nodding along with a post and then halfway through it gets weird and confusing and realizing "oh! this was written through a culturally christian lens that i am fundamentally incapable of comprehending due to my background! no wonder i no longer know what the fuck OP is talking about"

#some posts are Not For Me and that's fine #many tumblr users' conception of the divine is just fundamentally incomprehensible to me and that's okay #the world is vast and full of many different types #that being said #what the fuck are you people talking about #i've seen so many arguments on my dash just today that boil down to #“i don't believe in god/s because god=good and there are things that are not good”#and i just cannot comprehend people applying human morality to something that is fundamentally inhuman #the gods are gods because they're gods #they can do what they want that's the point #it doesn't really matter how you feel about what they do #but again i'm viewing this through my own cultural framework #and explaining this terribly because i'm drunk #and i'm not even getting into the idea that the western concept of/english word “god” is not adequate for what i'm talking about anyway #but i'm tryign to go by the framework the posts that confused me used #and i realize that's pointless becuase this is. not my world
