soft-rejected from 4/6 jobs i've applied to thus far (e.g. phone/zoom interview requests went out and i was not on the long list). i know i said i'd be willing to leave academia if this job cycle doesn't pan out but also can we not foreclose staying as an option entirely??

#welcome to academia #feels bad. feels gross.#it's like being the one kid who's picked last or not at all for team shit #i GET that the odds are approximately 1% for me #i'm up against 100-200 equally if not more qualified candidates for any given job posting #on some level it's just math. some of us WON'T get picked anywhere.#but it hurts. it stings. it feels like i'm Not Good Enough and i feel so so frustrated and sick over that.#now applying to more jobs - i've got approx. another 6 TT positions i can still apply for #but. yeah.#it sucks to feel like maybe maybe maybe my work isn't bad and my teaching isn't bad and then essentially be shut out from doing either
