#if for some reason you cannot do any of these things

I am against locking stories becase of this, It is pointless! There will be some idiot who sends an email, waits, and waits, and waits, for days or weeks or months, then gets the account and starts scaping away on those locked fics. It is so utterly pointless. I do not see the point in locking fic.
This is so performative in nature locking your stories up and winding down your audience. Do you know how rare it is to get interaction from readers? Do you? Do you? Once you lock your fics and keep doing that, there's no going back!
Those readers are not coming back! You're burning your audience because you think the AI are better than you even after consuming data, there's no personality in them, there's no desire in them, this is just the general impression I am getting--you think ais are better than you.
These ai do not have soul, they cannot replace you, they cannot get better, they cannot under any circumstance replace the human hand. Ais are capable of slipping up big time. If they write, they will be the amalgamation of so many stories and things will get mixed up-- the point is, stop it!
you are surrendering to things that do not have soul by doing it in exchange for losing a good option for people to comment without leaving their usernames behind.
People have good reasons to be guests.
For example, being blocked for commenting and leaving kudos on something dark or problematic long by another writer before coming across that work, unable to comment, or being attacked relentlessly for what they love to read online, being cancelled, they don't want to be part of the fandom, being alienated by those in the same fandom, for God's sake, it's just not worth closing that avenue for those who don't want their fandom experience ruined.
These people are not lazy so stop it.
Closing them off from being able to share that they loved the fic.
We are better than AIs.
Do I care about my fics being scaped? No, not really. I just don't give a shit. Why?
All it does is provide another dangling thread to be noticed that this isn't a person.
Do I care about a kudos bot lurking on one story? Yes, totally, locking it until the whole thing is over and forgetting about it until checking on it!
If you really want to protect your work --with your argument-- then lock your newer works, the old works are already scaped, it cannot be scaped again.
I cannot believe i had to see this unintentionally while browsing on another tag to a fandom instead of having to see it on reddit or on the a03 tag on here searching it myself.
AO3 has been scraped, once again.
As of the time of this post, AO3 has been scraped by yet another shady individual looking to make a quick buck off the backs of hardworking hobby writers. This Reddit post here has all the details and the most current information. In short, if your fic URL ends in a number between 1 and 63,200,000 (inclusive), AND is not archive locked, your fic has been scraped and added to this database.
I have been trying to hold off on archive locking my fics for as long as possible, and I've managed to get by unscathed up to now. Unfortunately, my luck has run out and I am archive locking all of my current and future stories. I'm sorry to my lovelies who read and comment without an account; I love you all. But I have to do what is best for me and my work. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi there!!! I absolutely love your Cat-Satoru series (and literally all of your other works too) and I was wondering if we could get a oneshot where Suguru and reader get into a fight so reader doesn’t come around for a while and cat Satoru gets really sad and misses them until they make up?
hi bb thank you sm <3 oh I am loving writing silly stuff about them hehehe I'll try to reflect your vision through my words best to my abilities ^^

Suguru hates fighting with you. Because he knows how petty you are, and how much pettier you can get. Unfortunately for the both of you, he is no less petty.
He holds grudges like he holds a mean grip on your waist in crowded places. So what happens is that poor Satoru gets caught in the crossfire. And the poor thing never understands, despite amazing comprehension of human language, why are you two even fighting in the first place?
If you asked Satoru whether fighting over bedsheets was a valid reason or not, he'd say a big—"MEOW!"
‘NO WAY!’
I mean that day when he woke up under his favourite coffee table, after an amazing nap, to you and Suguru shouting at each other, he just sat between you two with his head tilted and nose twitching.
"YOU CANNOT JUST KEEP USING THESE BLACK SHEETS! I WANT SOME COLOR! AND SILK IN SUMMER IS THE WORST!" You pointed at the bunched up black and shiny sheets on the bed.
"YOU CANNOT JUST CHANGE THEM WITHOUT ASKING ME?" There was a pile of pink cotton sheets right beside the black silken ones.
"Oh. So now I have to ask you before doing you a favour and changing your sheets to better ones?" Sure your voice lowered, but that did not mean you were feeling any more clam than before.
"This is my bed. So yes. You should've asked." Suguru stated as a matter-of-factly.
"Hmm. Alright then, sleep well on your sheets all by yourself." And that was all you said before you headed towards the door with your bag in your hands, with no intention of coming back for at least a few weeks.
What pissed you off more and made that week turn into two weeks, was when Suguru yelled from behind you, "YES I WILL!"
And all that was left in Suguru's apartment was his black silk sheets, your scattered belongings, the beeping noise of the rice cooker, and a very disappointed Satoru who could not run fast enough behind you.
The first few days, Satoru was hopeful you'll drop by at least to see him, but he spent three days by the large windows in the living room, and the bedroom balcony, to realize you're not dropping by anytime soon. And like that almost two weeks were about to pass.
And rolling around in your clothes, or pillows was not working for neither Satoru nor Suguru.
"Meowwwww." Satoru butted his head to Suguru's, who spent his weekend lying on the couch, eating barely anything, and smoking more than what he usually does. Work on Monday was equally shitty, teaching kids suddenly became headache inducing.
"What do you want, Satoru?" Suguru grumbled and changed the show playing on his tv.
"Meowwwww meowmeow." If someone looked close enough, it almost looked like this white fluffy ball of meows was pouting.
Suguru sighed in response, as he has been for the past week, to Satoru's howling meows, and tantrums. "She won't just show up if you meow enough to make my ears bleed."
"MEOW! Meow meowmeow!" Satoru was truly a cat of many abilities, because why is giving relationship advice to his hopeless owner? 'CALL HER! Just call you dumbass!'
"Yeah well she is not responding to me." Suguru changed to another show.
"MEOW! Meow, meow meowmeow." Which translated to something like, 'YEAH DUH! Go over to where she is hiding.'
"Please Satoru. Just go to bed to wait by the window like you always do or something, I'm on the verge of losing it." He just turned the tv off, and laid flat on his stomach, face smooshed in the couch cushions, and ignored Satoru.
"Meow." Satoru jumped off the couch and walked away from Suguru's pity party. 'Hopeless.'
He walked with intention, to find Suguru's phone. Which was charging on his nightstand. Satoru maneuvered carefully from the floor to bed, then bed to the nightstand, tapping his paw all over the phone.
He had no clue what he was doing, all he knew was that sometimes when you were away for work or anything, Suguru would hold the strange box near Satoru and you'd talk through it. And he desperately needed to hear your voice right now, and also convince you to come back.
Somehow Satoru managed to call Suguru's emergency contact, which fortunately happened to be you.
Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ri-
"Hello?" Your voice sounded groggy from the other side, Satoru was not sure whether it was because you cried like you do while watching sad movies, or like when you played the strays with him and then cried while hugging him. Or that you were just sleepy.
"MEOW!"
"Satoru?"
"MEOW! MEOWMEOWMWOW MEOW!"
"Is everything alright? Where is Suguru? Did you call me by yourself?" You were starting to feel worry creeping into your chest.
"MEOWWWW MEOW." Satoru at this point, what sounded like, was basically crying.
"Are you two ok?" You immediately got off your bed, and reached for your pants and jacket.
"MEOWWWWW! MEOWWWW." Satoru did not mean to worry you, but if his meows were about to get you back here, then sure.
"I'LL BE THERE IN 15 MINS!" And with that you hung up the phone, to grab your keys, then drove down to Satoru and Suguru's place.
When you haphazardly got to Suguru's door, to open it with the key he gave to you—Satoru was sitting there, in front of the door, waiting patiently for you to arrive. As if he understood your panicky scramble, when you told him you'd be there in 15 mins.
“Meow! Meow!” He quickly tangled himself in your legs, as you stepped out of your shoes.
“Hi Toru, how have you been?” You crouched down to pick up the cat in your arms, which he gladly obliged. No place better than your arms.
He felt just a bit more thinner, his fur felt rougher than usual, and the way he was nuzzling and purring in the crook of your neck, it was clear how much your presence was missed. You did not mean to ignore Satoru in the midst of your fight with Suguru, but your pride held you back from opening the front door with the key you were given. Even when you made it that far, you just could not step in.
Upon walking into the living room, you saw Suguru lying on the couch. His clothes, and hair looked disheveled. There were visible bags under his eyes. And now you could match the pleading tone in his texts, that he's been sending for the last few days, ro his pitiful state.
You cleaned up the living room, turned the tv off, gave Satoru somlove and treats. And went to the bedroom to grab a blanket for Suguru, where you found his bed which was not made, and was decorated with the cotton sheets that started this entire thing.
So you cleaned up the bed, grabbed a blanket for yourself and Suguru, and fluffy enough for Satoru to sleep on as well—and headed to the couch.
In the morning when Suguru woke up, to Satoru’s butt and tail in his face, he was ready to kick the poor kitty out of his house, when he felt arms tightening around him. He found your face shoved into his chest, holding him tightly, legs tangled up with his, and Satoru’s head resting on yours.
“You're gonna keep staring?” Your voice rumbled through his chest, as you asked him the question without looking at him. It took him some time to gather the courage to speak to you.
“I am so sorry baby.” His arms tightened around you, and he rolled over to have you lie on top of him, as he nuzzled his face in the crown of your head.
“I know. I am sorry too.”
“You don't need to be. I was way out of line.” You just needed to understand where he was coming from, Geto Suguru does not function as a unit, but he is learning. He learned how to have Satoru in his life, and he's now learning how to have you in his life.
“Meowwww.” The moment was broken by a hungry cat’s whining, who required food and your attention. So Suguru once again faced Satoru’s fluffy butt, and tail that made his nose itchy.
“SATORU, I AM SO CLOSE TO LOCKING YOU OUT IN THE BALCONY!” Suguru screamed at him, and went to grab him. But alas, couldn't match Satoru's agile, feline movements.
“Meowmeow meowwww.” And it made you realize just how much more you kissed these two than what you thought. As you sat on the couch, watching Suguru run after Satoru.
‘Catch me if you can, loser.’

Hi! I would love to ask if you know any fic where Stiles and Derek are childhood friends/grew up together, but their pack is absolutely clueless and blind about that fact? Thank you <3
P.S. Love your works so much!
Oh, thank you! ❤ Here you go!
This Has Always Been Real For Me… by SunflowerQueen (Always_MimiTs)
Childhood best friends Derek and Stiles fell apart after the fire, but as canon begins things change, they find their way back to each other. Five times they have to pretend to date to get them out of uncomfortable situations and the one time they admit to each other and themselves that it's always been real for them.
Secret Life of Stiles & Derek by thebigoblin
A couple minutes pass by, the world on the screen the only noise, but then Stiles turns around again. He doesn’t say anything, but Derek understands anyways and feeds Stiles. It makes him satisfied in a way he’s both thrilled and concerned about, which basically sums up his life. But in this moment he focuses on Stiles, and the intimacy of their trust, the way Stiles allows him to provide for him. The way Stiles trusts him with these small things, and when it matters, with the big things. Like Stiles’ life. This time, a murmur kick starts between the betas. Mainly Isaac and Erica, who are trying to tamp down their curiosity but are unable to do so. Boyd isn’t into the gossip, but Derek sees him watching them a couple of times. On the other hand, he can smell Scott silently fuming, and Allison’s gentle scraping along his scalp, his arms. Trying to control him. Anchoring him. Derek smirks, unable to help the way his chest expands with possessive pride.
Lead You Home Again by GotTheSilver
The first time Derek meets Stiles, the kid’s brown eyes are wide, and he’s staring up at him with a mischievous grin as he tugs at the arm of Derek’s first ever Batman figure like he’s trying to separate it from Batman’s body. An alternate take on Teen Wolf, wherein Stiles and Derek are childhood friends, and things unfold from there.
Hear The Wheels As They Roll by crossroadswrite
"You can’t be here. This is private property,” someone calls out and for some reason that voice sounds painfully familiar. When it hits him why, Stiles almost chokes with the realization, “Derek Hale,” he says, unbelievably happy because he remembers Derek when they were young. Derek looks grumpier, sadder, angrier. Stiles can’t really fault him for that. He also looks surprised that Stiles knows who he is. He squint/glares suspiciously at him, his nostrils flare for a second before he widens his eyes almost dramatically. “Stiles,” he says quietly, like he can’t really believe it. Stiles beams, “Yeah, you remember me!”
Wild Ones by dragontreasure26
At fourteen years old Stiles Stilinski said goodbye to his best friend Derek Hale as he left Beacon Hills for good; he never expected never to hear from him again, but now Derek has returned to track down the Alpha responsible for his sister's death and Stiles once again finds himself immersed in the dangerous world of the supernatural. This is essentially a re-write of Season 1 as if Derek and Stiles knew each other from childhood). This fic has two stories interwoven one set in the past and one set at the time of Series 1 events. It's also an epic slow burn/friends to lovers … because I just love that sort of thing!
Until I Wrap Myself Inside Your Arms (I Cannot Rest) by EvanesDust, flymeofftoneverland
It’s been two years since Derek returned and, so far, he’s kept his promise. He's never left again. But, as far as Stiles is concerned, he might as well have never come back.

Hi Jenna,
Do you have any specific tips to offer for writers? I feel like I can make the vibe of a scene come through very well, but the idea of what is actually happening suffers as a result.
I guess a more specific question might be 'How do you describe how something feels without the comprehension of the scene suffering, or becoming overly verbose.'
-Thanks, Skane
As the famously concise and universally comprehensible Jenna Moran,
First, I should say that you must write for yourself. Trying to be clear to a set of notional readers will not make your writing clear. It will make your writing convoluted and afraid, and even more people will misunderstand.
This is a problem. Sadly I cannot at this time fix the world.
You can try technical exercises. You can try having as many interesting conversations as you possibly can. You can look for a writing club of some sort.
It helps to be safe. If you cannot be safe, it may help to be angry.
It helps to be valued. If you don't have that, it may help to work with slow dedication and accept things take time.
It helps to have people read bits of your drafts and work and enjoy them. If you cannot have that, let yourself read and enjoy them yourself?
I do not have more direct solutions right now.
**
As to your specific concern:
I will give a bad solution. Then I will talk about it.
You can describe how something feels. Then, describe the scene. One, then the other. Both things are now perfectly clear.
... or as clear as you can make them.
There are two reasons that's usually bad. The first is pacing. The second is language.
Why would you want to describe them at the same time? Why not one, then the other?
Usually, because they are a single event.
We experience "this happens, and I feel this" simultaneously. So separating them when you write misstates the experience(s).
They're not just accidentally simultaneous. They intertwine.
Knowing that, it becomes false to present one, then the other. In a linear present-tense narrative that does a deep dive on both mood and action, we must first present the beginning of the conjoined mood/action experience. Then the next bit. Then the next, and on to the end.
If the reader becomes impatient, they become impatient with the experience. Loosely speaking, the fault may be in your choice of which events to describe, and in how much detail ... or in them.
If the reader cannot parse something, it is your description of that portion of the experience that they cannot parse. Loosely speaking, the fault may be in your wording, or in them.
If we look at what you must present as a stream of experiences, then in at least one sense it becomes simple:
Identify whose experiential stream you want to share. Think through what they experience as a set of sentence-sized pieces. Present them one by one.
Thus for pacing.
**
You may discover at this point that you still are not conveying the scene clearly. That is because what you believe you must convey is not part of the experience. Either change the story you are telling or switch to a narrator with the perspective you want.
You cannot tell this post's story in a way that reveals that I did not eat much breakfast. Not without kind of shoehorning it in. It is not part of this story, even if it possibly should be? My cat came in earlier and drooled on my arm. Shadows only exist in the light. Oatmeal often has gluten. People are good. They should love themselves. I don't even own a shoehorn. I want you to know these things. But telling you right then was a little bit weird.
**
Let's talk about language.
Language is an issue because it likes to do its own thing. You often want the words to echo the experience. You don't want to use the same words over and over again. (At least, not by accident.) You don't want the sentences to sound awkward. You want to pause at natural places but you have to keep your punctuation navigably close to "correct."
It's like, language writhes when you try to nail it down.
It writhes. It screeches and flails. It tears off bits of its skin. It's a problem. That is before we even get to how other people are understanding your words.
If I ever have problems just telling people what happens in order then that is usually why.
I think it can help to read things aloud. Often I replace what I wrote with what I say when I read it. For me, this is only useful poetically. For the technical side---whether I'm communicating too fast or too slow for a reader to follow---it does not help. I have to guess.
I can tell you from experience that you cannot be too obvious. Just being you, when your reader is not you, will add plenty of mystery. Oodles of mystery. You don't need to add any more.
I do not have a great solution for language. I'm sorry.
I don't even know which of my own tricks and habits brought me my audience and which of my tricks and habits drive people away.
If you are riding language and it shies away from the content you have to convey to the reader, probably you have to murder it and find a new, dumber steed. I'm sorry again. The rest of the time, you can maybe just have fun with the ride?
I wonder if it would be better to explicitly state that language is a horse in that metaphor. I probably shouldn't. It goes against my own advice.
So, a scene. Suppose I am eating a banana and I am sad. I expect I would walk to the fruit with a heavy heart. I would peel it. I would look at the inner fruit sadly. I would notice the pale yellow of its color. I would notice the texture. The pores. (Looks up banana images) The long, fuzzy lines. I'd take a bite. I'd eat it. Maybe someone talks in the distance. The banana would be gone. Maybe I'd just stand there a moment. Then I'd pull the trash can out and throw out the peel.
I do not think people will gather around and point at that in shock and call it great writing. I don't even know that it's better than "so, there I was, sadly eating a banana" or "it was the first banana I'd eaten since my grandmother died" or whatever. But I do think that is the correct sequence of experiences.
If I really wanted to talk about grief I'd want to talk about stillness and feelings like rolling clouds and stuff. If I really wanted to talk about eating bananas I'd try to find words for that dull shock of sweetness on the tongue, the way you roll the lump of the bite in your mouth. I can't imagine what would force me to talk about both at once but presumably I'd have to start blending the experiences (this is how you get smoothies).
**
I think I did eat a banana not that long after my grandmother died, for clarity. It was a while ago. I think there were clouds in my chest. Or the sea? I don't know. This constant rolling, shoving motion, soft as water and hard as water both. I don't remember much about the banana, so I can't tell you about peeling it, or about what most of it tasted like. I can't include that honestly because it's not part of the experience, right? And if like the reader doesn't know how bananas work they may be like "wait, aren't bananas in some kind of squishy rubbery casing? And you're just EATING one?" but I can't do anything about that, they just have to suffer in ignorance, they just have to suffer. It's not important to the moment when I ate a banana after my grandmother died that my cat came in years later and drooled on my arm. It's not important that I don't have a shoehorn. It's not important that I'd already eaten enough bananas in my life to know my way around removing the peel. (I'm so cool.) Those things were not part of that moment.
I think my hand was on the counter, which was blue. I think the sky outside the window was grey. I don't think I looked. I just think it was grey. And if you don't know why I had to pull the trash can out, or where the banana was before I got it, or---if anybody did talk in the distance---who might have been talking, or how many bites it took---it's because the only moment there that was actually part of the experience was that first bite, dull and sweet on my tongue.

So many of y'all are focusing on Nicola's eyes in that cursed photo, but a big thing you're missing is her smile.
Nicola has a very specific type of smile she does when posing for photos. Whether it's close-mouthed, parted lips, or showing a bit of teeth, it's noticeable from a mile away. It's meticulous, practiced and perfect.
People say you can tell if a smile is genuine by whether it crinkles the corner of your eyes, but tbh I find it very easy to smile with my eyes on demand and I'm no actress...
What neither I nor any professional actor nor model can do tho, is pose for a candid shot. It simply cannot be done. There is always going to be a certain stiffness when one tries to pose a candid, and that's exactly what Nicola is doing in the photo with Jake.
There's a reason so many people clocked it but can't exactly describe why it's different to all the shots of Nic looking up at Luke with heart eyes. How it's not that she isn't smiling with her eyes (she is), or the dilation of her pupils (that's unreliable at best because we can't know what the lighting was like outside the frame at the exact moment the shot was taken), but it's her photoshoot-ready, posed smile that gives her away.
It's a lovely smile, don't get me wrong, but it's not the kind of smile that comes from the heart. You know, the kind where you're filled with such joy or love that it can't help but shine on your face. No, it's the kind of smile that's been perfected over years of shoots and media-training. It's the kind of smile you keep in your back pocket and whip out at a moment's notice.
And that my friends, is why I know this was some bizarre stunt. I can't tell you for the life of me what their angle is, and frankly I don't give a damn. Because try as they might, Lukola had the truth plastered over their faces during the entire press tour and even recently at SAGs, and it's all in the smile :)
👏👏👏

back in the umemiya x medic!reader roll so have a little drabble i made while procrastinating from all my dues and studying for my exams <3 just a bit of backstory that i had lingering at the back of my mind that i had to get out before i forget it so enjoyy!
wc: 543
original idea/oneshot
i was just thinking about how medic reader and umemiya had been a duo ever since, from middle school all the way to bofurin, to when umemiya became a leader and dragged you up so you could stand beside him at the top of bofurin.
at the beginning, people wondered how the two of you became as close you were, since you were quite different from each other; you were harsh while umemiya was gentle, umemiya was lighthearted while you were serious. you two were like a sun and a shadow, differing, but one cannot exist without the other.
one of the things umemiya was known for was how well he took care of and protected his own people, and you were no exception to it. in fact, it probably tripled when it came to you; every time you both ended up in a fight, he'd be the one doing all the hard work while you just waited for him to finish so you could patch him up.
everyone always wondered why he never let you lift a finger against anyone. it was obvious that you were more than capable of handling yourself despite never proving it, but you never intervened whenever umemiya was fighting, even if he got himself into a sticky situation.
hiragi was the only one who ever got the courage to ask the leader himself about it, when they were alone on the rooftop garden, watching the sun set as you took your turn at tending to the plants, too focused on your task to listen to their conversation.
"don't they know how to fight?" hiragi pointed out, nodding towards you. "why don'tcha let them fight?"
umemiya didn't answer immediately. the hues that the setting sun casted on the clouds was beautiful, an amazing blend of fading blues and vibrant oranges.
but he wasn't looking at that.
he was just looking at you. you, crouched over one of his eggplants, your face focused as you studied the plant.
"the last time i let them fight..." umemiya started, flashes of that day appearing in his brain, "it didn't end well. for either them or the person they were fighting against."
he chose his words carefully; he knew that you didn't want people knowing much about what had happened to you, and why it was enough to make you avoid fighting entirely.
"fighting is a drug," umemiya said, turning away to look at his friend, who was watching him. "those who take it either get numb to its effects or get so addicted to the point where they can't control it."
hiragi glanced at you again, and he seemed to understand.
you used to fight — which was expected, since you were umemiya's right-hand man. something had happened to you, and it affected you enough to cast you aside to the role of a medic permanently.
hiragi didn't ask any more questions after that, opting to just watching the sun fall to make way for the moon.
but he couldn't help but think that the day that he'd see you fight would be a bloody, bloody day indeed.
and he, for some reason, did not want to ever witness that happen, even if it meant bruising his own knuckles to ensure it.

"then running away expecting them to. what exactly" idk maybe dont fucking reblog from him in the future lmao? like if someone sends you an ask informing you that you've reblogged from a terf do you act like a petulant child about being expected not to reblog from a terf. what
I expect to be given actual information? Like evidence? I have this rule about literally everyone. I don't just believe things because someone came into my asks saying stuff, especially on anon.
Now, people HAVE sent me links on what is being accused, which I appreciate. But you should do that WHEN you are telling people "hey, this person has done XYZ." This is a website where misinformation is spread around constantly, and I frankly do not have the time or energy to do a deep dive into the personal lives of every person I reblog occasionally because an anon told me vaguely about some bad things they've done.
I cannot stress enough: I am not saying any accusations are untrue. Clearly this is something people care very strongly about and I understand that. I still do not know much about this because I have been working all day; if anyone reading this is interested, look at the notes on this post.
But communicating these issues vaguely, over anon, without any evidence, is not the right way to go about spreading knowledge of harm. Even if you are being entirely truthful, it's not a good habit for anyone to just believe things because a stranger passionately told them it was true. So I am going to get annoyed when people expect me to drop everything and believe them when they have given me quite literally nothing but an anonymous message online. That's not a reasonable thing to expect people to do.

As with everything, there is always nuance. If you are capable of remaining gentle under every pressure, challenge and injustice seen online, then that is a weapon to cultivate. Hold to it. But most individuals, neurodivergent people especially, do not have that weapon, or priviledge to be gentle daily. It’s not sustainable long-term, forever. I was a young neurodivergent person who loved a lot, and held onto a lot of anger and rage, to the point of impacting my mental health because others “refused to see reason or peace”. Anger can create a space where YOU act out of line and start harassing others too. This is why you NEED to cultivate your online space. Our desire to make a gentle world and our hurt from traumatic events happening everywhere all of the time creates a whirlwind of terror. At some point - you MUST create a space where you HAVE evidence of gentleness and peace. This is why learning to block and ignore - yes, even politically important things - is sometimes vital. You cannot have hope if you surround yourself with despair.
I cannot stop someone from using DNIs. You can use them if you wish. But if you are neurodivergent (which I am a part of this cateogry), it is VITAL that you learn true boundaries. Stepping stones are comfortable. But they also risk putting you into more discomfort. A bully will not care for a neurodivergent person’s DNI. This may be cold, but sometimes it is vital to learn to stand up for yourself. Sometimes, this means recognizing that internet strangers do not, and should not, hold any power over you.
As I said with the call outs - it is always important to use one’s better judgement. Warning someone about a significant figure of power in a very large community is not the same as warning someone about a person who upset you in an RP discord server, for instance.
I say this as someone who has lived…a while. Youth is wonderous and beautiful in its infinite desire to push for change. But experience and knowledge are a balancing act. Human emotion and memory does affect how we will react to adversity. And I promise that if you train yourself to never cultivate a space away from the physical world without despair, it does slowly chip away at your resolve. I speak not from a place of surrender, but from a place of rest, and consistency. You are not pushing a boulder up a hill and cannot stop, else fail. You are walking across a blistering desert. If someone threatens to remove your shade, but you have the ability to click them out of reality - sometimes one must acknowledge that after the hundreth time of telling them that you could share with no positive outcome, you cannot let mercy to a bully come at the cost of yourself, and those you are sworn to protect.
got told at lunch "you feel like Tumblr Incarnate" and i had to tell them i've been here for 13 years and counting. i was here three years before dashcon happened. i saw the mishapocalypse. i survived the gigapause. i've been here longer than the shoelaces post. i've been here since it was hipsters versus fandom and i played both sides extensively by overdoing the sepia filters on everything and making my own flashing galaxy gif edits for my fandom posts. i'm every tumblr. it's all in me

The Scarcity Mindset & Repellence of Mars Influenced Individuals
I get a lot of questions about how Venus is "internally corrosive and externally pleasant" whereas the opposite is true for Mars.
Mars is "externally corrosive" and internally pleasant. What does this mean? Let's dig into it
Mars is a planet that is associated with asymmetry and ugliness.
All Mars ruled nakshatras belong to the Vaishya caste. Vaishya caste is in the middle of the caste hierarchy. They have to earn their keep in society. They don't enjoy the benefits of being upper caste like the Brahmin or Kshatriya naks and they're not outcaste or the lowest caste either, so there's no solidarity there. Being in the middle of the ladder means that you can lose your position or status in society at any time. You worked hard to get where you are and you weren't handed things on a platter like the Brahmin or Kshatriya caste naks, you don't benefit from the privilege of being born into a certain family or background.
However, unlike the Shudra or Mleccha caste naks, you haven't been "othered" by society. So you still enjoy a place *in* society but you have a deep resentment of elites and elitism and anybody above you on the ladder because you feel like they're all super fake and ignorant and you have experienced some amount of bitterness bc while you seem to fit in among people like them externally, you don't feel like you're internally sophisticated enough to be around people like them. This deep resentment and insecurity is a defining Mars trait.
Mars ruled individuals lack refinement externally and they have never known what its like to have "enough" so no matter how much wealth they accumulate or how much they achieve, they still inherently feel "less than" others. This does not prevent them from being cocky or confident or brash, their external demeanour may seem fine unless you put them in situations that specifically trigger them. i have known several Martian individuals, men and women, who are highly educated, well travelled, from families that are doing good but who still for whatever reason, never ACTED like it. I dont mean to say they were humble or modest because they weren't. But they were always a bit insecure about...really random stuff. A guy who made crores would complain about how expensive soup was and how he grew up eating rice and curry like a regular Indian guy and isn't used to all this "fancy" stuff. Mind you, he attended an uber rich private ELITE boys boarding school that several politicians and actors went to and RODE HORSES (fancy rich ppl stuff??) throughout his growing up years but he feels awkward having soup??? bc its suddenly too posh for him???
ive had another friend who once said she's never had french toast. like girl you've lived in multiple countries and have a schengen visa, why are you acting like a french toast is gonna break you 😭😭
this is what i mean when i say Martians lack refinement. they dont know how to behave normally or fit in with the rest of society. they could be MILES ahead of everyone in terms of career, success, wealth etc but they do not know how to physically act like it. it could be the way they dress, behave, carry themselves etc but they lack grace and social charisma. people look down on them because of it. they have a huge victim mindset and have never in their life gotten over ANYTHING. they hold grudges till the day they die. they're so fragile and sensitive, they will REMEMBER shit forever. they cannot LET GO or MOVE ON.
they think they're the outcast and that people can sense that about them and hence why they're treated the way they are but little do they realise that theyre stuck in these feedback loops of their own creation. THEY act weird and insecure and cause others to frown at them and they feel alienated as a result of it. They're just doing it to themselves.
Sandra Bullock, Dhanishta Moon & Mrigashira stellium
Idk how many of you have watched the Miss Congeniality movies but its a classic "ugly duckling" type of film. The unrefined, ill-mannered and socially awkward Martian woman, played by Sandra is transformed into a pageant contestant.
If you watch the film, you'll know what I mean by Martians lacking social grace. Forget manners and the way they dress, but even the things they say and how they say it is soooo crass and uncouth.
They're blunt to a fault. They do not know how to say things in a polite manner and are casually cruel in the name of being honest. Like they will be rude asf for no reason or ask really invasive questions. The sociopath guy I dated casually asked me how often I groomed myself 🤡🤡and I had known him for less than a week (yuck). Another Martian would casually ask me about my mom (who is schizophrenic and ill) despite knowing that its a deeply triggering topic for me.
Martians lack tact. And this is their biggest failing.
One of the best examples of a quintessential Martian man is Dr Gregory House from the show House, played by Mrigashira Sun & Mercury native, Hugh Laurie
Dr House is a piece of shit, a complete jackass, narcissist and extremely arrogant and rude. Arrogance is another defining trait of Martian men.
Kanye West, Mrigashira Sun
Do I really need to explain?
Kanye is known for how he lacks any and all sense of social courtesy and speaks his mind when he really probably should just stfu. Also, total narcissist
His daughter, North West, Mrigashira stellium (Sun/Jupiter/Rising) is also really blunt and straightforward even though she's just a kid.
Take a look at this clip and you'll know what I'm talking about
Sacha Baron Cohen, Chitra Sun & Mercury, Mars in Dhanishta
The kind of comedy that Cohen employs where he brutally makes fun of everyone in a way that is straight up crass, rude, insensitive and extremely offensive is very Mars coded
Usher, Chitra Sun, recently went viral for acting like a complete asshat. He made the doorman open the door for him even though he could just open it himself. One thing about Martians is that they are extremely entitled.
Martian men are also extremely "pseudo Nice Guys". They know how to ACT like a green flag and say all the right things and behave like they care about others/are feminists but they don't have a bone of decency in their system.
Justin Baldoni, Chitra Moon (he's also a Shravana Sun which explains his manipulative tendencies)
He really sold himself as the Mr Nice Guy feminist liberal before being exposed as a piece of shit
Cole Sprouse, Chitra Moon
He's another one of the pseudo nice guys, except Cole is also very pretentious, entitled and full of himself. He represents the repellence of Martian people because he's so thoroughly unlikeable.
Ashton Kutcher, Dhanishta Moon
He is friends with two known rapists (Diddy & Danny Masterson) he may have killed his ex girlfriend and covered up his crime (pls look it up, its absolutely insane). And he runs a company that is supposed to help victims of child trafficking but given the context, could potentially be a front to cover up something. The man is SHADY as hell.
Also, like I said Martians have no manners and are very unkempt, messy and squalid. They are GROSS and disgusting (obviously not everyone, so dont come for me)
His wife Mila Kunis, controversially said:
"I didn’t have hot water growing up as a child so I didn’t shower very much anyway, I wasn’t that parent that bathed my newborns, ever,”
Kutcher further said:
“If you can see the dirt on them, clean them, otherwise, there’s no point.”
Kutcher said he does wash his “armpits and my crotch daily and nothing else ever,” and has a tendency to “throw some water on my face after a workout to get all the salts out.”
NASTY if you ask me
Anderson Paak- Dhanishta Moon
Again he presents himself as a "nice guy" but he was a chronic cheater and is divorced from his wife of 13 years, Jae Lin. He even sings about it EWW
The Weeknd, Dhanishta Sun
His entire character and the whole show of The Idol is very Mars men coded (ew)
He only sings about abusing drugs and ruining relationships and its getting old but thats as Martian as it can get
Eminem- Chitra Sun, Dhanishta Moon
I mean..this is pretty self explanatory. He disses and roasts EVERYONE. He is blunt AF and will NOT hesitate.

Conan O'Brien- Dhanishta Moon
Unsurprisingly, a lot of standup comedians are Martian. I haven't heard anything problematic about Conan but the man is honest as hell
Jesse Tyler Ferguson- Chitra Sun
I absolutely adore his character on Modern Family and he's the meaner, more blunt and "honest" of the characters but he's still not a bad guy (probably bc he's a fictional character and written to be charming)
Jason Segel- Dhanishta Moon
His character on Shrinking is very Mars coded.
David Duchovny- Dhanishta Moon
His character on Californication is also peak Mars
Venusians are internally corrosive which means they can be absolutely horrible people who don't care if you live or die (extreme) or privately battling their demons but on the outside they are pleasant, gracious, a joy to be around and very likeable.
Martians are the OPPOSITE. They might save your ass and help you out when the time comes and have good intentions at heart but outwardly they COULD have disgusting mannerisms, be very crass, rude, unlikeable, unhygienic, unkempt etc. This is because of many factors, such as Mars being the soldier and them always having a survival mindset and thus unable to really indulge in or enjoy anything. It could also be because they're lower caste nakshatras, sitting at the bottom of the hierarchy and always feeling like the outcast.
To all my Martian girlies, I hope you know that you are ENOUGH as you are. You don't have to feel like you've got to save everything for a rainy day and that it's okay to indulge every once in a while.

A lot of shows with mute characters the character has absolutely no way or extremely minimal ways to communicate, and thats just passed of as fine
And every time this trope of the mysterious mute character who is just they are "fine" without communication (and only being able to communicate some things to one "special person" is included in a lot of this.) there is always an excuse "in the world there is no aac because *insert reason for why there could be no forms of some AAC*""
So then dont make a mute character who plays into stereotypes if your fictional world cant accommodate for it. That simple.
Yes, many unable to speak people dont feel the need to communicate, yes that is almost always if not always due to severe developmental disabilities.
No, your character who is completely non disabled other than not being able to speak, can completely understand language, would be doing fine without efficient communication.
Yes. Some people who cant speak don't feel the need to communicate and cannot at all. Due to severe communication disability.
No. Your character who is fully non disabled other than not talking is not one of those people.
Yes you are harming people who cant speak by doing the trope of perfectly fine without any means of communication.
Yes even people who dont feel any need to communicate and cant at all suffer tremendously due to it in many ways.
There is never such thing as perfectly fine person who also cant communicate basic wants and needs to anyone at all. Communication is very crucial to life.
No. Your mute character is not realistic.
And whilst we are here: stop making the trope of the unable to speak character who "finally" speaks or "finally" makes a sound/laughs!!!!! Stop!!!!!

Hi hi! I know you have a few Chlolila HCs, but do you have any ones for them individually?
Hello! I do in fact have some individual headcanons for them, and this finally reminded me to post them! :3
Lila Rossi and Chloé Bourgeois Headcanons

Lila Rossi:
- When she first moved to Paris, it actually took her a good few weeks-a month to even consider unpacking, since she was so convinced she'd end up moving away again.
- Since her mum isn't home much, she used to just thrive on things like microwave meals and noodle pots
- << However, it got to a point where she realised she wasn't getting any proper sustenance from them, so she forced herself to learn to cook, and realised she actually really enjoys it! (I'm a good cook Lila truther)
- If she were to own any animal as a pet, she'd either want a reptile or a bird.
- She absolutely hates silence, and will fill the void in any way she can. Most people think it's another attempt at attention seeking, but in reality it's because her home is always silent because her mom is gone most of the time.
-She prefers a shower to a bath, but it has to be absolutely scorching, and the bathroom needs to look like a sauna. She only really wants a bath when she's down in the dumps or ill.
-Her room (and house in general) is often messy for days or even weeks at a time, since she's usually so caught up in her own head she forgets to clean and then suddenly she snaps out of it and it's like. Fuck. There's no clean dishes left and her clothes are everywhere-
Chloé Bourgeois:
- A lot of people think her constantly forgetting special events (like birthdays) is intentional, and while sometimes it is, it's actually something she genuinely struggles with and can't help (hence why she gets so defensive about it).
- Whenever she gets upset or her emotionsgrow too overwhelming, her unintentional coping mechanism has become some form of age regression (see that one clip in “Frightingale” of her cuddling her teddy whilst sucking her thumb). Unfortunately, she doesn't recognise she does this, let alone what it means, and nobody cares to try and understand, so she doesn't get much proper support during these times.
- She doesn't particularly want a pet, since she feels like they'd be too much work and maintenance for her. But if she had to choose, she'd pick a cat, as they're usually more independent than most pets.
- She's absolutely goated at both make-up and skincare, like, she has a full routine that she refuses to leave the house without completing.
- She went absolutely fucking insane when the brat album came out. Genuinely went feral. It went platinum in her big ass hotel.
- She physically cannot sleep without some kind of light source, the dark absolutely terrifies her for some reason.

Also as a continuation on points above, i just think it's worth saying outright that this is related to people not seeing Labour that happens in the home as, well, Labour. Like i know it's hinted at above but it really is such an essential part of things
Like yes, you do *work* that is *valuable* when you clean the dishes. Even at home. Sometimes that is why you can't make yourself do it - it is not a unique category of things that are just not work for some reason.
That also relates to my thoughts about UBI. You either *do* work on some level, or you are in a situation where you *cannot*. (Been there - depression for me, you may have another reason. Either way you are valuable). Like humans *want* to work tbh. Do you knit? Garden? Clean? Do you like doing any of those? Anything similar? Something completely different? (If the answer is no you may genuinely be depressed too for the record)
Like humans like a clean environment with good food and pretty things. Some people will want to do the required work. I would not mind being a garbage collector, for one. Just that other stuff pays better or makes it easier for me to help change stuff at a larger scale
Anyway, i am getting off track. Chores is work, but work is not bad. You are worth something no matter what.
When the health food store unionized, something wild happened that I thought was just a goofy one-off, but makes more sense now.
There was a big push to eliminate "degrading jobs" but the strategy was to eliminate the position, then create a new position outside of the bargaining unit to do the work. So like, we wouldn't have dishwashers, but we'd have people who washed dishes that weren't eligible to be in the union.
I was like A) what the actual fuck? Dish washing isn't "degrading", it's fucking vital. B) What the actual fuck? You want to create a union just to exploit different people?
There were enough of us to be like "Absolutely the fuck not," and put a stop to it, but I was absolutely flummoxed that people involved in a union would say that out loud. Working with more leftists now, it makes sense.

Seto Kaiba as a Friend
NOTES: It's been a while since I wrote about my sweet cursed child. This one is pretty long and includes "What it is like to hang out with him". Let's dive in!
✮ Pretty obvious, but he doesn't know how to have friends, and if he ends up having one, it will be in extraordinary circumstances. Like with Yugi and everyone else, there needs to be an external reason why you two are in the same room (a tournament, business meeting, waiting for someone else, etc), and even then, he is not fond of just socializing for the sake of it; there are more important things in his mind and schedule than talking to strangers.
✮ In general, you need to catch his attention (it could be positive or negative) and have lots of forced interaction/proximity for Kaiba to consider you something more than a faceless, unimportant person. From then on, it is just luck lol
✮ I don't think he has a specific person he befriends because his idea of intrapersonal relationships is so distorted that they just happen in extraordinary situations. But one essential thing is that he needs to respect you.
✮ For example, Jounouchi made a bad first impression; it wasn't until his battle with Marik that he respected him as a duelist. From then on, he kind of acknowledged him and wouldn't mind hanging out with him if they were in the same room.
✮ But it's not like he would start chatting with Jounouchi; it is more like if Jounouchi started a conversation, he wouldn't ignore him and would even engage. They have also known each other for so long that it just happens that they are now what other people might consider friends.
✮ Like I say, it is very specific and circumstantial.
✮ A way to know if you two are friends is if he shows interest. Did you invite him to play some games at your house? He would ignore or mock them for having such an outlandish idea if it were anyone else. But with you, he would be silent for a second and then offer a better place to play the game or check his calendar to see if he has any available time.
✮ Would Kaiba say you are his friend? Never in his life. He just doesn't mind your company. And that is the biggest compliment: he is okay with your presence. That's all it takes lol
✮ Still, you simply cannot expect him to answer you in a timely manner. If you are not his brother, a stakeholder, or an employee, he will read your message and answer in four business days.
What does it look like hanging out with him?
✮ I believe hanging out with Kaiba would involve games (board games, video games, DnD, etc.). He would give his undivided attention and expect you to take this seriously as he does, and do your best to beat him. If it's DnD, he would get very involved, acting the scenes, adding music, just the whole immersion.
✮ Kaiba doesn't have a lot of free time, so the fact that he takes time out of his day to spend time with you is HUGE. Because of his serious face and intense personality, it might not seem like he is having a good time, but believe me, the fact that he is immersed in the games with you is his way to have fun.
✮ If he starts to taunt you that you might lose, or is a little mean, he is having a great time lol
✮ The more time you spend together, the more you will unlock other ways to hang out with Kaiba. His favorite is to exist together in the same space, while the other works on a project/homework/etc.
✮ You will have to be the one who proposes it at first, but over time, he will ask you about your work/school, comment that you should work on it, look at his watch, say he has to review a business presentation, and suggest stopping at an expensive cafe. This is his way of saying, "Let's spend time together."
✮ Kaiba doesn't mind silence. But if you want to chat, please don't make small talk. He feels you two are way past the point of talking as if you were coworkers or strangers, so he would find it odd. Ask about his work; he loves to talk about it. Anything related to his interests (new technology, his company, games, etc.) would be great conversation ideas.
✮ He is kind of obsessive, so the more he considers you a friend or someone relatively close to him, the more he will observe you. He will remember details about you; your favorite colour, the beverage you always ask, your game style, little quirks, etc.
✮ Kaiba would store that information without even noticing it.
✮ After a while, if you ever told him that your computer broke or your car needed to be fixed, he would help you. In his head, he convinces himself that you need those to work or go to school; it is a need, not a luxury. He doesn't do it for the goodness of his heart; it just happens that he has the means to fix it so you will stop moaning about it. Just that, nothing more.
★・・・・・・★

Hey, thanks for accepting my anonymous ask and fixing that on your dashboard. Posting this here to publicize:
Why do you think so many people misunderstand Fates as a story and just dismiss the whole thing as trash without looking into what it's actually saying? Because it has much of his context only made apparent to people who dig into it and actually interact with the game, or that it somehow gives too bad of a first impression for most people? I'm really trying to figure it out, but it reminds me of how the entire internet wanted to convince you Dragon Age: The Veilguard is badly written; works that are actually quite competently written but the entire gaming sphere has just written off as schlock irrespective to its merits, because I cannot really think of another game aside from that which had the same level of bad PR as Fates did that is frankly unjustified.
In our DMs, your reply was:
Fundamentally, I don’t know what people are on when criticizing Fates story. A flaw in the game’s narrative is that important details are hidden in subtext and implication, or are only given few lines of dialogue, which isn’t the most typical of a JRPG. So they majorly resent that for some reason, instead of just seeing that as something that can easily be addressed.
Do you mind elaborating with examples? Both because I want to publicize what was intended to be anonymous and because I want to hear if you have any examples of what you mean by this. Because I very much agree, I just want to confirm if we're on the same page.
Off the top of my head, not really, lots of stuff is swimming around. But I'll try.
-Implicit stuff, like Iago highlighting how Elise and Xander are the most upset by Corrin defecting to Hoshido, for example, is foreshadowing how those two specifcally are the Nohriran royals most prominent in Birthright.
-Mikoto's pacifying barrier is the same as Azura's pacifying song, because they're both Vallite royalty, which descends from Anankos who has the power to influence people's hearts
-Mikoto can forsee the future because that's a power Anankos has, and he passed his blood to Vallite royalty.
-It makes sense that Leo can pull a random magic warp book out of thin air, because it's been established he's the most fearsome mage in Nohr, and Iago has done similar stuff already
-Iago is the one who made Takumi and Elise sick, having had contact with both of them after the former fell into the bottomless canyon (afterwards, Anankos made Takumi a spy through Garon, hence leading to Iago) and the latter after Iago appeared in the Rainbow Sage chapter before directing Corrin's party and Ryoma's ambush in Macarath.
-The divine weapons choose their wielders since they're inhabited by spirits, but they're also handed down and competed for through the royal lines. Sumeragi wielded Raijinto, Mikoto passed down Fujin Yumi, Garon used Siegfried and possibly also Brynhildr in the past.
-As a result of their upbringing, the Nohrian royals are extremely hesitant to defy Garon. Elise's mother never properly loved her, Leo and his mother had a bad relationship, and Camilla says she was used as a tool. Even Xander, didn't have a proper relationship with Garon, due to the burdens of being crown prince (and the fact that Xander had to work really hard to get where he is) and the chaos that the concubines caused. They want stability, and when someone threatens that, be it Corrin leaving or Garon being targeted, they react badly.
-Nohrians value utility, being a military based country. Their classes often wield mutliple weapons, as there's no time or resources to specialize, and they have more mounts and proper heavy armor. Hoshido has the resources to be more daring, to specialize, or have more whacky classes like Blacksmith and Basara.
Nohr can't be picky, so they use thieves for their archery force, while Hoshido trains actual archers. Hoshido is more spiritual, so they have priesteses and monks as their healers, while Nohr has servants and mounted healers for utility.
Hoshidan retainers are groomed for their roles, and often get them through bloodlines or connections. Nohrian retainers are gutter trash, literal nobodies, and former criminals, and all they have to do is prove themselves in a fight.
Further on, the other recruits. Hayato is renowned tribal spellcaster, Benny is a feared commoner knight. Charlotte is a nobody who wants to be popular, Rinkah is a princess who values solitude. Nyx and Orochi both suffered from bad reputations, but Nyx is a mature woman trapped in a young body, while Orochi is outwardly mature but internally mischievous. Kaden is a cleanly, magnanimous fox with a secret vicious side, Keaton is outwardly rough and grimey, but has a soft, puppy dog side.
These parallels, intricacies, and tidbits are all implications that you can reach after just an hour thinking about it. This is the exact same kind of stuff that people write/post/blog about for other games' casts, especially Three Houses. It's just that Fates isn't afforded that because of a rough localization and infamous controversy.

do you have any favorite one piece panels? or robin panels? from the manga :)
Sorry I took so long, I just have SO much I want to talk about. Since I have another ask about Robin panels, this one will focus on my favorite panels in general and I'll focus on Robin ones on that ask! These also aren't all just panels, some of them are pages/spreads. Some are emotional, some are aesthetic, and some are just funny. These are ones that impacted me specifically, and not all of them are like. Super iconic moments or ones I see a lot maybe? Some of them are. I'm rambling, this is a really long post. Sorry. I just love One Piece...
This is one of the first panels that hooked me in when I saw spoilers for Gear 5. It stuck with me SO much when I finally started the journey. There's so much joy and light in it, and intrigue with why Robin is sitting to the side. This panel will live in my heart forever.
I don't need to explain the emotional impact of the Summit War Saga, but I cannot applaud Oda enough for having the end of it being our hero weeping that he has his crew that he loves and that they're a light to the darkness he just went through.
I have a lot of attachment to characters who are young and have to grow up early, and Momo is like an insanely good example of this. But ALSO the way Luffy encourages his autonomy and his choice and hypes him up to fight for his own freedom alongside him. I just love these brothers.
It's a similar story with Bonney for me. The way he encourages her to fight for herself and what she's lost for her freedom - something SO important for her and Kuma - makes me cry. The faith she has in the future because of Luffy is just. So. Good. The things this manga has to say about joy in laughter, freedom, and creativity means SO MUCH TO ME. There's also something so special about the way she says she's been looking for him, and he responds that he's been with her the whole time. It's so.
I just think this is one of the best pages in the manga. Genuinely.
More Kuma, but I find this panel from the chapter that's technically "unfinished" to be so fucking gutwrenching. I know a lot of it was due to time constraints and Oda's a busy guy, but the way he couldn't finish THIS particular chapter honestly? Added to the emotional impact for me? I could totally be wrong, but to me it felt like he got too emotional working on it and combining that with the time constraints he had to turn it in as it was, and I personally love seeing an artist's hand in their work.
The whole Roger flashback shook me to my fucking core. This part and when he finds the poneglyph on Skypiea specifically.... Ugh. Ough. I can't wait to see this story come to an end, but I don't want it to end.
I can't not talk about Brook, but his encounter with Big Mom is so incredible for him as a character. We once again see how unshakable his loyalty is, and calling an emperor "young lady?" Oh my God the balls on this skeleton. Also, I adore Big Mom, she's my favorite villain. I'll have to gush about her sometime too.
I have a very special connection with Toko and Hiyori specifically. I also lost my dad (though I have a complicated relationship with him, he ultimately did what he could for me and I will always love and miss him deeply in a way that it's hard to express) a few years ago. The horror of losing a loved one and only being able to laugh is. So powerful, Oda was insane for SMILE. However, there's also something I'm attached to 'cause I remember very distinctly the day he passed, I went to lunch with some friends to have company, and I remember my friend telling me later that she knew I would be okay because I was laughing. It didn't really stick with her the same way it did with me, but for some reason that thought stuck in the back of my mind. IDK I'm rambling, but I find the message of laughter in One Piece being tied to freedom very very important to me.
Speaking of Hiyori, I gotta say, 1044 is what got me into One Piece, but I didn't see ANYONE talking about Hiyori's role in that chapter when I saw the spoilers, so I didn't even think about it until I read it myself. When I tell you her entire scene with Orochi gave me goosebumps I am being so fucking serious. She did not, and I repeat, she did NOT "interrupt" Gear 5. She fucking HERALDED IT.
(Here's two that I just find so incredibly funny with or without context) I feel like I'm missing some and I'll come back and edit them if I think of them, but these are the non Robin centric ones that have really stuck with me. I know there's some in Arlong Park and all that that I'm missing, but yeah. It feels wrong to cut it off here but if you made it this far, thank you for reading!!
There's also the Mural, but that one is like. Fucking crazy and we don't know the FULL significance yet so I'll leave my thoughts on that until later.

Experienced the most horrors - nominations
Its nomination day so get them in while you can! we already ran a tournament for Worst time aboard the TARDIS (won by Fitz) as such this tournament is about the sheer volume of horrors experienced, regardless of how the companions felt about them. for example the great fire of rome was a horror ian barbara and vicki experienced and found fucking hilarious. did they comit the horror, it counts
to submit your nomination literally do anything i'm guaranteed to see, most people send me an ask
also there is no propaganda this time
Rules
Please check the auto inclusion list before sending in your nomination, it includes every tv compaion and some EU companions
No nominations exclusively from series 15, I'll probably start including Belinda in June and the rest of series 15 in July
any doctor who character from any source (nu, classic, spinoff, eu, eu spinoff) is allowed, however they cannot be primarily from a different franchise entirely. i dont care that doctor who and star trek had a cross over comic, star trek characters are not allowed, i dont care if the doctor met lego batman in a lego game, im not putting lego batman in
Please keep the volume of nominations within reason so its nice and manageable for me
might add more rules as we go, we'll see
