the whiplash of hearing 'fa er jia' and going '....wait that's varka'
god I love playing genshin in chinese with chinese subtitles as someone who can only somewhat understand chinese, Eula starts speaking in her Lawrence clan way and all of a sudden I truly have no idea what she's saying
#the translation consideration of the names........the struggle of the 'v' sound#also the 'r' sounds i guess. not that there isn't an 'r' sound in chinese but in names it tends to be transliterated into an 'l' sound#the 'jia' was a surprise too i expected them to use a k sound but i guess not#i'm sure there's a lot of consideration and mybe some rules that goes into name transliterations i just don't know them#and instead go :0 when it transliterates into something different from english#personal //#also sara (the mondstadt resturant owner waitress person) gets transliterated into 'sa la' which. makes sense.#but also. i thought they were talking about salad bc salad is a loan word in chinese into 'sa la' as well skldhf#(not the same hanzi characters though)
