=a character in, like, a slightly older piece of media will be the butt of a transphobic joke and like... much respect to those who point and are like "im reclaiming&reinterpreting this theyre trans now" (so true<3 so valid<3) but my goodness me, you really do see some people point and... insist that its actual representation.... with their whole hearts and, like, willfully believe tht the writers did it in good faith and try to like praise them or act like its some hidden theory. and obvs, obvs, obvs im not talking abt like characters being coded a certain way bc they couldnt be open abt it, but when its like "dude keeps getting called a girl as a punchline"... or the even more egregious, this character was genuinely intended to be a walking transphobic mess. and again valid when its ppl aware and who are just saying fuck it in many cases but like. its like some ppl who rlly dont... actually try to think abt what the writers were genuinely intending with some stuff and im like uh. uh. uh!
