Genuine question for those of you who say that you want the dissolution of all states. What do you envision in place of states in terms of:

Logistics (i.e. making sure every area has the basic resources it needs in order to function and people not die for lack of water, food, fuel, medical supplies, etc.) Like not assigning these things necessarily but literally just getting them to various far-flung places.

Security (how do you prevent people from outside the area coming in and taking everything including resources, land, people, etc.) How do you prevent authoritarian groups coming in and occupying your formerly peaceful, non-hierarchical society?

Supporting people outside of affinity networks or within rigid social systems (a lot of disabled people, queer people, and other people on the social, familial, and religious outs are gonna die without some kind of appropriate systems in place to meet these needs.)

Addressing major environmental challenges that require cooperation over vast areas of land, if not global cooperation.

Rule of law, especially when it comes to human rights, freedom of movement, freedom of religion/culture, dispute resolution between governing bodies of whatever variety that doesn't involve war, etc. but also just like, basic laws governing interpersonal relationships (preventing rape, murder, theft, etc. and addressing the aftermath of those things in a humane, just way.)

Peaceful transition from states to whatever it is you imagine taking their place, without hemorrhaging lives from the most vulnerable populations.

And like, there's more that I'm sure I'd have questions about too, but these concerns are so basic that I just cannot continue the conversation without knowing what the plan is for these essential tenets of an organized society.

Don't get me wrong: I don't love states and wish we had a better system too. I am also painfully aware that states are failing many if not most of these all the time. However, what I would need to know is how what you are proposing is better than trying to improve what currently exists and isn't going to come at the cost of catastrophic loss of human life, human cultures, animal life, and land destruction. And not in a pie-in-the-sky way, a realpolitik way.

I am genuinely sad, often, about coming or returning late to fandoms that actually spark this much joy in my heart (where was I before? I don't know!) Now I'm here, but seems like half of the fandom is not having a great time..

Of course I like it here and enjoy the fandom experience, but it's hard not to see people who are upset about the ending of s5 and the current situation (who are not generally haters) - which I understand and empathize with, otherwise I wouldn't have been sad about it. Some people who have contributed to this fandom and to whom I owe such a great time I've been having, while catching up on what was posted during past few years, now aren't that happy here.

Maybe for some it'll change again? I guess what's left for me is to wait and see. I have faith in the show, I think it'll continue being a good story, and I'm patient and count on a satisfying resolution (knowing ml I'm prepared to really wait, haha), but I also get it when people say it's just not the same anymore, because yes, it isn't fully - and I'm okay with it, I just. sigh. I just wish everyone had fun. Maybe i shouldn't care so much, but i do because i love you 😔

Whether he survived this or not was fairly irrelevant at this point. Managing to spot and grab his youngest brother was all that mattered, even if flying so low as to be in range of the weapons the triarchy had brought. Spears aimed for him, for Vermax, arrows that flew from ship to ship. Some struck, most missed. It mattered very little - there was too much adrenaline coursing through his body for him to really register all of the injuries. Mostly, he was keeping Viserys clutched to his chest, taking the arrows himself that were aimed for all of them. One spear, he had seen, had struck Vermax, shortly after grabbing his brother, and it was enough to get them out of there. The dragon seemed ready enough to agree, turning them back the short flight to Dragonstone.

Two hours back to Dragonstone from the Gullet, slower perhaps with the injury in the dragon, though the wings beat quickly. The longest two hours of his life, perhaps, because he had to remain awake, holding tight to his brother, ensuring Viserys did not slip, considering only one of them was both strapped to the saddle and now pinned to it with a luckily (or in his case, the opposite) thrown spear. Words of reassurance attempt to quell his brother's tearful questions and words. 'I'm fine, I'll be fine.' Constantly, as though Viserys is unaware of his injuries - he had been there when the arrows had struck Jacaerys' shoulder and back, the spear in his leg - trying to keep both his brother assuaged and himself alert.

Leaving had been against his mother's orders, and several people had tried to stop him on his venture to the dragonmont. He can hardly remember the guards he stormed past, though he can remember the words he said to the only one who did attempt to stop him. In his rush to get out of Dragonstone, there was probably only one person who would have physically been able to stop him, and so he might have regretted what he said - 'you are not my ruler, nor are you my father. let me go' - but it had had it's desired effect. Given that he was already defying his mother's, and therefore his ruler's orders, no one else's would have ceased his efforts, and he was certain that sending the dragonseeds after him had been to ensure his survival.

That's the thought that crashes through his mind at the same moment Vermax lands, skids actually, across the cliffs, the only time in Jace's memory that he can recall the beast not having a smooth landing. It doesn't matter, landing is the most important part, and he can hear the voices, though his eyes are closed, clinging to his brother, knowing this part will be difficult. Vermax has never liked anyone but him, snapping at most, already hissing and letting out tufts of smoke. He has to stay awake long enough to get Viserys down to safety, which means long enough for someone to reach them, which means keeping Vermax calm.

There are words, commands, High Valyrian that comes as naturally to him as the common tongue, as breathing does, but even that is difficult with arrows protruding from his shoulder, his back, the pain of landing increasing the slight of the injuries. "Dohaeris, Vermax, lykirī." ('Obey me Vermax, calm down'). It's all he can think to say, over and over, and he is not sure it will help, is not sure who will have seen them arrive, who will try to approach a clearly angry dragon. His priority is getting Viserys down to anyone safely - that's all he set out to do in the first place.

The whole like smarmy sarcastic tone that tumblr users love to take when mocking a post they dislike can be a little grating even when its well deserved, but the annoyance it causes me gets downright skull splitting when the mockery comes from a position of brutally misreading/missing the point of said post. Like something about the arrogance of taking such a tone combined with the stupidity of making such "criticisms" really fucking annoys me like come on do you not hear yourself?
