I don't know if it's my HDD (all monitoring software and diagnostics give it a clean bill of health) or perhaps my SATA cable failing, but I had another one of those terrifying DRIVE NOT FOUND errors again this morning. I was able to fix it and get my PC working again, but two times is a coincidence and three times is a pattern, so I'm taking this as a Sign that I'd better get my shit together. I went ahead and ordered an SSD as well as some PC-specific cleaning supplies since my house is some kind of fucking dust mite nirvana. It'll all be arriving in about a week.

Until then, I'm going to be as delicate as I can with my computer. I have all my files backed up on an XHD so I'm not worried about data loss, but if my internal HD dies it means I either have to 1) hope it's not completely dead so I can clone it and then migrate it onto my new disk, or 2) buy a new OS and download/reinstall all my programs from scratch. Which would normally be immensely satisfying, but not when I'm my own client. Both options are extremely fucking unpleasant, but they're worst case scenarios, and I don't think I'm at "worst" just yet. I'd say "moderately troubling".

tl;dr Computer ailing, cure on the way, fan creations suspended until I get this situation resolved 😔
