gonna be honest i think there is such a fundamental difference in the bioware fandom - as well as the company - before and after, say, 2015, that i find it genuinely difficult to relate to people who got into the fandom in more recent years. like we're just operating on entirely different foundational experiences lol

#i've seen people act like they can't believe people found Mass Effect or its fandom bro-y back in the day and its like...#bc ofc the active fandom now is very queer + fem leaning #and i think that actually can recontextualize a lot of the goofier 'sexy space babes!' kind of shit in the games lol #they can't conceive of an environment where the molecular structure of tali's sweat wasn't a meme #and its like. i love this for them but man #i wish i'd lived in that alternate reality lol #we were walking 6 miles in the snow in bare feet! just to get some respect for femshep! and what we got was a beauty contest lmao #tbc there's a lot i like about the newer takes in Bioware fandom 2.0! its just like very clear we had different introductory experiences lo #coiffure texts
