Mabel’s lips pursed in a small frown for a moment and she almost lowered the hand holding the extra glass of punch she had grabbed from the refreshments table. She had spotted the man when she and Dipper had firstly arrived, but she still hadn’t seen him moving from his spot against the wall in a corner of the square.

This wasn’t the first time she had seen him. They had crossed paths in town the first day she and her brother had come back to Gravity Falls for the summer, a couple of weeks before, and then they had bumped into each other mostly around the woods. Their exchanges had been short and she had hardly caught his name.

At first, she had decided to just leave him be. She had grasped that he was the kind of people who liked being on their own, so she hadn’t wanted to accidentally annoy him. However, as the evening had gone on, she hadn’t been able to stop thinking about how lonely he looked, just standing there alone, while everyone was having fun chatting and dancing.

So, she had excused herself from her friends, grabbed two plastic glasses and walked over. What was the worst that could happen after all? He would have told her to leave him alone.

“Well, you don’t need to go crazy or join the games or anything. Just mingling a little and get to know the other towners,” she replied with a little shrug, nudging the punch closer to him once again. “And there’s free food. That’s always great, right? I helped making the pies!”

She wasn’t exactly the best baker, because her real talent was for knitting and making clothes, but she was learning. Still her Grunkles hadn’t been ecstatic to see the kitchen of their cabin turned into a Pollock of flour and dough.

“You’re new in town, aren’t you? I’ve been here last summer and the one before too, so I know almost everyone by now.” It was a small town, after all. “But I’ve never seen you around.” She grinned. “Alsooooo...I know we’ve already seen each other around, but I’ve never properly introduced my self. I’m Mabel! Nice to meet you!”

best part about working at local cafe chain was giving away all trade secret iced coffee recipes to my mom so she could make them at home.

An underrated Snufmin-thing is in the ice skating-episode in season 1 when Moomin and Snufkin are holding a lantern each and the Moominparents (seeing them from a far and through thick fog) thinking it’s two fireflies courting and remarking on how cute it is.

Well the two fireflies are in fact very cute together
