OKAY. Warning guys. EXTENSIVE RAMBLING UNDER THE CUT we're doing performance thoughts and favorite lyrics. I realize I could put my thoughts on lyrics but that might be for another day this is twelve songs we're talking about

She Wants Me (To Be Loved) - Obviously obsessed with this one this is the first song that got me suuuper into The Happy Fits AND the first one I heard recorded this way. Got to see that electric Cello in action and it ROCKKKKED I was SO pumped GREAT start loved that you could hear everyone it was sosososo silly. Actually got to see everyone's faces. I am in love with this band.

Mary - First time hearing this song ever and I LOOOOOOVE IT. Luke's voice is so much fun and this song generally just rocked it's one of my favorites in the entire playlist I keep coming back to it all the solos slam and Calvin was having SO MUCH FUN on the Cello I think you can see that everyone was just really into it and I love it so much ughhhh guhhhh aughh you can see how distinct everyone's body language is there's just so much personality and Also. Can you feel Mary's lovin little lamb. Kill me

Hold Me Down - Everyone was so happy playing this one it was so much fun this song was MEANT just DESTINED for the acoustics of that room the way that they echo during the chorus is soooooo HRHRHRFFRFRFFRRGG also Luke got to sing again which I really enjoyed he's fun I love how bouncy everyone is and I looooove the lighting. I am a SUCKER for this chorus I'm here my love WITH THE RESONANCE ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEEEE I also LOVE Calvin's vocals when he gets really deep it's so silly

I never cared for fancy art / or poetry and old guitars / but they always sing along

I've been talking to myself / on some Icarus spell / but it got better when you didn't go

Cold Turkey - Have to be honest I hate the way Calvin says Turkey it's actually like startling to me so I don't really listen to this song but I do loooove it also they're super silly here. Very intent eye contact with the camera when Calvin is on piano and I love how everyone else plays around while Raina and him do instrumental I LOVE seeing bands interact with eachother in a playful manner it's so much fun,, I love the piano and the vocals a lot again the acoustics in this room are so perfect,,, maybe you'll call before it's too late UFGUUUHHHH

Go Dumb - This song is just like me for real and I love how much fun everyone has with the lyrics I love Raina's backup vocals and I love how everyone rocks along just OUGHHHH THEY'RE HAVING SUCH A GOOD TIME and again the gang vocals KILL IT forever and ever,,, they're so silly. Love the Cello here also

Heart Of A Dancer - HANDS DOWN FAVORITE SONG ON THIS PLAYLIST I love Heart Of A Dancer all on its own but this one was soooooo gorgeous and fun I love the pace and the clashing of instruments it scratches a very specific itch in my brain,, I love Calvin's intonation and how sometimes he gets so into his instrument that he tapers off a little like EXACTLY that is EXACTLY what this song is about. How everyone interacts with the camera and how Calvin interacts with the microphone and Luke's faces the whole time and how Nicole DESTROYYYYYYYYYS HER SOLO and Calvin drops off screen and does silly little things during the instrumental just AUGHFGFGRGRHRHRYGGG banging my head frothing at the mouth it's my FAVORITE. It's my favorite. Everybody's smiling the whole time and I love that they're caught off guard by his count off at the end and how he just ditches the bow. That's what this song is FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I could write a whole post just about Heart Of A Dancer

Moving - I loooove how legato everything is it just flows right in and is such a stark trabsition from Heart Of A Dancer but I enjoy it I loooooove the Moving instrumental but I love the way Calvin's voice shakes in this recording it is sososososo good so silly and the gang vocals here are once again bordering on divine. Ouuuuuuh how he just about breaks into laughter in the bridge and how he bounces this whole song is so silly and I liked Nicole a lot as well,, obsessed with the Cello as per usual. Love that everyone's a little bit sleepy but still grinning and I like the fact that they got higher at the end as opposed to the usual drop sooo much fun

Don't you make my heart beat faster / don't you make me mad / doctor call the undertaker / THIS one MIGHT be BAD!!!

So Alright, Cool, Whatever - this is either the first or second song I've ever heard from The Happy Fits because I think it might've went Dirty Imbecile, this song, and then She Wants Me (To Be Loved) so I will forever be obsessed with this one I ALMOST FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT IT if I ever mention The Happy Fits albums and don't talk about So Alright, Cool, Whatever that iz NOT me. Kill that thing. I love how Nicole takes this one over and I love how small Calvin gets all of these other videos he's so obnoxious and animated and I think it's visible that this song is pretty personal to him in some way I loooove his voice here and Nicole's drawl is definitely a lot of fun and makes the lyrics a lot more prominent!!!! I loooove this version and I love the exaggeration of phrasing

I love how desperate this song ends up being by the way. Narrator is NOT beating the I Care allegations. Very fun to apply to characters

I'll Be Somewhere - this is the one song in this playlist I don't have many feelings about,,,, it iz very nice and I like how it vaguely resembles Little One and Luke's first verse is fun and Calvin on the piano is nice. Ummm I really like the guitar at the beginning that rocks. But I think the interest fades after the first 45 seconds for me personally. I do like several aspects of it but I wouldn't listen to it daily

No Instructions - THE autism song for me. No instructions. I'm freaking out. Definitely the song I'm most animated with the long phrases give me a lot of room to be expressive and there's something about the intonation that's so paralyzing like you HAVE to do SOMETHING about it or you'll explode you know. Calvin's voice here is a lot of fun generally and I like how Luke messes with the camera and Nicole and Raina ROCK with their vocals here. I too am anxious about confrontation and navigating the social landscape and just want to go to bed. Thank you

Do Your Worst - I'm going to be honest I can gage like three lyrics of this song but I know the guitar ROCKS thank you Nicole and I know the melody is super super nice and I love the transitions from intense to casual it vaguely reminds me of a Western soundtrack even thought that is not even remotely what it is. I have to move on because I am not actually aware of any of the words that are said besides 'Do your worst' and 'I thought you wanted this'(???)

Little One - I LOOOOOOOVE Little One it reminds me of Little One by Highly Suspect which is one of the songs that makes me NAUSEOUS with nostalgia jesus christ. Makes me cry just a little bit. Kind of grassy to me I could run around in a field to any version of this song. Also vaguely similar to Hold Me Down which is one of my favorites . LOVE THE CELLO I think that's the thing that makes me so emotional it's so strong and I am as per usual obsessed. Somebody save me. The general sentiment about belonging also hurts really bad. I think this was a really really good one to end with because everyone's so visibly relaxing into it and you can see that yhey're tired but they're still having fun and I think that's definitely what this song is about. Can you tell this was also one of my favorites
