What are the reader's other duties, in addition to making illustrations? 

Will Knight!Noble!Finn reappear ? Will there be Marcus ? 😀

oh hi there @beardedladyqueen -- I mean, anonymous-- what fabulous glasses you have! Hehe

So about twice or three times a week (depending on the weather), Reader will go into town and talk to the townspeople, checking in on them and hearing out their grievances and just generally making them feel heard and cared for by her family. She'll also handle matters that are too petty and small scale for her parents to handle, like a farmer's fence being broken and some of their chickens escaping. She'll send someone to help out in cases like that.

She also has her education, which includes history, math, etiquette, politics, science, religion, embroidery, music, diplomatic relations, etc. Her parents want her to be a well-rounded, worldly person, but they also definitely want to make her into good wife material lol. The illustrations she makes are for her father's scribes, who write out books by hand. She also travels once or twice a year to other cities to learn what the world is like outside of her father's lands.

Fun fact: her favorite subject is botany because as a kid, she used to want to run away. She did once but ran out of food and it was too cold outdoors lol. Then she realized she didn't know anything about surviving out in the wilderness and became envious of trees, because the only things they need to survive are fresh air, rain, and sunshine. They don't even need to move around to get it, as long as they've planted roots in a good place. This grew into a general interest in plants, especially flowers. As an adult she's much more grateful and content with her current life.

As for Finn and Marcus, it's unlikely they'll show up in the fic but I also don't want to say "never". I never want to close the door on any writing ideas because you never know where the writing juice will take you haha.
