Meet the artist Saphomet.

"Holo there! I'm Saphomet, most call me Ghost. I'm mainly a writer/fanartist who enjoys creating dark, gothic or humoristic work. I've been sharing my writing since 2013, same-ish with my art."

Fun facts:

My favourite season is winter, I hate summer.

I don't really watch movies, I prefer books.

I love saving small trinkets in a chest I keep on a shelf, one of my fave things is a bday card I got on my 21st bday from my grandma that reads; "I don't know what's wrong with you. Love grandma".

I collect bones and teeth. I keep the teeth in a jar on a shelf.

Fave TV show?

Depends. Live action? Probably spn or hannibal. My fave anime is Shiki, and has been since 2013.

Fave Game?

LOZ breath of the wild and Pokemon legends arceus.

What kind of music do you like?

Yes. (lol jk)

My music taste is very broad. I really enjoy choir music and listen to OSTs a lot. I don't know if there's one specific genre I listen to more than others.

Other hobbies?

I like to read (Like, actual books) a lot. Most, okay all, of my books are non-fiction or text books. I'd like to read more fiction books, preferably horror books. I read carrie once and I really enjoyed that. My fave fiction book is se7en (yes, like the movie).

I also watch gaming videos a lot, mostly horror games. I occasionally play games myself too.

As a writer....

Background:

I started out on deviantart in 2012, moved to ffnet in 2013 and then to ao3 in 2014. I do have an ffnet acc still, but I don't use it.

Has your works changed since you started?

In some ways yes. Of course they have, it's been more than a decade.

In other ways? No. Many of my first works were.. Dark. Similar to what I write today honestly, just a lot more dramatic somehow.

I would consider transferring those first works to ao3 if I could delete my ffnet account, if only as a reminder of how far I've come in terms of quality.

First work?

My first still published one-shot is an Ao No Exorcist fic. My first multi-chaptered still published fic is a Homestuck fic. Both from 2013.

Fave thing to write?

Angst. I love grief, angst, tragedy and death. I love exposition. I love hurt. Dark works::)

Fave tropes?

Hmm... Platonic cuddling and intimacy. Forced cannibalism. Fuck or Die. Pain-sharing. Body-swapping. Secrets & Exposition. Codependency. Enemies to family/Enemies with benefits.

Oh yeah. I'd like to rewrite my first Aoex fic one day to be more tragic. I would also like to rewrite my GF fic 'Boiling Blood' to be less... blegh.

I've drawn fanart since I was a kid. I started doing digital art on mspaint in 2013, then got Ibispaint x on my phone in 2014.

Process?

Depends. Usually I just doodle on my phone. If it's a planned thing I will sketch it out on paper first in my sketchbook and take a pic. My go-to pen is the dip pen (bleed). I don't use a stylus.

It’s been really sweet watching you jump around everyone’s blogs today asking about their Pokémon teams so I absolutely HAVE to know - what does Rosalie’s team look like? ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

A/N: Originally I planned to make a trainer card with completely custom art (new Rosalie pic, all her pokemon, ect) but I've been a pretty sick irl so didn't have the time. :C Hoping I can revisit this idea on another occasion when I'm feeling better, though! 

Members of Rosalie's team were chosen based on a combination of aesthetic and practicality. Though Rosalie isn’t really the type of person to choose pokemon based solely on how they look- I am! And from the get go, it was important for me OOC to have pokemon that not only suited her visually, but could also reasonably survive life out in the desert and served a practical purpose in her yakgirl lifestyle LOL I also really wanted to avoid doubling up on types, but I kinda failed at that. (no regrets-)

Details on the pokemon under the cut below. Warning, it gets pretty long-

Rosarade - Male 

One of Rosalie's Partner Pokémon. Rosalie found him as a Budew when she was just a child. It became her constant companion through all the years of joy, heartbreak, and loneliness that Rosalie was forced to endure at her family's move. Overtime, Rosalie helped it grow from bud to flower- but it was only after Rosalie accepted who she was and resolved not to let the world change her into something she wasn’t that it evolved into its final form- Roserade. A calm, collected pokemon who has always kept it’s trainer grounded.

Ignatia the Rapidash - Female

Her primary mount. Years ago, she was captured as a wild Ponyta by Cooper. But despite the rancher’s best efforts, the Ponyta remained wild and untamed- refusing to yield to any human who tried to ride her. Rosalie was warned to stay away from the animal, and though the child was fascinated by the animal and her indomitable spirit- she obeyed. However, every sunset after the Ponyta’s capture, the young girl would sit on the fence surrounding Cooper’s property and play the animals music on her violin to help them fall asleep. Though the Ponyta remained skittish at first, Rosalie’s soothing voice and gentle melodies had a calming effect on the horse. Slowly, overtime, Rosalie managed to earn the young mares' trust and friendship. And it quickly became apparent that Rosalie was the only one the horse would ever let close.

However, their friendship ended tragically when Rosalie’s mother remarried and her family moved to Altara. Rosalie was forced to say goodbye to Sandrock and everyone in it- including the wild Ponyta. The horse pokemon didn’t understand why the little girl she had grown to love suddenly disappeared one day, and her behavior abruptly worsened.  As she grieved for Rosalie, she became temperamental, aggressive, and completely intolerant of other people. One early morning, Cooper rose to find his animals loose from their pen because of a hole in his fence. While he managed to recover his horses and cattle- he never managed to recapture the Ponyta. But for years after, travelers reported seeing the wild Ponyta, now a Rapidash, on the outskirts of civilization. Never fully returning to the wild where she belonged.

Almost as if she were waiting for something- or someone. 

Sometime after Rosalie’s return to Sandrock, Cooper shared the news of the Rapidash sightings with her in the hopes that Rosalie could do what everyone else could not- tame the desert flame. And so Rosalie set out to find her. Arriving at her destination, as the sun gradually fell over the horizon, Rosalie began to play her violin and sing some old, familiar tunes. Her song was carried far across the still, desert sands- and when the Rapidash heard it- she let out a loud neigh of recognition and came running towards its source- just as she had done as a foal. 

Rosalie half expected her old friend to have forgotten about her. But when the Rapidash reached her, it nuzzled her eagerly- obviously beyond happy to see her again after all these years. Though Rosalie had never had any desire to capture or tame this spirited mare- in the end, Ignatia chose to never be parted from her again when she intentionally bumped her nose against one of Rosalie’s empty pokeballs.

Nimbus the Dragonite - Male

Worried for her happiness, Rosalie’s step father gifted her Nimbus, then a Dratini, shortly after her move from Sandrock. Though her new pokemon didn’t quite succeed in making her forget the heartbreak of their departure, Rosalie was still overjoyed to have Nimbus. Raised him from Dratini, to Dragnair, to Dragonite. After returning to Sandrock, Nimbus became Rosalie’s primary means of transportation across vast stretches of desert. 

Duke the Granbull - Male 

Local goodboy, faithful guard dog, and eager cattle herder. Sleep’s at the foot of her bed at night.

The only Snubull born in a litter of Lillipup. Because of the need for herding dogs amongst the ranchers that called the Eufaula Desert home, all of its siblings were adopted fairly quickly. But because of his species reputation for their timidity- no one was willing to give the Snubull a chance. That is, until Rosalie came along. She readily accepted him for who he was and promised so long as he was happy it didn’t matter to her whether he was a guard dog or a lap dog- but if he was willing to give training a shot, so was she. Inspired by the faith his new owner had in him, the newly named Duke, aspired to be the goodest good boy Sandrock ever seen- and with her careful training, he quickly reached his goal and evolved into a Granbull. 

Beau the Milotic - Male 

In an age long past, festivities in Sandrock meant vendors from all over the free city would line main street with their booths. During one such occasion, as Rosalie was wandering main street and observing all the different games-  one booth in particular caught her attention. Despite her youth, she could tell that its owner had put it together rather hastily- and its drab, ramshackle appearance stuck out like a sore thumb amongst all its brightly colored counterparts. But it wasn’t the old, bug-eaten wood and faded fabric that had caught her attention. No, what caught her eye was what this booth was offering as a prize- a single Feebas floating all on its lonesome in a tank that was far too small for it. 

The sight of this pokemon and its unfortunate circumstances broke the young girl’s heart- and she immediately rushed over to the booth. She spent every last cent she had saved from her meager allowance trying to win the Feebas, but no matter how hard she tried- success always seemed just out of her reach. But even when she finally managed to hit the target at long last- it didn’t fall over. When it became obvious that the game was rigged, she protested the injustice- all her concern for Pokemon bubbling to the surface.  But the proprietor only shrugged- and smiled at her. 

Hot tears sprang to her eyes- but before they could fall, a hero arrived to save the day. Howlett. Having seen and overheard what just happened, the old monster hunter stepped forward to help Rosalie. Realizing this was not a man to be swindled, the cowardly proprietor allowed Howlett to win the Feebas, and Howlett then gifted it to relieved Rosalie. But the little girl knew that she couldn’t give the pokemon the home it deserved either, so asked Howlett to help her find a home for it somewhere out in the wild- where it could be free. He agreed, and a short time later, took Rosalie and Logan on a lengthy journey to a distant, but thriving oasis out in the desert. Where, after a tearful goodbye, Rosalie set her Feebas free.

Years later, after returning to Sandrock and learning of Howlett’s passing, Rosalie made the journey to that distant Oasis once again. This time in remembrance of Howlett, his son, and how much they had meant to her while growing up. But as she was overlooking the crystal blue water, Rosalie was surprised when a Milotic suddenly burst to the surface to confront her- obviously displeased by having its paradise disturbed by a human. But the aggression in its red eyes was quickly replaced with recognition- and Rosalie realized that this Milotic was the Feebas she had saved all those years ago.

The two reunited on happy terms and Rosalie would frequently visit Milotic. Eventually, like Ignatia before him, Beau chose to leave home and follow Rosalie.

Chance the Togekiss - Male

Born from an Egg bought by the Mysterious Man. Rosalie was skeptical when he claimed it came from a highly rare species of Pokemon- but she chose to purchase it anyway out of genuine concern over the health of pokemon inside. Chance hatched shortly after and thanks to their strong bond, she quickly raised him from Togepi to Togetic.

My love for Anthony might be bordering on too much, but given how noone else seems to give him love, I give more than enough to make up for it.
