#working on my first sweater#but i'm apparently a glutton for punishment because i decided to design my own#and WOW are there maths involved#and i'm not even calculating ease (since the measurements are off of an existing sweater i like rather than my body)#i'm working solely on principle and in spreadsheets#no wonder i've been procrastinating since april#but i have a clear path forward (that doesn't involve filling a ?? amount of space with a design that fits into it)#gotta calculate chest area and find the number of pattern repeats#fortunately that part of the body is interestingly shaped and therefore#i don't have to figure out how to get a 36 stitch repeat to fit exactly the way i want#the armpit areas will just get to be filler if they need to be#may have to figure it out for the circumference of the arms...ugh#(twill be probably just a twice repeat actually - but if it needs to be bigger i can just hide an extra diamond on the underarm)
