i saw a tiktok that headcanoned who the bg3 companions would main and as both a bg3 and ow2 enjoyer i thought i'd join in!

astarion

the tiktok said he'd be a sombra main and just yes. no notes on that one honestly. they said that he'd love to get on everyone's nerves but also lore wise?? sombra is a hacker which is like the modern day rogue. sombra would totally play as a rogue if she ever played d&d so it's a perfect match.

i feel like he'd also play genji too to annoy everyone (all my homies hate genji mains).

he'd exclusively be a dps main and only queues for dps. he just wants to fuck around in the enemy's flanks lmao.

gale

the tiktok said zen because of the orb jokes which yeah gale would do. i feel like gale would also love how much zen yaps in spawn as he is also a fellow yapper.

this is partially a joke but gale screams male mercy main. everyone thinks he's a girl and gets so shocked when he unmutes to say "gg" at the end of the game. it's especially bad when he plays mercy and astarion plays genji... astarion just takes the piss out of him and keeps getting low health on purpose so that gale has to pocket him. (sorry i'm also a bloodweave enjoyer </3)

he'd queue for all and try every character but everyone knows he's a support main. he can handle mid-range dps like sojourn but he cannot handle tanks but he still tries! his favourite tank to play as is ram but he tries his best at the others tanks too.

karlach

the tiktok said she'd be a zarya main for the buff women solidarity and again, i can see it. i feel like personality wise it also matches. zarya having her shield which makes her stronger over time i think suits karlach very well as no matter all the pain she goes through she still remains positive :)

going along with the buff strong woman solidarity, she'd also play junker queen, too (and she understandably secretly has a crush on her).

karlach would 100% be a tank main because she'd want to take all the hits for her team and protect them. she only queues for tank but will dapple in the other roles occasionally.

lae'zel

the tiktok said she'd be a pharah main because she'd love to fly around. lore wise, i think they match quite well too.

i feel like she'd also love playing sym. she'd love finding the best points to put her turrents to get the most damage without being destroyed easily and strategically placing her teleporters in the right places to flank.

she would be a dps main as she's a fighter and she definietly only queues for dps. she kind of thinks that the other roles are kind of useless anyway. like a "if you kill them quick enough then you won't need any healing" kind of vibe. and tanks are only good for being a distraction so she can kill them all from behind.

the tiktok said she'd be a brig main because they're both healers and use flails which is valid reasoning but i think personality wise they're almost like opposites of each other.

i feel like she'd be better suited to illari. they're both kind of moody and broading with a looooot of trauma. also i love the juxtaposition of her being a sharran and playing a character who uses the power of the sun, yk?

i feel like she would be a support main. especially playing characters like illari and brig because they both do good amounts of damage so she can dps as well as heal (she may miss her fireballs a lot but when she hits, she hits).

wyll

the tiktok said that he'd be an orisa main because he'd want to protect his team, which checks out lore wise!

i absolutely think that wyll is a jack of all trades type of overwatch player so he's good at all roles and loves playing them all for different reasons.

he loves tank so he can protect his team! as well as orisa, i feel like he'd love playing doomfist too ("and they say chivalry is dead" is a very wyll coded line).

he loves dps so he can show off his skills every now and again. i can see him as a mei or a junkrat main because he loves their voicelines the most. (mei refuses to give up and junkrat just makes him laugh)

he'd also love being support to help out his team. i can 100% see him as a lucio main because he loves how fun his playstyle and personality are. he'd also love being lifeweaver and baptiste for the same reasons and juno for the same reason he plays mei.

the tiktok said he'd be a bastion main because he loves ganymede which i guess works but it doesn't seem like the best fit to me idk?? to be honest, i don't think halsin would even play ow2 lmaooo so maybe he'd be a tracer main because she's in the tutorial and he doesn't realise there are other heroes to choose from.

the tiktok said she'd be a widow main and would be accused of using an aimbot and yeah ate, no crumbs.

i can see her as an ashe main too but she never uses her ult because she's better than bob. her whole team shouts at her for not using it but it's clearly true that she doesn't need bob. she still gets the most kills and wins potg everytime despite never using bob. everyone hates her for it.

she'd be a dps and a moira main only. she'd play moira but only dps and finish with the most damage and like 50 healing. she'd still get potg though. everyone still hates her. she doesn't care.

minsc

i do feel like he'd play torb too though because they just seem like they'd get on so well.

also he'd love playing rein for the same reason as torb honestly. just try and tell me they're not the same character because you know i'm right with this one.

minsc is fine queueing for all roles. i have no idea who he'd play as a support though, maybe baptiste? he'd hate to play moira though because he hates her lack of morals and her voicelines make him angry.

i can't really see her playing any other role or hero ngl, maybe d.va and kiriko? but no one really gives the same vibes as ana <3
