every day of my life i'm like "i should re-read piranesi again" and then i'm like "i should re-read annihilation again" i guess my preferred genre is just relatively short novels that make me feel some type of way about the scientific method and also intertidal zones.

#wait also. identity and memory. big classic favourite themes if i'm being honest!#especially the specific trope where somebody comes back wrong #in the sense that they're like a copy of another person who existed before #or a clone. or technically the same person but they had their memories wiped so they feel like they're someone different.#characters who occupy the space of a different person who the people around them once knew. but they aren't that person.#i'm sure i've made this post before but i really want to put piranesi and ghost bird in a terrarium together and see what happens #they might get along? i can't decide if ghost bird would find piranesi endearing or annoying.
