3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

Porn with feelings definitely is one. Generally, because I've only ever written for Diego/Lila and they're a horny tactile pair, I've got a lot of furtive looks and needy kisses happening. Also, considering in canon, very little has stopped them from just being very in love with each other all the time, even when inconvenient, and being pretty open about it, I like to throw a wrench in in my fic and make them suffer while being in love. ( •̀ᴗ•́ )

4. What detail in The Night me and Your Mama met are you really proud of?

In the second to last chapter Diego and Lila have a neighbourhood BBQ going on and it’s all very domestic and nice but it’s told from Lila’s POV (3rd person, but ykwim) and she is at the same time treating the whole thing like a spy operation, excelling at normie conversation, scoffing at clichés like housewives getting off while sitting on the washing machine, while at the same time (unreliable pov character that she is) she’s actually really in to all of it. She loves watching Diego being neighbourhood dad, and how much fun their kid is having (when she’s not upset about toppled ice-cream), actually getting off on top of the washing machine (okay, this one might be helped by the fact that Diego is there XP). And it’s just, I enjoy sticking to these character traits that I assume about them, for instance Lila being constantly unsure about whether she’s cut out for normal life, but not going route one with them.

5. What do you wish someone would ask you about Kiss with a Fist? Answer it now!

I think I’d like to be asked some variation on whether I think they’re doing okay.

So, in Kiss with a fist, LIla’s having a bad day and then comes in to Diego’s gym to do a self defense class, some things go wrong her frustration spikes and after Diego is being a bit of a dick they end up having an actually hand to hand combat fight which ends with them making out and more. At this point they have an established relationship and I wrote this after s2.

And my answer to are they doing okay here, despite the fact that Lila lets out her frustration in a fight with Diego is, yeah, I think they’re doing okay and I think it’s the same thing the writers tapped into with Lila slapping Diego whenever she’s both frustrated with and overwhelmed with how much she loves him, and why I think Diego doesn’t just roll with it but sort of understands what she’s trying and failing to communicate (maybe a little badly, but going off of every single one of Diego’s reactions post initial slap in s2, he really, really doesn’t mind, more like the opposite). (That or she’s experiencing cute aggression XP)

Do they have unconventional methods? Yeah, are they maybe bad communicators if anyone else was involved in this thing? Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is one of many reasons why Diego and Patch couldn’t work out. Is it strangely perfect for them and are they soulmates? Weirdly, yes.

6. What’s one fact about the universe of the Space AU that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself?

Lol, you don’t understand what a mediocre writer I am XD

In the same way I can’t visualise, I also don’t really do much world building beyond what I actually write down. If you were to go through that automatic star treck-y sliding door, you’d very quickly realise you’re on a sound stage. Ignore the wires holding Lila up as she spins around in zero G and all that XD.

But there is a detail I only ever implied and that is that in this universe where AI Robots with a Civil Rights movement exist, Diego was totally also a mama’s boy for Robot Mom, but something happened to her and she’s no longer around (like, I’m not being vague or coy, I have not fleshed out what happened to her, but this Diego also lost his Robot Mommy and is still sad about it).

So, I kind of ended up making a Moominvalley AU with TLoZ: the Wind Waker. (I'm not kidding I literally have the most important plot points figured it out)

Provisional name of the AU til I can think of something better: Moomintroll and the Guardian of Spring (I suck at names I know)

Okay so the story is almost the same as the game, I said almost cause I made some slight (or major) changes.

I'm just gonna drop what I have in regards of the characters and some small things of the story cause explaining the whole story would make this the size of a Bible.

-Moomin is the main hero, and he gets involved in one crazy adventure after Snorkmaiden is kidnapped by a giant bird that was actually aiming for Snufkin. He really doesn't want to fight or kill anyone, but slowly learns that in these circumstances there's no other option (Little My is to be thanked for this).

-Little My tags along, even though she was told she couldn't come. She is mostly the voice of reason.

-Joxter, Hodgkins and Muddler are the pirate crew, though they not exactly pirates, they're just travelers, that have to be constantly moving for Snufkin's safety (will explain that later)

-The Lady of the Cold is the main villain (her design will be the one I made a long time ago <this one>), she basically is been kidnapping (or well the giant bird does) down any creature that has some similarities with Mumriks, for she's looking for the one who is the reincarnation of the Guardian of Spring (I also explain that later), that way she can kill him and cover the land in an eternal winter and no one would stop her.

-Snufkin has an important role here, for he is the reincarnation of the Guardian of Spring, the thing is, he doesn't remember. A long time ago when he was just a little kid (he was more or less aware of his real identity/role), the Lady of the Cold attacked the island his family lived on, apparently she got word that the new GoS (got tired of writing the whole name) was there. After that, it was decided that Snufkin's memories (and of everyone in the island who knew who he really was except for Joxter, who was given the task of keeping the boy safe) had to be erased to protect himself and others, and that he must be in constant movement so that witch can't track him down easily. Also this is why Joxter is overprotective of his son. (Oh and given who Snufkin is, he can do magic with his Harmonica, basically when he plays especific tunes with a certain purpose in mind something happens) It was also established that he would get his memories back once he was truly ready to fulfill his destiny, which would be defeating the Lady of the Cold once and for all (killing her)

-The Hobgoblin was responsible of erasing Snufkin's memories and is the only one that can make him remember everything.

-Moomin and Snufkin slowly fall in love with each other during this whole craziness (after he gets his memories back, he sticks up with Moomin, cause now that the Lady of the Cold is aware he is the Guardian, he can't be on his own), they start bonding when they are heading out to rescue Snorkmaiden at the beginning (said first attempt did not turned out well)

-Sniff is also part of this mess, though he only stays back and watches over the ship, the only reason they let him stay is cause he knows how to cook and his food is really delicious. He lived on a island full of merchants (Windfall Island, still haven't chosen a new name) with his mother Fuzzy (they came with the Oshun Oxtra crew to find a new place to live, Muddler in the end decided to stick up with Joxter and Hodgkins cause he felt they needed their help more, given they had to look after Snufkin and all that).

-The ghost/spirit of the "old" guardian of Spring is the one who guides Moomin and tells him what he has to do in order to save Snorkmaiden (not sure how that even works, but I think the spiritual part of the Guardian is separated from Snufkin when the boy's memories were erased and practically is a different entity)

Now in regards of the story:

-The seasons were looked over by a guardian spirit, but the balance was broken by the Lady of the Cold, who looked over winter, she was just sick of winter being such a disliked season by everyone, so she made winter last longer than what it was meant to, eventually the Guardian of Spring fought against her and sealed her away, though he ended with some fatal wounds that eventually killed him (he is only immortal, yet he can be killed). Hundreds of years later, the witch escapes from her prison and tries to cover the world in an eternal winter once more.

-The land below the sea is known as the forgotten land (I suck at names) and the reason why it was flooded, is because the damage that the Lady of the Cold did to it by making Winter last longer couldn't be fixed (the Guardian try to restore it with his powers, but nothing happened). The existance of such land is considered a mere myth nowadays.

Okay I have more stuff in regards of the story but these are the most important points of the lore xd.

Man this was super long, but I had fun making this, honestly I feel tempted to write a fic of this AU, I practically have the whole story planned out in my mind (or at least the key points)

Ok lol more headcanon filler episode stuff

Despite the fact that Kailah openly believes in ghosts and has admitted to Dib that she's had a few encounters with them, she's actually terrified of ghosts. But she's too embarrassed to admit it so she keeps trying to come up with excuses on why she can't go ghost hunting with him: "my parents don't like me being out too late" type stuff

Chomp is pretty neutral about ghosts and since they know the worse thing a ghost can do is throw something, they mostly just sit back and watch when Dib does eventually trick her into going to a real haunted house. And honestly, they laugh at Kailah's over the top reactions the same way one would laugh post jump scare at a fake haunted house attraction with the actors and such

Zim can see and hear ghosts, thanks to his Superior Irken Senses...but he doesn't believe they're real??? So he just, hears and sees these floating invisible people and throws up such a thick wall of denial that the others don't realize anything is amiss with him XD

If Gaz decides to tag along, she just finds a quiet place to sit and play her game the whole time, snickering anytime she hears Kailah let out a scream from another room. Depending on how the ghost hunting is going, Chomp may just sit and watch Gaz play, pretty much ignoring any ghost shenanigans

Dib expresses that he wants to go see the loch ness monster but Zim refuses to fly them all the way there when he learns that Scotland is eternally rainy. So Kailah suggests going to Vermont where Champ is in lake Champlain, Zim only agrees after Kailah tells him about Maple sugar, and the Irken basically becomes addicted to the stuff after his first taste. It gets to the point that he practically drags the kids back to Vermont just about every weekend so he can get more. If the weather's nice, they'll end up playing in the lake for a few hours while Zim enjoys his sugary goodness (seriously, if you've never had it, maple sugar is sooo good! It's like; almost the consistency of kinnetic sand (play sand) and tastes like super sugary maple syrup)

I think it'd be fun if they rented a boat and went tubing, with Zim driving and trying his best to make the kids fall into the water. I can easily image Zim laughing for a good 2 minutes every time one of the humans fall off the tube. Though, Chomp would probably be the one to actually steer the boat back around to go pick the kids up so they can have another round and not be left stranded in the middle of the lake lol

If I ever get them out to space, Zim going to need those child leashes for both the kids cause they'd run off in separate directions the first chance they get to explore. Dib would be all over the alien tech, trying to figure out how it works and struggling with the language barrier as he tries to bargain and buy what he thinks is a really high tech piece of equipment but basically equates to a backscratcher. And Kailah would literally try to pet and befriend every alien species to the point that Zim and Chomp would probably have to get in a fight with said alien to keep the girl from being slaughtered, and she'd be off to the next one without even noticing

Zim: *calls Dib's head big for the dozenth time*

Dib: my head's not big!

Kailah: yeah, it's not big Zim. It's just the way his hair is. I'm sure if he styled it differently his ears wouldn't stick out as much and it'd be easier to tell that he has a normal size/shaped head

Dib: *soul crushed even further than ever before*

Gaz and Zim: *laughing at Dib's pain while Kailah tries and fails to correct her mistake*

Zim: *constantly cursing in front of 12 year olds*

Dib: *repeats word in front of his dad*

Membrane: *beats Zim up and washes Dib's mouth with soap*

I've said this one before but:

Dib and Kailah like to send pictures of 7+ foot tall people to Red and Purple with really bad meme font that equates to "out Tallests are Taller than you so stay away" but sometimes they'll also mail them sugary sweets with a note like "you wish yours were as good as ours"

When Kailah calls Zim a bug she means it as a compliment, but when Dib does it it's an insult, and it takes Zim WAY to long to be able to tell the difference

Gaz will sometimes steal GIR so she can have someone to play Minecraft with, because for some reason GIR is a master builder in that game, but at the same time he doesn't understand that enemies are a thing so he's constantly dieing, and Gaz keeps stealing all his dropped loot

The Computer will answer questions and take requests from the kids as long as they ask nicely, much to Zim's chargrin

Kailah and Dib basically uses it as a living Siri/Alexa (asking it random questions about Earth that they could just as easily Google) while if Gaz ever interacts with it it's to play really loud metal music to annoy Zim or to download an alien game into the holo-room so she can play a huge VR type game. Zim keeps screaming at it to stop obeying the hyumans, but because they keep using "please" and "thank you" it ignores Zim

I think it'd be fun to have the skool do a field trip to Membrane Labs, not exactly sure what type of shenanigans they could all get up to there, but I'm sure something would catch fire or explode

I really wish I was confident enough to write the whole Space Australia/fish out of water type story line. Because I feel we could have a lot of fun with Dib and Kailah running around and doing what human children do (pet random animals, explore caves without flashlights, dare each other to summon a ghost) meanwhile Zim's just there, trying to figure out what on Irk a "leprechaun" is, and what it has to do with light refracting off water droplets. All the while, also trying to keep these two smeets alive and out of trouble while Chomp just kinda watches from the side lines cause "what are ya gonna do? That's just how kids are. If they want to jump off a cliff and cannonball into a lake they're welcome to do so as long as it's safe"

I just... really want Irken "how did I end up becoming the babysitter for these crazy alien smeets" Zim as he struggles to rescue the kids from a rogue Sasquatch or something XD is that too much to ask? (Probably, cause I'm the author and I don't think that's where this story is going to end up heading 😅 no matter how much my heart wishes it)
