𝐘𝐔𝐔𝐆𝐈 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐋   about being invited into mokuba’s bedroom for the first time .   they’ve gotten along well for years now   ━━━━   sometimes ,   it even seems as though mokuba is   quite fond   of him   (   though anything would resemble fondness when compared to his brother’s characteristically   aloof   &   pointedly disinterested   attitude   )    ━━━━   and now that they see each other more often than ever before ,   with yuugi’s new position at kaibacorp ,   it’s natural that their bond would   𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑠ℎ .   but yuugi is also aware that a young teen’s   (   or preteen’s   )   bedroom is their   𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 ;   their sanctuary where they feel the most themself ,   where they spend their most formative hours .   to let someone into that space willingly mirrors letting someone into their   HIGHEST REGARDS ,   and yuugi cannot ignore the sense of   genuine honor   he feels in that .

           though the kaibas live as   𝑙𝑎𝑣𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑙𝑦   as anyone would expect ,   yuugi finds the space to reflect mokuba’s tendency to embody an   ORDINARY KID   despite his extraordinary circumstances .   it’s clearer now than ever before that seto’s sacrifices to ensure that his younger brother has access to as much of a   normal childhood   as he can capture at this stage have paid off ,   and the thought is   immensely heartwarming .   to have become part of their world ,   even if just a small one ,   offers more evidence of the   INCONCEIVABLE DEPTHS   embodied by the love between the two brothers ,   though yuugi had always been more perceptive of it than his friends .   it makes him wonder how differently his youngest years may have been ,   had he a sibling to look after ,   𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐦 .

           “   wow ,   mokuba - chan ,   ”   yuugi utters ,   authentic appreciation in his tone as he gently retrieves his hand from the other’s grasp ,   holding it up to the light to admire the   glittery black polish   adorning his nails in a near - perfectly even coat ,   “   i had no idea you had such a steady hand .ᐟ.ᐟ   i might have to have you paint my nails more often .   ”   giggling ,   yuugi imagines what that may actually be like ,   though he’d only been joking .   helping his brother maintain a   MULTI - BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION ,   mokuba surely has   𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠   with which to concern himself than regularly painting yuugi’s nails .   but the concept of them spending so much extra time together is nice , regardless .

           shifting ,   though carefully enough not to smudge the   drying polish   on his left hand   (   we should do gel next time ,   he thinks to himself ,   if there even   is   a next time   [   . . .   ]   ) ,   yuugi leans toward his bag ,   tugging it closer with his already - dry hand .   “   here   ━━━━   while this dries ,   you can pick a color so i can do yours next ,   ”   he suggests .   “   i don’t have the most extensive collection in the world ,   since i always wear the same color ,   ”   faintly ,   yuugi laughs ,   flushing the slightest bit with   𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓   at his lack of variety ,   “   but i’ve got purple ,   blue ,   and this pretty pink that anzu - chan gave me because she didn’t like it on her skin tone .   ”   with a 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑒 ,   yuugi dumps the glass bottles onto the rug where they’re sitting ,   exceedingly mindful of his roughness ,   for the last thing he’d want is a   𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬 ,   should one of them break .

           “   and of course ,   i’ve got ,   like ,    four different options if you like black .   ”
