Preparing for Harvestfest

He was out there all day, raking up leaves

Despite the fact that the Romance Festival happened so recently, the Geek Con happened, and so Buck and Mary Lu went to that as well. Neither of them could be described as geeks; neither of them play video games or avidly watch TV, and the main reason that Buck has so many figurines is because he just digs up everything in sight.

And so they did something that they could boast about later.

It's a really good thing I don't have risky woohoo on, otherwise I'm sure that Mary Lu would've gotten pregnant again after all this.

After the rocket ship fun, they went to the karaoke bar nearby by, and for some reason Mary Lu got a §21 drink, because they certainly don't have the kind of money to have a §21 drink. While Mary Lu was enjoying that drink, Ruby showed up, and was convinced to sing a karaoke song.

Buck watched the performance, and he kept laughing the whole time. It's hard to know if he was laughing at them, or with them, but he thought it was good. Mary Lu got embarrassed from her bad singing, so I think Ruby was carrying for both of them.

The next day, the Brokes started preparing for Harvestfest. They invited the whole family to come over (despite barely having enough room for themselves), and so Buck and Mary Lu had to neaten up the place, so that no one would complain about puddles or something.

Buck also got to have quality cuddle time with Susie, which was very cute.

After the kids came home, Trigger was in a bad mood, and he was just ranting and raving to Mary Lu, who didn't even know how to respond.

This was just the beginning though, because Trigger later starting insisting that he's not a little kid, and that he should be able to do what he wants! (An odd sentiment, given that they don't even have a curfew) He expressed this thoroughly to Buck, who was just trying to dance to the music on the radio.

He had a vastly different response from Mary Lu, who did have something to say this time, likely something along of the lines of, "if you want independence, you're gonna have to pay for it".

After that, Mary Lu sent Trigger to bed, and both them went to bed quite angry. Luckily, Harvestfest is literally tomorrow, so at least they won't have to spend the entire day together at the house, in a holiday that celebrates family, connection, and friends.
