#i've been fixating on bioshock again

Spoilers for Bioshock Infinite, even though it's a 10 year old game at this point

Comstock really could've just lied to his wife about who Elizabeth was. He could've said that he tried to reconnect with his "twin brother," who was there at Wounded Knee but refused the baptism, and found that he was an alcoholic widower drowning in gambling debts and couldn't provide for his daughter. Make a whole sermon about it, seeing the road not traveled and where he could've ended up if he didn't find the Lord, and explain that he helped get the debts written off if Comstock could take in the baby girl while "his brother" tried to get his shit together.

Now would Lady Comstock have believed him? Probably not, she's hopping mad and highly cynical, but it's a decent ploy and like 85% truthful, so it might have gotten her off the whole "this is my husband's affair baby" track

oh of course. pretty much everything i've ever been fixated on at one point or another will remain dear in my heart until the end of time. i might not talk about it often but whenever someone brings it up it's like ... ah yes my THING

homestuck is obviously a big one since that dominated my life for several years. trigun is up there as well. and idk if a band counts exactly but tally hall is like part of me, so

other perennial faves include: bioshock, undertale, bojack horseman, little shop of horrors, repo! the genetic opera, and like. again idk how much musicians count here but elton john and orville peck are also my guys <33

CURRENTLY WATCHING: Literally the worst question to ever ask me bc the answer is always gonna be nothing. Trying to get me to watch/sit through tv shows and movies in my adult life is a hopeless endeavor almost always. Ask me abt video games instead, I'll never shut up.

CURRENTLY READING: The Left Hand Of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin. I'm a ways through it, I've just been a little slower at reading this year than I normally am. The good news is that's because I've been way more productive with my art this year which I am pleased to be loving creating again.

CURRENT OBSESSION: The Outer Worlds and Fallout I suppose. They're my biggest fixations and comfort games (aside from Kingdom Hearts and Shadow of the Colossus [and to some degree The Stanley Parable]). I genuinely love a lot of things but I don't quite get this deeply hooked on just anything. Ummmm idk. Midnight Mass has been really on my brain again while I'm doing silly au stuff.

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to also list BioShock lmao. While we're at it, go play Soma, also one of my favorite games.

so it's really kind of a mixed bag? some of us view each other as being related and some see each other as uh. "coworkers" for lack of a better term. roommates but not *that* casual? we definitely have clusters that consider each other family, mako/nebby/whip/🐶 being the most prominent. there's probably a chart we made somewhere to catalogue the relationships that we desperately need to update lol

BLURRY blurry blurry blurry!!! we're used to it since that's just how we've always been but it's a common joke in-system that we don't need drugs to make us loopy... people irl tend to think we're stoned all the time but it's literally just us floating through time and space. you'd think with how much memory we share together that we'd be more present in the moment but that could not be further from the truth lol

cube! shortened from our system name, cube squad. it was coined by mako/whip during a late sleepless night while mako was noticing how our old system name (echo system) was more associated with our.. ahem.. awful internal communication LOL whip technically came up with it, it's a reference to our tendency to be a fan of the shape as well as games featuring it (minecraft, portal, terraria (though that one's a stretch)

fun fact: if i (liz) had not gotten into club penguin, there was a VERY real chance of our next fixation being via julian, since right before we logged back into cpr for the first time since 2018, he started playing BIOSHOCK

favorite: i'll get back to you on this one since i still haven't quite figured out my deal yet but i've been hanging out with julian/mako whenever they're nearby and that's nice. so i guess for now.. knowing in our system specifically it's nice to be able to not know things and not be pressured into "just knowing"?

least favorite: I CANT BE A DRAGON OR LOOK LIKE MY PENGUIN AVATAR IRL that and the fact that sharing with multiple people means i gotta introduce myself to people like duuuude just feel my vibes.
