I wish taylor still did pre-release lead singles. I know she doesn't need to but I just like them
#it made sense not to with folklore and evermore obviously being surprise drops#and now she's figured there's no need so why not just keep the suspense (and avoid anyone getting put off by the lead single since they've#sometimes been received not that well in the past)#but i just like having a song or two before the whole album#i like having a deliberate 'this is the first taste i want you to have of this album'#i've honestly never been less excited for an upcoming taylor album#which is for a few reasons (generally disengaged/disconnected with taylor as a person/celebrity + already dreading how the media/fandom#response to the album is going to be insufferable lol)#but i think it's partly just not having a song (and a music video) or a couple to enjoy and pore over and get into#talking#taylor swift
