this intro clip is so crazy to me for two reasons

the first reason is like…? what Lizzie said is not even true here 😭 Hope literally jumped into malivore and erased herself from existence thinking she would die just because she wanted to save her friends (ALL of them, including Lizzie, as she said on the phone)

a huge part of her brute forcing her way through the monsters and eventually killing her own boyfriend to save the day is because she wants to feel ‘worthy’ enough of her family’s fucked up expectations that she would redeem the mikaelsons. Hope literally killed her boyfriend for Lizzie while Lizzie was off sleeping with someone (Josie too! they both fucked up and let Hope down, but at least Josie felt bad about it) after they both promised she wouldn’t have to face malivore without them…

i get this line was before that occurred but my point still stands because it’s true lol. hope had rare moments of selfishness and people acted like it was insane but it wasn’t because of COURSE Hope was going to crack and do something selfish at least a couple times when most of her screentime is doing shit for everyone else or bending over backwards to forgive them for things or overlook them, Landon and Lizzie included. like it’s endlessly ironic to me that people hate that Hope forgave Josie burning her room on accident but then they don’t care that Hope forgave Lizzie for bullying her long before the fire/the lie. the double standard skskskdj

the second reason this clip is crazy to me is because Hope is blaming Lizzie for Josie going dark which is petty and fucked up and kind of just hilarious 😭 like I’m sorry but Hope is the most delusional pro Josie stan there is and she outdoes the hosie fandom. because this comment wasn’t even really completely TRUE. Josie went dark because she was groomed and then did dark magic to save Lizzie from the oni, then put it into the mora miserium, then broke the more miserium to save both herself and her family from the PW. Like it is technically true that a lot of the dark magic in the sandclock is from saving Lizzie’s life, but that’s not even a bad thing because she should WANT to save her sister’s life. So Hope using it as a blow is basically her saying Lizzie’s life is dispensable and she might’ve preferred Josie to just let Lizzie die to keep herself from going dark. That’s sooooo fucking low, omg. It’s like actually fucked up and yet this isn’t the part Lizzie fans talk about 😭 It’s things like the first part where people say Hope was self centered at times it's actually kind of unfair to say that
