Look, I liked him in the movies, he did a good job there because he wasn't the main focal point, and in the first couple episodes I could excuse how he acted.
But no. OH NO. After episode two, he just got so bad. Taking the spotlight from, frankly, the MUCH better character. Episode one set a perfect precedent for how the series could have gone. But nope. They threw it all away.
Then by episode five, they've literally made Knuckles a side character. In the show that's NAMED AFTER HIM. Oi vey.
This really should have just been named Wade. But no, if they named it that, it wouldn't get the people watching it. Because no-one likes Wade. He's a side character; keep him as such. He went from ok in he movies, to tolerable in the first two episodes, then 3-6 he became full on egotistical.
I wish Knuckles had been the main character. I wish he'd been given the spotlight. I was so looking forward to it. I was looking forward to watching something about him, learning about him and how he interacts with the world, how he comes to terms with his inevitable home in Green Hills. I wish he'd had more interactions with Sonic and Tails. But they're thrown out after episode ONE. After that, it's random unimportant person after random unimportant person. Seriously think this show had been written and voiced by AI. Because it's just that bad.
And I haven't even gotten to the lackluster villains. I know they're supposed to be important and everything, raise the stakes, but they're really not. Just generic "bad British woman and coloured man to show diverse cast". I mean, they literally tossed a man, who was white and blonde, into the Mushroom planet with no reason whatsoever than political stuff, I'm sure. And they tarnish the good name that Jim Carrey made playing as Robotnik. Even if he isn't in the show (thank god), they treat him like he's nothing more than a commodity, someone to link to every bad thing that G. U. N does.
Oh yeah, haven't mentioned that yet. They're using THAT G. U. N. Y'know, the one that's supposed to be super powerful and secretive that, for hopes of Sonic fans, will be treated with respect in the 3rd movie? The one that offed Maria Robotnik and drove Gerald crazy and started Shadow's entire character arc? That G. U. N. They aren't even given that much screen time. Two episodes, then they're tossed away until episode five. And the woman is all "oh woa is me, I wasn't listened to because I'm a woman and the place I work for is misogynistic and I was given a desk job to keep me safe waaa"
And the ending. Oh boy. Ok, to put it in simple terms, I'd call the ending of season one (and hopefully the series), stupid. For 6 episodes, they had a chance to grow genuine chemistry between Wade and Knuckles, to give them a chance to get along. To give them a reason. And you'd think with a series like Sonic whose games are rife with dark and mature themes, they'd explore it. But nope. It's just the first movie, remade with Knuckles and Wade, but done so much worse. The Jewish stuff wasn't important. The dad abandonment wasn't needed. It's important to Knux, I know, but Wade didn't have to have it too just to find a way to relate.
And guess what? His dad is another white blonde man! Because they're just the devil in the media these days! I'd say he's British too but it doesn't contribute to the story. He's treated like a narcissist, an uppity person (like apparently all people are when they're repeat winners in a certain sport or game). god forbid a man be proud of himself.
They also did that one scene from the Sonic movie where they faked Knuckles' death, and Wade made an attempt to stand up but failed because he's a useless character. Then he said some stupid crap that he apparently "learned", even though he really didn't.
Shit like this makes me wish that the movies didn't exist.
0/10, don't recommend.
Please, for the sake of your sanity, don't watch this. Or if you do, have a pallet cleanser handy. (The jokes are awful, you'll definitely need it)
And for the comments that'll say it's for kids, the characters use a huge amount of swear words, so that rebuttal holds no ground.
