Monika received the Fated Mark that says she's chosen to be the new King of Hearts. It's a fate she doesn't want and tried to make a run for it. Now, it sounds like Kiku, Queen of Hearts, is up to something, but Monika has no clue if she can trust him, or if he'll discard of her once she's no longer useful.

Glad this one ended up shorter like I originally wanted, instead of me going, "Oh, I'll just write a 2000 fic" only for it to end up, like 12000 words long :') Searched around for cardverse stuff to figure it out and ended up yoinking a horror-fate idea from @/fireandiceland except this didn't end up all that horror-y. It's more angsty, tbh.
