But! Yes!!  It doesn’t come into play much in my presentation because of the current conditions of Ghetsis’s life but! It’s in there. Ofc I don’t force it on anybody--if a Kyurem rper wouldn’t want to have it obey Ghetsis I won’t act like it’s wrong--but it’s like.  The default blog canon I suppose you could say.))

After AU Ghetsis got his new reference a while ago, AU Kyurem finally gets a new one too! Huge lore dump inclusive :) Zoom in for readability, the file is like 5000x6000 lol

This Kyurem is something between an OC and the canon thing. Either way I have been super hyperfixated on this Pokemon specifically for years.

Reference for my OC Ghetsis from my Pokémon AU Perfect Heroes on which I'm working on terribly slow. It's been years since I made any kind of reference for him and it took me some time to finish this one because I really wanted to nail his outfit (plus my files nuked themselves last year). This shows him in the midst of my AU's story, some years after B2W2 end. There are no significant signs of aging because it may be that the Dragon Heroes are semi-immortal. It's just fun like that.

AU Kyurem will be next :)

Beginning of a Story

12 years ago I was a sad little kid playing Pokemon White. It wasn't my first or my last Pokemon game I would play and I would have never thought it would change me as much as it did. Since I loved the original games so much I also bought the sequels years later on October 12, 2012. Glued to the screen I finished the main story within a few days.

Pokemon and moreso Unova was my escape. I played both gen 5 games a good 2000 hours. These games impacted me deeply and thaught me a lot of things. The story, the world and characters stick with me to this day.

To this point everything normal, right? Except that my favourites of choice were quite the odd characters. The runt, the broken, the ugly, the iredeemable, the evil.

How will their story continue? How will it end? How did it start?

I wanted to answer these questions.

This art shows Kyurem shortly after being split from the original dragon and Ghetsis shortly after being rejected by Reshiram. He tells us in the games that he could never become a dragon hero himself.

It's their starting points and reason why they will do everything that follows. Seperate stories destinied to merge.

And their journey is has not ended yet.

Again thinking about how if my specific AU versions of Kyurem and Ghetsis would be dropped onto Pasio and given a sync stone, Kyurem could potentially  temporarily shapeshift back into the original dragon without fusion.

Kinda how it can do that with its corrupted black and white forms in my story that is only a body morph. Means it cant generate fire or electricity, it solely changes stats and physical form.

Because neither Reshiram nor Zekrom complete Kyurem, its hero does.

It’s about the symbolism ok?

The post I reblogged earlier made me think if I should post this but anyways some AU info dumping incoming.

In my AU legendary Pokemon (who happen to be dragons often) and their respective human, in most cases share mental or even physical connection that can lead to mental melds in rare cases.

Depending on the Pokemon, this can lead to different effects and unlock certain abilties.

In my AU, each Tao dragon has abilities locked behind the hero - dragon bond. For starters, as an example, Reshiram and Zekrom need it to stay out of their stone forms and unlock their powerful lvl 100 moves. In return their heroes gain some of their innate attributes and powers. The hero replaces what has been lost in the original dragon’s splitting, what the dragons otherwise could not acess as the splitting was due to a strong bond the dragon shared with its former friends.

As an example because I love them so much, I gonna explain how Kuyrem and Ghetsis use their connection and how they complement and benefit each other. Their bond enables Kyurem to reconnect with old pieces of itself that were lost in the tides of time, such as the splicer, Reshiram, Zekrom and other various pieces spread over Unova. That led to Kyurem being able to partially shapeshift to white and black form without fusion. It’s usually only a body morph and it can’t produce and fire or eletricity on its own.

As you all know, Kyurem and Ghetsis have a fucked up right body side. Since Kyurem’s hero requirements aren’t about pure hearts or some boring bullshit but about being healed, I thought it might only be logical if this effect is mutual. Their connection to each other slowly heals them and mends their old wounds to some extent. Kyurem eventually regains the ability to actually fly oppossed to just leviate with stong ice winds and Ghetsis gains back vision on his right eye, althrough it changed colour because I’m quirky. Their right side becomes each other’s center piece of their bond. When they fly together, they can also combine their senses. Kyurem has forward facing eyes like a human but its eyes are very sensible to light and sun and it cannot see very well in bright conditions. It can also not differ between colours as well. It being a noctunal hunter and all.

Ghetsis doesn’t have this problem, althrough very sunny weather can be hard on his eyes (ah the pain of having no or barely any melanin in your eyes). This can be easily fixed by goggles or glasses tho. Also Kyurem genuinly ejoys his human colour vision. He can also act as 2nd pair of eyes for back view as Kyurem’s field of view is confined to its front.

Reshiram’s and Zekrom’s bond with their trainer works in a similiar way, being each others eyes, cover their dragon’s blind spots and offering a tactical advantage over any enemy that cannot emulate what they have.

This is roughly what I imagine their respective field of vision to be. I’m not a pokemon professor so don’t lynch me.

The dragon-hero bond in my story gets even deeper and whackier but I thought I might retell the basics and focus on the more obvious effects.

I swear this is not a vent drawing. It’s more of a creative cryptic thing related to late arcs in my AU. It was inspired by a song of a game I never played but it resonated with me so we have this now.

The theme of this artwork is not pain or hate, it’s devotion. Unbelievable, right?

It’s not like anyone besides me and close friends can interpret this, so I expect a ton of bad takes coming outta this. However I hope you enjoy me posting something once in 200 years.

My memories darken and cloud, eclipsing yesterday's blue sky. Even so I can't bear to let go of the past. My broken heart trembles in pain as my regrets tear at its strings. As I know that I don't deserve to mourn my losses.

Promises shattered. Tear drops fall as the last hope I had scattered like leaves in the storm.

Now I take a stand, sword up, pointing straight, aiming for that black heart. Even if my fate destines me to an end of burning flame. I'll sacrifice everything to get you back. Wait for me please I'll wake you from this long dream.

This city remembers the day when despair fell upon its soul. In this land where nobody could hold onto hope no more.

Now I raise my head and I swear that there's no turning back I won't look back any more.
