A while back I commissioned some art from @cadhla182 and it came out very well! The idea was that Nico and Laura had infiltrated an underground fighting ring before teaming up to take it down. A comment on the post of this on twitter about how mismatched the fight would be got me thinking... and thinking... And I overthought it.
I ended up working out an entire powers-free MMA AU for the women of the Marvel Universe, complete with taking into account first appearances 'prime fighting' ages, and the like. I've got SPREADSHEETS for this thing. So, it turned out Nico and Laura are in different weight divisions. Nico's a Strawweight. Laura Kinney ended up in Flyweight. So, I got to thinking -- who should Nico and Laura be matched against? I managed to work out a list of top contenders in the various weight classes. Some would utterly trounce Nico even in an MMA AU, but others might be better matches. I can't decide myself, who do you think would be a good match for her? Yes, I plan on commissioning this once the poll is over!
There are others in the division, but what I'm looking for is someone on her level, not someone who would overwhelm her. Specifically, Kate Pryde, Jeanet Foucault, Nadia Van Dyne, and Daisy Johnson round out the "Top 16" in that division. "But what about--" Probably not in that division, or you're thinking of a very obscure character, "What about Janet Van Dyne?!" Retired Champion, currently mentoring Nadia, but might be coaxed out of retirement for one more match... If I can ever really round down a Top 8 from this list! (What about Laura and her opponent? Well, that I've narrowed down to 4: Kate Bishop, Illyana Rasputina, Mantis, and Squirrel Girl -- but that's hopefully going to be easier to figure out...)

Parenting.
Summary:
Moroha moved out around a year ago, Ichiki about a month. Kagome experiencing the pain of the empty nest so Inuyasha makes it his mission to track down his kids and get full reports for his wife.
You can also read it Here Ao3. Fanfic.
Oh and don’t forget to check out the amazing fanart by @nectarine500! Here.
Inuyasha was desperately trying to breathe. Opening his eyes and putting on his stone face he turned to look at his eldest who was finding the ground very interesting.
“Moroha," Inuyasha's voice was stern and slightly threatening, doing his damn best not to yell. "Please tell me you’re not in debt."
“Uh-“
The growl that rumbled from his throat was low as he watched his daughter pray to the gods for something to say. Don’t. Yell.
“Okay. Tell me you're not in debt so I don’t have to go back home and tell your mother you’re in debt.”
“I'm not in debt?”
Moroha put on her best smile and looked up at Inuyasha with wide innocent golden eyes, ah the cute tactic. Basic.
“Oh cut the crap Moroha! Your mother uses that look so much that I’m immune!”
Okay now Inuyasha was yelling-
“The hell Moroha? Your brother is the one who finds trouble so when your mother sent me to go check up on you fools I thought you were going to be the easy one!”
This wasn’t what he was expecting, Moroha had been traveling along with Hisui and his twin sister slaying demons for at least a year now, they would visit home sometimes or write a letter so the parents believed everything was okay. It’s been a good month since Ichiki, his youngest, set off on his own, now sixteen and Kagome missed her babies. So with enough tears and love she convinced Inuyasha to go find and check up on them. Moroha was supposed to be his easy case, she was skilled in fighting and had as Kagome would say “street smarts” or whatever the hell that meant. Ichiki on the other hand fought from a distance and was stronger in the brains department and in a world full of demons that would love to make a meal out of a quarter demon, Inuyasha worried he’d be the one having trouble on his own.
BUT NOOOOO, HE FOUND HIS DAUGHTER FIRST WHO WAS DROWNING IN DEBT.
His head was spinning, one of two things could be going on right now. One, Moroha is his only kid in trouble so there’s only one problem, or both his kids are in trouble and he has to report both of them to Kagome. Oh god Kagome-
.
“Hey pop? Are you good? You're as red as the fire rat?”
In his state of rage the father of two didn’t notice his daughter poking him with concern on her face.
Inuyasha looked down at her and stared, no doubt he looked mad. He was pissed, but Moroha was still his baby girl. He patted her head and began to walk away.
Moroha took a second and watched him go before catching up, Inuyasha was basically speed walking which was causing the quarter demon to jog.
“Hey! Uh-old man! Where are you going?”
“We. My sweet daughter, are going to pay off half your debt.” Inuyasha looked back at her, Inuyasha was damn strong and he was going to give his girl a hand to get out of the hole she dug herself.
Moroha will still have to pay the other half without him, something he’s sure Hisui and the twins will help with. But for right now he’ll spend the day slaying demons with his favorite girl. Inuyasha was still mad of course but it’s been so long since he had a day with her.
Inuyasha had been following the red hooded figure below him for a good while now. Ichiki not having demonic abilities meant he couldn’t smell his fathers scent, but he was very skilled in his spirit powers so why on earth hasn’t he noticed Inuyasha?
Jumping through the trees to get a better look at the youth, the first thing Inuyasha noticed was that he hadn’t grown an inch. Ichiki was around Kagome height, maybe an inch taller. Inuyasha wasn’t exactly the tallest guy around and Kagome had to be the shortest woman in Japan so perhaps his son was just cursed to remain tiny forever. The second thing he noticed was that his face was all scratched up, huh, maybe he did find some trouble. Just like his mother.
Suddenly the quarter demon stopped on the forest path he was walking to take a seat on a tree stump. Puzzled Inuyasha began to look around, was he waiting for something? Did he sense something? Inuyasha couldn’t see anything. Looking back down at his son he was slightly startled to see a pair of blue eyes looking up at him.
Ichiki’s face slowly drew up into a smile, of course. He knew his father was following him; he just wasn’t going to notice him. If he did Inuyasha would win, it would be the same if Inuyasha made the first move to talk.
“Are you just going to stare? You come down and eat lunch with me, you know.” His son called up to him, grabbing two radishes from his bag he carried on his right side.
Inuyasha smiled down at him. “Keh!”
With a big jump and a graceful landing Inuyasha was next to his son in seconds. The radish was plump and freshly picked, he must have gotten it from the nearby village.
“You know Ichi, you could have said “hi” or made some form of communication for the past hour “ Inuyasha said with one hand on his hip and the other reaching out for the vegetable. His son chucked and handed over the radish.
“Where’s the fun in that?” Ichiki teased looking up at his father. Rolling his eyes Inuyasha motioned his hand to the right for his son to scoot. The tree stump was big enough for them both to be seated back to back.
“Wanna explain the scratches on your face?”
Getting settled, Inuyasha leaned back against his son.
“Cat.”
Was the one worded answer he heard from behind him. Confused, he asked, “A cat demon?” Inuyasha could feel his son's body jostle a bit with a chuckle.
“Nope just a cat, he was in the house I exorcised.” Ichiki said with a smile in his voice.
Inuyasha couldn’t help the laugh that escaped him!“Of course you’d be the one to get his ass kicked by a cat-“
“Shut up and eat your food dad.”
They ate silently, enjoying each other's presence. Inuyasha had missed this, the comfortable silence. While Moroha was loud and outgoing, Ichiki was quiet and kept to himself.
As time passed small conversations were made.
“How’s mom?”
“Good. She misses you guys, told me to come check up on you two.”
“I miss her too.”
“I’ll make sure to tell her.”
“Didn’t expect you to be on the outskirts of Japan”
“There’s some good exorcism jobs around here.”
“Hm.”
“How did you find me?”
“Moroha. I found her first. She said she checked up on you a few weeks ago.”
“Yeah, she’s worried I’ll trip on air off a cliff or something.”
“I missed you bud.”
“I missed you too dad.”
Kagome had maybe two gray hairs, with some wrinkles that somehow managed to compliment her soft face. She was beautiful as ever and Inuyasha, who had been gone for around a week, was glad to make it back home to her with full reports about their children and letters they sent back with him for her.
They’re all grown up, and yet it was hard for Inuyasha to say goodbye. He thought parenting was supposed to be easy after the kids actually left the house.
Fin.
Thank you for reading! Happy Inukag Week!

The Wulf's Eye: RP Journal #55 | Yokai Beach Party
Tumblr media
I'm going to spare the morning's usual for the sake of.. how /much/ happened in the evening.
The Vault wished to throw a beach potluck because, well, we just aided the world in something horrific and hadn't gotten a break. That being said, I thought to take Li out for lunch. He had been working so hard on cooking up a feast to add to the hungry yokai that quite literally is the Vault.. Plus, he was looking so damn cute in his dress. These dresses lately.. I could go on about them for many pages. We went to a nice place called Chaacha's Oven in Thavnair, near Yedlihmad. The experience.. the atmosphere.. it was overall so very pleasant, and probably my new favorite place to eat in Thavnair. The owner known as Kazem was very friendly and open about speaking of his business. I ordered a yogurt-like drink called Ladan.. Aryan. And Li ordered Tamari Hindi, I think? Then Li surprised we with a delicious sweet drink that was on the menu that we both had I made sure not to eat too much, so that I had plenty of room to gorge on everyone's cooking. Later on, Sejad came and he brought up speaking to Ichiki-sama about.. Kami things. Seems the Kami are displeased at the way he shifted into an auspice, and so he must undergo tests. It made me think of the offer Ichiki-sama showed me to ascend to an official auspice amongst the Kami. If I could have more of a say, would it have any impact on the lives of my people? My friends? Alas..
Sejad mentioned support and, well.. it seems myself and Li shall be there to observe Sejad in his test of the Kami. As one who had to wrangle fate by my own hands and the hands of my people as a Servant.. I will see it through. Though, afterwards we took a relaxing walk through the city a little before it was time to make our way in joining everyone at the beach party.
When Li and I arrived at the beach party, surely everyone was there and the food was set up ahead of time. Yume, Eiri, Akai, Aioux, Kayah, Izzy, Sejad, Zihji, Yugana, later on, Vish whom I've discovered is Kayah's second partner, and Uzu joined in. Of course, I brought a hefty supply of various sake from my brewery prepared solely for the beach party. You can't have a yokai party without sake, duh? Izzy and Kayah seemed to be working on the boar roast that Yume hunted. Mm Kami, did that smell good. First thing's first, though.. the food! The food was amazing.. Li made these meat-wrapped rice balls with some cheese in the center of I think that must've been my favorite.
That was when.. Kayah was gutting the boar and Yume didn't want the organs to go to waste. For some reason Yugana needed the best parts, which I now think was because she was pregnant as Yume and Aioux insisted. That was also when I washed down more sake. Though, it had been a while since I had anything like liver raw. That was when I called out for something, anything.. I try not to let catches go to waste. Then fucking Yume threw a whole LUNG at me and it pummeled me in the face to which I fell over. This thing was HUGE, and it disgusted and scared Li off. Noted, not to devour raw organs in front of that sweet boy. Seems he doesn't fancy it. But then I realized that upon being smacked in the face with a boar lung, I had fallen into the fire that Akai had going. My clothes caught fire, but I decided to eat the lung until Li made me realize I was capable of burning down the pavilion. So I dropped and flung myself off the pavilion to put out the fire before consuming it off my yukata and finished off the lung. At least he managed to smooch me when I washed up!
IT WAS BRAWLING TIME! We've been hyping it up all week over the pearl, so it was about time! Yume had been repeatedly asking all damn evening, so I challenged her on a 2 versus 1 match. Me and Li against her. Plus, I get to watch my lover up close and fight alongside him! Later on, Zhiji joined on Yume's team. The rules were three strikes and you're out. And so the match went on. And ah.. such coordination between Li and I. Yume managed to score me on the back, and Sejad's barriers caught her when I wanted to send her flying into the ocean. We managed to get her out as a team, though that was when Zihji who suffered no strikes thus far, got my lover out. So it was my destiny to avenge my lover! Except.. it drew out in a rather close match, and on our last legs did I get bested before his eyes. Too bad.. At least it was close.
But what made up for it was watching Li pummel Sejad in a match. OH KAMI.. How he moved with such fluidity, his tactic.. his powders. This was Sejad and Li's second match, too. Sadly, I didn't get to witness the first one. But from what Li told me, it was just as grand. He's capable of taking down opponents larger than him whilst honing his own style.. it excited me. We're not at the part of my teachings to go all out against each other quite yet, but dare I say I'm so very eager to fast track to that point? I would be a foolish teacher, however. But for our next lessons in store, I can only see him going above and beyond. Even better.
The night ended in us indulging in boar and chatter.. Li sprouting my flower on my head whilst Akai fucked with me, smoking, more drinks. A small discussion about Shikigami with Zihji and Kayah. Speaking of which.. need to plan that double date.
I ended up carrying Li home to snuggle. It was a much needed break. I hope everyone had lots of fun.

The Robe of The Fire Rat.
“Moroha honey please come inside, it's cold.”
Kagome's thirteen year old daughter was as stubborn as her father. (Maybe a little like herself)
Moroha pouted and shook her head in a no.
“He’s not back yet mama. He said he would be back before sundown.”
With a huff Kagome walked outside of their hut and sat on the small porch with her girl. “I used to worry about him too, I still do, but your father is one of the strongest people I know. I’m sure he’s fine” she told Moroha while running her hand through her daughter’s short hair.
Moroha looked up at her mother and made her frown even bigger. “Why didn’t he take me with him? We’ve been going on trips together but this time he told me no! I don’t get it.” The little girl looked out to the sky of the setting Sun.
“Is he mad?” She said in such a small voice it broke Kagome's heart.
Quickly wrapping her arms around her little girl she immediately forced that idea out of Moroha’s head. “Not a Chance, your father has a short temper but he could never be so upset with you he up and leaves.”
Kagome gave her daughter a kiss on the head.
“He loves you so much, hon, and your brother. Whatever’s keeping him I’m sure he’ll have a good excuse.”
Moroha gave her mother a sweet toothy smile.
Kagome began to slowly get up with her daughter's hand on her own.
“You wanna go inside? Your brother is done with his studies so you can go and bug him.”
She knew Moroha would never pass up the idea of bugging her brother.
She popped up and immediately went inside.
Kagome hesitated though. Before going through the sliding door she looked at the sky.
‘Inuyasha you left so suddenly, now you're late and left me with two worried children.’
“If you don’t come back in one piece I’ll sit your ass so hard you’ll wish whatever got to you first finished you off.” She muttered.
Maybe Moroha did get her temper from her.
She couldn’t help but giggle at herself.
—————————————————
“AA-CHOO!”
Rubbing his robe against his nose the Half demon couldn’t help but think somebody was talking about him.
Probably his damn little wife, or the monk.
Gods, he was a dead man. Looking up at the sky he begins to see stars start to peak through the purple sky.
Inuyasha picked up the pace into a sprint.
He told his family he would be back by now, the girls would give him hell and his little boy would give him the silent treatment.
Unless..
Adjusting the luggage on his back. His gifts might save his ass.
The idea came to him while training with his daughter.
He had accidentally nicked her arm the other day but he was left without a scratch, he wasn’t saying Moroha was bad at fighting. She was pretty damn good for her age and considering how little experience she had.
Even though it was just training Inuyasha couldn’t help but worry about his baby girl getting hurt on an extermination job. Inuyasha was only taking her to small jobs but something as small as a weasel demon could always get a lucky hit. He would die before he lets that happen.
Then there was his son, his little Ichiki. Ichiki has shown little to no interest in fighting and preferred to have his mother teach him about herbs and being a healer.
It wouldn’t shock Inuyasha if he developed spiritual powers here sooner or later.
Inuyasha didn't mind that of course but there was one problem. His son's hair was bright white, like his own.
He would have preferred Ichiki to have hair like his mother and sister, beautiful coal black.
Inuyasha remembered what it was like growing up with white hair, how people used to look at him, what they said about him.
It wasn’t as bad as his ears though.
He couldn’t help but be glad neither of his children had his ears, he couldn’t handle it if one of them came home with their dog ears bleeding because someone yelled in it or tried to cut it off.
Hopefully, the items in the bag he carries on his back will be able to keep them safe if he’s not always there on time.
When Inuyasha finally made it back to his little hut in the woods, it was pretty dark.
And on his porch was a small priestess with her arms crossed.
Aw fuck.
Slowing his pace he stopped in front of his wife, his ears back in silent submission.
“..uh hi, look Kago-“
She was in his arms immediately, checking his face for scratches with her soft hands. He couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face.
“I’m okay ‘Gome” he muttered to her.
“You better be! Running late, leaving me with two worrying children.” She whispered to him harshly.
“I know, I know, I’m a dumbass and didn’t know how late this was going to take me.”
Kagome sighed deeply and kept her hands on his face, her thumb slowly caressing his cheek. Inuyasha turned his head into her palm and kissed it gently.
“Are they awake?” He whispered to her.
She smiled gently at him.
“Barely, told them they could stay up for you.”
“How kind of you, my little wife.” He said as she led him inside.
Inside the hut Inuyasha saw his two children around the fire pit. Ichiki was in between Morohas legs huddling for warmth together like two birds in a storm. They both looked up with shinning eyes, and their mouths slowly turned up in a smile.
Inuyashas couldn’t hold back the toothy grin.
“Dry your tears guys, your old man is back to bug ya!”
Both of them shot up in a hurry and grabbed onto his middle before he could say anything else.
Kagome's laughter echoed through the hut at the sight of Inuyasha struggling to stand.
“Where were you?!”
“We missed you!”
“What’s in the bag?”
“Mom was beginning to get upset!”
“It smells weird!”
“She said she was going to sit you!”
“Geez you two one at a time!” Inuyasha laughed slowly, going on his knees to level with his kids.
Moroha seems to be stunting in growth, he’s going to guess her mothers fault. And Ichiki, even at eight, was still pretty damn short.
Stupid Kagome being so small and adorable, she ruined their kids!
“I was visiting grandpa Tōtōsai, he helped me get you two something.” He put his hands on his children's heads, ruffling their hair in the process.”
Ichiki looked puzzled. “Grandpa Tōtōsai?”
Moroha looked excited. “What did you get us??”
“Here” Inuyasha said gently, he pulled off the bag on his back and reached in. He grabbed Morohas first. “For you my little Beniyasha” he said as he handed the red cloth to his daughter.
She gasped. “A robe of the fire rat!”
He felt Kagome's hand on his back, and the awe in her voice. “Inuyasha how did you manage to-?”
“Tōtōsai helped, it’s not exactly the same as mine but it’s got the same material. Hunted the rats myself.” Inuyasha said proudly.
“It’s as good as armor, repairs itself and flame proof like mine, it will keep them safe.” Inuyasha said as he got the second robe out.
He handed it out to his little boy “Here you go Ichi.”
His son hesitated before grabbing the robe.
“But I don’t fight.” Ichiki said so quietly even Inuyasha could miss it.
He put his hands on his shoulders “Fighting doesn't matter son, I got it for you because you're my kid, and I protect my kids.”
“Besides-“ Inuyasha smiled. “Tōtōsai added something special for you, go on try then on you two.”
Both Ichiki and Moroha looked at each other with a smile and immediately went to put on their gifts. Not even to bother taking off their current clothes.
Inuyasha and Kagome couldn’t help but laugh when their children were done.
Morohas robe went past her knees and Ichiki was practically drowning in cloth as it piled around his feet. He gave his father a small frown.
“Haha don’t worry you two, they’ll fit eventually.” Inuyasha said as Kagome gushed.
“Oh Moroha! The red makes you look so pretty! And Ichi you look just like your father!” She was on her knees adjusting the robes on their children.
She stopped when she got to Ichi’s though.
“A hood?” Kagome lifted up the flap on the back of his son's robe and put it over his head.
“Yeah, it was my idea.” Inuyasha said watching the red cloth cover his son's white hair. His smile turned slightly sad. It was a last minute decision but maybe it was for the better.
Out of excitement from their gifts both of the kids ran outside to play. Moroha pretended to be a big bad demon while Ichiki charged at her with a wooden branch. He may not fight but Moroha will always let them win the imaginary fights because she’s just a good sister. They ran around in the grass only having the light that shined passed the opening of the hut.
Inuyasha watched from the door frame, his arms wrapped around his little wife.
“A hood Inuyasha?” She whispered watching the kids play.
“It will keep him safe.” He said, shushing her by squeezing her closer.
What kind of parent would he be if he couldn’t protect them.
The end.

Teenagers
Finished writing! Enjoy!
——
Back during the Jewel shard hunt, Miroku was always causing mischief. It didn't surprise Inuyasha one bit when his kids did the same. But his own?!
Moroha, and Ichiki are good kids! Sure Moroha got his attitude and sometimes Ichiki talked as much as his brother,
Seriously it wouldn't kill the kid to start a conversation, but they were still good kids. His kids. The ones he thought he would never have, the ones he loved so much it made him want to burst, the ones he wanted to strangle.
Years ago when Moroha was younger she used to tell him everything, now? Nothing nada. Lately everything Inuyasha asked about his daughter's life was never given a straight answer, she would brush him off or change the topic. She wanted to be her own person , or something like that. Being her own person means doing everything by herself, her way. She wanted to do demon extermination on her own. Make, clean, and fix her own weapons. Wearing what she wants, the fire rat robe he had given her as a gift all those years ago has been modified by herself, refusing help from her mother.
Oh and Kagome doesn't mind this at all. Kagome says this is normal for a teenage girl and she should know because she was one. Moroha is growing up and they should let her be who she wants so she can find herself or some sappy shit like that, and you know what? Inuyasha was fine with that, until the letters started coming in.
Every once a month a letter would come in, sometimes it would be brought by a friend saying they were told to pass it on, other times an arrow with the letter attached would be shot at their home in the middle of the night or day. Every single time the name
Moroha
Would be written on the front and every time Moroha would grab the letter and run into the second room of the hut where she slept with her brother and close the sliding door.
Every day after the letter she would smile so big Inuyasha was worried about her facial muscles, and when he asked about the letters she would blush and say "nothing."
Inuyasha being the reasonable father that he is, knew that was bullshit. "Nothing" does not do that to a person. So he went looking for the letters.
he couldn't find them, he searched the small room for hours and nothing. No letters in sight.
Kagome still thought this was normal. His baby girl, keeping secrets from him, lying to him about "nothing." Was not normal for Inuyasha. Why would Moroha be hiding something from him?! While his growing concern for his daughter kept him up at night he almost missed seeing what was happening to his son.
Ichiki, his sweet little boy, lately has been being well-
A brat. Inuyasha had worse words in his vocabulary but they wouldn't be entirely correct for his son..
Ichiki was always a quiet boy. Not a leader, more a follower unlike most of his family. He's helpful and keeps to himself. This is all still true, but lately Inuyasha has noticed his boy has found himself an attitude. One very unlike Ichiki to develop in such a short amount of time.
Say something he didn't like he'll smile and nod, but when you look away you can always hear him muttering under his breath and if you look back in time you might even catch him rolling his eyes. He'll do what you want but he'll huff and puff if he doesn't want to do it.
Ichiki rarely looks up, preferring to stare at anything but your eyes during a conversation or even if you're just in the same room as him. When Inuyasha makes him look him in the eye it's almost like he's seeing right through you. It worried him, he worried about Ichiki ever since he was born early and sick so something like this was starting to freak him out.
So he talked to his wife again, now the third time that month Inuyasha had come to her in concern for their children.
After listening to all the facts he wrote down in his head Inuyasha finally got her to see they might have an issue.
"Okay, here's the game plan." Said the small priestess as she gently took the kettle of tea off the fire.
Inuyasha set both his hands down on the wooden floor and stared intensely at his wife. He nodded his head for her to continue.
"I'm going to go on an exorcism with Moroha tomorrow around lunch at the neighboring village. She's trying to get better with her spiritual powers, sometime before or after I will ask her about the letters." Kagome told him as she poured herself a cup of tea.
Inuyasha widened. "That means-"
Kagome nodded and poured her husband's cup "You get Ichi."
Inuyasha cringed a bit at that. " 'Gome, we haven't exactly been close lately. Ich might not want to talk to me." His ears dropped, Ichiki seemed to be more attached to his mother. It hurt but it might be better if they switched.
His wife seemed to read his mind. Looking down at her tea Kagome shook her head "Inuyasha. You've tried to talk to Moroha about those letters again and again and she still hasn't told you a thing, this might be a girl thing that I can help her with." She said with a coy smile as she looked up.
"Last I checked your no girl." Kagome giggled, it still and always will make Inuyasha smile. That laugh.
She continued. "Ichiki hasn't been very close to me lately either, he might just not want to talk period. It's still good for him to know that you and I will always be there for when he is ready to talk." She grabbed his hand.
Inuyasha put down his tea and adjusted his grip to hold her hand more comfortably.
"You know you're a good mother wench."
"And your amazing father husband."
Little did the parents know, in Inuyasha Forest, under The Sacred Tree, two young youths were having the same conversation.
"There you two are!" Inuyasha shouted out from the porch of the hut. Kagome and Moroha were supposed to leave already but she was late.
Looking at his two kids as they walked closer to him, Inuyasha noticed his son's short white hair all scuffed up.
Ah, so she was late because of sibling duties.
"Geez Moroha you're going to be late for your job with mom because you decided to rough up your brother?" Inuyasha laughed, his daughter's eyes widened.
Moroha gasped and put her hands on her head. "Oh crap! That's right, the exorcism!"
She jumped past him to run inside the hut.
Inuyasha could hear her cursing and rummaging throughout the two room building, trying to grab all of her stuff if he had to guess. In less than a minute the young girl crashed back outside desperately stuffing her belongings in a bag while the bow on her right shoulder slid down her arm with arrows falling out from the quiver that was on her back.
"Did mom leave already?!" She asked as she frantically began picking the fallen arrows up. Inuyasha was desperately holding his breath to keep from cracking up, oh Moroha was definitely his daughter, but right now she was all Kagome.
"Yeah she left just a few minutes ago, said if you really wanted to come you'd catch up if you wanted to." He mimicked his wife's words in the 'that's mom' voice.
"Dammit! Okay shit-" Moroha gasped as she ran down to her father and gave him a quick peck on the cheek and immediately wasted no time in messing up Ichiki's hair some more by ruffling it harshly. Then she was off following her mother's scent.
"Bye guys!" She yelled as she disappeared in the distance.
Once he was sure he was out of ear shot, he laughed. Inuyasha couldn't help it, the entire scenario brought back memories of when Kagome was late for those tests back in her world. Cursing and stuffing her backpack to it nearly popped, watching her run down the shrine yelling "goodbye!" and "see you later!" Just to fall down the stairs and for him to come rescue the clumsy wench. He laughed harder, his son seemed to find the scenario just as funny as he did because Ichiki began to laugh too.
Once the two calmed down Inuyasha looked at his son's hair again and wanted to laugh some more. His sister had done some damage to her poor brother. Ichikis hair wasn't like his, sure it was the same color but it was more similar texture to human hair which meant it got tangled and tangled badly.
Putting his hand behind Ichikis back he pushed him toward the hut,
"C'mon bud let's fix that rat nest on your head, what did she do? Put sap in or something, it's totally sticking up."
"I guess that's what I get for picking a fight with the vicious Beniyasha" Ichiki laughed and looked down at the ground.
Inuyasha sighed, still no eye contact he guessed. Once they were inside he grabbed the Kagome's comb she left on a shelf near the cooking area.
"Brush it out, I'll start lunch. Your mom left some stuff for me to cook." He said handing the comb to Ichiki.
Ichiki grabbed the comb but didn't start brushing his hair, he just kind of looked at it funny, running his fingers along the ridges. Inuyasha raised his eyebrow at that.
"You okay bud?" He asked, Ichiki looked kind of nervous, it was odd.
His son just looked up and smiled at him, opened his mouth but closed it again. Then he opened it again. "Um yeah! I was just wondering if- I don't know maybe we could uh-" Ichiki tried but just looked down again and shook his head.
"Nevermind." He mumbled and began to brush his hair. Inuyasha frowned, he couldn't force him to talk. He would just have to wait, he guessed. So he turned and was going to begin to start to cook and then he heard his son again.
"Maybe after lunch we could do a little training? Like the fighting kind?" It was mumbled under his breath but Inuyasha heard it all the same. His ears perked up, and he turned back to look at Ichiki who was looking back at him with his bright blue eyes.
"Really? Like hand to hand combat?" Inuyasha asked, trying not to sound too hopeful, since when did Ichiki want to learn stuff like that?
His son gave him an awkward smile. "If you don't mind, yeah, I thought it might be fun, you know?" His smile wavered and he looked back down. "We don't have to if you don't wan-"
Inuyasha stopped him immediately and put his hands up, "No! I want to! Yeah after lunch you can throw some punches at your old man Kay?"
Ichiki smiled again, this time a real one. Teeth and all. "Yeah okay!" He laughed.
Halfway to the neighboring village there was a blushing quarter demon stammering out little things written in the letters she holds dear to her heart while her mother smiled and nodded.
Teenagers, everything to them is so big no matter how little.
Fin.
I love writing Inukag family. They make me so happy 😁

I Can’t Fight
“Moroha you got to learn to dodge with your hands! Not your face!” Inuyasha scolded putting one hand at his side and the other point at his fifteen year old.
Moroha gave him an all too familiar cocky grin. “C’mon old man! You scared to hit a girl” She teased hopping from side to side, her fist still up.
“No! I'm scared I’m going to give my kid a black eye—!” He barely missed the foot in his face. Pushing it away and gaining himself some distance he looked up to see his daughter staring at him with something in her eyes that could only be said as feral.
Inuyasha had started training Moroha when she was only ten, five years later here he almost got her stinking foot crushed into his face. Who knew his little girl would be such a good sparring partner. Gone were the days his baby girl brought him flowers and asked him to braid her hair and now the future where she was this little devil combination of Kagome and himself.
“Cheap shot Kiddo!” Inuyasha laughed, cracking his knuckles. Moroha stuck out her tongue and used her two fingers to motion him forward. All her mother was there.
Oh Moroha was on her ass in seconds. Whining like a baby as she stared up at the blue sky, the sun being blocked out by her father.
“Looks like your old man still has some tricks up his sleeve.” Inuyasha chuckled and reached his hand down for her to take, which she did and he pulled her up onto her feet. Looking over to his right he saw Ichiki sitting on the porch watching intensely with blue eyes, Inuyasha gave him a thumbs up.
“Well Ichi you were keeping score, who won?” Inuyasha called out to his little boy. He had given him the job of keeping score of the sparring matches because Inuyasha got worried about him sometimes. Kids needed stuff to do to pass the time.
“Moroha lost by one, if she had won this one you guys would have tied.” Ichiki said, showing the count with his fingers.
“Dammit.” “Damn. I’m getting rusty” the daughter-father duo cursed.
“Language you two!”
Inuyasha's ear twitched looking up at his wife. Kagome had just walked out of their hut with a basket on her hip.
Walking up to her leaving a grumbling Moroha, he stopped right in front of her. His wife was taller by standing on the porch.
“You heading out ‘Gome?” Inuyasha asked, putting his hand on top of Ichiki’s head who was sitting next to him. His son giggled as he ruffled his short hair.
“Yeah Kaede needs me, her back has been really bad lately.” Kagome said, frowning slightly, “it's just the curse of old age I guess.”
Inuyasha watched as she shook her head as if to get rid of an idea that popped up in it. Kagome's beautiful smile returned. “I was going to take Ichiki with me.” She gestured to their boy with her open hand.
Inuyasha leaned down to him, Ichiki may be sitting down on the porch but the boy was still smaller than most his age. “You want me to save you bud? Your moms just going to tell you about plants and junk.” He whispered. Wiggling his fingers on ‘plants and junk’.
Ichi shook his head, and got up to stand next to his mother. “Thanks but I’m good.”
Inuyasha's smile wavered, Kagome and Ichiki started walking toward the direction of the village “…Okay, well if you change your mind your sister and I will just be bonking heads here” he called out once they got some distance.
All he got was a wave goodbye.
——————————————-
Inuyasha’s Forest was usually quiet but today near The Sacred Tree you could hear small heavy breathing. At the base of the tree was a small boy punching air mumbling to himself.
“Okay so..” he thought it over. “You block with your hands, cover your face. If you can’t see, you're as good as dead.” Ichiki told himself, rehearsing his fathers words.
The ten year old had told his mother he was going to play in the forest while she did her priestess chores, she didn’t mind. Their home wasn’t too far from The Sacred Tree, or The Bone Eaters Well.. Their small hut was right between these two special places, but that was a long story to remember another day.
Right now Ichiki had to think about what his father told his sister during training today.
Ichiki couldn’t fight, he himself came up with this conclusion. One Air punch.
He didn’t seem to have demonic powers. Two punches.
“Remember your footing…” he mumbled, jumping on his heels, spreading his legs a bit.
His spiritual powers he did have could be strong in the future , but everything he’s been learning there has nothing to do with self defense. Three punches.
Backing up a bit, Ichi attempted a kick, like the one Moroha had done to surprise their father. He backed up too much though. Gravity took control and he felt himself fall backwards onto the forest floor with the fallen leaves. They cracked as he landed, it was Fall they were dead already.
“Dang it.” Ichiki muttered, looking up at the forest, some trees still had leaves struggling to hold on. Maybe he was in denial.
“What on earth are you doing down there quarter demon?”
Ichiki gasped and immediately sat up, leaves falling from his white hair as he did so. His eyes were met with a familiar small figure, green skin holding the “dangerous” Staff Of Two Heads. He smiled.
“Hiya Jaken!” Ichiki gushed, the green skinned demon was always a way to cheer up fast.
Jaken just rolled his eyes at him. “Did it ever occur to you child that some demons may not even see you as quarter demon and more like a snack?” The green imp told Ichiki like it was a fact and not a question.
“Ah I don’t have much meat on my bones” he laughed standing up brushing the leaves off his clothes. “I probably wouldn’t be too filling.”
“A snack boy, not a meal.” Jaken was rubbing his temple now, as if it was in pain.
All Ichiki could do was chuckle, he always needed to be right, there was no point in saying anything. Usually when Jaken was around the village it meant he was here with Sesshomaru visiting Rin. Jaken will wait in the forest for his lord to return and if Ichiki was in the area he liked sitting down with him in silence and waiting with him. If he was lucky his Uncle would come around and give him acknowledgement.
Ichikis current smile cringed because when he thought about it, the most he got out of his Uncle Sesshomaru was a wave, maybe a word or two. Huh.
“You didn’t answer.” Jaken’s voice snapped Ichiki out of his thought process. Looking at the imp he tilted his head in a dog-like manner. “What?”
“Why were you on the floor?”
“Oh I uh, I was fighting, well pretending to fight I guess.” He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. “I was trying to copy my dad, I don’t really know how to fight, I just copy what my sister learns.”
Jaken seemed like he had something to say about that but a cold voice from above beat him to it.
“My brother has already failed the bloodline in more ways than one.” looking up, Ichiki saw his uncle fall down to the earth gracefully like the leaves falling off the Fall trees.
“Lord Sesshomaru!” Jaken gasped in delight. Like a pet waiting for his owner to come home.
“It doesn’t shock me that he would continue.” Sesshomaru said, looking down at him with his piercing amber eyes.
“Uncle Sesshomaru?”
“Nephew.” One word, but acknowledgment nonetheless. Ichiki smiled and Sesshomaru just looked at him. The cold wind blew through his short hair and around his uncle’s. Being so long it moved it around but never in his face.
Sesshomaru turned and began to walk away, and Jaken followed. This was normal when it came to their interactions.
Ichiki didn’t want to be alone for much longer so if his uncle was taking leave maybe he should go back to his mother.
He was just about to turn away when his uncle spoke.
“Training by your father won’t make you into the fighter you wish to be.”
Jaken stopped in his tracks and looked at his lord in shock, so did Ichiki. Sesshomaru took a small breath and looked at the small boy.
“To fight you must be the predator and never the prey. When you attack, you attack to kill.” He said in a tone that made his nephew shiver.
Kill. A common word used in this time period. Not even unusual to a ten year old like himself and yet it seemed cruel.
“Why?” Ichiki asked so quietly that the wind could take it away if it wanted to.
Sesshomaru looked away from and began to start to walk away again, he made a motion with his fingers this time though. It was such a small gesture that Ichiki could have missed it. It was the same way his father told his children to follow him.
So that’s what Ichiki did, he followed Lord Sesshomaru and Jaken deeper into the forest, and it became his first real day of training. With his uncle of all people.

Family Life Suits Them Well
Chapter 3
The Fun Uncle?
Tumblr media
“Tag! You're it!!” a boy with brown hair in a small pony tail ran past his mother who was hanging laundry.
“Hisui! Get back here!” screamed a young girl with hair tied up in a white bow, going underneath the wet laundry to get closer to the boy.
Sango couldn’t help but laugh watching the two children run off, at her feet was little Ichiki, writing in the dirt.
“Ichiki?” the boy with white hair looked up, tilting his head in almost a dog-like manner.
“Wouldn’t you like to play with your sister and Hisui?”
Ichiki, now four years old, just shook his head and resumed writing in the dirt with his stick of choice.
Frowning, Sango put her laundry aside for a moment and knelt down by the young boy.
“You could go inside the house with the twins, making sky lanterns.” she tried again. She told Inuyasha she would try. Ichiki’s father had been worried about his son lately, for a four year old he didn’t seem very interested in many things. Moroha was eager about everything around her when she was around four-five but Ichiki just kept to himself.
Inuyasha and Kagome were on a demon extermination right now, so Sango and Miroku were watching their kids.
“You don’t have to make a sky lantern, there are other crafts you can do, maybe make something for your parents?”
Ichiki seemed to notice Sango wasn’t going to give up so he mumbled okay and made his way to the house. Sango started to continue her laundry.
Ichiki’s thoughts always got the better of him,
They always did, he knew they did because one moment he was making his way to his aunt’s home and now the four year old found himself walking through Inuyasha’s Forest.
The young boy looked around his surroundings, quickly realizing he didn’t know which way he came from.
“Sango?” he asked “Momo?” he said louder.
“Hello?” Ichiki knew what happened, he went and got himself lost. Was he just stupid? No, his daddy said he was too smart for his own good, but then why? Why was he always lost?
The four year old felt his eyes begin to water. If he was like his sister he’d be able to smell his way out but he wasn’t. Besides his white hair Ichiki didn’t have demonic abilities.
What if nobody found him? What if a bigger demon thought he looked like a snack? What if-
“You! Boy! Why on earth are you all the way out here from the village!”
Ichiki slowly looked up to see a green man, not much taller than him.
Jaken couldn't believe his eyes, it was Inuyasha’s boy! Jaken had accompanied Lord Sesshomaru to meet the child about four springs ago. Taking a good look at him he could see that Ichiki had grown. “You shouldn’t be out here little boy, it's not safe especially for a quarter demon like yourself.”
The child looked down at the ground as if he was scolded and then quietly asked “Do you know me?”
“Does your father not speak of Lord Sesshomaru and I?!”
“I know about Sess-hu-ru” Ichiki struggled with the long name,
“But not me! Jaken!?”
“The Toad?”
Jaken fell over, the little boy giggled.
Now laying on the grass floor Jaken was beyond annoyed, how could that little brat only know him as a toad? Sighing, Jaken looked up to see a pair of black shoes and white pants.
Gulping he looked up to see a pair of blank eyes that belonged to his Lord.
Bright gold met deep blue as Sesshomaru looked down at Ichiki. Very little emotion in his face.
Ichiki had heard about him, stories from his parents but this is the first time the four year old can think of seeing him.
His uncle looked him up and down, his voice came out smooth and neat.
“Hello nephew.”
Ichiki thought of answering but that was before red went through his vision and a rough hand found its place on his head.
“Sesshomaru,” his father said.
“Brother.”
“What the hell are you doing all the way out here with my kid?”
“Now Inuyasha! Don’t you go and yell at your brother! We found your son here lost in the woods! The brat shouldn’t have gone and wondered if it’s not our fault, especially mine! If he’s not where he should be!” Jaken quickly cutted in, getting a death glare from Inuyasha that shut him up fast.
“Look Sesshomaru, if you're here for Rin she’s at the old hags place, you haven’t paid any interest to my kids before, let's just keep it that way.” Ichiki’s father spoke, bending down to the boy and easily picking him up. Never breaking eye contact with Sesshomaru.
“Don’t be foolish, I had no interest in the first place.”
Inuyasha gave his brother one more look before making his way back to the village.
Ichiki realized he never said hello back to his uncle, it wouldn’t be nice if he left it like that, so the boy waved at his uncle as they slowly made distance away from each other.
To his pleasant surprise, Sesshomaru made a small wave back that made the four year old smile.
🎃
The character Ichiki is one I made a long time ago back In 2015 when I first finished the show.
He was just what I thought the son of Inukag would be. I love my little boy ❤️
⭐️ please reblog and comment, it helps a lot
