Moodboard for my fic ideas #1
Reader and Minho are both exchange students who struggle to fit in. Minho has a hard time with English, and reader is an introvert. They build a friendship and help each other out. Despite Minho’s parents wish to study abroad improving his English in hopes of getting into a top university one day, he secretly keeps practicing his one true passion - dancing. His biggest supporter? Reader.
"Do you ever dream of becoming like them?" I ask Minho, whose face was illuminated by the purple light of the BTS poster announcing their upcoming concert. He didn't even have to respond, i could see it in his eyes. This was his dream.

HAI FRIEND
i’ve literally been obsessed w ur megumi smau since like chp. 14 or something LOLL,, i have this thing where i just psychoanalyze characters and ive been thinking a lot about yn like hm…
(THIS MIGHT BE A LUTTLE LONG BTW SO FEEL FREE TO JUST LIKE IGNORE THIS BUT I RLLY WANT TO TALK ABT HER)
like yn (to a lot of people) may be like a little intolerable but honestly i think the reason we have such a reaction to her personality like that is bc we see a little bit of ourselves in her if that makes sense…
PERSONALLY, I AM A YN DEFENDER FOR LIKE THATS MY HOMEGIRL.. like imagine you grew up in a world where soulmates are the basis of your romantic future. the sheer fact that that in itself already builds a sense of you either love your soulmate or hate them in someones head (considering that most of the time,, soulmates are portrayed as; first time you meet, you just know)
yn,, having met megumi long before you brain could have developed a coherent understanding of relationships, and lacking in the sense that when she met megumi,, she didn’t feel sparks like they said she would, obviously, she would categorize those feelings as hate. THATS WHY WHEN MEGUMI SAID “i dont think you really ever hated me either” HIT SO HARD FOR ME I WAS LIKE OH MY GOD…
BASICALLY WHAT IM GETTING AT is the fact that there is so much pressure already due to the fact that soulmates are said to be your other halves, so if you don’t like them, theres immense pressure and insecurity (hence yn’s hostility to the subject of her hating megumi because she has no comprehended idea of why she actually hates him) plus the fact that they met when they were kids and that probably affected the way she saw relationships in the first place EXPLAINS WHY SHE IS SO ADMENT ON BEING INDIFFERENT TO HIMMM
ok… another thing (sorry)..
AS MUCH as i love yn’s friend group,,, THEY LOWKEY PISS ME OFF THE SAME WAY YN PISSES ME OFF HELP..
OK SO,, obviously i’d also get pissed off if my friends get hostile bc i bring something up to want to understand them better, BUT at the same time, i would also have some sympathy 😢😢
LIKE,, their immediate response is to press harder, and try to solve the problem and if youre looking at texts like that thru yn’s eyes, it will prob lowkey feel like your feelings are being invalidated. yn is already confused, probably insecure about her love life, and now having to literally throw up her heart into her hands just for her friends to understand why they feel that way,, like she’s not gnna want to do that no matter how close they are (but maybe thats js me idk…) and then their immediate response to her not wanting to show that side of her is to get pissed off like i’d be mad and sad like yn too :(
i think those are all the points i was thinking sbt but if not im not gnna try to rmbr the rest bc this is alr super long.. BUT I HOPE U ENJOYED MY RANT AND I LOVE UR SMAU AND I LOVE U MUAH I HOPE U HAVE A GREAT DAY
I LOVE U I LOVE U I LOVE U
i absolutely ADOREEEE when people psychoanalyze the characters (mostly only when the analysis is correct tho LMFAOAO autism.) BECAUSE I DO THE SAME THINGGG i kinda have to when i’m doing plot heavy smaus like this to make sure everything fits n there’s the least amount of plot holes possible blah blah blah insert my annoying rambling on how i write
ANYWAY i loved ur analysis u r so amazing n so right ! like i get yn is annoying but lord have mercy so is everyone else that’s the POINTTTTT NO ONE HERE IS ACTUALLY IN THE WRONG OR BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE. EVERYONE HAS THEIR REASONING FOR WHAT THEY DO OR DONT DO!!! ugh sorry okay i’m gonna shut up now i could talk about this forever i fear .
I LOVE UUUU HAVE A GREAT DAYYYY

Hello Raven. Ive been reading on your opinions and thoughts about How TWST would work as an otome game and im really interested.Your analysis is great and it feels refreshing to see another person that finds people "uwufying" certain characters irritating.
First,I would like to say that I was very surprised when i found your opinions about how TWST works as a dating sim. Most people romanticise TWST Its the exact same reason why i thought TWST was a otome when i first heard about it,and being manufactured by Disney didnt help at all.It was amazing seeing how much your opinion about it clashes so much around other peoples lolololol
This might sound offending but i seriously thought alot of people here were "uwufyers"(?) And believes in "love solves everything" and it was a large immediate bad image turn on for me.It was tiring seeing people constantly think of love as all sunshine and daisies and ignore the soil erosions around them, probably one of the big reasons why alot of peoples first relationships dont work out at all.
Ok i need to start getting to why i actually wrote this ask
I can totally see TWST working as a dating sim while still maintaining the main foundations of the game.
There might be some holes in this idea but im a wild teenager on the loose not a game developer.
Overused Love tropes are boring and happy ever afters are a one in a trillion chance of happening
So while Were not gonna touch on most of the plot in TWST the most were gonna change about it are only small little details. Its important for the character to have some bad traits and lore( that is not overused and boring and looks like it was written by a 5 year old, thank you very much) so all thats going to happen to make it work is by adding some more intimacy and physical contact on the game like Kalim hugging you repeatedly occuring,Trey baking with you because you asked him to help you on the school project and it becoming a thing the both of do together,Apple Carving with Epel,Having fun causing trouble with the Adeuce duo yada yada so while we do have some sweet moments and maybe a mix of romantic ones and friendzone moments aka giving the player mixed signals so they suffer
And based on which route you choose is who yuu will fall in love with, but only a selected few have happy endings
Take Jack for example, the only problems i really see here is his tendency to tie himself to his morals(which can be considered as a toxic trait)and his tsundere personality(which i honestly find quite annoying) so a "happy ending" "bittersweet ending" and "bad ending" along with "worse ending"(which are all the possible endings you can get and is available)
Happy ending:Jack shares the same feelings and after a lot while of debating and friendzoning you slowlyyyy subtley admits his feelings and after years and years of reassurance, tears, awkward flirting and amateur courting, you guys finally get together.yay
Bittersweet ending:Jack only sees you as a friend and its so painfully obvious.you would be a fool to believe hes going to catch on feelings for you when he stated himself he sees you as a sibling. Not wanting to ruin everything you kept your feelings sealed and just smiled
Idk abt the bad and worse endings i ran out of ideas haha
The other ones like Idia only has a "bittersweet ending"(which isnt always friendzoning the player more like he had feelings for you too but his insecurities got in the way) and a "bad ending"(you cry your little heart as you remember exactly how Idia belittled your feelings, should have known better when he was quite actively mocking love). Some only have a "happy ending" and "bittersweet ending".While others have different mixtures based on personality, background and occupation
However none of the royals have a "happy ending" why? Simple,Youre a commoner.A magicless prefect that came from an unknown world,You seriously think people will take to you kindly? Honestly with Leona there miiight be chance but with Malleus? The chances of you transporting to the fictional world is higher than being liked by 1% of fae while still being human. The eels only have a bad and worse ending and i think you know the reason for that.
Bad endings can be caused by other major factors (major character death,or minor character death that had a big impact on one of the mcs, player going back home, etc.) Worse endings are basically bad endings but worse if the character doesnt have a bad ending there wont be a worse ending
The actual romance starts when they graduate aka halfway through the route it takes time to develop feeling and for others to overcome trauma or atleast tone down their problems a bit
How you will get these endings are based on your choices
Whew this was long and oh boy while yes they dont follow alot of media expectations and defeats the main purpose of a dating sim(which is making the player feel loved) i wanted to have something more realistic something more TWST
I really enjoyed your analysis and only a few things im really interested in can make me ramble on like this! So thank you for reading this very long message and i hope you have a great day :)
[Referencing this post and this post!]
Aaaah 😅 Honestly, I’m just glad that I’m finally able to get my thoughts on that out... It’s definitely not my cup of tea, but I had been holding back on sharing my opinion because I worried about coming off as invalidating the people who do enjoy it (and I hope that I haven’t given off those vibes). As I’ve always stressed, just because I don’t personally like something doesn’t mean that others cannot like it. People are free to do and enjoy whatever they want!
Yume culture is definitely very prevalent in the Twisted Wonderland fandom! (For those who may not know, “yume” is short for “yumejoshi”, or 夢女子, which literally translates to “Dream Girl”. It is a term used for those (typically female) who enjoy dating their favorite character(s) in their head or in their imagination, usually via a self-insert or via an OC.) I think part of the reason for it is that the TWST characters are really loveable and relatable, and people wish that they could engage with them on a more intimate level. It’s how a lot of TWST fans demonstrate their love for certain characters!
ASDHBASODYPboffuba AHAHAHAH 🤣 After being in this fandom for over 2 years, I’ve found that a lot of my opinions misalign with what the majority of the fandom thinks. It doesn’t make any one opinion better or worse than the others, but I just think it’s something amusing to note. I try to give all sides consideration and the benefit of the doubt when possible, but ultimately I’d like to think that I approach TWST lore and its characters with more pragmatism than most. Maybe I’m just jaded--
I don’t know if I can speak for the entire fandom, but I feel like I’ve personally seen a lot of “uwu” takes. They’re understandable to some extent, as people will inevitably want to comfort these characters and to seek comfort from them in return. I don’t fault anyone for that, even if I choose to disagree with it. I just hope that those takes are only harmless fun and escapism, and that they don’t seriously extend to real world relationships, because that would be a setup for disappointment and even potentially toxic situations 💦
Yeah, I think that if TWST were to be a dating sim at all (while maintaining its identity), it would have to completely flip the script of conventional dating sims. TWST is a game about “villains”, and while that doesn’t necessarily condemn them to not having a happily ever after, it doesn’t mean that their happily ever after needs to come now, that it should be quite so easy to obtain, or that their circumstances will actually allow for it. Part of what makes TWST… well, TWST 😂 is that while there is magic and fantastical bullshit going on around you, the story and its characters still have its roots in realism. There are reasons and backstories for characters acting a certain way, and things happen as a result of the characters acting organically, not out of plot convenience. This would be possible to incorporate into a unique dating sim experience.
Like you’ve said, there can be more physical contact and sweet, intimate moments spent one-on-one with the boy of your choosing. I think there’s a lot of cute possibilities for those so-called “love-flag” cutscenes! Imagine looking after the hedgehogs with Riddle, going on cafe hangouts with Cater, baking with Trey, etc. It’d allow for the characters to be themselves without erasing their flaws and faults while still spending time with the protag (Riddle is taking care of the hedgehogs because it is his duty, Cater needs someone to polish off his sweets after he’s done taking pics for his Magicam account, Trey appreciating a hand in the kitchen because he’s worn out from being the main baker for unbirthday parties, etc.)
Oooh, I really like the idea that only some boys actually get “happy endings”/end up in an actual romantic relationship with the protag 🤔 But to play devil’s advocate for a moment, I can see why that might upset some people? Like, imagine being told that a character you really like doesn’t get or “deserve” a happy ending/love (and you, the player, by extension, don’t get that happy ending/love that you explicitly picked up this game for), but that others do????? And based solely on the character you picked/liked, too… (Worse yet is that I see a lot of the most popular characters, like the OB boys, being the ones that most likely don’t have “happy endings”.) That would just seem unfair to the fans of certain characters.
I’m not going to comment much on the ideas shared for Jack and Idia’s routes (since I think they work well as you have proposed), but since you mentioned Idia, I’m going to take a moment to speculate. I get that people want to date the TWST boys, but I wonder if anyone has stopped to consider the implications of certain characters if the genre were to change. Dating sims focus on romance, right???? So what would happen to Grim in that case??? And what about Ortho, who is a literal child that you obviously should NOT date or have romantic feelings for??? Since you can’t write either of them romantically, I fear that their roles would be greatly diminished in the routes, reduced to nothing more than “cute but sassy mascot/pet” and “Idia’s wingman”. In Ortho’s case, this is especially bad because his whole character arc ends with him finally being acknowledged as his own person rather than as an “object”, but the structure of a dating sim would probably make Ortho a plot device to move the romance along 😔 I don’t like the idea of changing Grim and/or Ortho to make them dateable either; it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It takes away the importance of the platonic relationship between Grim and his minion, and in Ortho’s case, aging him up and/or making him alive or never dead in the first place removes a lot of meaning from his and Idia’s struggles and childhood trauma. It also kind of implies that something was “wrong” with the originals (and, by extension, something was “wrong” the friendships they had with the protag) 💦
I’ve actually always been bothered by non-royals getting romantically involved with royals 😅 It’s nice to think about for escapism purposes, but I personally prefer to write and consume media with a more pragmatic view and where there are realistic consequences for everything that happens. I’d be really interested to see the aftermath of a route where Malleus had to turn you down because he puts his duties as crown prince first, or where the twins get you caught up in their shady family business (presumably the underwater mob) 👀 Love’s numbing power only lasts so long before you have to deal with the consequences that come with those feelings and the one you’ve sworn them to.
Now that I think about it 🤔 a time skip around the middle of the game reminds me of Fire Emblem 3H. It worked pretty well in that game because the story was split pretty evenly between the past and the future (with maybe more of a lean toward the future, where most of the character development occurs. The actual romantic relationships happen post-main conflict, because the characters have other priorities (fighting for their causes). I think that this kind of a format would work well for TWST, especially with the deep-rooted nature of the trauma some of the boys have experienced (or just how generally stubborn they are to the ideas of friendship and love). For the TWST boys, their priorities would mostly be schoolwork, but also the OBs and what comes immediately after (if those are kept in the dating sim). I feel that it is tonally deaf or at least insensitive to launch into a romance or continue the buildup to one right after someone has been through something really dark and disturbing; they should be focused on mentally recovering instead. This would not be as much of an issue if the idea of a relationship was revisited later in life, when the characters are not as burdened by schoolwork and have had time to grow, to mature, and to sit with their thoughts and reflect on them. This would also solve the “age issue”. If the dating sim protag is over 18, it gets iffy romancing younger boys, and if they’re under 18, it gets iffy romancing older boys—but if there’s a time skip, then everyone is a consenting adult and it’s all gucci 👌
I’m with you when I say that if we get a TWST dating sim, I’d want it to be well-written and realistic so as to maintain the charm of the original. (But of course, there’s nothing wrong with wanting an experience different than this for a hypothetical TWST dating sim! Everyone has different tastes, which we should be respectful of.)

Weird Observations on Season 5b (post “Coda”)
I’m rewatching season 5. And actually all of season 5b is super weird. I feel like it was forced in, or changed last minute, or some big parts were lopped out and left behind on the editing room floor. This is kind of rambling. I’m doing my best. Bear with me lol.
There are a lot of contrivances in 5b. Like the entire thing with Jesse and Pete feels contrived, like simply to give Rick this weird ass fantasy to play out, like this “crime” to solve, and this woman to “save,” forcing him into this old role, and oddly mirroring him with Shane, by making him appear crazy? But it feels fake. Everything about Jesse and Pete feels fake, underdeveloped. When Rick kisses her at that party it’s like he’s not even really there. Like he’s living in a dream. It’s completely out of character, tbh? Rick is a man prone to big thinking. He is hopeful. He is a father. He lets that consume him from time to time and it can drive him to delusion. We’ve seen it, post-Lori. But he is not a guy that just frivolously kisses ladies in closets? Like, where is Daryl? Why isn’t Daryl there for him to talk to, after they had that “your my brother” moment in 4.16. Oh wait--
Because Daryl’s character is like, erased? Idk what he is he even meant to be in 5b, and tbh this continues for Daryl. He goes SEASONS without like, saying more than two lines of dialogue an episode. He’s second billed in the opening credits, a clear fan favorite, and sometimes he doesn’t even get a speaking role?
Also I can’t believe Glenn allows Nicholas on that supply run in 5.14 at all? Noah dies directly because of Nicholas, and then the whole comeuppance with Nicholas literally leads to nothing. It just leads to him and Glenn fighting in the woods and then Glenn’s “fake death,” which is insane because they then kill Glenn anyway. ? Why focus on Nicholas? It’s this Iago thing, okay, planting the seed of doubt in Deana’s mind. But it’s poorly executed because then Deana and the whole group just end up trusting Rick anyway? It’s not like the Alexandrians go crazy and try to poison them or something. That would have been weird and cool as hell. Instead, there is no fight with the Alexandrians and no catharsis for Noah. There is only Glenn’s “fake death” one season later, and Nicholas just dies anyway and none of what happens has anything to do with Glenn’s actual, real death in the future.
OKAY. And Maggie, like Daryl, is also a non-character in 5b. She just...disappears into the background. Like she becomes Deana’s righthand man? Like she is okay with this? And they send Noah on that supply run. Why Noah? Should’ve been Maggie. Should’ve been Rosita. Idk. Noah is there, for some reason, when he was recently injured and barely knows how to shoot straight. He then dies for literally no reason the moment he gets a goal in life. ?
Everybody surrounding Beth just loses their entire purpose in the plot after she dies, it’s bizarre.
Like you’d think they’d focus on Daryl, Maggie, and Noah in their grief and how it changes them, the same way they focus on Sasha’s grief (twice). It’s super weird actually. ? Instead they kill off Noah almost immediately, and they stick Maggie and Daryl both in the background, instead focusing on these weird, forced plots involving Rick and Carol (??) and Glenn vs. Nicholas (??).
And why does Gabriel betray Rick? For the Judas feels? There is like no build to that. What’s weirder is that 5b-6a actually has some of the coolest cold opens and most intricate little moments of symbolism. It’s well directed, on a scene-by-scene basis. But it’s like, the greater plot has so many holes and feels super forced. The writing is not just bad (like season 8), it’s just entirely forced? Like, awkward?
5a does not feel this way. 5a is interesting, with the bizarre nature of “Slabtown” and the Terminus fallout, meeting a priest, the church, etc. There are so many big themes! “Slabtown” felt like an awakening, like, had I been watching it in real time, and not known what was going to happen to Beth, I might have thought that they were going to utilize Beth as the unsuspecting character who unearths, by sheer accident, this bizarre new conspiracy, which would lead us into uncharted territory. It would be neat, because Beth is kind of an unknown and there is still so much to learn and develop with her, in this moment?
But instead, they kill Beth. Like, in a very weird way. Grady turns out to be...like nothing at all? Just a mundane pipe dream? I guess? Then they just drop Grady completely and, idk, shoe-horn in everything else comprised in Alexandria. Like this thing with Jesse and Rick, and this thing with Glenn and Nicholas. Neither plot has any lasting power. Both are useless and forgotten the moment they end. Jesse dies and so do her children. Deana dies. Her husband gets murdered BIZARRELY (and not “bizarrely” in a good way), and Spencer survives only to show his true colors (absolute sociopath) and then just gets absolutely owned by Negan. They all die and I don’t know what their deaths even mean, like as if they were never meant to exist in the first place?
Anyway this is not meant to be a tinfoil hat post. I’m just noticing...things. Like Beth’s death is NEVER fully acknowledged. Like ever. There’s no burial, and then post-music box it’s like all the characters who would be most affected by her death are shoved in the background and forgotten for a while, and one of them just gets killed off meaninglessly. It’s probably the weirdest transitional moment in the entire show, and that includes season 8, because ALL of season 8 sucks ass. PS) I’m not even gonna bring up the whole Tyreese bait and switch thing. That’s a whole other post and has been covered a LOT by people who are way more versed than me in the fandom.
Season 5a was actually kind of good. But it completely loses it after “Coda.” Why???????

Emma’s character arc in the anime (or what I think it is, anyway) (anime-only)
Her "nothing has happened in a year and it's my fault" vent is -- a) kind of meta (they literally have only been passengers in their s2-story so far*. rescued by mujika/sonju, directed by Minerva, chased out by the farm force & now on the run. right now, they have so small agency in the story and not only is the narrative acknowledging it, Emma's development herself seems to be a result of it)
* in part that's also true for s1, they have always been carried a little. By Krone, for giving them the pen, and by Norman for generally being the connecting piece until he was gone and even then he outlined most elements of the plan for Emma.
-- b) interesting because right now it makes her the opposite of Norman who despite not being in the season for almost half of its run time, arguably made more goal-related progression (i.e. stealing children from farms - assuming it was them -, while Emma couldn't even go back for the Phil and others; probably having a base to bring the children they steal (i doubt the group that was with him are ALL of them), while Emma's base, the bunker, had to be abandoned). He’s the plot-driving character even when he's not there and now that he is, I'm assuming there will be more of a lead / idea of where to go from there.
It feels like a foil setup but I'm not entirely sure for what.
.
so, clearly this season's theme is not burdening everything by yourself - proof:
Ray spelled it out in ep1, Gilda reaffirmed it in ep2 and the opening’s visuals with her in the vidaflower field also seem to carry the whole “we’re finding hope together” angle
Emma did agree to it but then still said “I’m fine” after the vidaflower scene and is now blaming herself for everything that has been going subpar
also, the tidbit about the older kids always leaving more food for the younger ones also fits this theme, though it's not just Emma in that regard. and Lani and Thoma were the “don’t burden everything on yourself” argument in that scene.
I actually think Emma has slowly become more self-burdening, because I feel like back in s1, while she always seemed strong, it never felt like she actively hid from anyone. She did some things by herself like figuring out the room measurements, but she still felt free to bring up anything to the others and involve the children (place trust in them) later with the execution of the escape plan. Even when Norman's life was on the line, she never really intended to fully sacrifice herself like Ray had with the distraction plan or Norman did with his shipment - she never said anything like taking his place, she was still very much in the "we" mindset (at least if I remember correctly). We haven’t seen her work together like towards the end of s1 where she coordinated everyone - even when the kids were a huge part of the solution, like Chris knowing the bunker’s layout, it wasn’t because she told them to do that.
In a way, I feel like Emma's development actually made her more like Norman (who usually used to keep stuff to himself, and tried to juggle all the conflicts himself, and in the end, took the burden of making the plan work even at the expense of his """"death""""). Heck, her words after the vidaflower scene ("I'm / it's okay" (daijoubu)) is something Norman says/said a lot, it's basically his trademark pff-
So I can't help but assume these are connected, and Emma is - whether intentionally or not - trying to mirror Norman because in her mind, everything's been going wrong since he wasn't there to aid them anymore (which she's actually right about, which leads me to my next point).
.
The fine line between character angst and the savior trope. I hope the anime will use this whole setup with Emma’s arc instead of just being like “ah, Norman Christ has arrived, our lord and savior, how good that we don’t have to worry about anything anymore”. Because they actually, in-universe, acknowledge that "nothing has happened" and that's imo a fine line they have going on right now, which could lead to some interesting character moments.... or they completely ignore it and thank god, our lord and savior.
Because it's not a problem that they are being carried, in fact, as mentioned before they have been carried outside of s2 as well, by Norman specifically as well too. He's always been a sort of savior figure, even after his death he motivated them to go on (see ghost Normans, see Emma talking about how she promised him, see Ray on the ground wanting to continue because he promised (to Emma too but you get the point, and Norman was the one who initially saw through his plan)) - he IS in a lot of ways, a savior. So I'm not saying it's bad narratively if now he's back and the plot moves more towards the goal again. I'm saying it's questionable, if now Emma's and the narrative's acknowledgement of that lack of progression go away too. Because THEN it's actually just "everything is solved now and we're useless without you", and I think it NEEDS to develop Emma further in order for that angle to still be there (and to still be kind of questionable), but to be narrative-ly significant because it's part of Emma's arc and therefore her later actions.
In short, Emma’s low-point revolves around the stagnation and to resolve it (the lowpoint) with Norman’s return would be questionable.
SO I have hope for juicy angst but also see how this could horribly backfire.
.
Now, I've been trying to figure out were her arc is going, considering all of that.
"Burdening everything by yourself is bad" theme
Emma hates herself for not being able to do anything
Norman is her opposite / foil in that regard
.
So possible ways to go here are
a) further make Emma feel inferior to Norman, since she never got to do all those things she took upon herself and make her mental state even worse
b) it will probably lead to Emma contributing whatever she can to her family’s rescue, no matter what it takes out of her.
likely both.
The interesting thing is that while narratively this sets up a sort of opposite-dynamic between Emma and Norman, they do both share the self-burdening-thing now (I doubt that changed about Norman, but maybe it did); so I feel like this can only end in a "who's more self-sacrificial and bottling up" contest.
.
Taking the theme into account, I feel like it’s going for one of the following things, maybe multiple:
a) they all work together in the end to reach their future (probably Ray has to bonk them both and be like "shut up, we're doing this together" because I feel like he's the only one who actually got out of his self-damning hole somewhat)
b) the kids come barging in with the/a solution while Norman and Emma are busy trying to be self-sacrificial (Lani and Thoma HAVE been observing and trying to balance the self-sacrificial out throughout the season, mostly by humor, so I feel like that could work even if I don't know how it could be DONE so hmmm)
c) if someone has to do a sacrifice like Norman in s1, it won’t be done through trickery of the others, or won't work / will be stopped / backfire
Because I don’t think what will happen is that someone actually gets to sacrifice themselves without massive consequences from the other characters because that’d contradict both the overall season's theme and if it was forced upon the others, it would just mirror s1 and show no narrative growth.
It's a fickle situation because I feel like the natural evolution of this arc would be to have Emma be, the "hero" or a leader-position or something of the sort.  But the self-sacrificial theme forbids her from doing it on her own or by massively hurting herself in the process so.... ahhh idk how they'll handle that!
because I like the "together" message it seems to be aiming for but at the same time, having a character struggle with not being able to do anything by herself in the same like 6 episodes as “yay, we need to do it together!” is a little risky since while it could work, doing teamwork in a way where everyone is important, while also not validating Emma's belief is.... hard.
It could work if Norman’s arc is the opposite, to let others do more for him and let Emma take over (who needs to built confidence as a leading figure); but even then Emma has to be driving force. If Norman initiates that, he’s actually saving her in every sense.

Hiya! I just discovered your blog and was wondering if you could help try to type me (sorry this is pretty long)
1. I’m currently pretty torn between the intuitive introverts. I was able to narrow it down to INTJ, INFJ or INTP. I’m about 97.2% sure I use Ni. The only thing that’s giving me a bit of doubt is I find myself occasionally learning for the sake of learning which I’ve found is a traditionally Ne trait. Despite this I’m still pretty sure I use Ni as when I go down a rabbit hole and start learning for the sake of learning its always about a topic that interests me or is entertaining. I won’t waste my time learning about something I find mundane or drab. I resonate a lot with Ni’s “aha” moments where the correct answer simply pops into my head or a vision suddenly seems clear or a plot holes solution suddenly seems painstakingly obvious. I also resonate with starting out with a broader range of information/ possibilities and narrowing it down to one or two things. Another intuitive thing I highly relate to is living in the future. If almost never living in the present, and a constantly fixate on the future. I have a distinct, clear, and well thought out plan for the next 20 years (give or take).
Where I run into a bit of trouble is when I try to figure out which judging functions I predominantly use. It honestly feels like I use them all (though I know you’re only supposed to be able to use two well). For example I plan out everything, and set deadlines for myself. My desk often seems really messy to others especially when I’m doing art. This isn’t because I don’t value cleanliness, but because it simply makes more sense to keep all my art supplies out rather than having to spend at least fifteen minutes taking them out and then putting them away only to take them right back out the next day. I set goals based off of easily measurable, external things such as time, or grades. I make daily to do lists that outline everything I’ll need to do in the day, and some stuff to focus on if I have extra time. With my to do list I also plan out the approximate time each thing should take. When coming up with a scientific theory, I take others opinions/theories and test them against each other, and current scientific laws in order to formulate the most probable theory. External opinions (in a scientific/ logical manner) mean a lot to me (I don’t really care about how people that aren’t my friends think of me). To me these things seem very Te. But then I’m always smiling and am a fairly warm person. I want my friends to be happy, and I want to help others. I despise emotionally driven conflict(though I love debates), and while I’m not afraid to disrupt it if it threatens my morals/ is promoting something blatantly wrong (factually or morally) I do really harmony. These seem like pretty Fe things to me. As for Fi, I rarely share my negative emotions, preferring to deal with them predominantly alone. While I may not talk about them much I also have EXTREMELY strong morals. If something is crossing them I’m not going to simply ignore it for the sake of harmony. While I tend to be private I do try to be as authentic as possible. My morals are derived by information I’ve collected and decisions I’ve made myself, rather than being derived by ‘the groups’ collective morals if that makes sense. To me these things appear to be very Fi. As for Ti, sometimes I enjoy learning simply for the sake of learning. The knowledge may have no practical use to me but if I find it interesting or want to learn about it I can devote hours to it. I try and come to the most logical/accurate conclusion possible, and when I’m offering advice I may offer additional advice that takes different variables into account. The truth is really important to me as well.
2. Reading. I absolutely ADORE reading(specifically fantasy/sci-fi/dystopian books or research/scientific articles about topics that interest me). For reference there was a period of time when I had some free time and I was reading 2 or 3 books a day? Read maybe 50 books in the span of 20 days? But yeah I absolutely love reading. Just he way the book sucks you in and deposits you and a completely new world full of wonder and disaster and ugh it’s just magnificent. And don’t even get me started on impeccable character development and eeee. The way rereading a book feels like you’re reconnecting with an old best friend or going back to your childhood home and *sobs*. I also LOVE trying to predict plot twists and character deaths. Most of the time I can predict things correctly and idk it’s really fun to just try and figure out what’s going to happen before the big reveal. And the rush of satisfaction you get when you’ve guessed something right- it also helps me brace for character deaths (sorta. For example I knew *the* death in the final empire [by Brandon Sanderson] was coming since nearly the very beginning [I had my suspicions since the moment vin was introduced] but I still sobbed when the character died. [a tad off topic but what caused me to cry wasn’t the death itself but another characters reaction to it. This is often the case I find. A death of a character I love leaves me feeling empty but what typically gets me to cry is the others reactions- for thus reason funerals usually make me cry. I should also add that I only cry when I’m alone. I’ve cried around people (that aren’t my parents) a grand total of 1 time.]
Uh and daydreaming. I’m almost always daydreaming. Ie. if my brain was a search engine or whatever one tab would be reality and I would consecutively have at lest 20 other tabs open. Some of then playing videos (daydreams) others supplying music(if I’m not actively listening to real music my brain cycles through songs I have memorized. Occasionally does this with book scenes too if I’m bored [yes, I memorize some of my favourite scenes, word for word, so I can play them like a movie in my head when I, bored) others containing random info (just me thinking random stuff) etc.
3. I guess how to solve some problems? Wether it’s a math or science problem, or an argument between friends, figuring out how to solve things has always been something I’m decently good at. Math and science just. Make sense. And then with issues between people I’m good at looking at different perspectives (even ones that I don’t agree with) and playing out different scenarios/ possible outcomes of different approaches. This lets me come up with a solution that will successfully solve the problem with the least amount of negative ramifications involved
4. Hmm maybe being present? I honestly feel like life is passing me by and I’m just immobilized on the sidelines. Im so far into the future that I kinda forget to actually *live* every once in a while.
5. Honesty? Truth? Morals? These topics are all really interesting as they can be kinda subjective. The line between honesty and cruelty is so small. What is truth? Cause while yes, we have some set truths (such as the earth is orbiting the sun) so many ‘truths’ are simply subjective and completely depend on ones perspective. And morals my goodness. The stormlight archive is a really fun series that plays around with things like what is justice? And honour? I won’t get into it now but it brings up so many really interesting questions regarding morals.
6. Perspective . I think perspective is such a fascinating thing. Just. Different opinions. Seeing the world through completely different lenses. Interpreting the same thing in utterly different ways. When toying around with an idea I find it really fun to try and imagine opposing perspectives. While I can find different perspectives really interesting, they can also well... get on my nerves to say the least. Sometimes someone perspective is just? So blatantly wrong? And has absolutely no factual evidence backing it up? And part of me wants to just just scream and it would be so much easier if everyone just. Assessed the facts in front of them instead of making wild accusations or whatever without anything to support them. But yeah overall I think perspectives are really cool and they’re part of what helps to make the world diverse and life so much less interesting without different perspectives.
The future. I’ve found a bunch of my friends find thinking about the future stressful but if I’m being honest I find solace in thinking about the future. Having things planned out and knowing what I intend to do/ where I want to go takes off so much stress. I lowkey live in the future and I honestly cannot wait till it comes, and I achieve my goals. While I might be a bit scared the future excites me so much more than it’ll ever scare me.
7. Maybe add some more stuff about the judging functions and feelings and thinking etc . I absolutely adore science and math. I literally do math for fun. I’m currently aiming to get my PhD in astrophysics.
Not sure if this is relevant at all but my biggest (harmless) pet peeves are my grandmother’s door stopper (it always gets stuck in the door and then u can’t get it out and the door won’t close properly- I have an unhealthy amount of hatred for that thing AHAHJSEJKSMDJDJDJJ) and when people say some variant of “you did good”. Like nO NO YOU DID NOT DO gOoD. YOU DID W E L L (Anyways theres my little mini rant).
I’m my friend groups therapist (sorta). While I’m really not good with words and recycle the same three responses I always let everyone know that I’m here for them and they can talk to me without judgement etc. While I really don’t know what to say or do I try my best because I care about my friends and want to help them. I love them and so I want them to be able to be happy. Im always smiling (though this is more so because people don’t ask me how I’m doing when I look happy than because I’m genuinely happy. Most of the time I’m he farthest thing from that). I’m a pretty warm person who’s always happy to help, however I’m very introverted. I haven’t had a single conversation with the majority of people in my class (I’ve had a convo with maybe 5. Talk to 2 regularly. There are 26 people in my class). I never express negative emotions (with the exception of stress- I panic intensely in the 5 minutes immediately before taking a test as this helps me to completely turn off my nerves while I’m writing the exam. I may also make a joke or two about my negative emotions with close friends). I should also add that when making decisions I value logic more and think thinks through thoroughly, examining the pros and cons etc. While I take feelings and emotions into consideration when making decisions they’re more like an additional variable to consider rather than the main driving force that determines my decision. If I’m feeling really emotional and I need to make a decision I will postpone deciding until I feel more levelheaded. I’m really not impulsive in the slightest.
Thank you so much!!
INTJ
Living in the future rather than the present and your comfort in that sapce, your ability for and enjoyment of making predictions, your ability to really understand and try on different perspectives you don’t necessarily agree with, your focus on “ramifications” (aka future implications) while problem solving - this all points to high Ni.
You also show a Te preference - goals based on external metrics, to-do lists for daily tasks, logic based on the outer world (external opinion). When you said “While I take feelings and emotions into consideration when making decisions they’re more like an additional variable to consider rather than the main driving force that determines my decision” - that is a clear cut definition of Te over Fe preference.
Your tertiary Fi shows through here as well - willing to disrupt harmony if it upsets your morals, your morals being personally derived, needing to understand your emotions while alone. And lastly, your statement about “forgetting to live” from being in the future is pretty textbook inferior Se.

Hi! Just out of curiosity, which of those writing tips did you like, and which ones did you not agree with? I've seen a lot of them before and thought they were pretty common tips
i'm sure this is more than you were asking for but i'm just gonna go through em one by one and add a bit of commentary bc i have nothing better to do
1. every character’s first line should be an introduction to who they are as a person
generally a good rule to follow - personally, i try to make every element of my writing work on more than one level. dialogue for the most part should be used to reveal character (as opposed to exposition). like, obviously sometimes characters will reveal information aloud to each other which advances the plot, but well-written dialogue for a well-rounded character should reveal some combination of information that character intends to communicate as well as some information they don't (eg someone saying one thing and their body language or expression saying something else, which not only provides the information the reader needs, but also provides information about how that character wants to appear to others vs how they actually are/how they actually appear, etc)
2. even if you only wrote one sentence on a really bad day, that’s still one sentence more than you had yesterday
yes 100000%
3. exercise restraint when using swear words and extra punctuation in order for them to pack a punch when you do use them
i'm ehh about the swear words part bc they can be used to demonstrate character info, but definitely re: exclamation points and the like. idk if by "extra punctuation" they mean like "!!" which is something i personally never do - exclamation points should be used sparingly as is, but if what you're writing requires more than one right next to each other, your dialogue isn't strong enough.
4. if your characters have to kiss to show they’re in love, then theyre not in love
absolutely
5. make every scene interesting (or make every scene your favorite scene), otherwise your readers will be just as bored as you
easier said than done, but a good goal
6. if you’re stuck on a scene, delete the last line you wrote and go in a different direction, or leave in brackets as placeholders
this one is a good piece of advice, but ive seen people say (and have found out for myself) that usually the problem is further back than the most recent line you've written. rarely do you detect the problem so soon after you write it, so it helps to go even further back in the scene to find where things got muddled
7. don’t compare your first draft to published books that could be anywhere from 3rd to 103rd drafts
this is one of the most difficult items on the list and also one of the most important lol
8. i promise you the story you want to tell can fit into 100k words or less
sure, but Can doesn't necessarily mean Should. concision is the best practice, especially for less experienced writers (and i include myself in that), but i would caution that some stories work better with a little bloat or with a tasteful amount of subplot or scene that doesn't necessarily move the plot forward; however, you still need to be able to justify a scene's inclusion in the story. if it's not advancing the primary plot, it should be advancing a subplot and/or revealing more about character or even some slight worldbuilding.
i hate to mention jk rowling here because she's not that great of a writer, but think of all the people who talk about how much they love the scenes that don't show much more than the hogwarts daily grind. studying in the common room, meals, classes, just adding to the worldbuilding of hogwarts and student life and showing us what the main characters do when they're not saving the world or trying to solve a mystery. the hp books would be significantly shorter without those scenes and maybe readers wouldn't have even noticed if they'd never been added to begin with, but so many people (again, including me) love and appreciate those scenes. they make the world and the characters feel more real, more relatable, etc.
this one got long (lol irony) but basically, shooting for an arbitrary number of words should really only be a rough estimate (also unfortunately if you're trying to get picked up by a publisher then you're probably better off sticking to the status quo of your particular genre in terms of average word count). take out what isn't necessary, but maybe open up your definition of "necessary" - just a little (seriously, just a little)
9. sometimes the book isn’t working because it’s not ready to be written or you’re not ready to write it yet; let it marinate for a bit so the idea can develop as you become a better writer
idk how i feel about this. im good with writing a draft and then taking a break for a while before going back to it, but this just seems like a really effective excuse for not writing something.
maybe it's just how this tip is phrased idk i just feel like the idea of you or the story "not being ready yet" is kinda silly. if you've been hacking away for a while and getting nothing out of it but frustration, then yeah take a week or two off. but this makes it sound like "oh you haven't matured enough to tell this story yet. try again in a few years." imo it's always better to write a steaming pile of shit and make it better through editing than to put it off until you feel "ready" - bc, at least in my own experience, it's very easy to convince yourself that you're not ready yet instead of taking the plunge and just getting started
10. a story written in chronological order takes a lot more discipline and is usually easier to understand than a story written with flashbacks
this one is confusing to me bc i'm not sure if they're referring to the writing process or the story itself. i agree that writing it in chronological order takes more discipline than writing whatever scene tickles your fancy at a given moment, but just because you WRITE it in chronological order doesn't mean the final product has to be structured that way. likewise, chronological order is usually easier for a reader to follow, but you don't necessarily need to WRITE the story in order. do what works best for you.
personally ive found over time that i prefer to go in order unless i get stuck somewhere, in which case ill move on and go back to it later. so there are a lot of holes in my drafts, but i do try to write in order so the timeline of the story stays clear in my mind, and also so i can get up close and personal with the mechanics of the story, like how different events and scenes lead to what happens next, etc. and like the tip mentions, it's a fantastic disciplinary practice - otherwise you could write all the fun/easy scenes and be left with very little motivation to write the more complex or less favored scenes (which, contrary to that tip up there, are sometimes necessary even if they're not AS exciting as others)
~~
as usual sorry my answer was so long djsksksksk

2000s Horror Catch-Up Post
I’m a few weeks behind in writing about our horror movie series, oops. I’m gonna do two posts -- one for movies that were good, and one for movies that were boring. This is the boring post. You might enjoy these movies! And that’s cool! But I did not.
youtube
Feardotcom (2002), directed by William Malone, is about an investigation into the mysterious deaths of individuals linked together only by their recent access to a certain very mysterious website. A detective and a pathologist (??) inexplicably team up and kind of fall in love despite a complete lack of on-screen chemistry or reasoning to explain any of the events that transpire.
The movie is a nonsensical mess of plot holes (why is a pathologist solving murders? why does a woman let her hemophiliac child play in an abandoned factory?) and it’s boring, to boot. It does tap into some kind of interesting early internet fears, and may have been one of the earliest cultural references to “red rooms” (ie, websites where murders are livestreamed for money) but it’s just...poorly made and achingly dull.
youtube
All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006), directed by Jonathan Levine and starring Amber Heard (yes, that Amber Heard) tries to be a witty twist on the “final girl” setup. It’s a basic cabin-in-the-woods, teens-being-drunk-and-horny-before-getting-murdered movie, with a big twist ending that thinks it’s more clever than it is. It’s mostly just tedious.
Characters die one by one in gruesome ways that do nothing to really advance the plot or build tension since their deaths don’t really register with or affect the rest of the characters. And the implications of the ending hit maybe a little bit different in 2020 -- I don’t know whether the filmmaker intended to create this film as incel apologia, but it’s hard not to read it that way today. Watch this one side-by-side with Jennifer’s Body to get a real clear idea of the difference in how “beautiful girl weaponizes her sexuality” comes across when a filmmaker is thoughtful vs when a filmmaker is trying to just cash in on subverting tropes without understanding them in the first place.
youtube
30 Days of Night (2007), directed by David Slade and based on a comic series by Steve Niles, is about a small, isolated Alaska town besieged by vampires during a month-long winter night. It’s a clever idea, but the movie itself is just kind of “meh.” Bonus: cool visuals, some really creative gore, some eye-candy casting choices. Negatives: a lack of any clear characterization or plot development.
The problem with this movie is it spends essentially zero time making us care about its characters. Sure, we know that the main guy has relationship problems with his ex and probably confronting those is going to play into the plot somehow, but we’re not given a lot of reason to especially care about these people or even really tell them apart. We’re also not given any clear idea of who/what these vampires are all about. They’re dressed like they came from a Vampire the Masquerade LARP, so how did they end up in wild Alaska? Head vampire dude spouts philosophical nonsense that sounds deep but doesn’t really mean anything. The rest of the vampires don’t exactly seem to be wholly sentient? It reads kind of like an “I Am Legend” adaptation except it’s also trying to be The Thing at the same time.
idk. Neat idea, fun visuals, but ultimately pretty boring. I haven’t read the comics, so I acknowledge that they might be a lot better.

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
My muse is:   canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO? (i mean, he’s rather liked overall but there’s not that many ppl who rp him?)
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  OH YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO / KIND OF?
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. --> hard to say. kinda yes, but then not that much. there are characters who sure were more relevant.
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO.
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. <-- depends who you ask, heh
How strictly do you follow canon?  — In general I keep my Kenpachi close to canon, but I’m not very strict about it. I like to fill up the holes left in canon story with headcanons, and I’m open for plots that are canon-divergent as long as they simply make sense, logic-wise. I’m also willing to deviate from canon when comes to shipping -- for me it’s about chemistry and chemistry only; I have a few ships I like when comes to dynamics and such, but I wouldn’t turn down a character my Kenpachi grew to like/love only because it’s not on my ship list. Of course all the canon relationships are relevant and you can totally jump straight to the kind of interactions your character used to have with mine in the manga, but anything more than that needs to be developed first. Also, I acknowledge the relation between Kenpachi and Unohana as canon, but I see it more as a mother-child relationship; even if there’s some twisted kind of affection in it, it’s hard for me to imagine them living together as a happy little family. I know, the idea is cute, but personally I think there’s far too much bitter feelings between them so it could ever work this way.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  Uh, I’m not sure what makes Kenpachi interesting for other people as a character, so I’ll just say a few words about what could make my version of Kenpachi possibly interesting to interact with, I guess. Kenpachi is a guy not only of great power, but of great experience as well. People tend to see him as a bloodthirsty berserk with all brawn and no brains, but there’s so much more to him than meets the eye -- he’s more clever than he likes to show, and while his kind of wisdom might be not so obvious and ‘classical’ kind, he has it and he uses it both in his fights and in interactions with others. Although he might make an impression that his own strength is all he cares about, it’s only partially true. Kenpachi likes to help others become stronger and watch them grow just as much as he likes to improve his own power; he hates to see wasted potential, and he often provokes or challenges people into situations that, in his opinion, will help them to discover their strength or improve as a person. He’s not a touchy-feely guy and he hardly lets it show, but he cares about the ones who are close to him and would risk own life without a second thought to protect them -- however, this other, more private and more vulnerable side of him usually stays hidden from the world, as he’s not willing to show it to anyone except those who worked hard to gain his trust.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  Kenpachi is not interested in people who aren’t willing to fight -- not only literally, but also fight for themselves, for their goals, dreams, fight to overcome their weaknesses, their bad experiences, their fears. He has little patience for those who whine and do nothing to improve their life, so instead of support they get as much as disdainful look from him. He’s hardly interested in interacting with anyone who can’t offer him either a good fight or a good challenge of some other kind -- or a way to kill boredom at least -- and can be pretty unresponsive if the way other character approaches him doesn’t pick up his curiosity. On top of that, he can be a bit of a handful at times -- he gets annoyed pretty easily, tends to be restless and snappy when bored, he speaks before he thinks and since he’s pretty foulmouthed and pulls no punches he often hurts others even while it was not his intention.
What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  My muse himself. Kenpachi was my favorite character from the first time I’ve seen him (around 2008 or so), and when I discovered Bleach rp on tumblr (by accident while hunting for pics lmao) I decided to give it a shot.
What keeps your inspiration going?  —  I don’t really need inspiration to write him. I can do it at pretty much any time given, likely because we’re similar character-wise and it takes me like zero effort to get in his skin. The only thing I need is a rough idea for some plot and BOOM here we go. Unless it’s a chat rp, then I don’t need even this.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES? / NO. <-- you tell me
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO.
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO.
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day?  YES / NO.
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO.
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO.
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO.
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  I don’t have any problem with criticism in general. If something about my character or the way I write him bothers you, feel free to tell me. I can’t promise I’m gonna care though -- Kenpachi is a very personal muse for me, and the way I portray him sometimes can differ from other portrayals or from what’s ‘canon’ simply because he shares a lot of qualities with me as his writer. Fact that you criticized my portrayal doesn’t mean I will change a single thing about it, but sure I won’t get offended or stop interacting with you only cause you said a word or two. The only criticism I never publish/respond to is shit aimed at stirring up drama, as people who write such are not worth my time.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —  FUCK YEAH. Some of them really force me to think about stuff I wouldn’t have thought about otherwise, and make me discover my character anew in some places I thought I already know him ins and outs. I like all the questions, no matter the topic, and I do my best to answer them with details.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  Sure I’d be curious about what their reasoning is, like, what makes them think things aren’t the way I see them? What is their headcanon on this particular topic? Do they disagree completely, or just some part of it doesn’t lie well with them?
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  Depends how they carry it out. If it’s like ‘okay i don’t think so but it’s cool, everyone can have own opinion’ it’s totally fine, i’m far too old to bang heads over such silly shit (there’s no ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ portrayal btw -- everyone does it their own way and there’s nothing to whine about). If they come to my askbox solely with the purpose to pester me about it, and do it in a way that makes me question their age and/or mental health, I’m gonna block their ass out of existence.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  I don’t care and it’s highly unlikely I’ll ever notice they do unless they make effort to bring it to my inbox. In the end it’s their problem, not mine; I’m just gonna continue doing my thing while they’ll be wasting time and energy on writing shit nobody cares about.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  Sure. English ain’t my native so if I write something that makes no sense just lemme know -- it’s a way to learn, too, and if you tell me there’s a chance I don’t make the same mistake again.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  Yeah, I’m pretty laidback and I don’t give a flying fuck about 99% of things that tend to raise a lot of hackles. It’s nearly impossible to offend me, and I have a lot of understanding for the fact other people have their own lives, likes, problems, ideas, families, health issues, work routines and whatnot, so I never pester anyone for replies or anything rp related. However, I’m a confirmed extrovert in this kingdom of introverts which is tumblr, so I tend to hang out on Discord/chats a lot and then think I must be a fucking pain in the rear for my more introverted friends cause I’m always the one to message them first, and it makes me want to melt into a sad pool of shame for being such a needy fucktard.

digimon tri
haven’t heard of it | absolutely never watching | might watch | currently watching | dropped | hated it | meh | a positive okay | liked it | liked it a lot! | loved it | a favorite
don’t watch period | drop if not interested within 2-3 episodes first 2 movies | give it a go, could be your thing | 5 star recommendation | don’t watch if some stupid stuff happening would be a dealbreaker for you
there are a lot of very questionable plot developments and plot holes that are very infuriating, so if that’s something that makes you think you wouldn’t be able to enjoy it, you probably won’t. as much as I like tri, there is definitely a reason why it’s so hated. as for the first two movies, I say this cause the first movie is very much just an introduction while the second one is where you actually get a feel for where the plot is headed. the series really picks up at the third movie, but I feel if you aren’t enjoying the second you probably wouldn’t like the later movies that are weaker than the third and also by the third you’d be halfway through and might as well just finish it.
also don’t watch tri if you’re looking for a series specifically about the 8 chosen. while they are there and do all get pretty nice development and stories, the story is meiko and meicoomon’s story. it is about them. they are the characters at the center of the plot. I would recommend watching it even if you don’t want to watch something that focuses a lot on a new character, because a majority of the chosen’s arcs are really good, but if you really can’t stand meiko, you will not be able to stand tri.
fav characters: Hikari and Meiko! Hikari has been my favorite since I was a kid, and I must admit it’s lowkey just cause I think she has a lot of unused potential?? as for meiko i found her character very relatable and was actually really invested in her and meicoomon’s plotline. also gonna give a special mention to mimi here cause while she’s not my favorite, I used to not like her in the other seasons, but tri made me love her character.
least fav characters: fuck mystery man/evil gennai/whatever the fuck his name is. hate that guy.
fav relationship: hhhhhhhhhhhh. I Have A Lot. i love how meiko and mimi are the embodiment of gals being pals. i love jyou and gomamon, since they have such seemingly conflicting personalities but just get along so well at this point. i love yamato and taichi’s relationship. Just the whole “we are going to fist fight to solve our problems” and yamato being realistically frustrated by taichi’s sudden problem with accidentally causing collateral damage, along with how taichi is actually rightfully worried about these things. idk I like a taichi and yamato conflict where you can actually completely understand each side, and neither side is definitively right or being manipulated.
fav moment: when meicoomon dies because of how much fucking emotion it made me feel, I cry so hard just thinking about that scene. also the beginning scene of the creation of the holy beasts in soushitsu? That scene is so so good, I love the music and the aesthetic and the suspense. also every cute interaction between the digimon and eachother/their partners, especially that one scene where Hikari comforts Plotmon whose looking at the dark forest all scared post-reboot.
headcanons/theories: this isn’t an actual theory and more just a hope but we better learn more about the og chosen and I’m hoping maki may not actually be dead :(
unpopular opinion: it was a good decision to not include the 02 kids in tri oof (like the in-universe reason they weren’t in tri was atrocious and they should’ve handled the 02 kids being missing waaay better, but the 02 kids not being in tri was not bad in and of itself)
how’d you find it: I remember scrolling through tumblr and seeing it get mentioned before it came out, and then kind of forgot about it until I saw a gif of it sometime not too long before the 3rd movie came out. I decided to watch it and it dragged me back into the digimon fandom! like before tri I still had fond memories of digimon from watching it when I was little, but tri was what made me fall completely back into digi-hell.
random thoughts: watch digimon. also digimon tri wasn’t actually that bad.

bringing an era to a close (avengers endgame spoilers)
Avengers (2012) was the movie that got me out of a decade-long fandom hiatus and back into fandom and fanfic, and today I went to see Avengers: Endgame, so I feel like I need to make some kind of comment on the Avengers era coming to a close, though clearly the MCU era isn’t done.  My thoughts on the movie (WITH SPOILERS) behind the cut.  But, in spoiler-free summary, I laughed some, cried a lot, and enjoyed the action.  The best movies of the MCU thus far though? Thor: Ragnarok, Spiderman: Homecoming, Iron Man (1), and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  Shout out to Ant Man too, and I haven’t seen Ant Man and Wasp yet.  Also I will preface this with: I have not read any other fandom discourse on this movie at all yet.
Okay so first off.  The actual plot?  Made NO FUCKING SENSE WHATSOEVER GODDAMN IT WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS GARBAGE??!?!
Like okay time travel is always terrible, always, no matter what, because the cases where someone manages to make a time travel closed loop are so rare that they barely exist (shout-out to Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure for that though).  My problem really is when shows and movies that SHOULD have logical rules DON’T.  I can suspend disbelief for fantasy universes that don’t even attempt to make a scientific explanation, but when they TRY to make it scientific and then they make it garbage, it just really pisses me off.
NAMELY: they didn’t develop the theory of parallel bifurcating timelines enough to actually explain anything, they said they had to return the infinity stones to the moment they were taken from to avoid changing the past because they wanted to preserve the past five years....AND THEN THANOS CAME FROM THE PAST TO THE FUTURE AND NEVER WENT BACK AGAIN, THEREFORE ERASING THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THIS TIMELINE.  Like this is the same level of complete nonsense as why freaking Eobard Thawne looks like Harrison Wells and is also still alive in the Flashpoint future on CW’s Flash.
What about Gamora??  She didn’t go back to the past.  She didn’t get dusted (I presume).  What the actual fuck happened to her?
The infinity stones can CREATE ENTIRE UNIVERSES FULL OF LIFE but they can’t bring back Natasha and Vision?  Why the fuck not?  Why are the people who came back after five years via the gauntlet not five years older?  Unless all of Peter’s friends were also dusted, why the hell are they still in high school five years later?
If STEVE went back and STAYED in the past then HOW DID HE END UP IN THE SAME FUTURE.  He disappeared and then oops there’s an old dude who must have walked there and been wandering around this whole time attending this goddamn funeral and nobody fucking noticed.  What the actual fuck.
Like if they hadn’t tried to explain it at all, maybe I could suspend disbelief and be like “okay superhero magic whatever,” but they tried and that makes it worse.
ANYWAY
Let me try to think of what I liked about this.  Valkyrie, of course, who was badass as hell and I LOVE that Thor was like “nah I’m not gonna be king, you’re already the king,” and did you notice nobody said the word “queen” in there?  She’s fucking awesome and I love her.
I liked Tony’s kid, who was adorable, and also my kids have literally said to me “I love you three thousand” so like, that’s very believable.  I liked that Tony didn’t want to erase the past five years because that would erase his own daughter out of existence.
I liked the joking about Steve’s ass, because yes, I appreciate a healthy objectification of men to match the objectification of women, and he does have an amazing ass.
I liked that Steve got to have his happy ending and dance with Peggy on one level, but I also didn’t like the way it happened at all, because the time travel made no fucking sense and also: WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO SHARON CARTER.  I get that I guess it wasn’t playing well with audiences, and I can only imagine they did the same thing with Bruce/Natasha because hello that romance storyline got NO kind of closure whatsoever in this entire series, but the fact that they just left the thread hanging is really what drives me nuts.
Oh, but I did love the “on your left” callback, so good job there guys.
I liked the story with Nebula a lot, though it also didn’t make much sense at all.  I liked Thor’s buddies, though I didn’t like the kind of fat-shaming “Thor’s let himself go” thing?  And not just because I was disappointed at not having a shot of Chris Hemsworth looking sexy, but like, I don’t like that Thor was kind of reduced to comic relief.
idk there are so many characters in this and there was so much stuff that I can’t even remember what I liked anymore.
As for Natasha, man, I don’t even know.  I liked that Clint went on a murder spree after his family got killed.  I like that Natasha wanted him to get back with his family.  I didn’t like that she had to die for it to happen, or that she didn’t get any real action at all, or that we never fucking found out ANY OF HER BACKSTORY.  Remember how great she was in Avengers 1?  What happened to that?
Who fucking knows what happened with Loki, nobody ever explained any of that.  Did Steve ever find out that it was Red Skull guarding the Soul Stone?
...........was Thanos right to remove half of the universe’s population?  Like, there’s that line about the pod of whales, and I definitely had times in the first infinity war movie where I thought about it, but like . . . yeah there are other solutions besides random killing half of life but randomly bringing them back also doesn’t solve the problem.
Anyway Captain Marvel was awesome and badass and I appreciated the scene with all the ladies teaming up, even though it felt kind of like it was forced in and Extra, just like the huge clash of the armies scene which was basically like “HERE IS A MOVIE POSTER ISN’T THIS DRAMATIC.”
Honestly also though: why didn’t they let Thor wear the gauntlet?  He’s Asgardian, he’s not human.  If he could handle that ~power of an entire sun~ thing in Ragnarok he can probably handle some infinity stones.
Okay, maybe I will have more to say later but that’s what I’ve got for now.  Mostly I think I’m just disappointed that for a movie that made me cry so much, it was largely unsatisfying because of the gaping plot holes?

The vibe from season 1 to season 2 is so so different and I honestly much preferred s1. Which I will expand on under the cut, if anyone cares to read my ramblings XD
I mean, for starters, jack the ripper is a way over played trope based on very real and horrific murders. It just seems unclassy to tie it into your writing/story to me? And frankly, gross, creepy, and not engaging.
And the science!! Like, they touch briefly on the “caveman” lives, and how their grammar isn’t great (which seems to be done for humor more than anything) but like!! the amount of evolution and brain changes we went through as a species in that amount of time?! How can you even adapt to life when you’re physically not mentally evolved enough to? And diseases!! And mental health!! And why aren’t the time holes being investigated more?? Did people just stop caring eventually? Like where are my science crews on the water 24/7 trying to figure it out?? I mean, okay, that’s not the focus of the show, sure, but I would still like to get at least some references as to what the heck is going on.
I’ve never thought about why Alfhildr (did I spell that right? rip my dyslexia) would be a cop, but now that you mention it, yeah. I guess I just assumed she wanted the adrenaline, or similar warrior status, or something? Idk. Also! I really like Lars’ character, but nothing about his character development made sense in s2. I feel like they tried to address the very real issue of drug addiction, which they started to do a good job of in s1, but completely dismantled in s2? Like, he was seeing a psychiatrist and taking meds, but then he completely stopped and started using again because it would help him solve a case? Seems very arrogant and hero complex-y to me, but okay. Also, what was the deal with Odin that wasn’t really Odin that was actually just a believer in another universe? Like, did I miss something?
I consider myself to be pretty adequate at keeping up with things, but the ending just mind fcked me. Like for real, none of it made sense. Lars, and his problems were never cleared up, which okay, season 3 maybe. The alternate reality episode didn’t make sense, bc how? Why and how did it happen? And HOW did the witch lady take control and alter things? Why was Ben Joseph after the dude, and why did he only want to tell Lars about it? Not to mention that the ending with Alfhildr’s origins made me kind of uncomfortable? Like, it seemed unexpected and I totally thought they were going to become a couple? Or at least they’re super cute bffs, so adding this element just seems… weird to me.
All in all, I enjoyed it. But I also can see the shows flaws. All I can think is that the pandemic messed them up, or HBO/the company bosses made the writers go in a specific direction and rush things. I feel like they could have kept the exact same plot and I would have been happy and unbothered if they just like, vibed it out differently, if that makes sense?
ok listen you’re SO right about beforeigners, I love the concept and my linguistics-loving heart skips a beat when they break out the old Norse and 19th century norwegian and I just WISH the show did not do so many of the other things it did because it could be so much better. forgive me for barging in I just saw your post and yeah
oh dude NO need to apologize it's so good to find someone who's watched it other than my parents lmaooo. no i so agree with you, there's so much POTENTIAL there and while it's enough to keep me watching i do have so many "imagine if they could do right by this super cool concept" daydreams. this got super long so im gonna stick it under the cut lol
like first off i wish they didn't feel the need to limit it to a cop show? like i get that it's easy and has automatic intrigue and a tried and true success record, but it's kind of lazy. aside from being Very Over the glorification of cops, i really am so invested in the idea of a show that explores the intersections of all the different spheres that were impacted by the repercussions of their worldbuilding? like you have this setup! now show me the teachers and childcarers. the social workers. clothing production and the food service world. the economic differences—the old norse who are trying to rely on the gift economy only to be hit by the closed fist of capitalism. show the tensions and social movements. actually explore the neo-luddite plot instead of throwing it away after a few episodes because yeah, actually, the industrial revolution has fucked a lot of shit up!! dig into it!!
like alfhildr is great and i did watch all of season 1 in a day so maybe i missed it but i still don't even remember if i know why she wanted to be a cop, of all things? it feels like her moral compass—and history as a shieldmaiden of the old ways at a time when christianity was crusading and trying to impose their authority on her people and her way of life—would chafe against that kind of imposed bureaucratic authority on her community. if they desperately wanted to keep the murder mystery component, i would've been more interested in an "alfhildr works a minimum wage job to pay off her student debt, unable to find better paying work because of temporal discrimination. one of her friends/coworkers/neighbors is killed and the authorities don't pay any attention and want to sweep it under the rug. she works to try to solve the murder—often at odds with local law enforcement—while also protecting her other friend/coworker/neighbor because she's wrapped up in the human trafficking of time displaced people. there still can be the intrigue of her origins, too!
in this situation, her co-protagonist is her coworker/neighbor who isn't time displaced, but is a migrant of color. maybe like lars, they have a family they love deeply and complexly, which parallels and foils alfhildr's strong non-biological kinship ties. paired together, the two allow a fuller, more nuanced exploration and interplay between the dynamics of this fictional time-ism or whatever they call it and the already established xenophobia and racism that pervades norwegian society, the differences there, and the shared experiences of poverty. discrimination, loss of home, and adapting to a new language. they of course also have a fun interpersonal repartee like the duo in the existing show!
and like okay sure fine if we're not Overhauling the whole series...if they had to make it a cop drama (which again. formulaic in a way that undersells how cool this setup is!)...they could've still had lars be the above. and in either iteration they should have people of color/immigrants/jewish people in the writers' room! they'd be able to craft the narrative far more fully and address the Bigger Issues i was speaking to in that post (which almost certainly come from a writers room that's almost entirely white).
and as far as season 2 goes....like the first three episodes and the last three episodes were Completely and Entirely different. why did i have to care about the people who were pretending to be the scotland yard people at all again? i don't feel like they had any bearing on the overarching plotlines? why did they have to accuse their only jewish character of being jack the ripper for most of his featured time??? what was the point of starting the season with his family's shabbat prayers if it wasn't going to be relevant?? and if alex was going to play the role he did, it would have been great if he'd been developed. i don't really have any feelings about him, because they never really let us know him. i feel like his twist could've paid off so much more if we'd had an attachment, you know? also, season 2 could've stood to mention alfhildr's best friend like, at least once!
i do wonder - and this will of course be revealed in time - if they learned they weren't going to be able to have a season 3. because the reason i can see for why you would shove so much together like that in such a rushed way (like the reveal at the end!! which i saw your post about and if you want to talk about my dms are open!! bonkers!!) is that you're worried you won't be able to unfold it in later episodes and you want to leave your fans on a kind of satisfied note? like in fairness to them, that's a pretty wild ending stroke!! and i guess if it can't be renewed, i don't feel like i have 16000 unanswered questions, which we would have, if we'd ended without finding out any hint of alfhildr's origins.
but then maybe they were just working within the parameters of 6 episode seasons and tried to bite off more than they could chew lmao! anyway, i totally hear you on the linguistics thing—it's cool. just like the intros—showing all the confluence and syncretism of people from different time periods is cool! and is why i cared enough to write out this whole essay!! anyway you're absolutely not barging in, thank you for dropping by <33

Rant - Rise of the Isle of the Lost
(alternative title: i read rise of the isle of the lost so you don’t have to)
first off i’m probably biased but if you got something out of my opinions in the past then maybe you’ll find this interesting as well.
there are spoilers, obviously, but if you ask me, you really don’t have to read the book, save your money. (i put a short summary under the cut so you know what’s going on)
i’m gonna be honest this turned more into “i’m picking this book apart” than just a rant lmao. i blame the excessive amount of cinemasins i’ve been watching over the past few days.
and be warned - this is gonna be LONG and not very nice.
~summary if you haven’t read the book~ Arabella (Ariel’s niece) snatched the trident to fuck around, causes a storm, and loses it in the ocean. Waves carry it through the barrier to isle territory, because the barrier is penetrable for a short amount of time due to Arabella’s magic fuckery i think.
Uma hears a rumor that the trident is here, but she has no way to get to it before someone else finds it.
Captain Hook hosts a race where everyone can enter with anything that can swim, the price is a pirate ship. Uma wins the race and now has a ship and a pirate crew consisting of Harry, Gil and a few others.
Through Sophie (Yen Sid’s apprentice) they learn that Ursula’s golden seashell necklace is on the Isle of the Doomed (where Maleficent’s castle is) and they sail there to find it, because there’s enough magic left in it to guide them to the trident or something.
They find the trident but then Mal&Co show up.
While all this is happening Arabella tells the rotten four that she lost the trident, and through the magic mirror they find out where it is, and that a lot of people on the isle of the lost are looking for it, so they set out to find it first. FGM catches them as they try to steal a boat that belongs to Ben’s family, but Ben shows up to convince FGM that it was fine. The five of them then drive the boat to the barrier, where Mal pokes a hole and calls the trident to her, just as Uma is about to get her hands on it, overpowering Uma.
There’s also a sideplot where Ben goes to the great wall of China with Lonnie to solve a conflict between two villages but this is all totally irrelevant.
~end of summary~
and just to get this out of the way - don’t give me that “it’s a book for children” bs. just because it’s for a younger demographic doesn’t mean it can’t be good.
ok let’s start with the things i liked:
- Lonnie has a sword (which is a clear sign of lesbianism)
- Jane wants to do magic and she wants to help people fairy godmother style. i love this because 1. it gives her more personality and 2. it’s exactly how i imagined her lmao.
- Mal uses magic despite the magic ban.
- i like Gil, he’s kinda cute. and Harry too, and the dynamic between him and Uma and Gil. (ot3 anyone?)
now to the cons:
- Harry has this obsession with his hook (which he has to hold in his hand cause he still has both hands) which i find interesting, it has so much angst potential but i already know i’m gonna have to write a fic about that myself cause it’s gonna be hella disappointing in the movie because either 1. it’s not talked about at all or 2. it’s only good for a joke or two. (”oh no! my hook!” cue sitcom laugh track)
- the use of the word “guyliner”
- CJ is Harry’s younger sister, Harriet is his older sister. the gastons twins are gil’s brothers. Melissa de la Cruz *grasping at straws*: conSisTEnCy
- speaking of consistency, the anti-heroes club isn’t mentioned once, in case you were wondering.
- there’s another school besides dragon hall on the isle, it’s called Serpent Prep. like, i know there are characters (mostly Uma) who appear now for the first time without being mentioned before, ever. i can forgive that. but making up a whole new school just adds to the confusion of how big the isle actually is, and it’s also completely redundant.  this world just feels like a car accident where more cars keep crashing into the wrecks that are already blocking the street.
- carlos being in favor of the magic ban. what. remember how he was a slave for the better part of his life? “people should learn to live without magic” suck my toe (i made another post about what i think of the magic ban here)
- idk if this is on melissa de la cruz or what but the writing is just. not good. the sentences are boring, the use of adverbs is weird, the characters are shallow, the worldbuilding is.. idk how to describe it. it’s like when you look at the window of a shop and it looks nice, but when you enter it’s empty. or like a cardboard facade.
- all the characters do and say the things that are most obvious for them, but nothing beyond that. there’s no life in the characters and the world doesn’t draw you in.
- also the pacing is awful. in my first reading session i read about a third but it felt like nothing had happened. there’s so much setting up (and most of it is boring, it feels like every character just appears for their mandatory line but it has no relevance) and i’m just waiting for the plot.
- janelos. if you’re a janelos shipper than good for you, but i’m not and i’m salty. they could have such a great platonic relationship, why why why does it have to be romantic? (don’t bother, i already know the answer) they had a scene together, which was kinda sweet (through my platonic goggles), but “her laugh is cute” is not fucking enough to make a romantic relationship believable.
their entire romantic relationship is built on “he was a boy, she was a girl” and nothing else.
- also devie. i’m pretty indifferent to this ship in general but the way it’s portrayed is so lackluster, like. doug shows up (for no other reason than showing up at least once in this book), is called evie’s boyfriend and that’s kinda it. we didn’t see how they got together, we don’t see what their relationship is like (except doug sorta putting evie on a pedestal), it’s just.. kinda there. wow. so much feeling.
there’s so much time wasted on meaningless worldbuilding that there’s no time left for giving life to the characters and their relationships. (actually there would be time, the book is not that long)
- (safe for uma, harry and gil) this book doesn’t even try to get me to like the main characters and completely relies on the fact that i already know and like them from preceding works.
- there’s always a parallel plot with Ben going on in every book, which is.. not terrible, but especially in this one it’s very distracting from the main plot, besides, what he’s doing is rarely all that interesting.  he’s travelling with lonnie and they had a nice scene together but it ended before it got anywhere near interesting. (Lonnie was about to get character development but then it was about Ben the end)
- not that i dislike ben, or that i don’t care for what he’s doing, but his sideplot is kinda just there so that is already short book isn’t even shorter. in the last book it had at least something to do with what the others were doing, but this time it doesn’t have any significance to the main storyline whatsoever. imo they should’ve just cut the whole bit out and put this content somewhere else, idk, give him his own diary or something, but now it’s just annoyingly strewn throughout the actual story.
(edit: you know what nevermind, this whole plotline is bullshit i’m not even gonna go into it but they punch a whole into the great wall of china and i crave Death™)
- the room that is taken up by ben’s sideplot could’ve been used to elaborate the relationships between the characters, or the characters’ inner lives. this book does so much tell not show that everything feels flat. “they’re best friends, they’re boyfriend/girlfriend, they love each other very much” ya thanks for telling me but is anything gonna happen to back these statements up or
- there’s an entire page that’s basically a montage of the pirate crew repairing Uma’s ship and it’s hella redundant (just like 50% of the book tbh)
- somehow interesting scenes are left out and when the plot is picked up again it’s “this happened and now we’re somewhere else”.
- the other characters get a sideplot too, which would be nice except they all have like 1 character trait and it’s all pretty meaningless. plus, the chapters are all super short and jumping between plotlines all the damn time is annoying.
- new characters appear just to be a plot device. happened with freddie and maddie in book 2, happens now with Arabella in book 3. she’s the niece of Ariel, but we don’t know who her mother is (based on her being described as wearing purple i’m gonna guess it’s Alana) which is excuable because i guess you can’t expect the readers to know all the names of Ariel’s sisters, but it just adds to her being a throwaway character. $100 that Arabella won’t appear in dd2.
- actually, going off on a tangent about maddie here, wasn’t her background story basically the same as uma’s? that she was a friend of Mal’s when they were little? whatever happened to her, guess well never know cause she’s never gonna appear again.
- new things are made up just for convenience, or idk maybe it’s supposed to flesh out the world but it all feels so disjointed and loveless.  the annual seaside festival (i think it’s called?) where king triton whips out the old trident to give Arabella an opportunity to lose the trident in the first place, the R.O.A.R. competiotion (i forgot what that’s short for too, but it’s a mix of parcour and fencing, whatever) just to give Jay some other purpose besides “is also there” instead of, idk, an actual personality and inner life (but the VK’s dealing with the aftermath of growing up on the Isle is probably too serious and scawy uwu) like idk it’s probably the same in a lot of other stories, but instead of giving life to this world it all feels meaningless (like 98% of wicked world tbh)
- Lonnie has an older brother who wants to launch a hiphop career, and his name is Li’l Shang, which is an absolute fucking joke and takes the cake for worst name in this franchise.
- Ursula’s golden seashell is on the isle because for some reason it didn’t make it to Auradon where it was supposed to be displayed at the museum. i get that they want to use what they can from disney movies but this is just bullshit. the seashell being on the isle makes no fucking sense whatsoever.
- the critical overuse of the word “swaggered”
- seriously it’s like de la cruz saw one of those “words to use instead of walked”- tumblr posts and picked two (swaggered and sauntered)
- almost halfway through, wondering if there’s gonna be a plot
the things in this story just sorta happen, there’s no real suspense curve.
- ok this is really subjective but “Lost Revenge” for a name for a ship is so unnecessarily edgy lmao
- i’m writing most of this stuff as i come across it and at this point i’m just groaning in agony. they just introduced a new character, Sophie, who is Yen Sid’s sorcerer’s intern. intern for sorcery. on the isle of the lost. sure. also, apparently yen sid brought her with him when he moved to the isle like???? i mean the people of auradon already didn’t give a shit about the children that were born on the isle, but they just let yen sid take a little girl with him??? what the fffffffff (also sophie is another throwaway character that will never appear again. i’m blaming this on the fact that there are approximately 462 different canons in this franchise and we don’t get the chance to get attatched to characters that only function as plot devices in whatever canon they appear in)
- a new character called Charlie is introduced as the village elder of Stone Village (china, next to the wall) and he’s only a few years older than ben. he’s the descendant of ??? (molly and arthur weasly, probably) (seriously this is a throwaway character if i’ve ever seen one)
- mal’s morals are inconsistent. she has no problem using her spellbook for minor inconveniences but doesn’t want to steal a boat because it’s not the auRaDOn wAy.
- evie scolding mal for using the spellbook too often because that way she’ll never learn to live without magic (yadda yadda) but she also does this when mal opens a gate with magic in order to get to the boat they are going to steal, even though the matter is pretty time-sensitive and they had no other way of getting around that gate. like i get the idea of “solving problems without magic”, but this was really not the time to play moralizer, evie.
- there’s a yacht club building and FGM is giving it a new coat of paint with her wand solving problems without magic eat my entire ass.
she keeps using her wand!!! what the fuck!!!!
- i’m not going to go into detail over this but everything falls into place so conveniently that there aren’t really any obstacles to overcome and every conflict is solved within a matter of sentences.
- there are small cliffhangers every 200 words because it keeps jumping between plotlines. before you even get the chance to get into one of the plotlines it’s over again and it takes ages for anything to move along cause the stories keep interrupting each other.
- i’m losing my fucking mind over here as we speak. FGM catches the rotten four trying to steal a boat and she seriously thinks sending them back to the isle is an appropriate punishment. this is absolutely ludicrous and completely disproportionate. “this is exactly what we feared when we let villains into Auradon” they! are! children! (i know technically they’re teens but this doesn’t change the fact that imprisoning them on the isle again is super fucking cruel) i can’t believe how terribly literally everything is handled in this goodforsaken fantasy world. (not to mention that this is an insult to the character of FGM)
- so it’s been established that Mal can turn back time and she uses it when Uma reaches the trident. mal turns back time, uma doesn’t have the trident yet. so far so good, right?
look, i know time travel stuff is always prone to plotholes, but this is just ridiculous. 1. when she first uses it she comes to the conclusion “those with villain blood appear to be immune”, because evie wasn’t affected by it. it works on uma (though she remembers reaching the trident but doesn’t understand what happened) and it’s not made clear how it actually affects someone with villain blood. the setup for this whole shtick was weak. idk if i explained that well enough but you can ask me if you want a more detailed explanation i still have salt left lmao. 2. through carlos we know the others felt it happending, but what about ben? they don’t explain it to him even though he should have no memory of mal turning back time. 3. this book had all the time in the world to make this universe’s rules of time travel a little more clear (like why did nothing happen to both uma’s row boat and the speedboat? do objects not get set back in time too?) 4. one rule was explained tho: “it only turns back time to the top of the hour, and only if it’s been less than fifteen minutes” so mal might only have turned back time for like 1 minute, which would explain why the boats remain in the same spot, but it doesn’t change the fact that everything conveniently falls into place again because it just so happens to be *just* the right time for it to work (meaning no more than 15 minutes after a full hour) which in turn makes me wonder why this “top of the hour” rule was established in the first place. they could’ve just left that bit out and this whole thing wouldn’t be another case of dumb luck for the protagonists. i guess i’ll just go fuck myself.
- ok safe for that time travelling bs the last third is actually a lot okay-er than the rest. there was a cool scene where harry fell down a hole and was scared an panicking. this and the whole pirate-crew-escapes-from-a-trap-filled-cave was the best part of the book imo.
- after the great showdown between uma and mal (where they’re not actually face to face due to the barrier and thick fog, which is kind of a cool way to safe their encounter for the movie, i’ll give them that) mal stumbles backwards when she caught the trident and accidentally knocks evie overboard, which is completely unnecessarily dramatic, because the climax is already over, and is just there to show once again how gay mal and evie are for each other, without actually delivering. same old. (there’s also a scene where evie looks at mal “with a fond smile” while she’s sleeping like come on. those two scenes contain more feeling than any interaction between ben and mal ever. and at the end there is an exchange between the two that literally, like word for word, draws parallels to an interaction between ben an mal like are you kidding me)
- Evie says several times that Mal shouldn’t use magic, which is not too out of character i guess, i mean Evie has enough baggage concerning magic that this is believable.
she did use her mirror a lot, which is clearly magic, but somehow this is different from mal solving a problem with her spellbook?? hypocritical much. and it kinda retcons on the whole setup of her not being comfortable with magic.
in the end she gives her mirror to the museum, but it wasn’t her idea. it would’ve tied in with her previous statements a lot better if she herself had been like “i should give up my mirror so i have consistent characterization”
- Audrey dumps Chad for reasons unknown. not that i care all that much about that ship (i do think it’s interesting tho) but idk is this just so the movie doesn’t have to explain why they aren’t together anymore? (would be kinda lazy) felt like it was just there for cheap laughs.
- i’m surprised Jay didn’t get an Obligatory Love Interest™ but actually i’m not surprised because none of the writers care about jay.
- you might remember R.O.A.R. (the fencing/sword fighting-parcour-clusterfuck-sport). so chad was the captain of the team and has practised sword fighting all his life, but jay manages to beat him after a total amount of? 3? or so hours of training? and immediately becomes the new captain? bull
- also jay is supposedly really good at parcour, right? but he needed to practise wall jumps cuz his technique was bad or something for some reason. why tho. isn’t parcour his forte and why did carlos make the team before jay did. like not saying he can’t do roar but come on.
honestly tho, i kinda set myself up for this. i mean i already didn’t like the second book but for some reason i thought this one was going to be different.
the writing, characterization, worldbuilding etc. is just really lazy to me, and tbh i think it just exists to squeeze more money out of this franchise.
other people with different expectations and lower standards for writing might enjoy this tho idk

I always got the feeling Jason wants to push the show away from "love", I don't know why, love isn't a bad thing and is what keep them alive. I know it's a show about survival but after 4 seasons fighting to survive, I also want to see them fighting to have a life. I mean, yes they love each other, they sacrifice for each other but I also want to see hope, humanity... I want to see them living a little bit more. Do you think we could see this in s5, even if it's not on a large scale?
Look it’s really been my problem for s4. I don’t know if what I was writting between s3 and s4 is still available somewhere but I had HUGE hopes of seeing the characters being hopeful and wanting to be hopeful and living. All that because JRoth said stuff like “but there’s hope this season” (lol where? When they all die on ep10 or when they all die on ep12? *shrugs*) It’s annoying to me how focused on the plot this show is. The plot isn’t everything, and the only way I’m able to love some characters on this show is because of the actors. Tbh, so many times I’m like “?? bitch I only care about Bellamy and Clarke!” (yes not even the rest of the squad) because they are THE ONLY ONES having real depths. Like, okay, Raven is amazing too, she’s amazing because she has all these badass moments - but outside these badass moments and her use TO THE PLOT, she doesn’t exist to the show. As I said, when Bellamy says that he won’t be inside the Ark she’s like “wokay cool idgaf” (and people are expecting me to relate to their friendship?) I mean, her moments with Luna were soft and cute, but also… coming from nowhere? Kinda like her moments with Murphy,,, so they’re friends now?? Let’s talk about Murphy eh “he grew so much” bitch where? In the mittle moments where he comes back for Monty? Well maybe but that’s not enough! Bellamy was treated the exact same way as them on s3 and we know what happened - it’s clear they gave extra attention to Bellamy’s journey on s4. But hey, where are the others? Monty was there, just there, being badass for the plot, pointing guns even tho he sucked at it on s1 and that’s why it was Jasper’s job (also: *puts glasses on* so Monty, what about when you killed your mother?? Will that ever be adressed? O I guess not…). But his storyline? They had plenty of times to show us Monty trying to reach Jasper (not only on eps2 and 4) but they didn’t. In the end, sure, Monty is a bad friend because he didn’t even tried to understand his bff and he was like “FOCUS JASPER WE’RE GOING TO DIIIIIIE!!!!” and that’s it. Idk even Octavia, ugh, she’s annoying but she literally had a WHOLE relationship with Monty and Jasper on s2 and… where has it vanished? Did a black-hole swallowed all the characters’ relationships before s3?? And they haven’t come back yet? Why introduce new characters when they can’t even deal with the ones they have already? Wtf talk about useless, let’s bring Ilian, aka white devil’s minion *sigh*It was one of the major critics on s3, where are the characters going, why, why are they like this, why are they traumatized all the sudden, how, wtf? Sometimes you don’t even understand why this one takes the Chip and that one, doesn’t. I’m really tired when I think about s4 and how they lost SO MANY episodes with Grounders shit stories no one gives a fuck about (and that are always focused on war because even tho Roan says “we’re not savages” hey it’s not the plot that will prove it!), and that they are STILL unable to understand that their strenght is their actors/their characters. Science/plot SUCKED this season. “aww this bunker doesn’t work” hey one episode lost on that! “aw roan is pissed” TWO episodes lost on that, “grounders politics grounders politics” i mean?? Three episodes lost on that? Fucken ep10? Ugh ep11? Ep6? Good Bellarke episode but dammit, why couldn’t they have the fucken hydrazine he?? All that to create a drama to get Clarke into a Nightblood to create a fake “mystery” around her being the Commander on ep9 (also, surviving Praimfaya yes, but it could have happened under different circumstances)? Even if their intention wasn’t to let the Sky People be able to create Nightblood for everyone, why waste A WHOLE episode on the hydrazine? So many times, these little moments were used to build Bellarke (list on ep3, clarke stressing about bellamy on eps4/5, bellarke almost confession on ep6, bunker on ep11 and the whole drama ending on their separation on ep13). Of course JRoth is going to acknowledge they’re the center of the story - FINALLY - because they’re the only ones who have been decently treated this season. Damn Anon, I’d LOVE to see these characters catch a break and try to live. It’s what I live for even tho it NEVER happens. Three months time jump? Well suck it it was still war during that one. I guess once they’ll open the Bunker doors, everything will go to shit. *sigh* It’s really something I hate about this show; it’s the imbalance that exists and literally push the characters aside for the plot. Why?? Who fucking CARES about your plot, JRoth?? We literally had a whole season of nonsense-y plotlines that ended up in them going to space- all of which was “miraculously” solved in ONE episode, because Raven is super smart. Good for her, still unlogical and annoying! You can bet yo ass that the ones in space didn’t catch any break, neither did the ones in the bunker, and s5 will be “plotplotplotplot + unexplained characters’ developments + plotplotplot + conflict out of nowhere + plotplotplot” I have literally no hope regarding that on s5. It’s sad but at least I won’t be disappointed: as I said on a previous ask, watch Monty, Harper, Murphy, Emori, being the exact same people as they were on s4 even tho it’s supposedly been 6 years (in terms of characters’ traits). The mere fact that they feel they can make a SIX YEARS (SIX TIMES more than their actual plot until now) timejump and be able to reconnect their characters from that, shows how much they don’t fucken care about their characters. You know they can’t ask their viewers to come back and watch a show about totally different characters, so yes, they will be somehow, the sames, and that’s unlogical. Everyone I saw was pumped for the time jump because of the plot, and some other people having too much expectations regarding the characters. I used to have some as well for previous seasons, and I’ve always been disappointed. We just have to accept that The 100 isn’t a show driven by its characters… *sigh* At least Bellarke is the only relationship/the only characters they really DO put work into.

Do you know of any good Voltron fics with hurt Keith?? I can never find any, and if I do they're super shippy. Ships are fine, but I really enjoy some good gen. Thanks!
I definitely have some of these, though not nearly as much as I have hurt!Lance. I’ll see what I can do.
Between by SilverkleptofoxWords: 2,086 Author’s Summary: Between the biggest revelation of his life and his whole world changing, there is no time for Keith to rest and recover. His teammates make sure he does anyway. Tag to Season 2 Episode 8.My Comments: Almost unnecessarily detailed hurt/comfort based on canon injuries, haha. I love it.
Measuring Up by MoonlitWaterSunnyRiverWords: 1,092 Author’s Summary: Keith has insomnia, and finally decides to *do* something about it. Turns out he’s not the only one up at night. Keith & Lance friendship, written for Platonic VLD Week. My Comments: Aw, boys. Good talk.
Scattered by avidbeaderWords: 27,974 (WIP 11/?)Author’s Summary: Separated by Haggar’s parting shot, the Alteans and their new Paladins must regroup and find one another across the galaxies. Along the way, they will discover tragedy, treachery, and hope. Season 2 AU, no ships. My Comments: Really good action fic following the Season 1 finale. I got sucked into all of the paladins’ separate adventures really quickly, and it’s so satisfying to watch them slowly reunite. I’m really worried about Keith, though.
Aftermath by tristen84Words: 1,975 Author’s Summary: After his ordeal at the Blade of Marmora base, Keith turns out to be in worse shape than he thought. Hunk and Lance try to help. My Comments: I believe there was a call for more post-ep 8 Keith whump? Yes, it is here. I especially like that it’s Lance and Hunk who do the supporting in this one.
Insomnia by GriffinRoseWords: 15,278 Author’s Summary: They reunite after the Wormhole Incident all in one piece. Mostly. But some scars can’t be seen. Keith can’t sleep, no matter how hard he tries. Luckily he’s got the best team/family ever who are not about to let this go. No, seriously, they won’t let it go.My Comments: Absolutely wonderful, subtle hurt/comfort and teamy goodness. What was really wrong and how to fix it was obvious to me early on, but it was fun to watch the team slowly figure it out.
Casserole by genericfanaticWords: 1,922 Author’s Summary: After Shiro “dies” on the Kerberos mission, Keith is all alone. Some days are harder than others. My Comments: This author really excels at sharp, almost harsh depictions of pain and grief that are so realistic that you can feel it yourself. So good.
Wolves by Utsukushin (UserFromPluto)Words: 2,498 Author’s Summary: Keith’s hands shook, and for a second he allowed himself to give in to weakness, slumping forward so his upper body rested on Red’s dashboard. His eyes slipped closed, and immediately he was assaulted with a brutal wave - flashes of laser blasts and screams, the violent jolting of his lion in combat, tiny droplets of blood flying off his sword… “Keith?” (Keith has a hard time calming down after battles)My Comments: Stressed-out, hyper-vigilant Keith is really well-written and vivid, and the team’s concerted effort to surround him and make him feel safe again is lovely.
No Desert For You by MikiriWords: 5,373 Author’s Summary: They may have won, but what happens after? Keith worries of returning to Earth and the team comforts him as best they can.My Comments: SO sweet and comforting. Wonderful paladin pile, and I love how they just went around the room taking turns telling Keith that he’s been adopted and he’s not going back to the desert alone. Ever.
A Little Unsteady (Hold Onto Me) by DeerstalkerDeathFrisbeeWords: 13,385 Author’s Summary: Takashi Shirogane is nine years old when he holds his brother for the first time. “I’m here,” he’d whispered to his fussing baby brother, “I’m here, I’m here, I’m here.” And Keith stopped crying. He didn’t laugh; he looked up at Shiro with big, skeptical eyes. A challenge. Like this tiny person was saying ‘oh yeah, prove it’. And Shiro, newly nine years old, promised that he’d prove it. Shiro and Keith’s childhood in moments. My Comments: Modern setting AU, but with a few tweaks I could absolutely see this working in canon-verse. It’s incredibly touching and well-written, and Shiro’s development from reluctant child to fiercely protective big brother was beautiful to watch. Both boys went through a lot of heartache, but by the end they’re together, and you know they’re going to be okay.
Closure by wolfsan11Word Count: 7,837 Author’s Summary: Between finding Pidge’s family and healing up from the final battle against Zarkon, the Paladins only think of heading home, back to Earth. Keith has a hard time with that idea and the team helps. My Comments: This is just the sweetest. Everyone needs to hug Keith and reassure him that they’re family, no matter what.
A Gift Horse by To Be or Not to- Oh forget it (Mikki)Words: 17,801 Author’s Summary: The paladins of Voltron are the universe’s only hope, and they are ready to fight against the Galra. The only problem is, they’re one short. After stumbling their way through freeing a planet however, they might just find the solution to their problem in the form of a ‘gift of gratitude’. No one is happy about it.My Comments: Tagged as slight Klance, but reads gen. Warning for abuse, including implied sexual abuse, and slavery. So yeah. Team Voltron is “given” a Keith who has been raised as a Galra and enslaved for years. And then they proceed to absolutely bungle their handling of him. But I really liked Lance doing his best to get to know Keith as a person rather than a problem to be solved, and I find the concept really interesting. This is one of those fics where I want to write the sequel, because a LOT of work is going to need to be done to get these characters anywhere near healed after something like this.
Trial by Ordeal by To Be or Not to- Oh forget it (Mikki)Words: 89,187 Author’s Summary: They’re supposed to be two sides of the same coin, or something like that. The truth is a bit more complicated. (Character study of Keith and Lance)My Comments: This is long, but absolutely worth the effort. Warning for depictions of abuse in both parts, but it’s treated realistically and respectfully. There were parts in Keith’s chapter that I had to stop reading for a while and do something else, and pretty much everything in Lance’s chapter made me ache for him and the family he left behind. But it’s really, really good. Amazingly well-written and deep and lifelike, and it all makes so much sense, for both of these characters. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long, long time.
Burning Bright by RaccoonDoomWords: 2,221 Summary: For an anon request on my tumblr: “Can you do a klance fic where Keith is sick and Lance is surprisingly good at taking care of him despite his mood swings and bouts of delirium?” Not exactly what they requested but eh close enough. The first time sickness hit the team, it hit Keith. Hard. At least it’s easier to be sick when you have a team than when you’re alone in the desert. My Comments: Keith doesn’t know when to ask for help, but fortunately he doesn’t have to. Lance acts exasperated, but I think he secretly likes being needed, and he’ll step in wherever he can.
Keith Alone by cheshirereeWords: 5,328 Summary: Keith grows up alone, then he gains a family. It somehow becomes a cycle. Vent fic. My Comments: Very sad at the beginning, but well-written backstory and character study. This history for Shiro and Keith makes a lot of sense, and I loved the way Keith gradually came to accept the other paladins, too, and learn to interact with them. They have more in common than they believe at first.
An Echo of Thunder by WashiPuppyWords: 6,934 Author’s Summary: Good thing Lance has a plan. Okay, the second part of the plan had a few holes. It was a work-in-progress. Keith didn’t need to know that though. My Comments: HOLY EVERYTHING BATMAN I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH. I can’t even…I don’t want to spoil it! Just, okay, Lance and Keith are in trouble, right, and they both want to protect each other, isn’t that adorable, but THE LIONS. RED AND ALSO BLUE. Read it read it read it. If you read nothing else on the list this week, read this one. It made me SO happy. Fave. Fave of all time.
Call of Duty by APendingThought for MilkTeaMikuWords: 4,184 Author’s Summary: Lance thought he could handle most things when it came to Keith. He was not prepared for an infant Keith with an ear infection, however. My Comments: I may be aro/ace, and I definitely am, but there is still a very id part of me that is EXTREMELY pleased with the image of an attractive man taking care of a baby, and this story fed that part of me in the most wonderful way. Sweet and satisfying.
Conditional Acceptance by yet_intrepidWords: 6,914 Author’s Summary: Shiro’s looking for a job. Keith, new to the Garrison, needs a tutor to be allowed to stay. He also needs a lot of other things - a decent meal plan, for one, but more importantly, a friend. My Comments: Oh, gosh, this fic broke my heart, but it’s SO good. I would happily accept this as canon. I mean, I kind of have already. Poor Keith is so scared and sad and needy, and Shiro is nervous and out of his depth but so badly wants to help. And Matt as Shiro’s roommate is amazing. I just adore this one to pieces.
What If The Storm Ends? by earthstarWords: 17,913 Author’s Summary: After the fight with Zarkon, Keith finds himself stranded alone on a strange forest planet. All hope seems lost when he gets bitten by venomous creature, but he finds aid from someone he’s not sure he can trust. My Comments: I usually avoid Galra!Keith stuff, idk why, guess I want to see what canon does first. But I am a HUGE sucker for a wise and protective adult trying to take care of a scared and needy kid, and that’s what this is. The plot is great, as well as the character interactions and development, and I would happily accept this in canon.
Standing on the Edge by LenoirWhittlethornWords: 2,901 (WIP)Author’s Summary: Keith doesn’t know how to ask for hugs. My Comments: Golly, I am just ACHING for more of this. It’s so cute and sweet and touching. Keith needs all the hugs, omg. He doesn’t know how to ask, but fortunately the others know how to give.
assistance by asexualreyWords: 1,096 Author’s Summary: Keith managed to break his leg and Lance almost feels sorry for him. My Comments: This one is short and sweet, a little funny, a little sad, but very in character. I would like for these silly boys to be friends eventually, please.
Prison Bonds by GriffinRoseWords: 18,295 Author’s Summary: Keith and Lance are captured and stuck in a cell together, but it’s not the Galra. They almost wish it was. These Cordalians feed off of emotions, and their favorite emotion is sadness. Worse, they’ve found a way to make their victims relive their worst memories to make that pain fresh again, and Keith has a lot of terrible memories he’d rather not relive. My Comments: SO GOOD. SO MUCH PLATONIC CUDDLING. Lance and Keith are both suffering horribly, and all they can do is comfort each other and wait for rescue. I’m so happy that it’s gen, too. And it’s finished! Run, don’t walk. It’s so great.
Impractical Immune Responses by hufflepirateWords: 4,829 Author’s Summary: Keith discovers that he’s horribly allergic to something on the new planet they’ve landed on, and Coran discovers that his cryopods are completely unable to do anything about seasonal allergies. Luckily, the rest of the team has some ideas about what to do. Keith may not be good at acknowledging his weaknesses, asking for help, or letting other people take care of him, but he’s about to get a LOT of practice - enough to start surprising himself. My Comments: I really like how EVERYONE has an important role in this, all doing their best to take care of Keith and help him feel better. And Keith’s development is really lovely, as he starts off scared and distant then slowly warms up to the idea of leaning on his teammates for help. It’s a very sweet fic with a bit of depth, just how I like my h/c.
You stole a BABY?! by genericfanaticWords: 24,324 Author’s Summary:  The castle ship has a new stowaway, and Keith and Lance must figure out how to take care of them without alerting the rest of the crew. My Comments: Warning for child abuse, though it’s in the past. But yeah, this is a great angsty, h/c fic with endgame Klance but more importantly, Keith and Lance taking care of an adorable alien child. It’s well thought-out and plotted, and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Loved Lance being smart and analytical with his research and Keith showing his fighting chops in an unfamiliar situation, too.

Late NDRV3 Chapter 6 + Epilogue impressions
HOLY SHIT ITS SPY BOY ITS SPY BOY ITS SPY BOY???? DANGAN RONPA 0 IN MY V3/???????????????????.... No It couldn’t be. He’s long dead. Yuto Kamishiro can’t be this “Makoto”.  Is Normal-chan our Spoiler-chan? Hmm. I just have a gut feeling he’s a Despair idk why And if he’s so normal, how was he on Kibougamine? Was it the first or the new school??????? HMMM????????
KIBO NO Don’t........ I don’t want him to die noooo >:C DONT TOUCHY THE ROBOT ....... He might be disconnected from Naegey but he’s still our pinnochio. Kibo wtf plz
Ouma the ultimate fanboy of Movie Vilains. I stg (dem funny glasses omg...... Afro wigs, batcar? He’s a total fanboy) What the fuck is up with the DICE thing?
Oh I knew the Remembering Light was delayed. But what was the point? Hinder them investigating the Mystery of the school? That’s fuckign cheap. Is that the same Makoto from the initial flashback? I’m gonna bet my ass it is.
Is he calling “them” heroes because the Future Foundation members survived a Killing Game, if Tenjou’s game could even be called that? Hmm Did FF fall or not?
OMFG OUMA GRABBED AMAMI’S DOLL........ That’s gay
That horse mask wtf  He was a closeted clown all along wow...... Is he a Joker fan? Crimes with laughter and no killing? Color me confused. I guess the Panta should’ve been a massive giveaway. Did he fall into despair after his crew was taken prisioner? I....
Now he’s gonna pull us by the nose again? Wow. OK
“Ro is Twins”? rantaRO? ShiROgane? Is this pointing to the Mastermind again? Like when he said the first one to die is related to the mastermind? Is that why we werent allowed into Amami’s room?
OH MY GOD THAT throwback. The nostalgia bricked me in the face. FUCK.... So it definitely wasn’t Kibougamine that erased their talents. Then, who was it? Was it the “Remnants of Despair” aka the SDR2 crew? Who enabled them to erase their talent and hide from the SHSL Hunt?
CHARGE THE KIBO POWER
Omg Ro is twins...... The Gemini dial! Uma is HORSE????? Horse head?????? How far into this did Ouma know? This started being written in chapter 2 no?
Oh so the weird background was Amami’s room... And he was talking to his future, memoryless self? That’s nuts;; Uhm.......  I cannot hold all these wtfs. Did he survive a killing game....... Done with these same students? Done with other students? Because if I was right about them actually being revived and Mastermind redoing it over and over, then he could have survived one of the “previous” “same” Killing Game. But maybe I’m getting ahead of myself @_@ Trying to piece all this shit together is always nuts without the final reveal. But if that were the case, wouldn’t he have had another talent, the talent that got him into the SHSL category in the first place?
NO....... How dare you show me everyone being friends? How dare you shove that in my face
Not this twin bullshit again. If you tell me her twin is Monaka i’m gonna murder myself
Catch ALL THE BUGS. It’s kinda cute that Ouma planned something like that, even if he was the cause for Gonta’s death....... I’m guessing there’s some nanomachine that they mistook for bugs
MONOKUMA PLANNED PARENTHOOD omfg. That tacky as fuck room. Of course it has to be a Junko fan. And HO look at the bullshit murder again. Is it just gonna be “Amami was very conveniently killed by the mastermind instead of by Bakamatsu’s trap and she was executed wrongly everyone cries” thing? It’s funny Amami had the cheat map version, kinda like if you start Castlevania with the hidden places.
ANOTHER hidden passage in the bathroom...... I’m not even surprised.
I KNEW IT. There WERE lies in the Remembering Light. The question is how to tell between them. Saihara why u not look through all the directories god dingit U friggin detective bitch
Kibo is so cool :C He’s just so damn Megaman cool. Fuse Megaman and Raiden and you have Kiboo
Ok so..... maybe instead of clones, there’s... the one that has some sort of Time travel would be? The mastermind? Kaede’s twin? Time for some 999 SteinsGate bullshit. But then why would they say they can bring back the dead? How would that even work?
Oh no .... I was just thinking Shirogane had very little spotlight moments and even less character development. Now everything points to the Mastermind being a student
:CCC WELL..... It’d make her switching clothes with Akamatsu even more ironic. Also again it’d be a twin with blonde hair and a twin with blue hair. What IS IT with this combination???
SMH..... The passage in the bathroom completely fucks over Shirogane. Because she’s the only one that was in the girl’s bathroom for a long time. I shouldve known better than to let myself like her......... Nooooooooooo
53 generation bullshit? What the dicks is this? Hmm. V3. 53 huh. They screwed us over a lot
Yeah so if the memories were indeed false now we proceed to question everything. Is this false too, is this false too? For all we know the world could still be fucked but not from asteroids. But what would be the point if they weren’t even from Kibougamine? That would just be lame.
Are they in a simulation again?????? Suddenly Hinata?????? What
Now that’s just shitposting. They’re gonna pull the “it’s fiction” card.
Well. This is extreme shitposting. Are they calling the fanbase sick sadistic fucks? “u guys watching these poor people kill each other” or something?
I cannot hold this level of meta. All these wall breaks
I CANT BREATHE, LOOK AT THE TITLE SHITPOSTING???? It’s exactly like series that go on too long
So is solving that one case what landed Saihara in this? Or are their talents actually fabricated as well? <_> Are the people dead or alive?????? TEll me gonta is alive plz Nope they’re dead. They’re all dead for the sake of Tsumugi’s OCs........... GHHGJHDSGJH
Yep we were played hardcore. All the first appearances were the real appearances.
I really REALLY missed the DR1/2 voices DAMN. Fujisaki :C Ishimaru..... Even Celeste FUCK. Was Sayaka’s voice always this amazing? I love how harsh Peko’s voice is,,,,,, I love the DR2 crew so much....... cries on hands
So many out of character sayings. I’m sure the characters would loathe seeing themselves say some of those things lmao god
I think they got a real point. How you can suffer and be in pain with a “lie”, a fiction, but also how you can feel joy and hope out of the same lie/fiction.The dillema of fiction, of experimenting with taboo topics, in this example the killing, and questioning how much it plays a part into the reality side.
But in this case, it’s going to another level. Like questioning human existence in SOMA. If you take a real human mind and place it in a robotic body, can it still be called a human existence? Can humans scanned and preserved in a “fiction” still be called human?
The ideas are very fucking smart. Kodaka trolled us hard while also questioning the entire fanbase and his series base. And dang, all those inside jokes. They really took a good long look at the fandom and how we think; But it’s still hilarious it’s all orchestrated by a greedy company, ran by a delirious cosplayer fangirl and feeding the masses that want both the negative and the positive points of the plot/characters
Kaito was in it for mundane reasons and ended up with the meaningful “protag” role huh. I wonder what bullshit Korekiyo said to earn himself such a shitty background story. I like his character. Just..... I wish his reasons were not bad writing. Tsumugi u done fucked up
Robot Bondage? I strangely approve of that
Shirogane waving goodbye with mascot,. throwback to Chiaki....... CRIES
:C Well I was right in not expecting Kibo to live. But still he’s the best survey processor ever. My favorite quiz boy. I will pretend you’re alive and well flying up the clouds cuz FUCK IT
In a sense, it’s like they’re blowing up a literal hole into ending the series and opening a path to direct the fans back to reality, or per say, the outside. “Go out there, do the thing, hope out there.”
In a world where your identity and truths and lies are uncertain, you have to pave a way for yourself taking the best out of it all? I’m sure someone will reason this game ending and the analogies way more eloquently, but anyway.
I really enjoyed the story. The extra effort they put on CGs really enrichened everything. I’m not sure how I feel about the big big big plot twist yet. I guess it’s something to slowly digest over time. Can’t say this is my favorite.
Was the time travel thing a misunderstanding by the fans or a prank by Kodaka? I kept expecting it and it was nowhere
I’d say in most to least fav, I’m still with SDR2, DR0, DR1, and last? DRAE. I still don’t know how to feel about Another Episode or the animes TBH
So this was me going through this rollercoaster. If you read this so far, then I hope you laughed at my stupid at least once. I’m gonna go and reblog a fuckton of fanart now. Bye
