the cis mob/trans teru dynamic would be real fun and interesting. mob struggles so much with masculinity/presenting appropriately/fulfilling the role of a boy in order to be acceptable to girls. In that sense he does view Teru as the masculine ideal, going to him for advice specifically when it comes to impressing girls/classmates. Teru for his part swings wildly between alpha schoolboy (when with others) and dropout from presentations school (with friends). Why not have Mob apprentice himself to a guy who has developed his gender skills in the trenches of junior high! Why not have Teru trying to unpick what he loves about being a dude from the more painful traits he picked up out of self-defense. It keeps the flipped dynamic where Teru leads in mundane situations/Mob in psychic situations.
#also provides an explanation for teru firing his parents in fourth grade. that's efficiency!#kelsey liveblogs mp100#idk i like all teru content but sometimes i regret that it's so popular#once dynamics hit a certain level it just gets flattened into the nearest trope#what's interesting about their relationship is the sheer level of unease and tension as they try not to hate each other#teru's near-worship of mob is itself a sort of resentment. before the end he physically can't have a normal friendship with mob#the only way he can tolerate being so thoroughly owned is if mob is a god.#then after the finale the only way he can tolerate being friends with mob is because he saw mob hit rock bottom#it's a dynamic! things change and move between these characters#don't just let them settle down into the cheesy fluffy childhood friends romance trope. they've strangled each other once each. do it again
