who'd've thought that taking breaks even from activities you enjoy is important

it is very impossibly hard to actually take breaks from drawing when i Really Want To though. it's never something i've had to do before except for leaving a piece to continue working on later (i.e., when i need to sleep, or if i have to go out that day and can't work on it, things that make it so i HAVE to)

generally i would always just. keep drawing. and keep drawing. if i was drawing things i would purposely take days off from it. but i have to do that now and man. Man. it's so hard to resist.

#🔪.text #a lesson i am unfortunately going to have to learn #i now have hope my wrists will get better #but i don't know if i have hope that i will ever be able to do things like i used to #but... maybe that's for the best.#i think it wasn't good to just sit and do the same thing for 10+ hours straight multiple days in a row #this is going to force me to stop that habit #the transition with art seems to be going well at least #but i have no idea how well that transition will go for gaming #ripping myself out of hyperfocus/hyperfixation on a game sounds. really painful tbh.#bc that's how my adhd Works.#it is something very fundamental to me #and now i'm going to have to change it.#because it is no longer safe #agh.#but one step at a time.#i've not tried playing any games since the Minecraft Incident anyway #i want to focus on art and learning to pace that first #then i'll branch out to other things
