As someone who not born in the US, is very much also not white, and lived for some time in non-western countries (before moving to the US) and was thus also educated in different countries, it always cracks me up when certain people post shit like this on a thread from some fuckwit railing against Americans:

#that thread alone was so fucking stupid and infuriating #like the lack of self-awareness from the op was truly baffling #and i didn't even really disagree with many of the points but eh something put me off #let's just say that #like do non americans think everyone in the us is a tr*mp fan #or an isolationist who doesn't care about other places #like where are you getting that information from #did it occur to you some of us do actually keep up with what's going on in the world #or oh idk might even have family in the countries you're talking about #bruh my family lives in the philippines #idk if you've heard but there are political and social things afoot there that are Very Disturbing #but i sincerely doubt these people genuinely care #they always use those of us with roots from the global south #as their tokens for their neat little narrative lmao
