hii! do you have any tips for drawing robots?
honestly not rlly? but when i draw them i try to include as many fun shapes as i can (rectangular fingers for one, i like drawing that). also i think adding random pieces to the chassis like lightbulbs, tubes and wires and hatches (like for looking at the robot's insides) makes them look more interesting, especially if you're looking for like. a messier robot (and you don't worry about it looking like. an actual robot that someone would build). um what else. try including different materials as well! a robot with a shiny metal chassis is fun but i think adding maybe joints or an entire torso made of different material is a cool choice and spices it up a little. speaking of joints, try looking at a human body/skeleton and try breaking up the chassis into smaller pieces based on how they apply to the robot's movement (i mostly draw humanoids but this should work with animals too) add a tail definitely too it always works ^__^ again, i mostly draw humanoids but i like it when there's something distinctively non-human about at least one of their body parts (like big claws, tube arms, wings or a camera instead of a head). try playing around with proportions maybe too? aaand try looking at other's designs as well for inspo :] i think that's all
#ask#hope this is comprehensible 👍#idk idk. like i'm obviously a 'add random wires everywhere' guy#oh also maybe. if you have that context. try thinking from the perspective of what kind of robot is that/what will it do and what it needs#to perform whatever its gotta do#like for example sentries from u//trakill. they're basically legs with a gun because they're meant for shooting#please don't take this as some sort of supreme advice i love robots but i dont know a thing about them from the technical side
