Thinking about how Gem's tasks have progressed through this season.

S1: Gem has to get another player to trust her.

S3: Gem is the one who has to open the End portal. (Bdubs has to kill the dragon later. Both are hard tasks given to them as punishment from the secret keeper. Both are very blunt and abrupt with their wording.)

S4: Gem has to lie to the whole server.

S5: She's pitted against another player in a race that only one of them can succeed in.

S6: She has to lie to everyone AGAIN. The task is almost identical to the one before, only with a shorter time frame.

S7: Gem gets the task that almost kills the whole server. Specifically named the boogeyman CURSE. She has no choice but to carry out the demands of the secret keeper.

Thinking about how she came into this series knowing exactly what it demanded of her and was ready to deliver exactly that. The way that her tasks escalate, the way they seem to revolve around the building of trust and then breaking it, then she receives and carries out tasks that shape the very nature of the game

Almost as if... Someone is testing her.
