I just remembered that I also pretty much finished the vast majority of Chapter 17 sometime ago. So I don't just have Chapter 16 more or less finished, I have Chapter 17, as well. And I have a couple of other sparce parts of Day 2 worked on/in progress, as well. I think the hardest part I'm dealing with right now is actually the whole lorry driver situation, with going around and talking to the different lorry drivers.
In other news, I've officially published Chapter 1 of A Toast to the Pigs on Wattpad.
I hold no delusions that it'll see a lot of traffic, but, well. At least now there's 11 Disco Elysium fanfics on the website--unless Wattpad decides to shadowban it, which from what I've googled, is entirely possible. Currently it's labeled mature for users who are 18+ and I am, of course, going out of my way to tag any triggers or sensitive content at the beginning of each chapter. I doubt that Wattpad will care about that, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets shadowbanned because of those trigger warnings by the automatic AI detection system. However, I am trying to decide how I ought to go about the topic of ASL on the website, since I'm not sure if Wattpad allows you to attach external links, which I'd been using as referential material.
Another thing to note is that I would like to discuss the topic of including fanart for A Toast to the Pigs within the chapters themself, with each piece of fanart shown where each scene happens with proper credit. I'll bring the topic up in the fic itself whenever I post Chapter 16, because I would like to know for certain that I have the artists' permission and bringing it up from the fic itself seems to be the most convenient way of doing it without the awkward anxiety of... socialization...
Not everybody who's posted fanart follows me on Tumblr, after all, and making a post about it's not unlikely to get completely missed. But Toast being updated is, like, the Main Thing, so it makes sense in my brain to do so that way. Many more people read Toast and don't follow me on Tumblr.
That's the update today, I think. Good luck, have fun, live, laugh, love, all that jazz.
#disco elysium#a toast to the pigs#kim kitsuragi#harry du bois#fanfiction#fanart#wattpad#sure throw those in there too#i put way more detail into the cover art than strictly necessary#i don't think you can even read the quote in the bottom-right#but well. it's there now. for those who are in the know(tm)#i'm not really even entirely happy with this but i think it's fine enough and it's wattpad. how serious do i really need to take it#i've already drawn a whole-ass cover art

Dressing for the Cloudcall
Leona Kingscholar x fem!Reader, pre-relationship
Word count: 4680 (dialogue heavy to start, stick with it, I find a rhythm in there somewhere)
Category: one-shot, fluff, angst if you squint really really hard
Leona's family is sneaky and knows him very well, and you get roped into some Cloudcalling dress up. And maybe Leona is into that.
I loved Cloudcalling on the Savanna but I was a little disappointed we didn’t get even a hinted outfit, and this idea has been bouncing around in my little walnut brain for MONTHS and it finally spilled out in the span of like two hours. Tried to keep Yuu ambiguous, female, hair long enough to braid and put into a bun, and she’s shorter than Falena’s wife. Your Yuu is six feet tall? Cool, Falena’s wife is taller 👏AS👏SHE👏SHOULD👏BE. Reading back, I think I have a crush on my own version of Falena’s wife, as I should. I just imagined the most beautiful woman I could.
Kifaji had to step away to take a phone call while everyone was checking out the food stalls and Leona almost looked grateful to see his back disappearing into the crowd as he handed you one of the baobab hibiscus teas. You thanked him quietly before sipping on the drink, as refreshing as promised. Grim was just about to pull everyone over to a meat vendor-- surprise surprise-- when Kifaji returned, a sly looking smile on his face.
"What's got you so happy, ya old bird?" Leona huffed as Grim drooled over the meat.
"My apologies, but I need to borrow Miss Yuu for awhile." Kifaji said simply, turning his ominous smile to you.
"What for?" Leona practically growled, putting a hand on your shoulder before you could even think to step away from the group.
"On such short notice, we could not procure an outfit for her." Kifaji explained, folding his hands behind his back. "I, however, did not want her to feel left out, so I made arrangements which are now ready. I will return her at your next destination."
"It's fine, Leona." You tried to assure him, patting his hand gently. "I do feel a little left out of the fun."
Leona clicked his tongue in annoyance before releasing your shoulder and crossing his arms.
"We're headed to Ivory Springs after this. Do not be late." He directed the command at Kifaji rather than you.
"B-But, Yuu look at this! And these!" Grim was actually drooling over the meat in the stall, turning back to you with tears in his eyes that practically begged you to let him stay.
You sighed heavily and shook your head. "Vil, can you keep Grim out of trouble for me? I won't be long."
"Of course." Vil nodded, glancing down at the direbeast as he cheered and danced around in a little circle. "I'll try my best to not let him eat through Leona's entire fortune."
"Good enough for me." You chuckled before turning to Kifaji, who smiled again and held an arm out for you to lead the way out of the markets.
You walked side by side with Kifaji to the entrance of the market, only for him to place a hand on your upper back to direct you towards a waiting black car just up the street. As you approached, a beastwoman in full guard regalia opened the back door for you to enter. You thanked her quietly before stepping into the blissfully air conditioned car, Kifaji getting in on the other side.
"It's not that far to the hotel," you chuckled as the driver reentered the car, "and I'm not as prone to heatstroke as Jack is."
"Oh, we aren't going to the hotel." Kifaji said, as if just remembering he "forgot" to tell you about it.
"Oh?"
There was a minute of silence as he didn't answer your unspoken question. A few turns through the city, he broke it, turning to you with a pleasant smile.
"Tell me, Yuu, what is the nature of your relationship with Prince Leona?"
You were shocked for a moment at the bluntness of the question. "Is this because I'm the only girl? Because I can assure you, we're all friends--"
"My apologies, that isn't what I meant." He cut you off with a small chuckle and a lift of his hand. "If you'd humor me?"
"I mean... we're friends? Friendly, at least." You explained, wringing your hands in your lap. "He's helped me out of a few tough spots, I've helped him. We hang out on occasion. He's nice, I dunno." You wouldn't dare say it out loud, especially to the chamberlain, but you sometimes secretly wished there was more there.
He gave you a warm smile, much like a father would give to a daughter talking about her crush. "I see. As you well know, I've seen to Leona since the day he was born, and I haven't seen him so... protective of someone since... well, ever. That boy has never exactly been friendly, let alone "nice" to just about anyone since his mother passed. It's refreshing to see."
You could feel your face getting hotter with each word the chamberlain said. You desperately wanted the subject to change. "S-So, if we aren't going to the hotel, where are we going?"
"The Royal Palace." Kifaji said casually, as if you were on your way to some unnamed park.
"What?! Why?"
"As I said, I made arrangements for your outfit. You need to look the part to represent your team!" He said, another sly smile on his face as he pumped his fist in front of him in an imitation cheer. "And, I regret to say, you stick out like a sore thumb among those boys."
"But-- I-I thought-- we--"
"And here we are. A short drive, is it not? The walk would have been significantly longer."
You looked out the window at the palace, a grand stone building at the top of the hill. It almost looked as if it were carved out of the rock itself. You were startled out of your thoughts as the driver opened your door for you again, the chamberlain outside waiting to give you a hand out. You thanked them both as you took the offered hand and stepped out, following Kifaji closely as he walked.
"So, uh... just pop in, change clothes, and head back down to the market, yeah?" You asked nervously as you glanced at the guards you passed by, feeling eyes on your back.
"Just so." Kifaji assured you, another sly smile as he stopped at a large set of doors already opened, swinging a hand out for you to go first.
You weren't sure what was about to happen. Maybe you'd be thrown in a dungeon for fraternizing with their prince, or maybe they meant to keep you here until Leona himself came to find you, or--
"There she is!" A booming and excited voice came from across the room as you entered, startling you to turn and look.
A mound of long ginger hair twisted into braids was running up to greet you, perched atop a muscle-bound mountain of a man. He was dressed similarly to Leona, but wearing white instead of black, still adorned in gold, an enormous smile on his face. The guards at the door stood at attention as he got to your side of the room, clasping your hand quickly in a firm and enthusiastic handshake.
"You must be the girl Kifaji told me so much about!" He beamed at you, reminding you so much of Kalim in this moment. Wait.
"So much?" You parroted, looking at Kifaji, who simply shrugged.
"Oh, you must tell me how you got Leona to be so... docile? That isn't the right word. He listens to you?! Insane!" The man rambled, still holding onto your hand. "You must tell me everything!"
"Falena, you'll scare the poor girl." Another voice rang out from the other side of the room.
The man, Falena, finally released your hand and turned to see the woman walking towards you. She was elegant and gorgeous and so poised, dressed in similar colors and patterns to her husband, also adorned in gold. You suddenly felt very intimidated as you finally realized just where you were standing.
"Oh, but my love," Falena sighed, still smiling, "think of everything we could learn! What's Leona like at school, anyhow?"
"H-He, uh..." you hesitated as the woman joined her husband’s side. It probably wasn't a good idea to tell them exactly how he was, and it wasn't a good idea to lie. Rock and a hard place. "He's certainly there."
Falena let out a booming laugh at this, his wife joining in with a laugh that sounded like bells in the large chamber.
"We know of Leona's troubles at school." She assured you, holding out a hand to shake. "I am Shani, and I'm sure my husband, Falena, did not introduce himself before launching into his questioning."
"I'm Yuu," you said, gently grabbing her hand and shaking it, "a pleasure."
"Likewise." She smiled warmly at you as you both retracted your hands. "Kifaji has asked me to dress you for the occasion."
"The festival?"
"Leona brought a girl home!" Falena cut in, the smile surely cemented on his face at this point. "A sign things are turning around for my little brother, to be sure!"
"O-Oh! No, wait, I'm--" You practically choked on your words trying to get them out fast enough, feeling your face burning again, "Leona and I aren't a couple!"
"I know! But everything Kifaji told us over the phone just makes it all the more interesting!" He gushed grabbing your shoulders. "Forgive me for being forward, but you smell like him! You must be together often!"
"I-I just keep watch while he naps, it's not like we--"
"Falena. You are making her nervous." Shani said sharply, trying to hide her amused smile as she swatted his hands off you and looped her arm into yours. "Come, we should get you into something else before Leona comes looking for you."
She didn't wait for a response before pulling you off towards the door she came through. You glanced back to Kifaji and Falena, seeing them both smiling at you, though Kifaji's looked nefarious. You faced forward again, looking up at the glamorous woman holding your arm, still amazed that you'd just met the crown prince and princess. Shani led you down the hall and into a large bedroom, turning quickly into a nearly equally large closet. Gorgeous outfits-- if you were to judge just based on the fabric-- lined the walls on either side, the far wall was large, open windows looking over the expanse of the savanna, and the wall behind was adorned with large mirrors. You couldn't help but be impressed as Shani practically floated across the room and picked up a dress that was already waiting on a chair and held it up for you.
"I hope you don't mind, I already picked something out for you." She explained as she approached. "Don't worry about the length, we can work with it however we need. This is going home with you."
"What? No, I couldn't." You said quickly as she deposited the dress in your hands.
"Do you see where we are right now? You absolutely can." She laughed, gesturing to the lines of clothes. "Go ahead and get changed, I'll be right outside, just let me know when you're ready."
Her nose scrunched up adorably in her excitement as she smiled even wider at your for a moment, her hands clapping under her chin once before she exited the room, closing the door behind her. Alone, you sighed at the absolute whirlwind you'd just gone through. You turned to the large mirrors on the closest wall and held the dress up to your body. It would definitely be long, but Shani was a tall woman who seemed to like wearing heels, so you weren't terribly surprised. Resigned to your fate, you began to change out of your current outfit. The dress had very thin straps, so your sports bra would have to go. Once actually in the dress, it fit remarkably well, other than the length. The thin straps spread down into a V neck and stretched to the skirt in the back, the skirt itself starting a little below the bust, similar to a halter top. You couldn't help but notice the patterns on the fabric coordinated to Leona's cloak, bright orange and black not helping the case. You folded your clothes into a neat pile in front of the mirror, honestly a little relieved how well the dress held up to movement, no risk of spilling out the sides or front when lifting your arms or bending over.
"Shani? I'm ready." You called to the door, hiking the skirt up to walk over.
She entered the room again with an excited smile, looking you up and down as you stood there.
"You are definitely shorter than me." She laughed as you let the skirt go, a few inches of fabric bundling up at your feet. "But we can fix that, easy. Ten minutes. First!" She walked over to a chest of drawers, pulling off a length of fabric she'd set on top. "Do you know how to wrap your hair? Keep it off your neck and out of your eyes."
"I do not." You shook your head prompting her to wave you off.
"I can teach you, it's very easy." She smiled, joining you at the mirror again.
She turned you to face the mirror, standing behind you and draping the fabric over your shoulders. She undid the braid your hair was always in, gently combing the knots out of your hair with her fingers.
"I always used to do this with my little sisters." She explained softly as she styled your hair to the top of your head in a large bun. "I love Cheka with all my heart and soul, but I do so hope we have a little girl some day, I miss having girls around to dress up with and do hair and everything."
"What, Cheka doesn't let you do his hair?" You smiled at her in the mirror as she began wrapping the scarf, making sure you were carefully watching her steps.
She laughed brightly. "He does! But as he gets older he may not. Plus, there isn’t exactly a ton of hair to work with, he prefers to keep it short."
"No, I get what you mean though." You said fondly. "I used to have my mom do my hair all the time, but she was always there to fix it when I eventually took it out and complained about it being in my face."
"Where are you from, by the way?"
Your face fell at the question. "It doesn't really matter. Crowley doesn't seem like he's able to send me back anyhow."
Shani looked like she was about to press further, but stopped herself. "There, all done." She said with another warm smile as she smoothed out some of the wrinkles in the turban style she'd done. "Not half bad, if I do say so myself."
"It looks great, thank you." You were smiling again, not pointing out the, again, same fabric Leona had on his scarf. Maybe it was a common pattern? You somehow doubted it.
"Now, I have a few accessories for you to tie it all together." She explained, walking over to a shelf opposite the chest of drawers. "I will have you put these on to see how they look, then you give me the dress and I will hem the bottom up for you."
"Thank you for this, Shani." You said sincerely, turning to look at her with a warm smile. "You really didn't have to go to these lengths."
"Nonsense, a friend of Leona's is a friend of ours." She assured you. "We want to make sure you enjoy your first time to the Sunset Savanna to the fullest."
..
Leona and the others had arrived at the palace, Leona planning to swipe a car to avoid having to take Kifaji with them. However, to his surprise, Kifaji was already outside speaking with one of the guards at the door.
"Oh for fucks sake..." Leona growled as he connected the dots.
"What?" Kalim asked, glancing over to the chamberlain. "Oh, it's Kifaji! Hey Kifaji!"
The chamberlain looked up in surprise at the call of his name, locking eyes with a furious Leona and giving him another sly smile.
"Wait here." Leona snapped at the group, not giving them a chance to protest before marching over to the door. "What the hell?!"
"Ah, Prince Leona." Kifaji said coolly as the guard stood at attention for the prince's approach. "I was under the impression you were not coming home during your visit."
"That why you brought Yuu here?" He spat. "Thought you were goin' to the hotel."
"I don't recall ever saying my arrangements were at the hotel." Kifaji said, though the infuriating smile and raise of his eyebrows suggested he knew exactly what he was up to.
Leona pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering expletives under his breath before looking back up. "Where is Yuu? We're goin'."
"She is changing, currently. You and your friends are more than welcome to wait inside, if you'd prefer."
"Yeah, ya’d like that, wouldn’t ya. Did Falena put you up to thi--"
"UNCA!"
Leona nearly instinctively side stepped the little ball of fiery orange that flung itself into his arms, grunting as the fuzzball impacted into his abdomen. Kifaji, while now safe from the verbal lashing Leona wanted to deal out, was not safe from the deadly glare that was shot his way.
“Quit clingin’ to me like that! Knock it off!” Leona snapped halfheartedly at his nephew who, undeterred by the tone, continued to beam up at him.
“I got so excited when I heard you were coming home!” The boy chirped quickly, grabbing his uncle’s hand and swinging it back and forth. “Can I hang out with you guys?”
Leona ignored the amused muttering of his schoolmates behind him as he rolled his eyes at the child’s antics.
Cheka continued, still swinging Leona’s arm around. “Mama said to be on the lookout for you! Do you wanna come play with me? We could play tag, or hide-and-seek, or--”
“Cheka.” Leona snarled, finally making the boy stop. “What was that about your mother?”
“Oh… I wasn’t supposed to tell.”
“Oh for fff…” Leona let the curse fizzle out into a loud grumble, trying to rub away the headache blooming in his temple. Of course it was Shani’s idea.
“I should go tell Mama you’re here!” Cheka said excitedly, darting off before Leona could stop him.
..
You slipped into the newly hemmed dress, a new length of fabric now flaring out the bottom that, once again, highly suspiciously matched the fabric of Leona's pants. Three times makes a pattern, damn if it didn't look good though. You were about to call out to Shani when you heard giggling through the door, and a boy's voice talking. You waited a moment before Shani knocked, sounding amused.
"All ready in there?" She called out.
"Yeah, ready." You called back, prompting her to enter the room.
Her smile grew ever wider as she looked at your outfit. "I've one more thing, and we need to be quick. Seems we've been found out."
There was a small gasp as Shani walked into the room, a tiny mess of ginger hair standing in the bedroom.
"I remember you!" Cheka said excitedly. "You're Unca's friend! From school!"
"I am! It's nice to see you again, Cheka!" You replied just as enthusiastically as Shani pulled one more thing off the shelf.
"It's nice to see you too! You match Unca!"
"I knew I wasn't crazy!" You nearly shouted, turning to Shani as your face burned again. She at least had the decency to look a little guilty.
"Yuu, you are a beautiful girl in an unfamiliar place." She explained, walking forward and wrapping something around your waist. "These are recognizable patterns of the leader of the Sunset Warriors, of the second prince, no one would dare do anything to you while you are wearing these."
"Do anything?" You echoed as she fastened the belt, which matched the rest of the boys'.
"Swindle you, pickpocket, worse." She listed grimly as she adjusted your necklace. "Sunrise City is as safe a city as any during a heavy tourist season. We want you to enjoy your time here, not wonder where your wallet may have gone."
"I..." you sighed heavily. "I get that. Thank you, really. This is all very generous."
"You can pay me back by marrying my brother in law." Shani teased as she exited the closet, making your face burn tenfold.
"Hey!"
"YOU AND UNCA ARE GETTING MARRIED?!"
"Oops…"
Cheka insisted you carry him through the halls, Shani nearly telling him to return to his studies before you assured her that it was fine. You spent the entire walk trying to explain to the boy that, no, you were not marrying his uncle. Cheka, however, kept talking about the imaginary wedding and all the things you needed to have there. You resigned yourself to not stopping him. He was talking about the cake when you entered the large room you'd first met Falena and Shani.
"Aha! There she is! A much more appropriate look for your guest, don't you agree, brother?" Falena said, prompting you to turn your gaze from Cheka to him, looking just in time to watch him clap Leona on the back.
Leona said nothing, just staring for a moment before clicking his tongue and looking away. You took this as annoyance for a moment before Cheka spoke up.
"Unca, unca!" Cheka said excitedly from your arms. "When you two get married you need to have a BIG cake, okay? And there needs to be chocolate, and 'biscus, and--"
"Married?" He asked incredulously, turning back to look at the boy, not able to hide the red on his cheeks now, before looking to Shani. "What did you do?"
"Children have impressive imaginations, don't they?" She asked pleasantly, taking Cheka from your arms to hers. "Thank you for letting me dress you, Yuu."
"Thank you for dressing me," you smiled at her, ignoring the burning on your own cheeks, "it was fun."
She smiled before taking your hand and leaning in to whisper to you. "If you cannot go home for school holidays, our home is open to you, just say the word."
You nearly teared up at this, simply nodding and squeezing her hand. "Thanks for everything, Shani."
Falena laughed as you walked over to join him and Leona, who had his arms crossed tightly over his chest. "I'd give you some words of warning, but you seem to know how to handle my brother better than I do at this point!"
"He's not so bad." You chuckled as he pointedly refused to look at you. "It was nice to meet you, Falena."
"You too! Come back anytime!" He beamed down at you before Leona grabbed your arm and started dragging you out of the room.
You waved back to the crown prince and princess as you were hauled out of the room and into the hall. Leona dragged you towards the entrance before making a sharp left a few doors down into another hallway.
"Leona--?"
"Shut up."
Your mouth closed with a clack of your teeth at his words, and you suddenly felt ashamed of your actions. Were you supposed to text him an SOS as soon as you realized where you were? When you realized what was happening? Before you could think about it further, he dragged you into a room at the end of the hall and shut the door, quickly caging you with his arms against it.
"What did they tell you?" He growled low, a dangerous tone you'd only heard a few times since you first stepped on his tail in the garden.
"N-Nothing--"
"Don't play dumb with me right now, herbivore, what did they say?"
"Kifaji and Falena kept saying that you're nice to me, and Shani said if I wore your patterns I'm less likely to get robbed." You said quickly, omitting her comment about marriage. "I was mostly with Shani, we talked about her sisters and my mom and the outfit, that's it."
His green eyes stared into your soul for a moment before he grumbled something under his breath, leaning forward to press his forehead against the wall next to your head.
"Leona?"
"Shani thinks she's funny." He said quietly, you could feel his breath against your ear as he spoke. "Makin' you match me, in public no less..."
"I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it--"
"Are you?" He asked, pulling back to look you in the eyes again, closer this time. "She's making fun of me."
"She's not."
"You don't know her."
"She's not making fun of you." You whispered, not breaking eye contact.
"You don't know what I say in those phone calls home." He muttered back. "Lemme guess, Shani already had that dress picked out for you, as if she plucked it from her own closet."
"...Yes?"
"You think the crown princess would ever wear the second-born's pattern?" He leaned in again, his jaw bumping your cheek as he moved to whisper in your ear. "She had that made for you, on purpose, for the day you eventually showed up."
"W-What do you say... in the calls home...?" You asked hesitantly, resisting the urge to reach your arms around him.
"Too much, apparently." He chuckled softly, lips grazing the shell of your ear. You felt like you would combust into flames any second. "Looks good on you though... suits you."
"L-Leona?"
He pulled back again, close enough to bump noses. "We have to get to the springs, otherwise our resident pretty princess won't play tomorrow." He whispered, still making no move to pull away.
"What..." your wet your suddenly very dry lips, not missing how Leona's eyes flicked down for just a second to catch the motion, "what did you mean by "when I eventually showed up...?""
"I said, don't play dumb, Yuu. You think I let just anyone braid my hair? You think I didn't notice that you do that while I'm tryin' to sleep?" He chuckled again, his grin almost looking like he was just flashing his teeth at you. "I pretend to not notice a lot of things."
"I'm not just anyone...?"
"You haven't been "just anyone" for awhile now." He muttered leaning in just a little closer, his nose brushing against yours gently before he stopped. "We need to go."
He let the moment hang in the minuscule amount of air between you for a second longer before finally pulling away, glancing over your outfit again as he did, making a triumphant little noise.
"Looks good on you." He muttered again before grabbing you by the arm to pull you away from the door.
Once you were out of the way, he opened the door again and walked out into the hallway, leaving you feeling like your knees were about to give out. With a moment to look around the room, you realized he'd pulled you into a bedroom that looked a little too similar to his back at the college.
"Herbivore." He barked from down the hall, kick starting you again.
"Y-Yeah!" You called back before hiking your skirt and jogging to catch up to him again.
If your friends, namely Vil, noticed the similarities between your outfit and Leona's, they were gracious enough not to say anything about it. You were, however, highly complimented on it, Kalim making a point to spin you around to see the dress twirl. Kifaji had a very self satisfied look on his face off to the side, which was quickly wiped away when Leona finally announced his plan to leave him in the dust.
..
Back at Night Raven College, you and Leona went back to your normal routine as if nothing had ever happened. You almost wondered if it had been a very sweet dream until you saw the dress in your closet again. You grabbed the skirt, rubbing the fabric between your thumb and index finger, as if to remind yourself that it was real. It had happened.
"What? You longin' for the Sunset Savanna again?" Grim asked from your bed, you'd nearly forgotten he was there. "I am. You really missed out on that meat, hench-human. I wouldn't mind goin' back."
"Yeah... me neither." You sighed, releasing the dress. You stared at it longingly for another moment before shutting the closet door to continue getting ready for bed. A very sweet dream indeed.

I saw there are a lot of forest fire in chile right now. are you gonna be okay?
Three days after the fact, yeah, I'll be fine, personally and physically, but it's dire, I'm not going to lie. I've never seen so much fire in my life. When you think about a big fire, your impression might be two or three buildings on fire with some firefighter trucks spraying water at it. This was kilometers upon kilometers of raging blazes. Kilometers. Heads up if you are sensitive to these kinds of posts, this isn't a happy one.
Entire hills on fire. Lush green hills reduced to ash and smoke.
Not to mention the urban parts that got hit badly
The official death toll keeps increasing each passing hour as they clear up the rubble and ruins and find more corpses. People I know lost everything. Some people I know lost their loved ones. Dogs are eating corpses on the street because they haven't picked them up yet, so you have neighbors warding off said dogs. Bodies get picked up too badly burned, eaten, decomposed, or a mix thereof to be identified.
It's a tragedy. It all reeks of smoke, there's ash everywhere.
It was sudden, it was brutal. Seeing elderly survivors wondering "what's next for me? I don't have enough years left among the living to rebuild all I lost, all I worked for throughout my life, gone like that" breaks my heart. The government is offering all sorts of aid, but there's also people whose documents, like ID and other identifying documentation, was lost in the fire, so they have to get re-issued an ID before they can actually start filing for aid. The SML (Servicio Médico Legal) is oversaturated with all that's suddenly on their plate and can't return the bodies of people to their families yet, and these are all people that still need food, shelter, hygiene, and so on after the fact. Seeing the logistical nightmare that becomes life after you lose everything firsthand from other people is sobering and painful. Yeah, they survived, but what comes next? It's a sense of uncertainty that is smothering and asphyxiating, it's hopelessness.
I apologize if I come across as dramatic, especially so as someone who was luckily not affected, but it really, really has been heartbreaking to witness, especially from very up close, as I was there, and it's one thing to know of a tragedy that happened elsewhere, maybe even in your own country, but elsewhere, and it's a whole other beast to have seen it directly as it unfolded.

neighbour!kuroo who offers you to stay with him until you've found a new apartment — a small part of him hopes he doesn't seem too eager, another small one wondering if being so close to your ex is going to end up hurting you, but the biggest part of him really hopes that you'll say yes regardless.
who thinks that kenma would snort into his hand if he could see the level of excitement kuroo has to swallow once you agree, apologise for taking up space only to agree vehemently again.
everyday, in the morning when both of you found each other in the kitchen, he opens the newspaper wide for any new apartment postings while you scour the internet; the smell of coffee and breakfast soothing and familiar. a flat far away enough from your ex-boyfriend that you don't have to worry anymore, but secretly he hopes that it's not so far away that he won't ever see you again.
neighbour!kuroo who bids you goodbye when you leave for work first, waiting at the door until he sees you board the elevator safely lest your ex-boyfriend gets the prime idea of harassing you on your way out.
who cackles to himself at the notice hanging on the wall in the entrance hall: the landlord asking for the culprit who taped a tenant's mailbox shut to come forward for community service or to face a fine upon refusal.
kuroo thinks he's got enough money to pay double the fine. (he does plan to mess with it again — to maintain his youthfulness, of course.)
neighbour!kuroo who learns that your work place is not that far away from his own. who wonders if it's far too forward to ask you to spend lunch hour together down the street at the really good coffee shop.
whose heart stutters when he gets a call forwarded from an unknown number only for his ear to meet your voice to ask whether he wanted to meet up for lunch.
(his assistant, looking through the glass wall, raises her eyebrow at the fist pump he throws into the air; her other joining in as soon as she watches kuroo trying to tame his hair but to no avail — stubborn as the head it sits on.)
kuroo also happens to forget to mention that he doesn't like almond paste but when you excitedly show him your favourite pastry with hopeful eyes, lashes caressing your cheeks, a wide grin on your face, he can't help but put his entire life on the line fighting the blush that theatens to overtake his own.
for a second he thinks of refusing, but then he tries the almond riddled pastry, anyway.
he does not like it.
neighbour!kuroo who gets off work half an hour earlier and waits in front of your work place so that he could drive both of you home.
who, with a cocked eyebrow and a sharp retort ready on his tongue, notices a familiar loser linger around the entrance.
"i sure as hell hope you're not here to see who i think you wanna see," he says, looking down his nose at your ex. kuroo, who makes sure to bear his teeth in a resemblance of a sharp smile, who delights in the shifting of uneasy eyes, "but in case you need a reminder of why to stay away, i'm more than happy to help out."
who acts brilliantly inconspicuous once you walk towards him; your boyfriend long gone, shooed away, bullied away, sneered away. (he didn't even have to try that hard.)
neighbour!kuroo who finds it easy to match his long strides to your shorter ones; whose hand swings next to yours. now and then, your knuckles meet his for a split second in a way that makes him want to take your fingers in a tight hold so they can't tease him anymore.
you tell him about an interview you booked for an apartment viewing, excited, asking him whether he had time on the upcoming wednesday at 11 am.
he doesn't, but he says he'll be there with you, anyway.
who tries to ignore the little stab through his ribcage at the thought that he would lose out on your presence before he could even enjoy it to the fullest.
neighbour!kuroo who sends you a smile, void of any cutting edges, eyes crinkling, and tells you, "let's look for more viewings at home."
whose chest squeezes in consolation when you gift him a smile back and nod as you eat the same damn almond pastry; when you don't correct him about home.
neighbour!kuroo who innocently forgets to remind you of looking for more viewings, and instead relishes in the space you occupy on his couch next to him as you settle in with hot tea and a blanket to tackle on the many movies you borrowed from the library.
who gets into a routine with you of making breakfast, washing dishes, saying goodnight and good morning, bickering and teasing, late-night talks and dawn-kissed chats.
who thinks that really, maybe you could just stay here.

It's a Love Story - Chapter 1
Summary:
Azriel's shadows find their master a wife.
Azriel would just really like his heart not to get broken again.
And Sky...well, she's just really surprised that that far too handsome male is interested in her at all.
Warning:
Rhys Bashing (as usual), I classified this as Azriel x OC, even when it't technically Azriel x Sellyn Drake (but we kinda know nothing about Sellyn Drake other than that she writes books so Sky is kinda an OC), Cassian is kinda a good guy for once, Azriel has a horrible time, as usual... Stuttering, toxic families (For once I do not mean the IC), Self-Esteem Issues, Secret Identity, Body Image Issues
If any of this triggers you or makes you uncomfortable, please take care of your own mental health and don't read it.
Koschei the Deathless Sorcerer was killed by the Spymaster of the Night Court.
It was less dramatic than it sounded. At least Azriel thought so.
And if Lucien hadn’t been a fucking idiot and put himself into a position to be kidnapped by the very same deathless sorcerer…then they wouldn’t even have been in that kind of situation.
But he had been and so it ended with Azriel so magically exhausted that he collapsed the very same moment Truthteller stroke true once more.
At least Koschei was slayn.
And the only reason Azriel had gone to rescue the red-headed male in the first place was the fact that Lucien was Elaine’s mate. Lucien was the male Elain loved. Azriel couldn’t let him die.
Couldn’t let Elain feel the devastation of a mating bond broken by death…so his decision making had been quick. Either he would manage to get Lucien free…or he would die trying. There wasn’t many things that he wouldn’t do for the female he loved. Even when he knew it shouldn’t be.
Azriel had never been very good at knowing when enough was enough after all, wasn’t he?
No price was high enough to pay when it was about Elain’s happiness, as far as Azriel was concerned.
He hadn't expected to wake up, and yet… there he was. Alive and whole.
*I hope it was worth it, Master,* the shadows sniped at him.
He blinked, taking in the dim light of the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. His room in the House of Wind.
“You are a fucking idiot, you know?” Cassian hissed at him from his place at his bedside and Azriel blinked at him.
"Lucien?" he brought out hoarsely.
"Not as much as a fucking scratch on him. Thanks to you," Cassian responded. "You on the other hand...Madja thought you were going to fucking die from pure magical exhaustion!"
Even Azriel he had...it would have been worth it. Lucien had made it out alive - and that was all that mattered in the end. Elain would be happy. That was all he cared about.
He didn't say that aloud though.
He took a deep breath, opening his eyes again. "How long was I out?" he asked.
"Three days," Cassian growled. "Three. Days."
Azriel sat up slowly, wincing at the ache in his muscles. It felt like his entire body was one giant bruise, every inch of him pained and sore.
"Lay back down," Cassian snapped.
Azriel shot him a glare, but sank back onto the bed nonetheless. "I'm fine," he grumbled. "Just tired."
"Yeah, well, we'll let Madja be the judge of that," Cassian snapped. "And when you are feeling better, I am going to kill you for going off on your own!"
Azriel just gave him a weary look. "Better me than you," he said dryly. He closed his eyes, feeling a deep exhaustion settle over him. Cassian had Nesta to think about. Azriel didn't. Azriel just had himself.
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!" Cassian demanded.
Azriel didn't have the energy to answer
He dosed off, feeling the shadows twine around him. They were muttering, words he could c quite understand, bitching under their breath but for once it was comforting.
He woke up, feeling groggy and disoriented. His eyes felt like sandpaper, and his limbs were heavy. He groggily blinked at the room, feeling like he was in a haze.
It took him a moment to realize he wasn't alone. Cassian was still there, as was Madja.
Azriel groaned, pushing himself up into a sitting position. His head was throbbing, and his vision was a little blurred. He rubbed his face, trying to clear the fog from his mind. "Hey," he said, his voice rough and gravelly.
Cassian and Madja both looked at him, their expressions relieved. "How are you feeling?" Madja asked him, moving closer to the bed and waving a hand in front of his face.
"Like I was hit by a wagon," Azriel admitted. His muscles felt tight and sore, his body heavy with fatigue. His wings felt like they were made of lead, and every movement took a huge effort.
"That's unsurprising considering you nearly magicked yourself to death," Madja said gruffly. "Your body had a tremendous amount of stress and strain put on it. You're lucky to be alive."
He gritted his teeth. "Yeah, well, I didn't have a lot of other options," he pointed out.
Madja just let out a huff and began prodding and poking at his body, running her hands over his wings and checking his pulse. Cassian watched anxiously from the side, his arms crossed over his chest.
Azriel bore her ministrations in silence, trying not to wince as she poked and prodded at him. He knew she was just trying to help, but it didn't make the ordeal any more pleasant.
After what felt like forever, she finally stepped back, nodding to herself. "You're lucky, shadowsinger," she said gruffly. "You're lucky you're so damn resilient," she said, and he couldn't tell if it was a compliment or just an observation.
He looked at her blearily. "I guess I can add that to my list of things to be proud of," he muttered sarcastically.
Cassian barked out a laugh, but Madja just rolled her eyes. The door opened at that moment. "How's he doing?" Rhys demanded.
Azriel wanted to let out a sigh at the sight of Rhys. He loved his brother, but he didn't have the energy for a lecture right now.
Madja turned to Rhys. "He's weak and he's stupid," she snapped. "But he's alive."
Rhys let out a sigh, the tension in his shoulders easing just a little. "Thank you, Madja," he said. "Would you...give us a moment?"
Madja nodded, patting Azriel's leg as she got up to leave. "Rest," she ordered. "And no strenuous activity for at least a week."
As soon as the door closed behind her, Rhys turned to Azriel. "What were you thinking?" he demanded, his eyes blazing.
"I was thinking that I was saving Lucien's life," Azriel replied evenly, meeting his brother's gaze. "I couldn't let him die, Rhys."
"Wouldn't that have made it easier for you?* Rhys demanded sharply mentally. *You are the one that fancies himself in love with Elain.*
Maybe it shouldn't hurt him as much as it did. He didn't fancy himself in love with her. He was in love with her. Had been in love with her and Rhys had been the one to order him away from her, which had given Lucien the opportunity to swoop in and Elain had...Elain had given in. Given in to that Siren Song of the Mating Bond and was very much in love with her mate now.
It hurt to hear Rhys say it like that, like it was just some passing infatuation that he'd gotten over.
*Lucien is her mate,* he responded simply. He didn't say what he really thought. He didn't say that he would rather have Elain be happy and never talk with him again than to have her wilt like one of her flowers because her mate had died and the mating bond would be broken… He didn't say that he loved Elain enough, that her happiness was more important to him than anything else. He didn't say any of that.
*At least you are recognising that now,* Rhys said with a snort. Azriel didn't flinch. Didn't react.
He hid away in that little corner of his brain he went to when everything became too much. Where he could just shut up all his feelings, all these pesky emotions, and just be...nothing. Nothing. That's the only thing he still had left.
He just shrugged, schooling his face into a careless expression. "I did what I had to do, Rhys," he repeated stubbornly. "Lucien is a good male. He didn't deserve to die."
"Elain wants to thank you," Rhys said suddenly.
Azriel's stomach twisted as Rhys mentioned Elain. He felt a pang of longing in his chest, a desperate ache to see her, to touch her, to hear her voice. But he knew he couldn't. He couldn't subject himself to the torture of seeing her with her mate, seeing her happy in Lucien's arms.
So his answer was definite: "There is no need for that," he said simply.
Rhys gave him a sharp look. "Don't be an idiot," he said gruffly. "She's been worried sick about you."
But Azriel just shook his head, even as his heart thudded in his chest.
*You can keep it together for 5 minutes,* Rhys snapped into his mind.
"Rhys," Cassian said carefully. "If he doesn't want to, just let it..."
"He's being ridiculous," Rhys snapped, interrupting Cassian. "Elain is family.”
Azriel grit his teeth but didn't respond. He didn't have the energy for an argument right now. He just wanted to sleep.
*See her for 5 minute snad then you can sulk like a spoiled child until you feel better about yourself,* Rhys bargained drily.
Azriel hesitated. He knew he should see her, knew that it would make things easier for everyone if he did. But the thought of seeing her, seeing her happy with Lucien when he was so miserable, was like a knife to the gut.
"Does it even matter what I want?" he asked, his voice flat.
Rhys let out a frustrated sigh, looking at him with exasperation. "Az, stop being so damned stubborn. Elain has been worried sick about you - the least you can do is let her see that you are alive."
Azriel didn't say anything. Didn't respond. He just stared at Rhys, feeling like every fiber of his being was being pulled apart. He wanted to see her. Wanted to see her more than anything. But he knew that once he saw her, he wouldn't be able to hold himself together. He would break. He would shatter into a thousand pieces.
"Just...come on, Az," Rhys said finally. "Let her see you. She needs to know you're alright."
Azriel knew he couldn't say no. Knew he couldn't hurt her like that. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. "Fine," he said softly. "But just for five minutes."
Five minutes. He could do five minutes. He had to. For her…
She was still as achingly beautiful as she always had been. These devasting brown eyes, the caramel curls...
Azriel's breath hitched at the sight of her, and he felt a wave of conflicting emotions wash over him. Love, longing, sadness, and that bittersweet pang of being so close to something he could never have.
Behave, Rhys warned him sharply.
He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. Trying to push back that wave of feelings that threatened to drown him. It was just five minutes, he reminded himself. Five minutes. He could do this.
The shadows swirled around him, welling up with intensity, shrouding much of his body in inky blackness and Elain flinched back from them.
She had never quite warmed up to them. Azriel was just thankful for that display, for keeping her away from him as she entered the room, Lucien on her heels.
"How...How are you feeling?" she asked him, her voice soft.
He could tell that she was worried, that she was concerned for him. It warmed something inside him, and he hated himself for it.
"I'm fine," Azriel answered hoarsely. "Just tired.
"I...thank you," Elain said softly, binting her lip. "If you hadn't...if you hadn't killed Koschei and freed Lucien...I...Thank you, Azriel."
Hearing her say his name again was like a punch to the gut. It was both a comfort and a torture, to be so close to her and yet so far away. He swallowed hard, biting back the words that threatened to spill out.
"You don't owe me any thanks," he said quietly. "I just did what had to be done."
"I do owe you my life," Lucien disagreed. "Thank you. Without your interference...I wouln't have survived, " he said flatly.
Azriel just shrugged, feeling a wave of bitterness wash over him. He had saved Lucien, had risked his life to save the male who was mated to the female he loved. It was a strange sort of irony.
"It's fine," he said roughly. "I'm just glad I got there in time."
He couldn't look at her. Couldn't look at Lucien. It hurt too much. So he stared at the floor, willing the shadows to consume him entirely.
"We are all just happy you are feeling alright," Elain said softly. "I...I was worried about you. Everyone was."
Azriel forced himself to look up at her, his heart clenching at the sincerity in her eyes. She really had been worried about him. "I'm alright," he promised her, his voice rough. "Really. I just need some rest."
Elain hesitated, taking a step forward. He could hear her heartbeat, could feel the warmth radiating off her skin. It was torture to be so close to her and yet so far away. It was torture to know that she was so close and yet so unattainable. He wanted to reach out, to touch her, to hold her, but he knew he couldn't. He held onto that last shred of reason he had.
She tugged a piece of hair behind one delicately arched ear...and that was the moment he saw the gold and pearl ring that decorated her ring finger.
"Congratulations." He wasn't sure how he even brought out these words...how he managed to make them sound...appropriately happy for her.
It took a herculean effort to say those words, to offer a smile that barely reached his eyes. Every fibre of his being was screaming in protest, yelling that he should have been the one giving her that ring, that he should have been the one by her side. But he pushed back those feelings, burying them deep down inside of himself. He couldn't let her see how he truly felt. He couldn't let her know how much it was tearing him apart to stand there and look at her. Look at her with her mate, with the male she loved, the one she had chosen.
"Congratulation," he repeated, his voice a little rougher than before.
"It wouldn't have been possible without you," Elain said, with a smile.
Azriel just nodded, feeling a lump in his throat. He couldn't find the words to respond, couldn't find the words to express the tangle of emotions swirling inside of him. He just sat there, feeling more alone and isolated than he had in a long time.
Elain took another step in his direction, seemingly ready to reach out, but Cassian intercepted her. placing a gentle hand on Elain's shoulder. "He needs his rest," he said softly. "Let's leave him be for now."
Azriel felt a pang of gratitude towards Cassian. Elain hesitated, looking torn.
"I wish you every happiness," Azriel brought out his voice hoarsely. Not even a lie. It was the frank truth in these words and Elain gave him a smile, before Lucien's hand came to rest at her lower back, guiding her out of the room.
Thank the cauldron. They were gone.
He slumped back into the pillow. He was falling apart. He was exhausted, emotionally and physically. He just wanted to be left alone, to lick his wounds in peace.
"Az..." Cassian said carefully, but he cut him off.
“I am tired,” Azriel said, his voice hoarse. “I need to sleep.”
The shadows swirled around him tighter.
Rhys and Cassian exchanged a look, before Cassian nodded, "Alright," he said. "Get some rest."
He laid down properly, closing his eyes, calling the shadows to him wordlessly. They swamred around him immediately. Damn Near suffocating him. It was the only thing that kept him from starting to sob.
The shadows embraced him, wrapping him in their inky blackness, shielding him from the outside world. They were his only comfort, just like they had been for centuries.
*We are there, Master.* They promised him softly. *It will be fine, Master.*
He didn’t believe a fucking word they said.
*We are not willing to lose you, Master. We aren’t interested in finding a new master,* they told him seriously. He choked out a laugh that turned into a sob.
*Sleep, Master. We'll keep watch,* they promised him.
And they did.
Bone deep exhaustion meant that at least his sleep was dreamless. At least that was given to him. It was a small mercy.
When he woke up again, Nesta was there, sitting in an armchair reading.
Azriel blinked, feeling disoriented and groggy. He sat up slowly, wincing as his wounds protested the movement. Nesta looked up from her book, her expression neutral.
"How are you feeling?" she asked him quietly.
"Fine," he answered, his voice hoarse. He was fine. He would be fine.
"Thank you," Nesta said suddenly.
Azriel looked up at her, surprised. He wasn't even sure what she was thanking him for.
"For what?" he asked, his voice rough with sleep.
“You nearly got yourself killed to save my sister’s mate. I think Thank you is the least I owe you," Nesta said drily.
She mustered him with grey eyes and he knew that she knew. Knew that she knew or at the very least could guess about his feelings for Elain and probably be right. She wouldn't say anything, but she knew.
He didn’t want to talk about this anymore. It was over with. Done.
Lucien and Elain could be happy and Azriel…Azriel would hide away somewhere.
"You don't owe me anything," he waved Nesta off weakly, but she didn’t seem to want to take the hint, sticking out her chin.
"Yes, I do," Nesta disagreed. "You are the reason why my little sister is happy right now," she told him fiercely. He swallowed down the unkind words at the tip of her tongue...didn't say anything. Didn't.... He didn’t want to think about this. He didn’t…
"Is there anything I can do?" Nesta asked him, her voice soft. "Anything at all, Az?" H knew that he could ask for anything and Nesta would do her level best to give it to him. She was stubborn like that. He had half a mind to ask her to use her silver flames to put him on fire and put him out of his misery.
He didn’t.
Even that wouldn’t fix it.
There was nothing. There was absolutely nothing to make it any better. There was nothing that could...that could fix the ache in his chest.
"Porridge," he said, his voice hoarse.
"Porridge?" Nesta repeated incrediously.
"Porridge with honey. I am hungry," he repeated, meeting her gaze. Food. Food. More Sleep. More Work. He could fill his waking hours with useless things and everybody would be happy.
Nesta just looked at him for a moment, then inclined her head.
"Porridge with honey. Alright," she agreed. Just a moment later a massive bowl of Porridge with honey drizzled on top, appeared on his bedside table, so hot it was steaming. Seemed like the house was in a mood to spoil him. He even got a whiff of cinnamon from it.
"Thank you," he thanked Nesta's creature aloud as the shadows fetched the bowl and held it up for him to eat a spoonful. "What are you reading?" he asked Nesta, changing the topic.
She was polite enough not to say anything about it.
Nesta held up her book. “The newest Sellyn Drake novel,” she replied.
"Is it any good?" he inquired, stirring his porridge gently.
“It’s brilliant," Nesta gushed, her eyes devoured the pages as soon as she looked down to continue reading.
"You seem to really like it," he pointed out, taking another bite of his porridge. "It is brilliant," Nesta agreed readily. “The plot is so intricate and twists and turns and the characters are so deep and complex and their emotions are so real and the romance is so...” she trailed off, blushing slightly.
He opened his mouth to respond...but then he heard her.
Mor. Of course.
He couldn’t deal with Mor. Not right now. But there she was, Rhys hot on her heels.
Nesta heard her too, rolling her eyes, curling back up on her chair, making it very clear that while she was going nowhere, she was letting him deal with it on her own.
And he didn’t want to deal with Mor.
But there she was.
Mor came strolling into the room, her usual confident smile firmly in place. Rhys just looked at Azriel, his expression unreadable.
He didn't say it. But Azriel knew. Behave. That’s all Rhys was telling him these days. Either it was about Elain and Lucien...or about Mor and Emerie. Like Azriel would ever do anything to put that in jeopardy. Like Azriel was a jealous child that wouldn't allow Mor to be happy on her own terms. Like...
Azriel ignored the sharp pang of hurt that shot through him at Rhys's look.
Still it was better than looking at Mor…he couldn’t bear to look at Mor.
Didn't want to look at Mor, in her usual bright red, skin baring dress, that clung to all her curves...didn't want to look at the female he had spent centuries in love with even when he had known that she was never going to return his affections...it hadn't helped him. He had still been in love with her.
And he had still hoped...hoped against all hope that maybe...maybe there would be a time where she would return his affection...that maybe there would be a time where...
But there wouldn't. He knew. He knew. And he had still been in love with her.
Would have given damn near anything for her attention, for that broad smile on her face to be directed in his direction...would have given anything for her to bound over to his bedside and envelope him in her arms...to feel her soft skin against his as she hugged him fiercely, cinnamon and citrus enveloping him.
Now...now it felt like somebody was pouring salt into a gaping wound. Now it felt as painful as the fire and oil on his hands had. She was flaying him alive and she wasn’t even aware that she was hurting him.
"How are you feeling, Az?" Mor's voice was gentle, concerned. He knew it was genuine, knew that Mor really cared about him. But he couldn't bring himself to look at her. Not when his heart was bleeding out just from the sound of her voice.
"Fine," he answered, his voice flat. "Nothing that sleep won't fix," he promised her, even as her hands fluttered around him as she sat down on his bedside...
She was so close. He could reach out and touch her, could feel the soft fabric of her dress against his fingertips. He clenched his fists, willing himself to keep his hands to himself.
But he couldn't help it. He looked up at her, meeting her eyes. He could see the concern there, the worry. He felt a pang of guilt for putting that look on her face. He didn't want to cause her any distress.
"I'm just glad you are feeling better," Mor sighed, gently patting his arm. "You had us all worried for a moment there," she admitted softly.
Even just the touch of her hand felt like she was branding him. He wanted to flinch away and forced himself no to.
It was like a bittersweet poison, the way she touched him. It was so familiar, so comforting. But it was also so painful, a reminder of what he could never have.
He looked away, staring down at his hands. They were shaking, just a little. He clasped them together, the monstrous scars that covered them, standing out starkly.
The shadows trembled around him, pulling nearer, growing darker and Mor watched them with a raised eyebrow. "Worried, are they?" she teased him slightly.
*You are fine, Master,* the shadows promised him. *No more fire,* they promised him fiercely. But it didn’t help. He didn’t trust himself to speak without his voice cracking.
Mor seemed to sense his discomfort and stood up, her hand slipping from his arm. "Just rest and get better soon, alright?" she said softly, taking a step back.
"Thank you," he thanked her, his voice hoarse.
He risked a glance up at her, just a quick look. Her face was soft, her eyes filled with warmth. He felt his heart squeeze in his chest and he had to look away again. He wasn't sure how much more of this he could take.
"We should let him rest, Mor," Rhys said, giving Azriel another look.
"Right, right," Mor agreed, already turning towards the door. "Rest up, Az," she said again, giving him one last smile as she disappeared out the door.
Azriel felt a sense of relief wash over him as she left the room.
Gone. Thank the cauldron. He couldn't take much more of her presence, not right now.
He didn't even want to know why Rhys had accompanied her. Probably because he was worried that Azriel wasn't going to behave.
What was he supposed to do instead? Tell Mor about how much she had hurt him over the centuries? How she had given him jut enough scraps of her affection to make him yearn for more but never telling him that she didn’t love him like that?
He wasn’t going to do that.
He didn't want to look at Rhys right now, didn't want to face the scrutiny of his high lord's gaze. He just wanted to be left alone.
He knew that Rhys was watching him, that the male wanted to say something. But Azriel didn't want to hear it. He didn't want to hear the lecture, the warning. He just wanted to be left alone.
The room fell silent, except for the sound of his own breathing. He closed his eyes and sank deeper into the mattress. Maybe if he just pretended to sleep, Rhys would leave him alone.
"He's tired. You should let him sleep," Nesta said flatly.
Leave it to Nesta to tell Rhys to stuff it, he reflected weakly. He heard Rhys sigh, but he kept his eyes closed. And after a moment, he heard the sound of footsteps leaving the room.
He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, feeling a wave of relief wash over him.
Alone. Safe. Mostly at least.
Life went on. It always did.
The exhaustion went away after a few days... he caught up on Paperwork in the meantime. He sent the shadows off to find him one information or other and they didn't even bitch to him that badly, which told him that even they felt bad for him.
Behave. That’s all Rhys was telling him these days.
So he did. He behaved.
He did his job. He did everything Rhys could possibly want from his spymaster.
He didn’t argue. He didn’t fight. He did his job and he trained and he did everyhting that was expected off him.
And then he hadn’t tortured himself enough… and he went to visit Rosehall.
Where his mother lived.
Under the Mountains had it’s own kind consequences. This was one of them: His mother didn’t even want to talk to him anymore.
50 years without him...and his mother had made herself a new family. A family that he wasn’t welcome in. A family that she wanted him nowhere near. He couldn’t fault her for it. Not at all.
She had been half a child when she had had him and it hadn’t been by choice.
So who could blame her for making a new family with people that weren’t as fucked up in the head as he was? Not Azriel.
Azriel didn’t blame her at all. Azriel left her in peace. He didn't reach out. He made sure that she was fine, that she had enough money to never worry about it and otherwise dissappeared from her life.
His shadows kept an eye on her…He shored up the wards around Rosehall and caught a glimpse of her. And then he left it at that. She looked happy. That’s all he cared about.
Happy and safe and…she didn’t need him. She didn’t want him around her either, and he could understand that too.
And still, it hurt. It hurt so fucking much.
But
*You know the rules,* he told the shadows quietly. *You don’t need to report to me about her anymore. Keep an eye on her and only tell me if she is in danger or hurt.*
*Yes, Master,* they agreed readily.
So he went back to the House of Wind. Back to Velaris…Back to work.
He went back to his routine, back to his duties, back to his mask of indifference. He hid the pain behind his usual stoic facade, only letting his shadows know how much it hurt. He threw himself into his work, using it as a way to distract himself from his own loneliness.
And when he wasn't working, he would spend hours and hours in the training ring in the House of Wind, working himself to exhaustion. Anything to try and drown out the ache in his heart.
For gods sake, he even attended Elain and Lucien’s mating ceremony. And gifted them an appropriate gift. He behaved just like Rhys wanted him too.
He even summoned up a smile for them on their special day, hiding his own pain behind a mask of false happiness. He congratulated them both, feeling a pang in his chest at the sight of Elain's beaming face. But he didn’t let it show. He behaved. Like Rhys wanted him too.
He stayed for the whole thing. Stayed for the dancing, stayed for the feast. Stayed until he could physically take it no more. And then he had retreated to that training ring again, beating his pain and loneliness out on whatever dummy he could find.
He was so tired. Tired of hiding, tired of pretending. Tired of pretending like nothing was wrong. He wanted nothing more than to just scream and rage and shout and cry. But he didn’t. He held it all in. Bottled it up like he was so good at doing.
He was in the bathtub, sluicing off the sweat he was drenched in…shaking off his wings just because he could move them however he wanted to
*You should go out, Master,* the shadows suggested seriously. *Go out and find a female.*
He just snorted. *Not interested,* he sniped back harshly. *I am not getting my heart broken again.*
Everybody could just fuck off and leave him alone. Even when he was aching…aching for somebody in his life that loved him. For whom he could be everything. Somebody he could dote on. Somebody that wanted his attention, that wanted his love…that would like his ruined hands on their body and wasn’t paid to simply acccept it.
*You could let us pick her!* the shadows suggested brightly.
His eyes snapped back open and he glared at the shadows swirling around the room. *Absolutely not,* he said firmly. *I mean it, you stay out of it.*
*We can’t do a worse job than you do,* they sniped at him. *Neither The Seer nor The Morrigan would have suited you at all.*
*Excuse me?!*
*You heard us, Master,* the shadows said, sounding far too smug for their own good. *And you know it.*
Azriel just glared at them, feeling his temper start to rise. *I know I wasn’t good enough for them,* he snapped. *You don’t need to tell me that.*
*You think you weren’t good enough for them?!* The shadows asked him incredulously.
*They deserve better. So much better than me,* he said quietly. "I'm not good enough for either of them. Never was.*
What was he, after all? An Illyrian bastard? A monster? Either? Both?
He had never said it out loud before, not even to himself. But in that moment, lying in the water, his heart so raw and exposed, he couldn't help but speak the truth that he had always known but never admitted to himself. "I'm not good enough for either of them," he repeated softly, the weight of his words settling heavily on his chest.
He knew it was true. Mor was a golden ray of light, the embodiment of beauty and grace. Elain was sweet and gentle and kind, a pure soul in a sea of darkness.
And what was he? Damaged. Broken. Scarred. Inside and out.
He had done unspeakable things, things that would haunt his nightmares for centuries to come. He was nothing compared to them. He was darkness, they were light. And they deserved better than him, far better than him.
Even if he had loved Mor with every fiber of his being, even if he had yearned for her with every beat of his heart, even if he had dreamed of her every night, it didn't matter. It had never mattered. Because he wasn't good enough for her. And he never would be.
He wasn’t good enough for Elain. The mother hadn’t thought it to be prudent to make them mates. Both of his brother had been gifted with a mating bond, but not him. That should tell him everything he needed to know abotu the state of his own soul.
So why…why should he even try anymore.
Why shouldn’t he just stew in his own misery, alone and heartbroken and a monster and expect everybody to just leave him alone? There was no point of putting himself out there again. There was nothing out there for him. Nothing but more pain.
So he closed his eyes again, sinking lower into the water, letting the warmth soothe his aching muscles. He let out a long sigh, his mind already racing with thoughts of his next missions, his next assignments. Because that was all that really mattered now. His job. His duties. His responsibilities. That was all he had left.
Behave. That’s all he was good for.
*Alright, that’s fucking enough,* the shadows snapped. *You are not letting The High Lord talk to you like that any longer, Master.*
Azriel was so surprised by their fucking vehemence that he could just stare at them.
*The Morrigan used you for centuries to make herself feel better about herself,* the shadows snapped. *She used the feelings you had for her and that she was very much aware of to strangle you and keep you in line.*
Azriel swallowed. He knew they were right. He knew that Mor had used his feelings for her for a long time. She had led him on, given him false hope, only to yank it away time and time again. It had been a painful cycle, one that had left him feeling used and broken and worthless.
*She could have stopped at any time but she never did,* the shadows hissed. *But instead she hurt you on purpose. Instead of turning you down, she slept with other males to show you that you would never have her!*
Azriel felt bile rise in the back of his throat. Mor had flaunted her other lovers in front of him, making it clear that he would never be enough for her. She had used his devotion to her as a weapon against him, wielding it whenever it suited her needs. And he had let her. He had been foolish, desperate enough to cling onto any scrap of affection she might throw his way.
*And The Seer?! Granted she has never done that, but her feelings for you weren’t particular deep when she replaced you on her affections with The Fox as soon as you weren’t available anymore! If she had cared, truly cared, she would have thought about what happened during Winter Solstice,* the shadows snapped.
*And The High Lord? Don’t even let us get started on him,* the shadows snapped. *You haven’t even done anything since that Winter Solstice, and he keeps behaving like some kind of despotic Overlord, worried that his orders won’t be followed. If you wanted to punch him in the face, you probably had every right to it,* they mumbled.
Azriel couldn’t help but snort.
*You deserve better, Master,* The shadows told him fiercely. *You deserve somebody that loves you.*
. He wanted to believe the shadows. He wanted to believe that he was good enough, that he deserved more. But the scars on his body and the memories in his mind told him otherwise. He had done terrible things, things that he could never undo. How could someone like that be good enough for anyone?
*Alright,* he finally agreed weakly. *Find me a house,* he told the shadows, as he closed his eyes.
*A house? What kind of house?* the shadows gave back, sounding surprised.
*A house,* he repeated. *A home. Somewhere in Velaris. Find me a home.* Something that could just be his.
A home. The idea sent a flutter through his stomach. He had never…never truly had a home. Had something that could just be his and nobody else’s. Just…a place that was his, where he could be whoever he wanted, where he was accepted and loved...it was appealing. Maybe even more than just appealing.
He closed his eyes, picturing it in his mind. A cozy little house, just large enough for himself. Warm and cozy and filled with light.
*That’s what a male needs to take a wife after all, right?* He asked, a flicker of uncertainty crossed his face. Was that what he should want? What he was supposed to want? He had never really thought about getting married before. But now, at the mention of it, he couldn't help but feel a pang of longing. A wife...a family...love and companionship. It all sounded so…so nice.
*You want to get married, Master?* the shadows asked curioulsy. *To whom?*
*You pick,* he told the shadows. They swarmed out in pure excitment. Azriel couldn’t even remmeebr the last time they had been so excited.
He couldn't help but chuckle at their reaction. Maybe they would do a better job than him. At least they could probably sieve out females that were in a romantic relationship or preferred females themselves.
*Find me somebody that I could make happy. Somebody that….Somebody that could want me.* Some long-suffering female for whom Azriel could maybe try to be enough. Somebody that would love him.
*What should she look like?* they asked seriously.
*I don’t care. Find me somebody that loves me and she’ll be the most beautiful female to me anyway.*

"Penelope, what the fuck are you wearing?"
It was a very loud exclamation, over the sound of party music that certainly didn't match the overall theme of Halloween. It was only nine o'clock but the fox eared blonde in front of you had lip liner painting her chin, a pink flush on her cheeks barely hidden beneath a layer of makeup, and two cans of some multicoloured premixed vodka drink you weren't sure about trying (despite her holding one out to you).
"Fox costume. I'm Agnes! From Fantastic Mr. Fox!" Penelope says, cheerfully, urging you to take the drink she had in her hand, not relenting until you did.
"We agreed on swans," you huff, feeling awfully stupid now, in your all white costume, a pair of fluffy wings settled on your back.
Penelope looked genuinely apologetic for changing her costume idea on you with no warning, and so as she rambled about how she got excited after seeing fox makeup on her phone, you decided it wasn't actually that big of a deal. She finished her spiel with a comment about still technically matching because you're both animals, and it was enough for you to accept.
She led you further into the house. House, because she had convinced one of her coworkers to let her host a Halloween party at his, claiming her apartment was far too small for such a thing. Apparently he was very easy to convince.
It was a quick tour of where all the most basic of amenities on the first floor were, before she was shoving a shot glass of vodka into your hand, and encouraging you to take it.
So you did.
Perhaps it was a loosening up technique she was using in an attempt to keep you from ripping her head off when she began another conversation with you with the words,
"So, I need to preface before you get too drunk—" a sentence you really had never hoped to hear in your life "—that Spencer's here."
You're not too sure why your world begins to crumble around you at that fact. You figured he would be. In fact, when you were choosing the articles of clothing for your costume a week ago, you had the idea of Spencer Reid seeing you in mind. You had mentally prepared for seeing him. And yet; panic.
However, instead of making a scene about how anxious that thought made you, you force a small smile onto your face and murmur out, "That's fine."
"Are you sure?" Penelope presses. "You can hover around me the entire night to avoid him, if you want. I'll stay away from him. I'm really sorry for inviting him."
You didn't like that. "No. Pen, it's okay. He's your friend."
"So are you."
Your heart stuttered in your chest at her words, a warm feeling spreading throughout it. But, ultimately, you were not the person who wants perfectly good friendships ruined because you're too scared to hold a relationship together.
"I'll get drunk enough and start talking to him anyways. It's fine," you reassure her.
And get drunk enough you did.
You had bumped into him a few times already, making awkward eye contact when you passed him on your way to the kitchen for another drink, or to the bathroom to fix your corset that felt like it was getting tighter every breath you took.
Yet here you were, stuck between the fridge and him, a collection of things you wanted to both beg him for, and cuss him out because of, sitting delicately on the tip of your tongue, waiting for the right trigger word from him.
Unsuccessfully, for he was rocking back on his heels, clasping his hands around the glass of water he was nurturing, keeping the peace between you two and staying silent.
And you couldn't have that.
"Hi. How are you?" you chirp after closing the fridge, a can you were getting for Penelope and not yourself now settled between your hands.
"Hi. I'm good," he says, sending you an all too familiar tight lipped smile. One he always did when he was feeling awkward. "How are you?"
"This is really formal," you say, tilting your head to the side. "I'm good."
He nods his head in agreement, and you find every curse word you had ready to yell at him dissipate in an instant. "I like your costume. Swan?"
"Yes," you nod your own head, forcing the flutter of your heart to stop.
You weren't sure what he was when you had first arrived to the party, but a few short exchanged words between the two of you revealed the fake teeth he had settled in his mouth, confirming Penelope's earlier guess that he was a vampire.
Fitting, you had almost said then.
"I like yours too," you say after a few beats of awkward silence and you realising you hadn't said much after his compliment.
"Thank you."
It was an awkward song and dance around the elephant in the room (your relationship, or lack thereof). An even more awkward interaction of him reaching behind you into the fridge to get out a drink for Morgan, and then a breathless apology when he had gotten a bit too close and you hadn't had a conscious enough mind to step back.
"I don't like this," you blurt out.
"What?"
"This. Us," you clarify. "Being awkward. Not talking. We talk fine when we hook up."
Because yes, there's that secret you were keeping hidden away from Penelope.
"We're preoccupied during that."
"I'd argue seeing each other naked once a week is much more awkward than bumping into each other drunk, at a party."
"I'm not drunk."
Right. You knew that. Spencer Reid didn't drink. It was why the cup in his hand was only water, and the alcoholic beverage in his other wasn't for him.
If you were any less buzzed you probably wouldn't say the unfortunately very embarrassing sentence you let leave your lips, that sounded a little foreign even to you.
"Then do we need to see each other naked tonight to make this not awkward?"
His lips parted and he froze, rightfully so. You weren't sure how you'd react to somebody asking you that either. It seemed awfully blunt for even you, and if you were any sane person, you'd probably be backtracking to take it back. Instead, you were just as frozen as him, fearful for how he would respond.
"No," he says, but there was a strain in his voice that told you otherwise. Thankfully, you had enough self restraint to not call him out on that.
"No?" you tilt your head to the side.
"No, we don't need to. Do you want to?"
Does it make you a horrible person to say yes? To take advantage of one of the many rooms littering the Rossi house, and use a situational run-in to have sex with your ex-boyfriend?
Probably.
"Yes. Do you?"
"I like how you look tonight."
Your heart rate speeds up. "That isn't an answer."
"Yes," he says. "I do."
The kitchen was left empty with a glass of water and two unopened cans on the countertop, that Derek Morgan was no doubt bound to discover when Spencer never returns. Followed closely by — probably — Penelope discovering the same about you. Which would probably lead to the discovery of the friends (were you friends?) with benefits situation the two of you had.
You've barely stepped into the spare room he had located before he's kissing you. Feverishly, devouring you whole, as your back is pressed up against the door. Your wings dug into your shoulder blades, the feathers tickling your arms, and yet you couldn't find it in you to care.
"Spencer."
His response to your plea of his name is to kiss you harder, fingers entangling in your hair, and you think if he pushes against you any more, you'll meld to the atoms of the door.
"You taste like alcohol," he mutters against your lips.
"Funny that."
"Are you drunk?"
"I'll remember this all in five minutes, if that's what you mean."
"Sort of."
His mouth detaches from yours, and there's a desperation in the way he kisses down your neck you don't think you'll ever get used to, no matter how many times he does it.
It was a heartbreaking reality of the difference between how he would have sex with you then, and now.
It's his grumbling that forces you to focus on him again, and not the comparative thoughts you have whirring in your brain. His fingers are fumbling with the lacing on your back, as he says, irritation you find almost hilarious in his tone, "I hate corsets."
"You said you liked it earlier."
"I liked it when I wasn't trying to take it off of you."
You smile. "I'll wear something more convenient for you next time."
"Yes. Thank you," he nods, successfully loosening the lacing enough so he could take the corset off of your body. "T-shirts are good."
"Duly noted."
"Or nothing. Nothing's better," he adds, leaning in to kiss you again, his hands dropping to your chest — completely bare, considering you couldn't justify the wearing of a bra beneath the corset.
"I'll ask the board."
You feel him smile against your lips, his hands cupping your chest, thumbs delicately running over your nipples to elicit a breathless whine from you. Ever so careful, he uses his thumbs to circle them, amused with just how easy it was to fluster you.
His lips trail down from your lips again, his hands dropping to your waist, using his hips to nudge you towards the bed.
The backs of your knees hit the edge of the bed and you wince, although any pain dissipates as he murmurs a gentle apology and lowers the two of you to the bed.
It's quite amusing; the articles of clothing you're removing from your bodies. You didn't think feathered wings and a Dracula-esque cape piling together on the floor would be a sight you ever saw in this context, and yet.
"What do you want, honey?" he asks you, though your brain is a little preoccupied with his pulling of your skirt down your legs, fingers brushing against your skin. He forces your focus back onto him again with the calling of your name, and a kiss to your inner thigh.
"What're you willing to give me?"
"You know I'd do anything."
Your heart soars. Yes, you do know that. He loves to prove that feat to you.
"I don't know," you shake your head. "Whatever you want. You choose. My gift to you this Halloween."
It was a tradition you had started with him three years ago, on your first Halloween together. You knew how important the holiday was to him, and so you had bought him a plethora of decor for his apartment (on top of what he already had). You had helped him set it up, and later that week he had gifted you a charm bracelet with a pumpkin clasp. Every Halloween since, you bought him more decor, and he bought you a Halloween inspired charm for the bracelet.
This was your first Halloween where you weren't together.
"I didn't get you a charm."
"That's okay," you reply, earnestly.
"You're so wet," is voice is breathless, changing the topic of conversation awfully quickly. For his eyes had dropped to the only item of clothing you still had on, and his fingers had trailed far enough up your thighs to brush over it.
"Do something about it then," you retort, bluntly, and he smiles amusedly.
He probably murmurs something about you being a brat, but his hands were pulling your underwear down your legs, and you should not be expected to focus on two maddening things at once.
Thankfully, he does do something about it. And quite quickly, too. Wasting no time teasing like he usually does, instead attaching his lips to your core, tugging a moan from your lips.
His tongue licks a stripe up the centre of your folds, circling your clit, expertly so.
"Oh God," you whine out, breathlessly, head falling backwards and digging into the mattress beneath. Sinful as it was, Spencer's tongue on you did feel like the closest thing you'd ever have to a religious experience, a thought that had crossed your mind the many times he's done this before.
Once he's sure his tongue flicking over your clit had worked you up enough, you're forced into shock as you feel one of his fingers at your entrance. Lack of hand-eye coordination aside, he's well versed in the art of using two different body parts at once to make you come, and yet you're still writhing beneath him like it's the first time.
Sometimes it felt like it was.
"Spencer," you nearly cry out, if not for your hand flying to your mouth to muffle how loud you had anticipated you'd be.
He pulls his lips away at that, instead lifting his head to hover over yours, as he pushes a single finger inside you. Even when your eyes flutter closed and your head tilts back further, you can still feel his gaze on you, as if in awe of the way you looked.
"That was so easy," he murmurs, leaning down to kiss your cheek. "You really did want me to do this tonight, hm?"
Too wrapped up in the feeling of being touched by him again, all you can do is nod your head, and you feel him smile against your cheek.
"Yeah, I know, sweet girl."
He captures your lips again, swallowing a string of moans that leave your lips when he begins to move his finger in and out. Finger that becomes fingers, for he's pushing another one in, and you're arching your back up as you attempt to accomodate to the stretch.
"I know, I know," he repeats when your head jerks back as your lips part in another, this time silent, moan. "I shouldn't have missed last week, hey? I'm sorry I was out of state."
You want to tell him it's okay. That you didn't really mind being celibate for an extra seven days on top of the six the two of you leave between your nights together. Unfortunately, growing accustomed to a once a week cycle meant the interruption of it left you overwhelmingly easy to shatter with the simplest of touches. You did mind, so you kept your thoughts to yourself.
"Please," you ask him, almost pathetically, when he curls his fingers and your entire brain goes fuzzy.
"Please what, honey?"
You're not sure what. More of his fingers? His tongue back on you? You want it all. Yet, time was unfortunately of the essence, and you were acutely aware of the ticking alarm clock in view on the bedside table. You did not have the minutes to receive absolutely everything you wanted from him.
"Want you to fuck me," you murmur.
He breathes out a laugh. "I know. I'm going to, I promise. I just need to get you ready first, okay? How're you feeling?"
"Ready." Your voice is an impatient grumble, one that amuses him greatly, which frustrates you even more.
"I don't think so," he shakes his head, pushing his fingers back inside of you to elicit a sharp whine from your lips. "I want to do this a little longer, anyways."
"Spencer."
Your protest and attempt to bribe him with a kiss is hopeless, for he is continuing to pump his fingers in and out of you, using your arguably selfish kiss to quiet every single sound you make.
It isn't until you're quite literally writhing beneath him and begging him with an incessant repeat of his name, does he pull his fingers out of you. Tapping your lower lip with them, you take his fingers into your mouth, despite your panting and attempts at catching your breath.
You want to close your eyes, but the way he's looking at you as you suck on his fingers is borderline ridiculous, and you should probably be locked up for just how attracted to it you are.
He trails his fingers out of your mouth after a few moments, but any desire to protest that is lost on you when your eyes catch his removal of his boxers.
He disappears from above you for only a minute, though he knows you too well and says, "I'm getting a condom," before you have a chance to start complaining about it. By the time he's returned, he's kissing you again, and you've forgotten all about your irritation.
The head of his cock pushes at your entrance, and you're already a mess. He's slow as he eases into you, and you're eternally grateful for it, because your entire body tenses up, and he's forced to pause, and ease your muscles with his hands kneading your thighs.
"I'm sorry," he says, genuinely, when your eyes squeeze shut, and you're back to remembering why you're not happy about the dreadful thirteen day celibacy he forced upon you. But he's so nice, and so apologetic, that as he bottoms out, your hands are wrapping around his neck to provide him with silent forgiveness.
He stays still for a few more moments, his lips tickling your jawline. His breath fans your skin, warm, and just as desperate as your own, which is comforting.
"Tell me when you're okay," he says, quietly, breathing out a moan when your walls flutter around him.
After a beat, you murmur, "I'm okay," and he pulls his hips back, before rolling them back into you, slowly.
You're a puddle of content and pleasure and love as he repeats the gentle motions of fucking you, moaning and squirming beneath him, despite his hands on your hips in an attempt to keep you still.
"Doing so well for me, honey," he tells you after a few minutes, and heat warms your cheeks at the compliment. He laughs at your bashful smile. "You feel so good."
He moves his hips a little faster, and you're moaning again, hands dropping from his neck to the mattress. At that, he picks up his ministrations once again. All up until all the tender, slow motions are gone, and he's listening to your throat produce broken whines and pleas, his own presenting breathless groans.
"Spencer," you gasp out at one particular thrust, and he's instantly repeating that same deep movement. "Oh fuck."
"Like that?" he asks you, tenderly, and you're frantically nodding your head. "God, look at you. You're so pretty when I do this to you, you know?"
Vulgarity — in any form — coming from Spencer Reid's mouth should sound foreign, and yet it doesn't. Though, perhaps you're too lost in the pleasure of just how good he feels to believe he's anything but perfect.
"I want to come," you tell him, a disguised plea.
"Okay. I can make that happen."
You know he can. He's proven it a thousand times, you're sure.
One of his hands drops to your cunt, fingers finding your clit and timing the circles onto it with his thrusts, until you're pretty sure there is no longer a coherent thought in your brain that isn't simply him.
If his aim was to turn you into a mess with very little time, he was excelling above average. Your hands had grabbed fistfuls of the duvet cover atop of the bed, your mouth producing nothing but a constant repeat of, "Please," and "Spencer," one after the other.
He wasn't surviving very well, either, you found. His breathing heavy and his thrusts growing sloppier by the second, until he was feeling your own walls clench around him with your stomach tying itself into a knot.
He forced his hips to keep moving, albeit much more messy now, as he moaned against your skin, his own orgasm wracking through his body, while still attempting to chase your own.
It didn't take much more than that, to be honest, and your entire body went boneless and shattered beneath him as you came too.
Jelly seemed like an apt description for what you felt as you relaxed in the bed and your nerves began to calm down, Spencer breathing heavily above you. Up until he was sliding out of you, and standing up on legs you could see shaking, perhaps just as much as your own.
He's disposing of his condom as you lay there, attempting to regain your breath, eyes fixated on the ceiling above you. He's shuffling around more than you'd expect for a simple trash trip, but then you feel hands on your ankles, and your head snaps down to find him kneeling at the foot of the bed, gently tugging your underwear back up your legs.
"I know it's not ideal," he says, when your face scrunches up as the piece of fabric lands back on your hips. "But I also know your skirt is too short to not wear these."
"I'll get over it," you reply, letting him redress you with delicate fingers that leave your entire body hot, with goosebumps rising on the skin.
"Yeah," he agrees, though half-heartedly, expert fingers clasping your bra back onto your body.
Once your skirt is back on, he helps you up into a seated position, helping to reapply the feathered head piece you had on.
It's oddly intimate, way he's kneeling in front of you, breath warm against your face as he clips the feathers into your hair. Your breathing hitches as his hands drop back to your thighs upon finishing, and you swallow the lump in your throat.
"Everybody's gonna know what we did," you say, quietly, for it was true. You two had been gone for too long of a time for people to not draw correct conclusions.
"They already know we do." Hook up.
"What? How?"
"You need to stop telling Garcia things."
Your face falls, and he smiles, sympathetically, thumbs drawing gentle circles on the skin of your thighs.
"At least you don't work with them."
"I guess there's that," you confirm with a small nod.
He's silent for a few more moments, simply staring at you and studying your face, before he sighs, and goes to pick up your corset.
"You need to go to the bathroom after this," he instructs you, though gently, motioning for you to stand up and turn around so he could do up the dreaded lacing.
"I know. Don't worry."
"Good," he replies, your skin tingling with every extra bit of pressure he put on your back as he laced up your corset. "You feel okay?"
"Yes," you nod your head. "Do you?"
"I do," he confirms for you, tying off the lacing and tapping your hip so you could turn back around.
You do, and your eyes flicker up to his face. "Do you also promise not to make me wait two weeks again?"
"I'll talk to the board."

──────────────────────
it was madness on the other line... to the point where it made you really stop and think and just look around, thinking to yourself; "damn, i'm grateful i haven't run into guy trouble this bad..."
you sighed as you listened to your best friend on the other end of the phone who was caught up in a whirlwind of frustration with her current situationship.
still, she's your best friend - and you're happy that she can confide in you when things go south, so there you were, offering whichever little pieces of advice you have to your bestie, as you were curled up on the sofa with a blanket over your legs, as you wore one of your man's t-shirts that was much too big on you... having sips of your tea in steady intervals.
you murmured just the right responses as she went onto you about this guy. you listened intently and hummed in total agreement when she was speaking.
it was your mission to help your best friend out.
that was until your boyfriend, kylian, had come downstairs, approaching you, having just come out of the shower - topless with a a pair of nike sweats on.
you had to pay attention to your friend though, so you just smiled and batted your lashes at him flirtatiously, since you still had to let him know that he looks insanely good.
if only you'd known that doing so was gonna be a big mistake.
your nonchalant flit of your lashes was enough to make kylian smirk... it was enough for him to be fully convinced that he's got your attention now.
lord, you could catch the scent of his ridiculously expensive cologne from where you were sitting.
he strides on over to you, as his sexy smirk had turned into a soft bite of his bottom lip while he took the sight of you in as he got closer to you. kylian didn't say a word while doing so... he just lowered himself down close to you on the sofa, and rested his head in your lap, seeking the soothing feeling of your fingers on his nape.
you mouthed silently to him as you momentarily held your phone away from your ear - "behave, baby."
kylian? he just smirked.
you rolled your eyes in a playful manner as you turned your attention back to your best friend who was on the other line, continuing to spill the tea.
"no, yeah. like... i totally get it," you told her, determined to stay this attentive to her predicament, which sounded pretty dire - or she at least made it sound like that was so...
"...honestly, girl... he's not even worth your time. he's just been playing games, it's not cool one bit."
you said it plain and simple, feeling a pang of pride at your skills in giving relationship advice.
but a sensation graced you just then so well in a way that make you nearly lose grip of your phone.
kylian had shifted in the slightest to press a tender kiss near the inside of your thigh.
"no, y/n... you've got business to take care of on the phone here..." you told yourself in your thoughts, the only person able to hear that being you.
"like... if he seriously cared, then you wouldn't doubt him. you wouldn't feel stressed being in the position that you're in. you'd be- ah..."
your words... your entire train of thought was halted, no... more like completely obliterated already as kylian only began to kiss up your thigh, higher, higher...
"you there? you okay?" your best friend asked on the other end.
"...yeah. he's just... not worth the bother, girl..." you trailed.
as kylian was deliberately pressing those soft, slow, lazy kisses up your leg, inching closer to alongside your hip... you glared at him in a way that said stop it right now. he, on the other hand, looked up at you with a smug grin and let out a soft chuckle as he went back to practically worshipping you with his lips.
you wanted to be a good friend and hear your bestie on the other line out.
kylian made it an incredibly difficult task.
but lord, you would be lying to yourself if you said you actually wanted him to stop. he was challenging your task at hand... the attention given between him and your best friend on the line becoming less divisive...
because he was stealing it all.
kylian's starting to enjoy this too much. his fingers slyly made way to hook right at the hem of the t-shirt you wore, which was much too large for you considering that it is his after all.
once he sat up so that he could press his lips to your collarbone, simultaneously lifting your top by the bottom hem... you couldn't conceal the hitch of your breath.
"y/n." your best friend said... now more sternly.
"i'm paying attention, yeah-! right, go on-"
you swear that kylian is gonna be the death of you, all because of this moment.
"i don't know what to do anymore. i think i should just give up on guys... for good. once and for all."
kylian kept up the teasing touches... his fingertips grazing the bare skin of your waist that was covered by the t-shirt only seconds ago. you were barely there on call, anymore. but you had to focus, focus, focus...
you started, "no, girl... don't say that, you just-"
and at that exact moment that your sentence was cut off, it was all kylian's fault. then and there... you felt his lips press gently below your ear. your weak spot.
what were you left to do?
you pressed your thighs together as he kissed you there... you couldn't help but whine just a little bit.
and you knew you couldn't do anything about it now that your best friend had heard.
"wait- are you okay? you sound weird." she asked.
"oh, nothing- i just... shifted the wrong way on the couch." you managed to speak.
you could feel kylian chuckling softly, his lips still lingering just beneath your ear. lord, you wanna kill him! but him? he doesn't care. he only wants you... as if he even has to tell you, for the way he's been kissing you for the past bit has made it more than clear.
kylian's lips grazed the shell of your ear... before finally speaking to you in a hushed, sultry tone.
"hang up, bébé."
you exhaled deeply, coming to terms.
the more your french man coerced you into a trance, the less help you were being to your best friend on the other line. you were seriously losing this battle.
you looked at yourself... barely there as your friend went on about how she thinks she should at least take a break from guys.
kylian's palms splayed across your body... one hand with a firm grip on your thigh... the other hand's fingers splayed across your belly. he didn't even need to put into words how much he could just devour you here and now, for his look did all the talking needed.
your man had you absolutely finished.
"hey, you know, let me call you back in a few minutes. i just remembered i need to go and take care of something." you lied, proceeding to just pray and hope your friend would let you go.
"alright... don't take forever though, girl. do your thing. seeya!" she replied.
immediately, the pad of your thumb darted to tap the red circular button on your touchscreen that'd hang up the call.
and just when you were about to deliver all the scolding you had pent up...
kylian swiftly captured your lips with his own, kissing you hungrily, yet with a tender, soft sort of passion behind it all. you melted into it, as you could feel his fingers pressing into the skin of your waist like he was deprived of you like never before.
he moaned into your mouth quietly before pulling away just barely, your lips still brushing his.
"you are soooo..." you started
"you were taking too long, ma belle." he murmured softly against your lips. "just needed your attention."
you laughed to yourself softly and brought your hand right back to the first place that you had touched him this morning - the nape of his neck. "you're so annoying, kyky."
"and you love me. i felt you folding under all the pressure~" kylian quipped, quickly pulling you into his lap with one swift movement of his strong arms around you, only making you blush more as you straddled him... he kept one hand splayed on your thigh, squeezing lovingly.
"babeeee..." you complained, the sarcasm in your voice obvious, because let's face it... why would you ever want kylian's fine self to stop? your gaze soon met his again.
with that, he planted another loving kiss to your lips... giving another soft squeeze to your thigh.
"mmmh... your friend's not getting a call back from you any time soon, bébé."

Hi Jade! I’ve been on my criminal minds rerun and it made me come up with this Spencer request if you’re taking them right now! Something along the lines of the reader and Spencer being together and she becomes pregnant but he pieces it together before she does!
tysm for requesting! hope this is ok♡ 1k
cw fem!reader has a positive attitude towards her pregnancy. vaguely adult theme
"I really don't think I can go," you say, flopping down on the bed.
Spencer laughs and shakes out the shirt in his hands, hoping the creases from the dryer will iron themselves before dinner tonight. "You always say that."
"I really mean it this time. I miss Hotch, I do, and I'm glad he's out of WITSEC, but thinking about the restaurant is making me queasy."
"Really? I looked it up, it's a nice place. They have their Grade A, it should be spotless in there. I'm pretty sure they almost got a Michelin star."
You groan, turning onto your side. "I looked too. The entire menu is seafood," you whine.
"What's wrong with that?" Spencer asks, giving you a quizzical look.
"The smell." You rub your nose against his pillow and sigh. "I don't feel good. Didn't rough me up in my sleep, did you?"
"I would never do that," he says, putting the last of the laundry aside to sit by your hip. His hand rests naturally against the slight curve of your side, fingertips pushing the hem of your shirt up enough to steal a glance at your back.
He wouldn't say this aloud and it doesn't matter, but you've gained a little weight recently. Actually, it does matter in that he thinks it's adorable, but he knows that telling your partner they've gained weight is a faux pas. He likes it, anyhow. It's happy weight.
Things are so serious now but they don't feel serious. There's no solemness in your relationship, just comfort. He's putting on weight in tandem.
"You really don't want to go?" Spencer asks. The earlier he lets Hotch know the better.
You wrap an arm around your stomach. "Sorry, Spence. I'm so sorry, I've felt sick all day and I think it'll just be a repeat of yesterday morning." You puked before breakfast, the smell of eggs too much to bear.
Spencer feels it click into place then and there. The weight, the puking, your changing taste. Your sore chest and lower back, your sensitivity.
He pushes you gently, a hand on your hip to encourage you down. Careful, he lays down next to you, propping his head on the pillow as he brings hand up to hold you. He can't know for sure… but if you're pregnant as he suspects, it fits. And more than that, it's insane. He doesn't know how to handle this besides wrapping you up in his arms. He'll keep you forever, if he can.
"Don't be sorry," he says, his voice faraway. You relax completely in his arms, sliding your leg over his to lock him in. "Does your back still hurt?"
"My chest, Spence," you lament, "it feels like I'm winded. I think I'm coming down with something. Maybe you shouldn't be near me."
"In that case, I'm staying right here."
You laugh softly, the warmth of it a circle on his shoulder. "I can call Hotch myself and say sorry. I'll feel better in a few days, and we'll reschedule, and I'll pay even if he tries to."
Spencer draws a line up your back. Now or never.
He steels his nerves, the beginning of a hypothesis hesitating on his tongue. Your symptoms in addition to your irregular period and your regular sex lives points toward pregnancy. How does he say that? How should he say it? Should he even bring it up? Perhaps he should wait until you discover it yourself. And you aren't definitely pregnant, it's just a possibility. Maybe you're simply sick—
"Hey, earth to handsome," you whisper, cupping his cheek in your soft palm. You smile as he snaps out of his thoughts. "Hey. I lost you for a few seconds, where'd you go?"
"Nowhere. I'm here."
Your smile gets impossibly fond. It's not dissimilar to how you usually look at him. "Are you okay?"
"Fine. I love you."
"I love you," you say.
There's something about you now, this gaussian blur to you. Sunlight seeps in lazily through the blinds thick as honey, a golden kiss to your skin where you lay face to face with him, and your I love you makes him want to cry. This is all ridiculous and amazing and he doesn't know what to do, doesn't know how to make his mouth move into the right words.
"What is it?" you ask. You know him better than anyone.
"I think you're pregnant." Spencer winces, though he can't beat his smile into submission. "I mean. You could be pregnant."
"Why do you think that?" you ask, visibly startled.
"Your sensitivity to strong smells, your soreness, your late period, to name the more obvious. That's not factoring in your worsening low iron lately, and your headaches." You make a strange sound he doesn't like. "What?" he asks worriedly.
"I'm late," you say into yourself, looking past him as you puzzle it over.
"It's a good thing, if you are. I mean, it's an amazing thing if you want it to be. I'm saying everything wrong. It's only amazing if you want it to be, I want it to be. But I'm on your side no matter what." He grimaces into his hands, rubbing his face with both palms.
You sit as he panics. He clicks his neck looking up, racing to follow you, alarmed as you shimmy down the bed toward the ensuite bathroom.
"What are you–"
"I'm gonna take a test."
"Wait a second." Spencer catches your hands before you can get too far, pulling you back to the end of the bed to sit down. "Wait. Is it– is it bad? If you are?"
You look down at your stomach briefly. Anyone else might miss it, but Spencer can't not follow your behaviour, and the way you're acting now makes him think he got it wrong. That you won't be happy.
You grab Spencer's hand. "You know, it's not funny. All our friends are gonna ask how I found out, and I'm gonna have to admit that you noticed it first." Your eyes track up his face almost shyly, and soon your smile is as blistering as his.
Spencer bends under your weight as you jump up, throwing your arms behind his neck, your lips smashed to his ear. "I love you," you whisper urgently, "so much. This is good, right? This is really good."
"Are you kidding?" he asks incredulously.
Spencer takes your face into two hands and kisses you as hard as he ever has. He realises a second in that he'd much rather be squeezing you, caging you into the circle of his arms unrepentant.
"We have a really good excuse to miss dinner," Spencer says.
He sounds close to tears. You're worse, laughing wetly as you pull him into the bathroom to take your test.

Just gonna say from the top I have not been paying much attention to 9-1-1 spoilers or spec so I'm coming at this from a place of Lou posted a rooftop pic around the same time there was bts of 9-1-1 filming on a rooftop. I know nothing else. I also haven't watched past 8x6 so 🤷♀️
something in the orange
Buck has never really been one for a lot of quiet introspection. He's done the therapy, worked at it, worked on himself - but at the end of the day his downtime typically means he's got a book in hand, a Substack to dive into, his phone open to distract his brain long enough for his body to relax. He doesn't do quiet time. He needs to have something to do with his hands, needs his eyes focused on something other than a horizon line.
He's at the tail-end of a q-word shift and Ravi's already inventoried half the station, there hasn't been anything to clean for at least an hour, and it's not like he can go bug Eddie to keep himself occupied.
(And that's a train of thought better left for the scones he's gonna bake tonight, even if Eddie's kitchen is laid out terribly for baking.)
The sunset is gorgeous.
It's not - quiet, exactly. You don't really get quiet, in LA, at any time of the day or night, but it's calm. Peaceful. Traffic runs smoothly, for a given value of smooth, down below. There's a soft breeze. The sun has warmed the rooftops of the city all day, and that extra hour baked them well, so even as it sets the gravel beneath his feet radiates just the right amount of heat.
Buck tilts his head back to watch a fluffy cloud drift across the sky, and takes stock.
He's a fucking mess, but that seems to be beside the point, right now.
Chris is pissed at Eddie but reluctantly speaking to him, and it seems like maybe there's something going on with Eddie's mom but it's not like Eddie comes to him until -
Nope.
Maddie's recovering, and the baby is fine. She'll scar, though, and Buck doesn't quite know how to reconcile that. She's been bruised, bloody, terrified, mad as hell, out of her mind and settling back into it but there's never been lasting physical evidence before and he's -
Making it all about himself, again.
Bobby and Athena are circling in on a place to live, finally, and he's happy for them, ecstatic, can't wait to watch Bobby man a grill again and have everyone - well, mostly everyone -
New line of thought, actually.
Chim seems to be holding it together extraordinarily well, considering, but Buck's not entirely sure he'd know otherwise: he's got Hen for that.
Must be nice, he thinks, and then immediately slams a foot down in an attempt to not be such a selfish, miserable bastard.
Two nights ago he'd watched Taylor Kelly do a special news report covering the wildfire recovery efforts, and she'd looked good - beautiful, healthy, with that fire behind her eyes when a story has some juice to it. And he'd watched, start to finish, and he'd selfishly wondered if she ever actually thought about him, other than an aside about the guy who'd kissed another woman and then railroaded her into living with him.
And he never knows what the hell is going on with Ravi but apparently he bought another block of condos.
So it's like -
It's just -
He's so fucking lonely.
It's not a new feeling, exactly. He's been on his own for a lot of his life. Always latching on to whoever holds eye contact long enough for him to start an info-dump. But all of his people are reaching all of these milestones, or dealing with their own shit, and even though he's made an attempt, the casual hookups just aren't doing much in the department of letting Buck unload all of his issues like he wants.
Which is why everyone ends up leaving, apparently. He takes too much, demands too much, makes things about himself, and it's not the first time he's had to square up with that but it still fucking hurts. He still doesn't know how to fix it.
Gold melts across the skyline as the sun dips low low low, and the door to the roof opens up, and Buck tips his head back again. Closes his eyes and tries to place the footfalls making their way across to him. Feels his chest tighten around the face that materializes behind his eyes and swallows it back, because that isn't happening.
He keeps his eyes closed and enjoys the last streak of heat as the sun dips below the horizon.
Gravel crunches just behind him.
"Hey," says a voice, soft and warm and always just a little surprisingly pitchy for the barrel of a chest it's coming out of.
When he blinks his eyes back open he's greeted with the underside of Tommy Kinard's chin. In the fading light the dip of his cleft is more pronounced, and his hair has streaks of pink in the barrel of the curl, light bouncing off the clouds and making a home on Tommy's crown, and Buck has to bite back the urge to shove out of his chair and tuck his whole body into the circle of his arms. They're not - this isn't -
Tommy's hand drops, warm and huge and comforting in a way Buck always leaned into like a cat, to the dip of Buck's shoulder.
He can't really find any words. He's had - so fucking many words, things he wants to say, things he wants someone to hear, but now they're all stuck in his throat or lost to the breeze kicking up around him.
God, Buck has missed him.
Tommy's eyes dart back and forth across his face, jaw tight as he takes in the sight, his posture all sorts of uncomfortable, and Buck just wants -
Just five minutes. Just. Enough time to watch the pinks fade to purple and blue. He tips his head back just enough that his skull meets the give of Tommy's stomach, and Tommy's hand squeezes.
They watch the sky streak with color and fade, and Buck thinks: if this is it, at least it's a softer landing than he'd had before.

masterlist
you watched as a boy walked away from your sister, you smiled at him as he passed you.
he tried to smile back but failed immediately, the frown winning him over, he looked down the ground instead.
he walked away, shaking his head and tipping his hat off every now and then in frustration.
your face immediately converted into full worry as you glanced at your sister who seemed to be deep in thought.
you walked over to her slowly, the green grass beneath you falling as you stepped on them quite carefully.
the sky was as blue as it could get and it was a clear sunny day, and you loved it.
the trees danced with the wind softly as the birds living in them seemed to be singing along, chirping.
you smiled at maggie as you approached her. "hey." she greeted you, you beamed at her once again.
"maggie, was that glenn?" you asked in worry and wiggled your eyebrows at her, she shook her head giving you a small smile.
"just a crazy asian with a name." she responded, you nodded and continued looking for eggs at the chicken coops.
"well, i think the only thing about him crazy is about you." you replied back as you bent down to pick up an egg.
"trust me, he doesn't know what he wants, or what he is crazy about." she fought back, determined to make you know.
"i think he's old enough to know what he wants." you tried to defend the boy you hardly knew.
"you done there? how many eggs did nessie lay?" she changed the subject you looked at the chicken you and maggie, along with beth named a year before the apocalypse started.
"she's healthy... she has four babies." you said excited, you looked at maggie through your lashes and she groaned, looking away.
"no! you're not keeping one to raise as a pet!" she immediately shut your thought down even before you said them.
"just one? just one little chick?" you asked and pouted when she shook her head again.
"no." she said, her mind is settled on 'no chickens inside the house, baby or not!'
"but, it's gonna be so cute when it's hatched and grown a bit!" you exclaimed in excitement, imagining the chick running around the house.
"no..." she shook her head and said your full name making you pout, she really wasn't going to change her mind.
"i'll take care of it, feed it, and bathe it." you promised her, even holding your right hand up as a sign.
"and what will you feed it?" she raised an eyebrow at you, continuing to check the coop.
"my bread, i get two pieces every morning, i'll save one for it to eat the whole day." you planned slowly, not entirely sure.
"it's a baby." she pressed on and you nodded in agreement, you smiled at her.
"when you and glenn go on a run... w–will you get me a formula and the thing to feed it with? if you ever came across one, don't risk your life for it, okay?" you rambled to her.
"fine." she finally gave in, making you smile in delight. you beamed at her and hugged her so tight
"thank you, mags!" you kissed her cheeks and she smiled, she really loved making you happy.
"take care of it, okay? don't let it die." she reminded you sternly and you nodded.
"i see how glenn looks at you, maggie... i think he really likes you." you gave her a bright smile and handed her the basket full of eggs.
she didn't reply and checked the coops for more eggs, "no more eggs." she said.
she took the basket from you, "I'll check out the stables, you should go in." you told her sweetly.
she nodded and looked around, then she stopped her gaze before looking away after giving a nod.
you looked around but can't seem to find anyone. "was that glenn?" you asked her, your brows furrowed in confusion.
"no, take care at the stables. scream for help if anything happens." she said, care and worry evident in her voice.
"okay! i'm going to check out nervous nelly, i need to ease her nerves." you tried to joke and maggie rolled her eyes with a smile.
"careful." she warned one last time, you nodded and took a few steps back, waving at her happily.
"bye, maggie!" you shouted when she was far enough. she nodded and finally turned around and started walking to the house.
you turned around and walked to the stables slowly, humming to yourself.
you passed by a campsite rather far than the others, you stopped a bit and analyzed it.
it had squirrels hanging around a line and a tent that was beside a rock structure.
you walked forward, curiosity winning the best of you. your boots stopped outside the tent.
it was closed and you looked towards the house, which was quite far from here.
you heard grunts and moans inside suddenly making you wonder if it was one of your neighbors before the turn.
you kneeled by the soft green grass, your dress covering your knees from the rocks and dirts that may stick to your knees.
"hello?" you asked and waited for a response, then right after there was a string of curses.
then the tent opened, you stood up and took a few steps back for safety.
then a man came out, probably a lot older than you. he then scowled when he saw you.
"are you with mr. grimes?" you asked him politely and walked near him.
he didn't answer so you frowned, was he mute or deaf? you can't tell but you were sure he was very bothered with your presence.
you suddenly felt embarrassed, he was probably sleeping and you woke him up, at least you saved him from his nightmares, right?
"i'm sorry, did i wake you up?" you asked as you were the type of girl who really wants to know everything.
"doesn't matter." he grunted and you smiled, so he wasn't deaf or mute at all!
"i thought you were a walker 'cause you were groaning..." you confessed shyly.
his face turns red and looks away from you, why was he embarrassed? it isn't embarrassing to have nightmares, even you still have nightmares.
"was it nightmares? even though it isn't night anymore..." you asked him, your eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
he took a few seconds before hesitantly nodding, you spot a log near him and walked towards it, sitting.
"i have nightmares too, you don't have to be embarrassed about it. it's totally normal." you comforted him, squinting your eyes at him as you smiled.
"how'd ye end up here? isn't your daddy gon' come crazy lookin for ya?" he asked in a mocking manner.
"no, i told maggie that i'll be checking the stables for nelly, she's always nervous..." you said as you scratched your neck.
"the stables tha' way." he told you pointing at the stables, a bit of a distance from him.
"yeah, i know. i've lived here all my life." you told him in a matter-of-fact tone.
"so why are ye here?" he asked, you shook your head at him.
"i was just curious who stayed here, it's so far from the others. are you being bullied? do you want me to tell dadd—" you rambled.
"nah, i jus' like my space. no nosy neighbor or anythin'." he admitted.
"okay, i'll get going, i just check up on you." you smiled at him and stood up from the log.
he grunted in response, you turned around to walk to the stables but stopped.
you turned to face him again, you caught eye contact with him.
"wait! what's your name?" you asked him, eyebrows furrowed in curiousity once again.
"daryl... dixon." he told you, still hesitantly, as always.
"okay! i'll come visit you tomorrow mr. dixon!" you said cheerfully.
you waved at him, a bright smile on your face. you turned around and continued your way to your original destination.
you can feel his stare burning through your back but you ignored it, was he so angry he was burning holes into you?
"daddy? who's been shot?" you asked as you went down the stairs rubbing your eyes.
your sister, beth, woke you up and said that someone has been shot, only a graze in the head and your daddy's already fixed it.
"who told you?" maggie asked as she handed you your cup of coffee, you took it with a smile and a good morning.
"beth, she woke me up." you said and maggie nodded.
"it's daryl." maggie responded to you for your father, seeing that her dad, your dad, who is also beth's dad is busy checking the medication stock.
"the one near the barn?" you asked her as you took a sip of the coffee, taking a seat on the counter as you played with the hem of your night dress.
"i guess so." maggie replied, finishing off her bread. then you remembered something.
"hey, where's my chick?" you asked her, jumping off the counter and scanning the cupboards for the eggs, ready to take one.
"what chick?" your dad butted in, having finished with checking the stocks.
"maggie told me yes, daddy." you quickly defended, still not explaining.
"told her she could keep an egg to raise, as long as she keeps it alive." maggie said.
you beamed at your daddy, plastering on your most charming and pleading eyes.
"you know i can't say no to you." your dad chuckled and shook his head.
"i know, daddy." you hugged him as he kissed the top of your head, ruffling it.
"are you coming with beth, maggie, patricia and jim for gun training?" your dad asked as you backed away from the hug.
"i don't feel like it today, daddy... not after beth interrupted my sleep." you glanced at your younger sister, teasing her.
"alright." he said with a huff, making you pout.
"is that okay with you, daddy?" you asked him for permission, he nodded once again.
"that's alright with me." he said, you smiled at him as you got back to your coffee.
"who's the ones staying behind?" you asked your older sister as you swing your legs back and forth.
"just you and daddy." she said, glancing out the window a little longer than a second.
"okay." you shrugged.
she glanced out the window again and kept on repeating it, making you worried for her.
"are you alright, do you see any walkers?" you asked her as you went near the window to take a glance.
she tried to stop you but it was already too late, you had already seen it.
"oh." you said and smiled at her, it was glenn having breakfast with the others who were living outside their house.
"you're so whipped for him, did something happen between you?" you asked her as you took a step back.
she turned red and avoided your gaze, you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion.
"did he hurt you?" you immediately asked your older sister as you were worried for her.
she shook her head, placing her empty cup on the sink.
"okay. i think i'll go check up on mr. dixon." you told her as you finished the rest of your coffee, placing it down on the counter.
she nodded and waved you off, you smiled and took a few steps back, before turning around and rushing upstairs.
you scanned the first guest room and saw that there was no one, so you closed it.
you took a few steps towards the second door and knocked on it softly.
you opened the door and found the man you were looking for, you smiled at him as he glanced at you.
"how are you feeling?" you asked as you walked towards him, gently closing the door behind you.
you sat at the side of the bed as you checked him, he looked pretty bruised.
you let the back of your hand feel his temperature, he flinched but didn't say anything else.
"as shitty as i look." he responded as he gazed up the ceiling, ignoring the aching pain in his head.
"i'm sure andrea didn't mean it, she thought you were one of them so she tried to shoot you to protect everyone else in this camp." you explained to him what you see in the situation.
he grunted, "sure she didn't." you frowned and nodded then gazed around the room.
"this is my favorite room." you told him as you analyzed him, from the bandages on his head to the dirts on his face and tattoos on his muscular chest.
"you've got two rooms?" he asked rather harshly, he can't blame himself as he's grown to always share things and the girl in front of him has two rooms.
"no, silly. i like to stay here when i'm feeling sad... i love the view by that window, you should check it before you guys find sophia and leave..." you smiled at him, the smile never faltering.
"ya want us to leave already?" he asked and you turned red, embarrassed.
"n—no! i kind of love having you guys here, it's not boring as before..." you told him as you fidgeted with your fingers.
"jus' teasin' ye." he smirked at you, making you sighed out in relief.
"what's your job before all of this?" you asked him as you put the rest of your body up the bed.
you crawled over to the head of the bed and laid your back against the headboard.
"what ye doin'?" he asked as he watched your every movement, you can feel his heated gaze at your skin.
"i'm sitting..." you stated the obvious and he groaned, deciding to let it go.
"so what's your job?" you asked him as you reached out to touch his hair.
he snapped his eyes at you making you giggle and pull away from him, pretending to do something else.
"jus' everything, as long as it gives money." he stated, his voice cold making you feel guilty.
it must have been bad memories and you had the audacity to bring it up.
"sorry, i didn't know it was a sensitive topic to you." you admitted as you laid down the bed.
you still kept a fair distance between the both of you as you laid in your back.
you turned to your side, facing him as he was still facing the ceiling.
"it wasn't." he argued making you nod, not truly believing the two words coming out of his mouth.
"have you had breakfast?" you asked him as you gazed at his side profile.
"'m not hungry." he told you, you still didn't believe him. you sat up and slide down the bed, getting on your feet.
"i'll make you something to eat." you told him as you smiled, walking towards the door, opening it as you went outside and closing it.
once you went outside to make him something to eat, he immediately darted his hand at his chest, breathing heavily.
"fuck." he cursed as he can feel his jeans tightening. he tried to shift it but failed miserably.
he had to make this quick if he doesn't want you to notice when you come back, or catch him on the act.
he shifted slightly, going up the bed and sitting up, back against the headboard.
he feels guilty, he wants to stop himself as he's having forbidden thoughts about you.
he was almost caught by you yesterday when you went to his little campsite.
he was jerking off, to the thought of you. he felt an invisible string of attraction when he saw you when they first arrived.
he loved the way you smiled at each one of them even though you hardly knew them.
he loved you in your cute dresses, almost as if teasing him with the below knee length.
everything you did had a meaning to him, with you going to check up on him and laying in bed with him.
he absolutely loved the feeling of your hand on his forehead when you checked his temperature.
call him obsessed but he grabbed the part of comforter you sat on.
he brought it to his face, sniffing it and immediately relaxing to the smell of you.
to the smell of honey and candy. he hates sweet smells but when it comes to you, he's totally head over heels for it.
he slowly unbuckled his belt and took it off, shifting with the buttons of his jeans as he slipped the zipper off.
he lifted his hips slightly as he lowered his jeans just below the butt.
he grabbed his semi-hard cock as he groaned just when he touched it.
he tried thinking of other things, imagining two people having sex or the pornographic photos merle showed him.
but his mind left drifting back to you, you and your cute dresses that had no intentions of teasing him ever intentionally.
the way you bent over to pick eggs from the chicken coop, showing a little bit of your legs.
he felt like a victorian man seeing some ankles, but instead he saw your legs.
it's not much but he gets a hard on when he glances at your milky white legs.
he raised his hand up and down as he threw his head back, he imagined the way your pretty little mouth would fit his cock in.
he could tell he would have a hard time fitting it in, if ever you and him happened.
he can picture you being a moaning mess beneath him as you cried his name in pleasure.
you, begging him to go faster as your nearing, you, clenching the sheets as you come all over his cock.
the way your breasts would wiggle when he thrusts into you from above and from behind.
he can see the way your cunt hugs around his cock as he had a hard time thrusting in.
but due to the pre-cum from both of you he will start having it easy but still hard due to your tight cunt.
he kept pumping his cock on his hand as he raised his hips, he then imagined fucking you over the window as you glanced at the beautiful view outside.
he stifled a moan when he moved his hands faster, then after a few seconds his hands was covered with his warm white liquid.
he could hear a slight shuffle as he wiped his hands on the towel on the bedside table, he stuffed his cock back in his jeans, fastening it and buckling his belt back.
he wiped his hands on the comforter, if it ever had any liquid left then covered half of his body with the comforter.
then just a minute later, the door opened, revealing you carrying a tray with a bright smile.
"here, coffee and bacon..." you placed the tray beside him as you took a chair and sat next to him.
"y'want?" he asked as he chewed on the bacon, you shook your head.
"daddy is busy, he's busy with carl." you told him as you stood up from the chair, going to one of the cupboard.
"so what?" he asked as he took a sip of his coffee, still chewing on the bacon.
"i'll be your nurse today, isn't that great? i'll get to know you more, mr. dixon." you smiled at him, turning your head back as you rummaged through the things inside.
you grabbed a roll of bandage and a few ointments for him, "better." he whispered under his breath as he tried to avert his eyes from the way your dress rose every time you stood on your tippy toes to reach inside the cupboard.
"i'll change your bandages, they must be covered in your blood." you told him as you closed the cupboard, going back to sit at the chair beside him.
"you should finish that first and i'll give you pain killers." you told him as he nodded, drinking the rest of his coffee.
he set the tray aside as you popped open the organizer, giving him a pain killer.
he took it and drank it with the water you brought earlier, you started assisting him to sitting up straighter.
you slowly took off his bandage as you looked across his back, "it's beautiful." you assured him when he tried to shift away from your touch.
"no scars are beautiful." he argued, hating that you lied to him to make him feel better.
"well, yours are. it shows that you survived that stage of life. i like your tattoos too, does it hurt?" you asked him as you wiped his back.
"when ye get 'em, and fer the first few weeks." he responded with a grunt as you stopped cleaning his back.
"i don't think i'll find someone who still does tattoos." you squint your eyes as you started opening the cap of the ointment.
you applied some to his side gently as he flinched every now and then.
"trust me, ye don't wanna get one." he groaned as he flinched away from your touch.
you pulled away from him as you placed the cap back of the ointment.
you took the bandage, "okay, tell me if it's too tight." you said as you looked at him.
he looked away before he could think about anything else dirty on your sentence.
he simply nodded and raised his arms a bit as you wrapped your arms around him.
you placed the end of the bandage on his back as you circled the bandage, wrapping him.
your touch burned him but he didn't dare say anything else, he simply enjoyed the feelings of your small hands on him.
you finished wrapping his torso in bandage, you set it aside as you sealed the bandage.
"i-i... saw you earlier." you admitted, cheeks red as you stared at the bed.
"w-what?" he stuttered, hoping that you didn't catch him masturbating and moaning your name.
"you were s-saying my name... and you were touching the thing here." you pointed at his bulge as you looked at his eyes.
your blush darkened when you made eye contact with him, his eyes darkened as he looked at your flustered form.
"i... was just trying to make my pain go away." he lied as he looked away from you.
"oh... i learned that, my classmate told me they do that and release a white cream once they feel better." you told him with interest.
"yeah..." he went along as he nodded immediately, he can feel himself growing hard again so he placed a pillow on top.
"are you feeling pain again?" you asked him as your eyes filled with worry.
"y-yeah." he hesitated, she went near him as she touched his forehead.
"i'll make you feel better, daddy told me to take care of you." you sat on the heels of your feet.
"you should." he didn't know where his confidence came from but he used it.
"okay... i-i don't know how to start." you admitted, looking up at him as you fidgeted with your fingers.
"take off my jeans." he told her softly, she followed what he said and soon slipped his jeans off his legs.
"i'll make you feel better, mr. dixon... i promise." you smiled at him reassuringly.
you place two hands to wrap around his angry cock, you stare at it with amusement.
it was your first time seeing one, except for the drawings in schools that's presented in science.
"i-is all this big?" you asked as you can't even wrap a hand on him.
"no, baby." he caressed your jaw as you nodded, you copied his actions moments earlier.
you stroke his cock carefully, watching his face contort into pleasure as he closed his eyes.
"are you starting to feel better, mr. dixon?" you asked as you continued stroking his length.
"yes..." he nodded as he gripped the headboards, opening his eyes to see you looking at him with a smile.
you continued moving your hand up and down as he held back a quiet moan, in case hershel heard.
his cock twitched as you stared at it weirdly, it's veins were more prominent and his tip is red.
he was most likely ten inches long or maybe more, he was very thick.
"it feels good... baby." he moaned as he thrust his cock into your hand.
"tell me once you feel better, okay?" you asked him as you stroked him faster.
his cock twitches one more time before his cum rushes down and drips down your hand.
he moaned heavily as he panted, coming down from his high.
"i did it! i made you feel better!" you exclaimed in happiness, not really minding the white liquid covering your hand.
"yes, baby. you did." he smiled as he ruffles your hair, he had an idea as he bit his lips.
"you need to drink my white cream, you might have been infected and that white cream is like a medicine." he said without an ounce of guilt.
you stared at him weirdly once again as he nodded encouragely at you.
you nodded and bent down to face his lower abdomen, you licked his stomach and upper leg as you tried to kick every of his cum that you see.
you also looked at him as you licked your hand, you sucked one of your fingers into your mouth, pulling it out then the other one.
he groaned and almost cum again without contact, just the sight of you like that or even just with your hands on him can almost make him cum.
"it... tastes weird." you told him truthfully as you fidgeted with your fingers.
"what's that? you know that is very disrespectful?" he told you as your eyes went wide.
"i—i didn't know, i'm sorry..." you told him quickly as you shifted.
"you should be grateful for whatever i give you, 'ight?" he held your chin as he studied every inch of your face.
"y—yes." you nodded slowly, completely submitting to him, he smiled at that.
daryl patted your head as he lifted you into his lap, you shifted on top of him comfortably as you looked at his eyes.
he groaned when his tip came in contact with your clothed cunt.
"you feel good, baby?" he asked when you grind onto him for unknown reasons to you.
you nodded as he held your hips to stop you from moving any further.
you felt bliss when his tip was just touching your cunt, you have to feel more.
you want to feel more of him, you want to feel good and you also want him to feel good.
"use your words, sweetheart." he let out a low groan as his grip tightens on your hip.
you whimpered as you tried to form a proper sentence without stuttering or stumbling with your words.
"y—yes, mr. dixon." you nodded as you tried to fight his grip by moving to grind onto him.
"no, baby..." he told you, he scolded you as if you're a little girl who needs a punishment.
"you can't call me, mr... if you want me to make you feel good." he slowly talked to you, like talking to a little girl.
you nodded, "what should i call you? what will i call you?" you asked him as you try to grind onto him.
"daryl..." he teased you, moaning slightly as he said his own name.
you blushed as you took in his name, "daryl." you tried and looked at his eyes.
"it would be weird, da... daddy would be mad if he knew i called an older person by their name, he told me to always be respectful..." you told him what hershel taught you.
"well, your daddy doesn't have to know." he told you as he caressed your hips by his thumb.
"i... can't keep secrets." you told him, looking up at him. he was a lot taller than you even when he was seated with you on his lap.
"well, you have to... or else your daddy and i will be mad at you, do you want that?" he asked as he tapped his thumb onto your hips.
"no... i don't want someone mad at me." you shook your head as you looked down.
you blushed when you saw his erected cock, his tip was touching your clothed cunt.
your dress has lifted a bit when he sat you on his lap, the dress was in your hips, showing your legs and underwear.
"then let's keep this a secret, 'ight?" he leaned closer, pressing his tip into you harder.
you whimpered and nodded your head, he softened his grip on your hips as you stayed in place.
"a-are we going to do sex?" you asked him as you placed your hands on his chest. you played with his chest as you looked back and up at him.
"no, baby. we're going to make love." daryl told you, his eyes glinting with mischief.
"but we don't love each other." you told him sheepishly as you looked back at his chest. you admired his tattoos in awe as you traced them softly.
"i love you, and you will love me back after this." he told you firmly as he caressed your hair.
"o—kay..." you said, believing him. your daddy told you to always open your heart.
he leaned in and placed his lips onto yours, you blushed as you didn't know what to do.
you closed your eyes as he kissed you, he placed his grip onto your waist.
he kissed you softly as he bit your lip, you whimpered in pain as he took it as an opportunity to enter his tongue in.
you unconsciously put your arms around his neck as you started to follow his movements.
you tried to kiss him back as you moaned when he sucked on your lower lip.
you were almost embarrassed for the sounds you were making as he kissed you.
you grind your hips onto him unconsciously as you kissed, he sucked on your tongue and lower lip every now and then.
he let you grind your hips into him as you whimpered, you felt good and you want more.
"i-i'm sorry, daryl... but, i want more." you started after you pulled away from him, you tried to also catch your breath.
you were sorry because he just told you earlier how disrespectful it is to not appreciate what you were given.
he smirked and caressed your waist and hair, "you do? what do you want?"
"i feel good, but i want to feel more good..." you told him as you pouted and looked into his eyes.
"do you want daryl in your princess part?" he told you as you nodded, you didn't know what princess part is but you just nodded.
"do you know what that is?" he asked you, you shook your head shyly.
he let out a low chuckled as he let go of your hair he let his hands wander between your thighs as you whimpered.
he caressed it, "this is your princess part, baby." he told you, you didn't say anything as you whimpered, trying to grind onto his hand.
"that's my vagina..." you told him as you so desperately tried grinding onto him.
"no, it's princess part for you, 'right?" he said and slapped your princess part.
you whimpered and nodded, "it's my princess part." you told him as he grinned.
"how bad do you want it, sweetheart?" he asked as he slowly took off your panties.
"so... bad." you whined as you got off his lap and took off your own panties.
you got back on his lap, sitting directly on his cock as you moaned softly.
he teased your entrance as he slid his cock up and down your slit.
"you ready?" he asked and you nodded slowly, you were nervous, it was your first time.
you can't think about anything else, you didn't care if your daddy will get angry if he found out.
you just want daryl, you want to feel good and make love with him.
"i-i'll get pregnant..." you told him worriedly as you placed your hands on his shoulder.
he didn't respond and you gulped, he turned your positions so he was on top of you.
"so wet already?" he tapped his tip into your slit as he teased you.
you nodded, you can feel the wetness on your leg dripping down earlier.
it wasn't the first time you felt like that... you felt it whenever you catch maggie watching pornographic movies.
you felt guilty and confused why you got wet when you also watched the movie secretly.
you immediately went into your room that night and just slept it off.
daryl adjusted his cock into your entrance as he slowly slid in, you gasped in pain as you gripped onto his shoulders.
"daryl... i-i can't, it hurts." you cried as a tear slid down your face.
"it's okay, baby... it's just for a minute or so, everyone experiences this on their first time, it's normal." he told you, wiping your tears.
you nodded and sniffled, it was the truth, you heard your female classmates talking about their first time hurting.
but what isn't normal is the size of daryl's cock, it was beyond the average size.
it added to the pain you were feeling, you felt stretched out even if it was just his tip in you.
you closed your eyes in pain when he pushed a part of him in again. you took deep breaths and tried to calm your self.
"it still hurts..." you told him softly, opening your eyes and looking at him.
he felt a tug at his heart when you looked at him and when he looked at your eyes.
daryl wiped your tears again as he shush you. "it's okay, it'll hurt even more when i pull out."
you pouted but nodded, you wanted this too so you just have to suck it up.
he pushed another part of him in and you just whispered to yourself.
"why are you so big... i—is that normal?" you asked him, glaring at the ceiling.
he just chuckled, he whispered something incoherently to you before pushing the rest of his length in.
"dar—" you shouted in pain but he put his hand onto your mouth, he wiped your tears.
"it's okay..." he slowly told you as he pulled out just to go back in.
you can feel the sudden shift of emotions, you moaned in pleasure and pain the fifth time he slammed into you.
"feels good?" he asked you as he pounded into you, gently then roughly.
"daryl..." you moaned loudly as he pumped in and out, you whimpered.
"stay quiet, your daddy will hear ye'." he whispered to your ear.
you bit down on your lip to stop your loud moans, that even porn models would be jealous of.
daryl loved your moans but it was what would get the both of you caught.
he looked down where both of you meet, your cunt was better than he dreamt of.
your cunt was hugging his cock so tight that his imagination would be so ashamed.
"daryl..." you moaned lowly as he continued his pace, you kissed him as he roughly pumped into you.
"this princess part is mine, got it?" he asked as he slowed his pace.
"daryl— faster!" you bit your lip as you begged him to pick up his pace again.
"got it?" he asked and you nodded, "words, sweetheart." he whispered into your ear.
"yes... it's yours! please— daryl..." you moaned softly as he fastened his pace again.
he can feel you clench around him and he started slowing down just to go faster.
"i-i feel something weird on my tummy... daryl!" you moaned as you squirmed.
"let it out, baby... cum on my cock." he told you as you both can only hear the sound of sound slapping against each other.
you did as he told and let it out, whatever you were feeling on your stomach..
you came as daryl continued pounding onto your cunt relentlessly.
"i would make love to you from day to night if it wasn't your first time, baby..." he whispered.
you were feeling so sensitive that every time he came in contact with your princess part, you messily moaned.
"i-i feel it again..." you said quickly, it hasn't even been a minute since your last release.
daryl was so quick and rough that you came once again, you whimpered as daryl groaned and growled into your ears.
"i'm coming, baby." he muttered under his breath, "i'm cumming inside you."
"i-i'll get pregnant—" you tried to say but was interrupted by your own moan.
you tried protesting but he whispered soft things to your ear.
"i'll take care of you both..." he assured you as he fastened his pace.
"i'll keep stuffing my babies into you so you can never be taken away from me..." he told you.
you nodded, it was a promising life. it was your dream to have your own family someday.
you didn't know if your daddy would be happy with having a grandchild already.
"i'll show the boys interested to you that you're mine and you're carrying my baby..." he moaned.
"y-yes! okay..." you nodded as he thrust into you, you felt attracted to him and you thought it was enough to start a family of your own with him.
you didn't know again what your daddy would feel if you had a family of your own before your older sister, maggie.
"fuck... 'm goin' to cum inside ye'." he told you and his thrust turn sloppy as you can feel warm liquid gush into you.
you whimpered softly as he pulled out his cock. he was still hard even if you were already done.
you can feel your own cum mixed with daryl's cum trickle out of you slowly.
you tried to catch your breath as you pulled down your dress.
"i love ye'..." daryl whispered to you as he stuffed his cum back into you.
you didn't respond and closed your eyes, laying your head on the soft pillow.
you can feel a bit of guilt and regret that you let him cum inside you.
you started to doubt if it was a good idea to let him cum inside you.
you weren't even sure if you were ready to start a family as sure as you were earlier.
"i—i... don't think i want a child at this time..." you told him innocently and softly.
you can't imagine raising a child during an apocalypse where every breath you make is a risk.
"you can't do anything about it... i already came inside you, you're going to carry our child, hm?" he hugged you as he caressed your hair.
you didn't know what to do.

Can I request Clayton Keller + “hey… hey… why are you crying?”
TW: Insecurities 1000 Followers Celly Currently ongoing 🥳🎉 (please read the rules ends 21st April 2025) Big requests/full fic/big idea requests are closed at the moment but drabble and prompt requests are still open. Writing Masterlist
Clayton comes looking for you when you don't resurface from the bathroom at the fancy gala he'd brought you to. 5 minutes he could understand, but 10? 10 had him worrying. The door is locked when he gets there, knocking a hand against it , rapping his knuckles gently but loud enough to be heard on the other side of the door.
"Baby, you in there?"
"Yeah..." Your voice is croaky on the other side of the door, wet with tears and it has him worrying instantly, Clay tries to turn the handle before he remembers you've locked it. The door not giving way for him.
"Baby, let me in..."
"I'm fine..." But you're not and he can hear it in your voice. You're embarrassed, ashamed to be crying, but something has upset you. One thing Clayton and you had always agreed on was that neither of you were to hide how you were feeling from the other. There was no room for pretending everything was okay with the one person you were supposed to be the most vulnerable with. It's why he doesn't hesitate to push back.
"If you don't let me in in the next 10 seconds I will get Bainer to break it down, baby." Clay takes a step back from the door when he hears you shuffling on the other side, letting you unlock it and open it slightly, still hiding behind it as he shuffles his way inside.
You're still crying when he enters, hands trying to wipe away the tears but they're coming faster than you can dry them. Your skin is getting blotchy and your eyes are red, make up running down your cheeks.
He's on you in seconds, hands rubbing up and down your arms as he crowds you against the sink, trying to soothe you, to be close to you because he's not entirely sure what's wrong.
“Hey… hey… why are you crying?” His hands cup your cheeks, fingers brushing away your tears so gently despite the strength in those hands.
"I'm...i-i'm just r-really embarrassed.." You're hiccupping, struggling to regulate your breathing as Clay tucks your hair behind your ears and tugs you closer, one hand resting on your neck, a soothing sort of weight as he feels your pulse beat aggressively under his hand.
"Why are you embarrassed, baby? What's wrong?" He tries to think back to the gala outside, had something happened that had embarrassed you? Had he overlooked something or not seen it? His frown a result of his desire to see you happy, a consequence of your unhappiness.
"I-I-I look terrible..." Your face falls into his chest, hiding away in his dress shirt, but it's the words that have his lips pursing, nostrils flaring.
"Who the fuck said you look terrible?" His voice is deadly in it's stillness. Not yelling, not shouting, not raising his voice, but it's gone cold, harsh at the thought of you thinking you didn't look wonderful, that someone must have said something to make you feel that way when you'd been so happy at the start of the evening in your dress.
"No one..." You mumble it into his shirt, but not for long as he's tugging your head back, hand cupping the back of your head and tangling in your hair to lean your head so you're looking at him again.
"Then why the hell do you think you look terrible?" His tone hasn't lightened, that purse of his lips a clear indicator that he's upset but you're too focused on your embarrassment. You feel so...inadequate, not good enough, combine that with the reality that Clay's seeing you with your make up running and eyes red? You don't feel your best.
"I-I don't look l-like them." Your breathing is starting slow down with each moment, Clay's hands on you reassuring, secure, the knowledge that he's listening and he's here helping you to calm slightly.
"Who?" His grip on you tightens just slightly, not uncomfortable, just firmer, an instinct when he thinks of you comparing yourself to anyone else. It's ridiculous for you to do when you're the most beautiful person in any room in his opinion. You're incomparable.
"The other girlfriends..." You avoid Clay's eyes, shifting to look over his shoulder in a way that he hates, a way that has him guiding your head back till you can't help but look at him.
"So?"
"They're so much prettier, taller, thinner...and they dress better...you must be so embarrassed by me..." You force his hands off you as you turn away from him, arms wrapping around yourself like you're protecting yourself.
It breaks his heart...it hurts to hear you hate on yourself, on your body, your dress sense, your everything...it hurts because you're everything to Clay. You're beautiful, the hottest person he knows, but even without that you're so much more. Kind, intelligent, hard working, considerate. A person that thinks of others, that supports him and is proud of him know matter if he wins or loses. You're everything. The centre of his entire universe.
"Baby. Look at me." You take a few moments, the guiding of his hands on your hips, the softness of his urging until you finally look at him, eyes red rimmed, mouth downturned. It breaks his heart. "You're the prettiest one in that fucking room, you're gorgeous, you look amazing..."
Clay breathes out long and hard through his nose, eyes darkening as he scans you from head to toe. That goddamn dress had him dying tonight the first time he saw you in it. "I contemplated not even coming tonight and just staying home with you to rip that fucking dress off." God, he'd wanted to just toss you onto the bed, pull it off and stay there with you all night.
"Oh..." Your cheeks warm, eyes widening as a small little smile starts at the corners of your mouth.
"Yeah 'oh'. You need to stop comparing yourself to others, sweet girl, you're perfect as you are."
"I...I just don't fit the WAG mould..."
"Who said you needed to?" You shrug at him because you have no answer, because no one has ever said you needed to but you'd felt like you were the black sheep, the odd one out, "I love you, baby, I don't need you to be or look like anyone else, okay?"
You nod, cheeks drying now, his reassurance easing that discomfort in your chest. It helps remind you of how you'd felt at the start of the night, before you'd started comparing yourself to the other girlfriends. You'd felt so beautiful...
"I love you too."
There's an easy sort of silence as Clay helps you fix your makeup and hair, putting you back together. The only sign of your previous tears being how red your eyes are.
Clay finishes tucking some hair behind your ear, the backs of his fingers gliding down your cheek softly, tenderly like he's scared to touch you too hard.
"You wanna go home early? We've been here long enough I can probably sneak away." He didn't need to be at the gala all night, didn't want to be unless you were happy to and he knew...he could tell without you saying a word that you'd rather go home.
"I don't want to be a bother..." But, you'd struggle through the evening if he let you, not wanting to be a pain, not wanting to be the reason he doesn't get to enjoy his night.
"You're never a bother to me. Do you want to go home?"
"...Yes, please."
"Okay. Let's go."

Momentarily breaking my hiatus to further discuss the issue with the new collector edition of RWRB and why Casey's response (or lack therof) is disappointing.
Here is a link to the post I made detailing what is going on. Please read if if you are unaware.
Now, a direct quote from RWRB,
"And I'm not white like she is, can't even pass for it. People are always gonna come down harder on me."
Casey wrote these lines in the book so if they ever made a film/tv show they did not cast a white passing person to play Alex. This statement is in the annotated version of RWRB that you can look up online.
I want to discuss what being white passing means. I am a white passing latina. I have direct family members who are not white passing. My DNA just worked in a way where you see my Spanish ancestry more than my African or Native, but I have all three. Because of this, I benefit from white privilege.
However, it is important to keep in mind that passing as white now sometimes does not mean what it did historically. White passing means you can pass as white so that racist white people will not deny you certain opportunities based on your ethnicity or race. It was and sometimes still is something POC choose to do. For example, Oscar Isaac uses a passing stage name. Choose to pass. It is a denial of part of who you are to further your endeavors in a world built of oppression. Now it also means someone may look at you simply assume you are white, but that is NOT all that it means.
And even I, with my pale skin, sometimes say "I know I'm white passing." and immediately have (usually white) people say something like "No, you're not. I immediately knew you were latina when I saw you."
Now, I take people recognizing me as latine as a positive. It makes me happy because I am proud of my identity. But there is the other aspect of me not being as passing as I think I am, even though my skin tone is really light. A racist "real" white person would still descrimate against me because my blood is not "pure."
I'm mentioning this because I have seen multiple people say that the art inside this edition is fine, because Taylor Zakhar Perez is white passing.
Taylor is not white passing.
He has talked multiple times his difficultly in getting roles, the moment in the movie where he discusses prejudice against latinos is from personal experience between him and Matthew. I want you to understand that it is not only about Taylor being brown or not brown enough to play Alex, it's about his name, it's about his facial feature — his warm skin tone, but also the shape of his beautiful nose amongst other things — that make it clear that he is a man of color. Looking at Taylor, it is clear that he is a latino man with middle eastern and mediterranean ancestry as well.
But this isn't even about Taylor because we are talking about the book.
In the political world a character like Alex would never ever be mistaken for white. Alex probably never is unaware that he isn't fully white. That is what "can't even pass for it." means. It means since his mother became president, everyone knows her kid is Mexican, is brown, is not what is considered "white." by US American standards.
Remember, latino is not a race. Colorism is rampant. And since Alex is half white he is probably lighter than other latinos, esp afrolatinos, as we see on the original pink cover of RWRB. He's clearly darker than Henry there, though!
In the two arts Casey approved and endorsed not only is his skin tone various shades lighter than TZP's in the one that used his likeness, but he is given european features in the other as well. They chose to sell a book — for $80 — where Alex is drawn as white/white passing when the entire reason they wrote that line was to avoid something like this happening.
For over a week now fans (mainly latinos) have been imploring Casey to say something about this, because it's very unlike them to do this — but they haven't. This is upsetting because Casey is not latine. Not white latine either. Not latine AT ALL. If you are writing a character that is part of a community you are not a part of you have to show up for that community to the best of your ability.
At a time like this, Casey's behavior is really disappointing and the only person to blame is Casey for that. Not Taylor's casting. Casey for approving this edition and promoting it on their Instagram.
I think it was probably a fuck up, and now they're frozen and unsure how to handle it. I like Casey, I LOVE their books and think they seem like a good person. But this has opened some discussions that I think are being mishandled in various ways.
I'm logging off again for a bit, but I wanted to share my feelings on this a week out. Take care everyone 🩷

ATEEZ Main Masterlist
"Joomi, I think we should make Daddy fall in love."
"With who, Jooeun? Y/N?"
"Yeah! Wouldn't Y/N be a great mommy? She already takes really good care of us! And she's mommy's best friend."
"Mommy would be happy if Y/N was our new mommy."
The two five-year-olds were huddled by the stairway, looking down the hall into the kitchen where you stood by the sink and Jongho cleared the table. After their mom passed away, the twins knew that their dad was struggling to raise them himself, he had no clue what he was doing. When you, their mom's best friend and their favorite person in the whole wide world, moved into the home to help out, they were thrilled.
They knew you had been close to their mom, but seeing how much you care for the three of them just proved to them even more that you are the perfect match to take over the role of their mother. You cook all their favorite meals, you read bedtime stories to them, and you even help them brush their teeth! You loved all three of them very deeply and would do anything for them. The girls admired you and adored your kind heart and the loving smiles you had for their dad and them. The girls noticed the way the two of you looked at each other when you thought no one was looking. Their dad had it bad and Joomi could tell that you did too. But you and their dad always insisted you were 'just friends' and that there was nothing more than that. So, being the bright children they were, Joomi and Jooeun put their minds together to hatch a plan.
If they made you two fall in love, you could get married, and become a family!
Their dad was walking into the kitchen. "How did their snacks go? Were the girls okay?"
You nodded. "Oh, it went wonderfully. The girls were perfectly sweet the entire time."
Jongho exhaled a sigh of relief. "I'm sorry for leaving. I had to stop by a client's office since we are having trouble meeting a deadline for a project that needs to be completed by Friday. If anything were to go wrong or anything would happen..."
You put a hand on his arm, stopping him from rambling. "Everything was fine. Don't stress yourself out, everything's under control here. You just take care of whatever work you need to do."
Jongho nods but hesitantly stops. "I'm...just afraid something will happen. The girls...they've been through enough. I feel bad for asking so much from you, I don't even pay you to take care of them or live in my home or-"
You chuckled. "Hush. No money is necessary to watch over the people I care about. Plus, this is more than a payment. You've given me a place to stay, food, and the company of two adorable girls. Now stop worrying."
The look Jongho gave you after that was too warm and sent butterflies fluttering throughout your body, but it made your cheeks heat up.
Joomi and Jooeun made small noises of "falling in love, falling in love, falling in loveeeee," over and over while they looked over at their dad and you by the stairway. They were careful not to be noticed by either of you and they were patient as they watched.
"Okay...you're right," Jongho breathed out a heavy sigh and you saw the way his shoulders visibly relaxed, his built figure leaning forward and closer to you.
You laughed. "Let's start planning a summer trip, okay? When things are not as busy."
He smiled. "That'd be lovely."
As soon as he said that, you heard the girls giggling by the stairs. "Were they listening to our conversation this whole time...?"
You covered your smile. "Probably."
Jongho scrunched up his nose, laughing to himself. "You know what they're trying to do, right?"
"I mean- they've been playing their games lately..." You let out a small laugh.
You can see Jongho shaking his head from behind you. The two of you walked up the steps, approaching the kids at the top and grabbing them. The girls screech playfully in shock, holding back a snicker at what their next plans could be. Jongho holds both of them in each arm, one girl in each, and you're unable to hold back your laughter at how precious they are. Jongho carries them both off to their bedroom, where he drops them softly on the big bed that the two girls shared. They're laying on their bellies, kicking their feet back and forth like fish, a huge grin plastered across both of their faces.
"I know your tricks, ladies. So do be a little less obvious about trying to play matchmaker." He scolded them playfully, hands on his hips and giving them a pretend serious look.
Joomi snorted, still kicking her little feet. "We've noticed you and Y/N."
"What does that mean?" He chuckled.
Jooeun flipped over, the bedsheets making a small swoosh sound underneath her as she laid down on her back. "You and Y/N have crushes!"
Your eyes widened. You felt yourself redden up. "Oh. Girls! No no no, your daddy and I are just friends. Best friends! Like, soooo best of friends!"
Joomi furrowed her little eyebrows. She glanced back and forth from you to her father. "You and Daddy love each other like mommy did, but don't kiss."
"Or...at least haven't kissed. Yet," Jooeun sang.
You let out a shaky sigh. "Where are they learning these things? Don't go saying things like that, the two of you."
Joomi nodded with a shrug. "Why not? Are you embarrassed?"
You let your gaze wander over to Jongho to look for some support on the matter. But Jongho was flushed and looking everywhere other than at you. It was obvious that this wasn't an easy conversation for either of you to have, much less in front of the twins.
Joomi noticed your actions and she smiled, snapping her head over to her father. "What? Are you embarrassed, Daddy?"
Joomi was giving him the same look she always did when she's trying to convince him to get something for her. With big puppy eyes, a wide smile, her bottom lip out with just a twitch at the end. Her eyebrows wiggle just a little, begging him silently and sweetly. She and her sister knew their father couldn't resist when they pleaded in that certain tone of voice, looking in their sweet little girl ways. They've played their games so many times, so why not try again?
"Joomi..." Jongho sighs, putting his hands on his knees, not being able to escape her large dark brown eyes. "What am I going to do with the two of you?"
The twins only let out tiny laughs, shrugging and hugging each other in the bed as Jongho stood. The girls love him very much and are grateful they have such a good father, despite their circumstances. Jongho leaves the room and you stay in the room with them, sitting on the bed, wanting to get to the bottom of where the girls' idea of a crush came from.
"Who told you about what a crush is?" you asked the girls after they sat themselves on the bed and changed into their PJ's.
"Uncle San!" Jooeun squeaks as the top half of her head peeks out of her PJ top.
You internally facepalmed, thinking about how Jongho's older cousin, San, was whispering conspiratorially with the girls after they asked him questions about life in a school filled with friends, crushes and parties.
"We thought you and Daddy liked each other," Jooeun had confessed innocently.
"Do you hate Daddy?" Joomi frowned, getting teary-eyed as her head pokes through the collar. "Do you hate us? Are you going to leave?"
You give her a hug, cupping her face with your hands and giving a sweet, reassuring smile. "No, no, no, sweetheart. Not at all, it's just complicated. Please don't say those things again, okay?"
It hurt, seeing the disappointed looks in their eyes and on their pouty lips, but you tried not to show it on your own face.
"Promise?" Jooeun had pleaded.
You took in a shaky breath. "Of course. Come now, time to get to sleep."
You helped the little ones into their beds, tucking the blankets around them and reading from a fairytale book as the light to their night-light flickered from the wall outlet. They slowly drifted off to sleep and you shut the bedroom door with a gentle click behind you. With a sigh, you approached the master suite across the hall and opened the door quietly, catching sight of Jongho flopped stomach-down on the mattress, buried with a duvet as you chuckled at the sight.
You clicked the bedroom door shut as you entered, stepping over to him. "The kids are asleep," you announced softly, moving to sit on the side of the bed and leaned over, poking his shoulder blade.
With a quiet huff, he rolled over, his face and shoulders now facing you. His fluffy hair lay flat over his eyes and a low sigh passed through his nose as his eyes shifted to meet yours, eyelids drooped.
A smirk found its way to the corners of his mouth. "Those two will be the death of me."
"You know we'll have to tell them about us eventually if they keep it up with their shenanigans," you warned him, laying yourself overtop of him.
"I was thinking of ways to approach the subject with the girls in my head just now." he revealed to you, reaching his arms around you. "I'm nervous that I don't know what they're really thinking or feeling."
Your hands came up and framed Jongho's cheeks. "Oh, Jongho...those girls are too smart. They even asked San about what crushes are.”
"San? Why'd they ask him?"
"That's not the point." you whispered, running your thumb across his soft cheek. "Do you think we should sit down with them? Explain?"
"Explain what? That their daddy and their nanny are secretly in love with one another because they can't stop sneaking kisses in secret places of the home?"
"Shut up." you said with a playful nudge at his chest.
"But you admit those kisses are nice." Jongho says as he sits up, dragging you onto his lap, the blanket sliding down his toned chest as his arms remain around you.
"Extremely," you confirmed, wrapping your arms around his neck as you feel the hands on your waist move to cup the underside of your thighs, adjusting the way you're positioned on him.
"Hey." Jongho brushed his nose with yours as a whisper against your lips.
"Hello," you replied with a giggle, already finding his mouth and leaning in with the full intent of kissing him again.
"Would you be happy with a widowed, single dad?" He continued to stroke the back of your leg with his fingers. "What it be wrong for me and the girls to be happy again?"
The tips of your thumbs draw little circles on the back of his neck. "Nothing is wrong with that, Jongho... I think Eunmi would be happy if you and the girls were finally able to move on and be happy."
"What if that happiness was with you? With us?" he asked, pressing his forehead against yours and rubbing his hands up and down your sides and you gently rub his back with your fingers.
You lean into the embrace and inhale, closing your eyes for a moment, then pulling away. "When Eunmi told me her last words to take care of you and the girls... I think maybe that was her way of telling me that it was okay for us to be happy. It's not like we're strangers. Not like we haven't been together before."
You and Jongho had known each other for years, and at one point, the both of you dated back in high school for a year or two but broke off your relationship for various reasons. You met Eunmi in college and ended up staying good friends with her throughout the rest of the years. And when you found out that Eunmi and Jongho started dating and eventually got married, you couldn't have been more pleased for the two of them.
You were never jealous that Eunmi and Jongho were together. Never jealous when they got married or when you helped Eunmi with the twins' birth.
Never once.
Because you loved them dearly and you wanted them to be happy together.
When Eunmi fell sick and lost her fight with the sickness that plagued her body and spirit, she pleaded for Jongho to promise her to live his happiest life possible, and that meant starting a family all over again. Because she couldn't anymore. She couldn't raise their kids, or start over as husband and wife with Jongho, so the least she could ask for was for him and the girls to be happy. When you visited her in her final days in the hospital, she grabbed your hand and asked you a favor.
"If you love Jongho and want him to live a fulfilling and happy life... then please, look after him for me when I'm gone," she had begged with tears in her eyes. "You know how to take care of our girls, and if Jongho were with you and the girls are happy with you, I know he would be more at ease. With more help, with love...and if somehow the both of you were to fall in love all over again with one another...don't leave him, okay? Take care of him...take care of the three of them...love them, make them happy...my family is your family now."
That was over a little more than a year ago, and Jongho, although still hurt over his past love's untimely loss, was healing. So were Joomi and Jooeun. That was proven by the fact that Jongho was finally starting to love again, albeit slowly, after a while. The twins were right. They knew that he was happy when he was around you, just like he knew the twins were happier when you were around, just as their mother, Eunmi, knew the same thing.
And the last promise he made Eunmi on her deathbed was one that he will make sure he keeps.
Live his best, happiest life possible, even with the way that his life was now.
Even if it meant being with you, the woman he once loved before and recently was falling for again.
Your thoughts are interrupted by the feeling of your back hitting the plush comforters as Jongho shifts to pin you on the mattress below him. You look up and see the gleam in his eyes that have turned a shade darker from before. Your hands snake their way around his neck as he reaches and traps your face with his fingers and palms. A mischievous smirk danced across his features, his thumb rubbing the spot below the corner of your mouth, his index and middle finger rubbing at the shell of your ear. You shivered at his actions.
"Let's make them happy, Jongho..." you cooed, relishing in the soft, tickling touch of his fingers along your neck and shoulder. "Let's be happy, together, with them. Like Eunmi asked."
"I love you, you know that? I can't help but think that Eunmi knew what was going to happen, the whole time," he expressed with a big exhale as you pull him forward and close. "And she never once left me. Never doubted that I loved her even with my...previous feelings for you resurfacing."
"She loved you so, so much, Jongho. Don't ever think she didn't love you, or that she thought you didn't love her, despite the things that happened when we were in high school," you reminded him with a reassuring smile. "She loved you until her final breaths and beyond, and wanted nothing but a lifetime of happiness for you and your girls. You deserve that. Everyone deserves that. Including you."
"Do you love me too...?" he whispered against your lips, his thumb grazing your cheek.
"Always have, always will," you promised, smiling and finally pulling him in for a sweet kiss.
The next few days passed in a blur. The girls were constantly scheming or attempting to make you and their father become 'official' to their little eyes. You and Jongho would playfully play the fool, knowing their secret plans, and doing small things that would give them the belief that their tricks would work.
But in actuality, you and Jongho were having a good time trying to guess what would come next. One day, you woke up early and had just finished washing the dishes from breakfast. The girls scurried up behind you, wrapping their small bodies around your legs like adorable monkeys clinging to trees.
"What are you two up to, huh? Going to try and climb Y/N like a tree and claim that I stole your new favorite?" You hear Jongho joked as he leaned on the doorframe between the living room and dining room.
The twins giggled in unison at the ridiculous accusation as Jongho slipped closer, grabbing both girls from either side and tickling their sides as he lifted the twins up on his broad shoulders.
"Never! Our favorite is still you, Daddy!" the girls gasped in between fits of laughter as you watched on in amusement at their antics.
You rolled your eyes at the girls' silliness.
"Careful there. Make sure the two of you are hanging on tight," you playfully warned them as they straddled Jongho's shoulder blades.
The two girls immediately sat and hung on to Jongho for dear life, faces buried on either side of his head. You and Jongho chuckled at the adorable display of their devotion. You reached out and bopped the twins' noses in turn as they peered up, big bright grins adorning their cherubic cheeks.
The weekend is arriving soon, and with it, comes an overnight trip for the four of you.
"Are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet?" the twins cried out, looking out the passenger's-seat windows in anticipation.
"We'll be there soon," you laughed from the front seat where you were seated beside Jongho as he drove along the road to the campsite.
You and Jongho decided to take the kids camping, along with his friends and their kids to get a break from the bustling city life. His friend Mingi has a lakeside cabin and lots of land on which you can pitch a tent, start a fire, roast marshmallows, swim in the lake, and go canoeing or kayaking, just a few hundred meters away from the cabin itself. Jongho explained this to you as you looked out the window, smiling and watching the pine trees on either side of the vehicle whizz by at lightning speed.
Your thoughts drifted from the scenery out the windows to the scenery in the passenger seat beside you.
Jongho has his eyes focused on the road. His mouth was set in a small smile as he maneuvered the vehicle and focused on his driving, looking back into the rearview mirror to glance back and see his children giggling and talking amongst one another.
Then his dark brown orbs flickered over to your side briefly before his eyes landed back on the road before him. He turned and tilted his head towards you and his smile only got wider as his eyes crinkled at the sides, an adoring look settling over his handsome features.
"What's on your mind?"
"Not too much," you murmured, not realizing that you were being called out because of the pensive look you've been wearing on your face while looking out the windows. "Just thinking about stuff, you know, as a typical human is prone to doing from time to time."
"Got something you wanna share or something you want to keep to yourself?"
"Mmm...let me get back to you on that one."
Jongho let out a chuckle, shrugging and facing forward again. He kept his hand on your thigh the entire drive.
As soon as Mingi came into sight and everyone pulled up and parked in the driveway near his cabin, the twins were ecstatic. Unable to keep themselves in check as they jumped up and down and opened the door, they hopped out onto the ground and rushed towards him. Jongho's other friends' kids did the same thing and rushed forward, enveloping Mingi in a big group hug and pulling him downwards to smother his face and neck with affectionate kisses and screaming 'Uncle Mingi! Uncle Mingi! We're here!!' at the top of their lungs. A look of bewilderment crossed Mingi's features and he laughed heartily.
"Oh man, I wish I was that popular," San muttered as he watched the kids crowd the tall man, shaking his head.
"You're just jealous that Haru likes Mingi more than you," Wooyoung said teasingly, punching San's shoulder playfully.
"But I'm his dad!" San said with wide-eyes.
"And Mingi is his favorite uncle." Hongjoong pitched in.
"I've been replaced." San faked a dramatic swoon.
"Yunhee, make sure you get money from Uncle Mingi!" Yunho yelled at his daughter who only responded with a loud 'Got it!' from Mingi's front porch before turning around and giving her father a thumbs up.
You watched as the kids greeted Mingi on his porch and then he turned his attention to the adults and waved enthusiastically, pointing at the cabin door.
"Lunch is inside already and is ready whenever you guys want! Help yourself! We got games set up in the back if anyone wants to get their butts kicked in basketball or kickball. We also have kayaks in the back we can take out onto the lake. We've also got plenty of seating on the deck and some patio furniture. Make yourselves at home!" He announced, his voice booming out with laughter.
The adults nodded at him, not missing the mischievous twinkle in his eyes as he continued to yell at the kids. "KIDS. There's a small playground behind the cabin with a swing set, sand pit, slide, etc. and the water's right behind that. BUT-"
With that, the kids perked up and looked at him, eye-wide, eagerly hanging on every word that would leave his mouth.
"But~ If you don't behave well, Uncle Joong and Uncle Hwa are going to turn into super spies and capture each and everyone one of you!" Mingi announced in his serious adult's voice as he eyed the kids before continuing with, "Don't even try us! You can run, but you can't hide. Uncle Woo and Uncle Yeo have superhuman hearing and can detect trouble-makers from a hundred feet away. They'll be on you before you even realize it! Uncle Yunho and Uncle San have lightning reflexes! One little slip up and they'll snag you faster than your father can!"
The kids gasp and run past them in a hurry towards the playground that lay behind the cabin. The adults looked amused after their gleeful retreat, and it's not long before the noise of playful squeals and shrieks fill the air.
You and the rest of the adult pack burst into a fit of laughter at the fact that Mingi just riled the kids up into a frenzy. The others looked back and watched their offspring tear into the backyard. You watched a fond look cross Jongho's face, the smile reaching his eyes as he watched the scene in the back unfold.
"Jongho," Mingi said, interrupting Jongho and shaking him from his thoughts. "Are you and Y/N okay to share the bedroom in the back of the cabin? All the kids wanted to have a sleepover in the living room, and all the other bedrooms were claimed, save for one. I mean, I could sleep on the couch and one of you can take my bedroom..."
"It's okay, Mingi." Jongho smiled, pulling you to stand beside him and wrapping an arm around your waist, looking at you for approval.
"Ohhhhhhh~" the rest of the guys exclaimed, slapping him on the back, playfully. They were happy that Jongho was moving on.
"Wait," Wooyoung cried out, confused, "Wasn't there another room open?"
Mingi wiggled his brows. "Totally open."
“So why…” Wooyoung scrunched his face in confusion. Then his eyes widened in understanding when it clicked in his head. "Oh. Oh, damn!"
"Did you plan this or something, Mingi?" you laughed.
He holds his hands up. "Nah, the kids suggested sharing the sleeping arrangements. I would've switched our sleeping places around, but Joomi and Jooeun gave me puppy-dog-eyes and asked me to go along with their plan. Don't think any of the adults or kids here could resist a face like that."
"The twins and their shenanigans. Their mom was such a schemer so the apples didn't fall far from the tree," you said affectionately, remembering the woman you called your best friend.
"They take after Eunmi but their hearts are in the right place." Seonghwa laughed. "They know that you two like each other and have been wanting you two together for a long time. Guess today, we're accomplices to their 'Matchmaker-Twins'. Right, Captain?"
"Yes, we are," Hongjoong piped up.
You giggled at the remark, realizing that the others were in cahoots with the twins' scheme. You rolled your eyes, not surprised that all the kids and adults are in on the plans the two made for the day, the rest of the group joining in, egging the girls on, and enabling the twins to go along with their plots and plans.
After helping the twins and the other kids settle into their 'camping spots', and getting them properly settled in their temporary sleeping arrangements in the living room and putting them down for a nap, you and Jongho retired to the back room to relax in peace and quiet until the kids wake up again.
The two of you climbed into the bed and under the sheets, settling down on top of the covers. You and Jongho simultaneously sighing in relaxation and content. Jongho rolled over onto his left side and pulled your body, snug to his and against his chest, hooking his chin on your shoulder.
"Want to get a quick nap in?" you ask.
"I know something that will put us right to sleep," Jongho whispered, pressing a gentle kiss against your neck, right below your ear, causing you to shiver at the contact.
"Now?" You teased, a smirk playing across your features.
"Why do you think Mingi gave us the very private room in the cabin? I guarantee he put two-and-two together, plus heard my little munchkins' schemes, so..." Jongho retorted, continuing his little trail of pecks along the expanse of skin on your neck. You bit your bottom lip in anticipation. His mouth was trailing hot and open kisses along your exposed flesh, his tongue flicking at the curve of your shoulder. The trail continued downward until he was stopped by the cloth covering your skin. Jongho looked up at you. "What do you say, baby? Wanna?"
In response, you reach down to pull up the shirt you were wearing up and over your head. Dropping it to the floor next to the bed. "We need to hurry, though. Mingi said the kids are probably going to wake up in the next hour, maybe, to finish up their outdoor activities."
"An hour is more than enough time," Jongho murmured against your jawline, pulling you towards him and capturing your lips in a hungry, passionate kiss as you grind against his groin. "More than enough..."
The atmosphere grew heated rather fast and in no time at all, the two of you were bare of your clothes, warm skin touching warm skin, his lips chasing yours and yours chasing his, trying to feel him as close as possible.
"Get your pretty ass up here. Ride my face." Jongho demanded.
"You're kidding," You choked out in disbelief, he shook his head at your words, his hands traveling down your curves.
"Nah, get up here. Sit on daddy's face." His words were a breathy moan against the crook of your neck and you felt yourself blush from head to toe.
"Jongho," you whined.
Jongho moaned desperately and pinned you to the bed, lifting you by the back of your thighs easily and throwing your legs over his shoulders as he laid back on the bed, his dark eyes burning into yours, "Please?"
"Are you trying to kill me?" You asked, giggling as he stared at you.
"Just turn around," Jongho chuckled, and the next second you gasped as his hands grasped you tightly and pulled you around to where his face was inches from your soaked core. "Hands on the headboard and keep still."
His firm demand sent heat shooting throughout your stomach and down into your aching pussy, and you quickly scrambled to grab onto the headboard. You almost jumped out of your skin as his tongue took a long, slow lick up the length of your slit, your grip on the wood tightening as he slowly began circling his tongue over your clit.
The wet heat that pressed against your sensitive bundle of nerves was almost overwhelming and you ground your teeth as Jongho began pushing his tongue against you rhythmically, licking and sucking at you as he tried to fuck you with his tongue. His ministrations were methodical and measured, never picking up the pace too much, but applying an immense amount of pressure every time he moved against you.
Your head was swimming at this point, the feeling of his soft mouth pressing against your drenched pussy was sending shockwaves of pleasure all throughout your body, causing your nipples to harden and your mind to reel. You couldn't keep yourself from whimpering slightly at the way his fingers dug into the soft flesh of your thighs, and your hips jerked downwards involuntarily in an attempt to feel his tongue deep within you.
A guttural groan erupted from within his throat, and it reverberated against you as his grip on your thighs became impossibly tighter. He pinned you against his mouth so that you couldn't squirm against him again, keeping you on his tongue so that it could continue massaging over every sensitive bit of your pussy.
And before you even realized what you were doing, you had clenched your thighs around his head, not allowing his head to budge from underneath your hips. He moaned against your flesh and picked up the speed of his movements, sloppily lapping at you and dipping his tongue deep inside, stretching your clenching walls, working your entire core in a way that was sending you barreling into a quick and intense orgasm. Your legs bucked out on either side of him as you moaned loudly, pressing his tongue deep inside of you.
"Gosh, Jongho! F-Fuck!" You moaned, pushing your hips down and riding his face vigorously until your entire core pulsed, sending warm shockwaves rippling through your whole body.
When you finally finished clenching your thighs around his head, Jongho managed to lift his head up just enough to begin sucking hard on your oversensitive clit. "Don't fucking move," He murmured against you.
As your head slowly spun, he held himself there, moaning against your wet flesh. Jongho would not allow you to recover, and his tongue never stopped its movements, continuing to lick at your walls as if he could drink every bit of you in.
"Taste so good…" He breathed, kissing your inner thigh gently.
"Oh please..." you whispered and gasped as the pressure of his mouth against you suddenly increased, Jongho moaning obscenely beneath you.
"You make the prettiest noises..." Jongho said as you felt his hot breath fan against your overly sensitive pussy, his mouth moving against you rapidly, almost as though it couldn't kiss you deeply enough. "Couldn't help but be noisy could ya? Little tease..."
"Baby, I can't cum again..." Your whole body was beginning to spasm now as the warmth between your legs threatened to burst again, his lips pressing hard against your clit and sucking deep and slow. Your vision was going white as the pressure built in you. You could feel yourself climbing toward yet another earth shattering release as you leaned against the headboard for support, knuckles turning white from your iron-like grasp.
But Jongho never let up, relentlessly dragging his mouth over your swollen sex and moaning hotly as he pleasured you, eyes closing in rapture as he lost himself in the taste of you. "Can you cum again? Can you cum on my tongue, beautiful?"
Your grip on the headboard tightened impossibly and before you knew it, you were cumming, your body jerking in time with your pulsing pussy, soaking him as you released everything within you.
Once your high fizzled out, and your heartbeat returned to a normal rate, you were feeling your body growing tired. Your fingers and arms and legs were sore. "Jongho..I need a break..." you sighed, leaning down to try and push his head away, your words sounding more desperate than you'd meant them. "I can't cum again like this, it's too much.."
"Then do you want me to fuck your pretty pussy?" Jongho asked, looking up at you through dark eyelashes as he circled his tongue against you. "I could kiss this pretty pussy all day long, but I don't think you can wait anymore."
You bit your lip hard at the words and glanced behind you to see Jongho pumping his thick member with his hand, still holding you in place with his other arm. "Please..." you murmured.
With a pleased groan, he helped turn you back around, moving both of you until he was positioned on top, spreading you wide apart and nudging his tip against your swollen entrance.
"Stop teasing me," you whined, the sight of his twitching length inches from where you needed it made you a bit crazy. Jongho chuckled lightly and captured your lips as he slowly pushed himself in.
You could not stop the moan that escaped your lips the second Jongho was balls-deep inside your pussy, your arms flying around his neck, clinging on tightly. He fit inside you so well, filling you up in every conceivable way, the tip of his cock hitting every hidden part of you.
His lips travelled along your neck and collar, sucking and kissing the soft flesh. Your mouth was still agape, hanging low with no sound, only letting out little gasps as his tip brushed past the deepest part of you, sending warmth radiating throughout every nerve-ending.
"My beautiful baby.." Jongho hummed, pulling out gently before pounding into you, one strong arm wrapping around your hips and lifting them so he could pound against a different spot deep within you.
Suddenly it seemed to you as if Jongho's tip were brushing over your clit each time it pulled back before sliding deep into your entrance.
You gripped him tighter as his hips moved back and forth. Before you knew it, Jongho's name tumbled out of your lips as he hit a soft spot of yours.
"Jonghooo..." you moaned, losing your mind.
"Gonna fill your pussy up with my cum...make you take it..." Jongho growled, snapping his hips up again with more force.
"Wanna give you my kids. Would you like that? Add another to our family?" He groaned against your neck, squeezing your ass, then swatting it.
He pushed himself in as far as he could, biting your earlobe as his member twitched inside of you, "Tell me, baby. Do you like being a mommy to me and my twins, and being my pretty wife? Don't want anyone else...only my baby. I love you so much. You and my girls..."
"I love you and the girls too, Jongho. So, so much." You respond, feeling the tell-tale signs of the pleasure building deep within.
"Do you want to cum, my love? Gonna take every drop of daddy's cum inside?" he moaned into your ear. His husky voice was so hot, and the feeling of him, pressed into you, so unbelievably warm and powerful, caused your body to tense, and then go limp under his strong hands. "Want to give you a baby too, sweetheart. I'm ready for another set of twins, and another set after that, if I'm blessed with it."
And when Jongho slid his tip between your sensitive folds, hitting every raw spot he could as your body shook, that was it. The walls of your pussy contracted against him, a gush of his cum emptied inside of you, making its way to your awaiting womb, hoping for it to take seed and create more lives. You moaned and threw your head back, thrusting your hips upwards to meet his one final time.
Jongho grunted into your shoulder as he fucked his load into you, cumming as deep inside you as he could possibly go and taking deep breaths.
You wrap your legs around his waist, locking him against you and pushing his cock to the hilt inside your dripping walls, not willing to let a single drop escape. His pulsing cock makes your core pulse. The two of you stay as still as possible as you catch your breath, Jongho breathing hot air down your chest.
"Don't you dare pull out yet, Choi Jongho," you ordered firmly. You needed him close, wanted him near you. Jongho smiled up at you.
"Is that what you want?"
"Mmmmhhmmm..." you moan, and wiggle your hips to make his cock stir your insides. Jongho moaned back into the mattress and grabbed your waist tightly. You squeal in delight at his sudden movement, then press your lips firmly against his, claiming him as your own.
"Y/N...would you marry me?" Jongho asked softly a few minutes later, as he propped up on his left elbow and looked deeply into your eyes, stroking your hair gently. "Officially be the girls' mother and my wife? I was hoping..."
He reached down beneath the pillows, and pulled something from underneath it. He looked shy as he revealed a black velvet box in the palm of his hand, holding it out towards you. "Would you, please?"
"Yes, Jongho." You say in response, watching him open the small, velvet box. Jongho exhales and a smile appears on his handsome features as he pulls the ring out of its housing, sliding the metal band on your ring finger of your left hand. "Absolutely yes."
It fit perfectly.
He crushed his lips to yours and you sighed into the passionate kiss, running your hands through his hair as his tongue pressed inside. It felt good, almost too good, but he pulled away and laid back on the bed.
After a while of cuddling, kissing, and playing with his hair, Jongho buried his head in the crook of you neck. "I think we should clean the sheets, shower and just cuddle..." He said quietly. "I have a feeling that the girls will barge in once they're awake and we don't need them seeing this mess or smelling the room."
You hum in agreement. You and Jongho kiss softly, barely audible 'I love you's' being whispered between the two of you, your fingers running through his silky strands. You love this. You're so in love and you can't imagine not being with Jongho, and you truly love and adore his two girls.
After getting the room and the two of you cleaned, and the sheets changed and clothes pulled back on, the two of you laid comfortably in bed in each other's arms.
Jongho turned so that he was hovering over you, one hand propping him up, the other lightly caressing your cheek and thumb tracing your bottom lip. He lowered his head and brushed his nose against yours, lightly pressing his lips against yours. He pulled away to see your cheeks a rosy tint of pink. He leaned his forehead on yours and chuckled. He went back in to continue kissing you.
The door flew open and the bed dipped as two weights jumped onto the end of the bed. Jongho rolled over, the twins landing in the bed, bouncing with their jump, laughing loudly. Joomi moved to sit on your lap, and Jooeun did the same with her dad.
"How was your nap?" You asked the girls, hearing the loud screams of the other children and their parents somewhere in the cabin.
"Good but we're hungry and Uncle Joong told us to wake you up for lunch, so we did! But we didn't run here. We walked." Joomi said.
"Yes," Jooeun agrees.
"Are you sure you walked or ran? I heard some feet scampering down the hall when I woke up," you smirked and booped their noses. They giggled.
"Y/N, are you and Daddy a couple now?" Joomi whispered in your ear. You heard Jooeun asking her dad the same thing.
You and Jongho both chanced a glance at the other before saying at the same time, "Are we?"
Jongho laughed before leaning in and giving you a small kiss on the lips. He also glanced at the girls who were jumping and cheering in your arms. "Why don’t we get you girls and Mommy something to eat?"
"I could hear them telling the other adults that their little plan worked." You whispered. The twins were talking your ears off, excited that you were going to be their new mother now that you and their daddy had finally gotten together.
"I love you." Jongho kissed you as the four of you walked together out to where the other adults were, to have their lunch.
"I love you, too." You kissed him back before kissing the top of the twins' heads. "And I love my new little girls so much."
The twins squealed and screamed louder, "Mommy, yay!" They both launched at you, hugging the life out of you.
"C'mon Mommy, lunch now!" Jooeun pulled you forward towards the table that had been set up for the lunch buffet style. Joomi held out her hands, palm open, to her dad. Jongho chuckled before interlacing his fingers with hers. The four of you walked towards the long table where the rest of your friends and the kids had already made their way to and piled their plates with their food, before sitting together and enjoying their food.
"Told you the plan would work!" The twins exclaimed, the adults laughing.

Rainy Days and Bunny Ways🐰
Ft. Im Nayeon of TWICE | A Male Reader One Shot.
Genre: Fluff only. (It has a lot of cooking giddy scene because it always gets my heart racing)
Word count: 8443
Backstory: Nayeon and You have been friends for quite a while? How you met? Well, She is of course a member of TWICE and You were a soloist under the stage name (Whatever you think of it) and Song Producer who have contributed to TWICE's Discography. Since then, You and her hit it off. Maybe there is a chance of a flower of feelings blooming in her amidst the pressure of Being "Im Nayeon".
This is just a random one-shot i had in draft for long and just uploaded it. I made it because i watched some cute Nayeon moments and i wanted to make something fluffy imagining her
Y/N: "Ahhh, such a peaceful rainy day
The sound of rain pattering against your window was soothing, a perfect backdrop to the peaceful silence in your apartment. You were lounging on the couch, scrolling through your phone, when the doorbell rang, breaking the calm.
Before you could even get up to answer, the door creaked open. In stepped Nayeon, dripping wet from the rain. Her hair clung to her face, but despite the downpour outside, she wore that signature mischievous grin of hers.
Nayeon: "Anneonghaseyo..."
You blinked in surprise, setting your phone aside as she walked in without waiting for an invitation. You raised an eyebrow.
Y/N: "Nayeon? What the-how did you-?"
Nayeon: shrugs dramatically "I couldn't help it. The rain's terrible out there, and I figured, hey, your apartment's closer than mine. Might as well crash here for a bit."
Y/N: "You're always so spontaneous." You laughed, getting up and walking toward the door to close it. "I guess you really are making yourself at home."
She rolled her eyes, but her lips still curved upward. She kicked off her shoes and casually plopped down on the couch, making herself comfortable, as though this was just another day.
Nayeon: "I didn't think I'd have to knock, honestly. I mean, we're friends, right?" Her voice was playful, but there was something in her eyes-a subtle shift that made you pause.
Y/N: smiling, though slightly concerned "Yeah, we are friends... but you usually call first, Nayeon."
Nayeon: "Where's the fun in that?" She glanced at you, her expression light but not entirely matching the brightness in her tone. "Plus, I thought you'd be happy to see me."
You sat down beside her, sensing there was more to this unexpected visit. Nayeon, who was always the one making everyone laugh, didn't seem like her usual self. There was a weariness to her posture, and her playful demeanor felt forced.
Y/N: "You okay?"
Nayeon: pauses "Of course I'm okay..." She paused again, her fingers absentmindedly playing with the sleeve of her jacket. "Just... needed a break from everything."
You eyed her carefully, not buying the 'I'm fine' excuse. You'd known her long enough to recognize when she was masking something deeper.
Y/N: "You sure? You don't seem like your usual self today."
Nayeon: sighs "You're always so observant, aren't you?" She chuckled lightly, but there was no real joy in it. "I don't know, I just... need to breathe, you know? It's like everything's been piling up lately, and I feel like I'm stuck in this constant performance."
Her voice wavered slightly, and that's when you realized something was definitely off. Nayeon wasn't one to open up easily, especially about personal stuff like this.
Y/N: "You can tell me, you know. You don't always have to be the 'Nayeon' everyone expects. You can be yourself here."
She met your gaze, her eyes softening, almost hesitant.
Nayeon: "I don't know how to be anyone else. I've been the 'happy-go-lucky' Nayeon for so long, sometimes I forget what it's like to just be me."
The words hung in the air, and for a moment, you didn't know how to respond. It was rare for Nayeon to drop the act, and it made you realize just how much she carried on her shoulders every day-being the center of attention, the one everyone looked to for energy and smiles.
Y/N: "You don't have to keep up the act with me, Nayeon. I get it. You can take a break."
She smiled faintly, but it was a different smile-one that was more vulnerable.
Nayeon: "You're a good listener, Y/N." Her voice was quieter now, a small, appreciative glimmer in her eyes. "Maybe I needed someone to talk to more than I realized."
Y/N: softly "You know I'm always here for you, right?"
For a moment, the two of you just sat there in the quiet of your apartment, the steady rhythm of the rain accompanying the rare and intimate silence between you. Nayeon looked down at her hands, her fingers absently twirling a strand of wet hair.
Nayeon: "I just feel... like there's no time for me anymore. Everything's about the next performance, the next stage, the next expectation. It's exhausting."
You nodded, understanding the weight she was carrying. She had to constantly be 'on' for everyone-TWICE's cheerful and charismatic Nayeon. But who was she behind the idol persona? That was the question she never really answered.
Y/N: "You deserve to have time for yourself, Nayeon. You're more than just an idol, you know."
Her eyes flickered up to meet yours, her gaze soft yet searching.
Nayeon: "Do you really think that?" Her voice was quiet, almost uncertain.
Y/N: "Of course. You've always been more than what people see on stage."
For a brief moment, it felt like you were both just two people, sitting in a room, no expectations, no roles. Just Nayeon and you.
Her gaze lingered on you for a heartbeat longer, before she shifted, her usual teasing tone returning.
Nayeon: "Well, I guess I do have one request, then..." Her lips curled into a playful grin.
Y/N: "What's that?"
Nayeon: "Can I stay here for a little longer? It's nice to have someone who doesn't expect me to be Nayeon, the Bunny of TWICE."
You nodded without hesitation.
Y/N: "Stay as long as you want."
Nayeon leaned back against the couch, her expression lightening as she tucked her damp hair behind her ear, the weight of her earlier words slowly melting away.
The rain outside had softened, leaving only a gentle mist hanging in the air. The two of you were still on the couch, the room cozy despite the weather, the quiet broken only by the occasional sound of rain tapping against the windows. Nayeon had relaxed, but the heaviness in her eyes was still there, hidden just beneath her playful mask. You could tell she was trying to bury it, but it kept seeping through. You had said it earlier, but you couldn't shake the feeling that something more was on her mind-something she wasn't saying.
You both sat in silence for a while, her feet tucked up under her and her head leaning back against the couch. Her eyes were closed, but the tension in her shoulders was evident. You had given her space, not wanting to push her, but it was hard to ignore the growing weight in your chest. Nayeon wasn't just tired; she was burdened. She wasn't just a happy idol here. She was... just Nayeon, a person with her own struggles, her own fears.
Y/N: softly "You know, I never realized how much pressure you were under until now."
Her eyes fluttered open, her gaze falling on you. There was something different about the way she looked at you in that moment-more than just the usual teasing or flirtation. It was as if, for once, she wasn't hiding anything. She wasn't trying to put on a show.
Nayeon: quietly "It's hard, Y/N. I don't think anyone truly gets it. They all see the smiles, the energy, the laughter-but there's so much more beneath the surface. It's exhausting, always being 'Im Nayeon.'"
The vulnerability in her voice caught you off guard. You had always seen Nayeon as the one who could handle anything, the one who could make anyone smile no matter the situation. But here she was, admitting something you'd never heard her say before.
Y/N: gently "I think... I think I get it more than you think." You leaned forward slightly, catching her eyes. "You've always been the strong one, the one who holds everything together. But it's okay to let go sometimes. You don't have to carry everything on your own."
Nayeon blinked, her lips parting slightly as if she was about to say something, but then she paused. The air between you both felt thick, as if the words she wanted to say were just waiting to be set free. Slowly, she shifted on the couch, sitting up a little straighter.
Nayeon: softly "I don't know how to let go, Y/N. I've spent so long holding everything together... I don't know what it means to be anything else." She looked down at her hands, the hesitation in her movements palpable. "I guess that's why I came here today. I didn't know who else to turn to."
You could feel your heart ache for her. Nayeon was the embodiment of strength for everyone else, but she was never given a chance to be vulnerable, to just be herself without the expectations of the world weighing on her.
Y/N: "You don't have to be perfect all the time. It's okay to break down sometimes." You reached out, your hand resting gently on hers. "It's okay to need someone."
Nayeon glanced up at you, her eyes locking with yours, and for the first time that day, she didn't look away. The walls she had built around herself, the act she put on for the world, were crumbling bit by bit. And in that moment, she was just Nayeon. Not the idol, not the performer, but the woman who had been holding it all together for far too long.
Nayeon: in a small voice "Do you really mean that?" She seemed to be searching your face for any hint of doubt, but there was none. Only sincerity.
You gave her a small, reassuring smile.
Y/N: "I mean it." You squeezed her hand gently. "You're not alone, Nayeon. Not now, not ever."
For a long moment, neither of you spoke. There was nothing else to say. The weight of her words had been shared, and it was as if the room itself exhaled with her. Nayeon's shoulders seemed to relax, just a little, and the guarded look in her eyes softened.
Then, slowly, she smiled. A real smile. Not the playful one or the teasing one, but something deeper, more genuine. It was a smile that spoke of relief, of finally finding a space where she didn't have to hide, where she could simply be herself.
Nayeon: "Thank you, Y/N. I didn't realize how much I needed this."
Her voice was soft, but there was a warmth to it, a sense of comfort she hadn't shown in a long time. In that moment, you knew she wasn't just grateful for the company. She was grateful for the fact that she could be real with you-something she rarely allowed herself to do with anyone.
And in that moment, you realized that the bond between you and Nayeon wasn't just about the moments of laughter or casual interactions. It was about understanding each other on a deeper level, beyond the surface, beyond the fame and the expectations. It was about being there for each other, even when the world was too much to bear.
The room felt warmer now, the tension slowly melting away, replaced by a comforting silence between you and Nayeon. But you could feel something still lingering in the air-something unspoken, something that needed to be said. Nayeon had opened up to you, more than she ever had before, but there was still a weight in her eyes. Something still unsettled her.
You sat across from her, watching her carefully, when she finally broke the silence.
Nayeon: softly "Y/N... can I ask you something?"
You looked up, noticing the slight tremor in her voice. Something about her tone felt different, quieter, as if she was steeling herself for something important.
Y/N: "Of course. You can ask me anything, Nayeon."
She hesitated for a moment, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her sleeve, a habit you had come to recognize as a sign of unease. Her eyes were on the floor now, and the vulnerability in her expression made your heart ache. You could tell this was something she had been holding in for a while.
Nayeon: "I... I don't know how to say this, but..." She trailed off, taking a deep breath before meeting your gaze. Her voice shook ever so slightly, but it was steady enough for you to catch the intensity in her eyes. "I've been thinking a lot lately, about us. About how I feel about you."
You sat up straighter, your heart beginning to race. You had a feeling this was coming, but hearing her say it out loud was something entirely different. Your mind raced, but you stayed quiet, giving her the space to continue.
Y/N: softly "Nay-..."
Nayeon: cutting you off "No, wait. I need to say this." She swallowed hard, her voice a little firmer now, though still uncertain. "I've been hiding it for so long. I've kept this... this feeling buried because I didn't know how to deal with it. But I can't pretend anymore."
She paused, taking another deep breath, her eyes never leaving yours. There was something raw and vulnerable about the way she looked at you now. It wasn't the usual playful or teasing Nayeon-it was someone entirely different. Someone who had finally found the courage to be real.
Nayeon: "I think... I think I've been falling for you, Y/N. For a while now."
Her words hit you like a wave. You blinked, not sure how to process what she had just said. But there was no mistaking it-the sincerity in her voice was undeniable. You could see the truth of it in her eyes even though she hid it with her palms in uncertainty and fear, the way she was holding herself, so exposed and vulnerable, waiting for your reaction.
Y/N: quietly "Nayeon... I-"
Nayeon: quickly "I know, I know this is sudden. I know it might be too much. But I've been holding this in for so long, and it's been driving me crazy. I couldn't keep pretending that it was just friendship. It's more than that. It's... I feel something deeper for you, Y/N."
The words hung in the air between you, and for a moment, you didn't know how to respond. Nayeon had never been this honest before, never allowed herself to be this vulnerable. It took a lot of courage to say what she just did. You couldn't ignore the depth of her feelings, but at the same time, you didn't want to make her feel like you were dismissing what she had just confessed.
You took a deep breath, shifting slightly on the couch to face her fully. You didn't want to rush this. You didn't want her to feel like she had said all of that for nothing. So, instead of blurting out something hasty, you let the silence settle for a moment, giving yourself time to choose your words carefully.
Y/N: calmly "Nayeon, I... I appreciate you telling me this. I know it wasn't easy." You looked her directly in the eyes, your voice steady. "I want you to know that I understand how you feel. I really do. I've been thinking a lot about... us, too."
Nayeon's eyes widened slightly, her lips parting as if she were about to speak, but you gently held up your hand, signaling her to wait.
Y/N: "But I also want you to know that I'm not going to rush into anything. I don't want to make any decisions based on impulse or because of how we're feeling in this moment. What you've told me... it means a lot, Nayeon. It really does."
She nodded slowly, her expression softening. You could see the relief in her face, though there was still a trace of doubt in her eyes, as if she were waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Y/N: "I think I've been feeling the same way for a while now, but it's not just about rushing into something. It's about being sure, about making sure that this is something we both want, for the right reasons."
Nayeon looked at you, her lips slightly trembling as if she were processing your words. You reached out, gently taking her hand in yours, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
Y/N: "I'm not saying 'no.' I'm just saying... let's take this one step at a time, okay? We both deserve to take it slow and figure things out together."
Nayeon's face softened, and her shoulders seemed to relax as she took in your words. Slowly, she nodded, a small but genuine smile tugging at her lips.
Nayeon: "Yeah... that sounds good. I can wait." She gave you a playful, teasing grin. "But just so you know, I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me now."
You chuckled, the tension finally easing between the two of you. The weight of her confession, of your own feelings, was still there, but it no longer felt suffocating. It felt like a beginning-something new, something real.
Y/N: smiling "I think I can handle that."
And just like that, the air between you both shifted. The uncertainty and weight of the moment gave way to something lighter, something more hopeful. The first step had been taken. The rest? That would come in time.
Nayeon: grinning "So, Y/N, does this mean I'm officially your girlfriend now? Or are we still in that weird 'figuring things out' phase?"
Y/N: raising an eyebrow "We're definitely still in the 'figuring things out' phase. Can't rush these things. I've got to make sure you're not just a one-time fling, you know."
Nayeon: mock gasps "A one-time fling? Excuse me? I'm a full-package deal. I don't do 'flings.' I'm commitment material, Y/N. Big time."
Y/N: smirking "Oh, really? That's funny, because you can't even commit to finishing a cup of coffee without getting distracted."
Nayeon: laughing "Hey, I'm a busy woman! Besides, I just want to keep things exciting. Keeps you on your toes, right?"
Y/N: sighing dramatically "Yeah, I'm definitely on my toes. And my patience, apparently. You've already managed to make me late for three meetings in a row. You're a handful, Nayeon."
Nayeon: teasing "Well, maybe you're just bad at time management. I think we need to work on your priorities here. You should be making time for me, not your boring old meetings."
Y/N: playfully rolling his eyes "Boring? Those meetings are what pay the bills. How else are you going to keep buying all those ridiculous outfits?"
Nayeon: mock offense "Excuse me, my outfits are an investment in style. It's called 'fashion,' Y/N. Maybe you should try it sometime."
Y/N: grinning "Oh, I've seen your wardrobe. There's more glitter and sequins in your closet than at a Vegas show. I'm starting to wonder if you're secretly auditioning for the next big performance."
Nayeon: snorts "I'm a star, Y/N. You just don't recognize it yet. When I hit the stage, it's like the world stops. You'll see." She winks dramatically.
Y/N: smirking "I'm sure. Just make sure you don't blind anyone with all that glitter. You know, safety first."
Nayeon: laughing "I'm a professional, okay? I've got it under control. Unlike you, who can barely juggle his calendar without turning it into a disaster."
Y/N: mock hurt "Wow, this is harsh. I thought we were in the 'figuring things out' phase, not roasting each other alive."
Nayeon: grinning mischievously "Oh, we are. But part of figuring things out is knowing how to handle the heat, right? You've got to be able to keep up with me, Y/N. Otherwise, I'll just leave you in the dust."
Y/N: laughing "Leave me in the dust? I'm pretty sure I've been handling your chaos just fine. And if you think I can't keep up, then you clearly haven't seen me handle you at full speed."
Nayeon: raising an eyebrow "Oh, really? Is that a challenge? Because I'm more than happy to prove you wrong. Just say the word."
Y/N: playfully grinning "Alright, alright. But no promises that I'll go easy on you. I've been known to win a few challenges in my time."
Nayeon: mockingly "Oh please. You're adorable when you try to act tough. I can already hear the excuses you'll make when I crush you."
Y/N: laughing "Excuses? There won't be any excuses, Nayeon. I'll beat you fair and square. And then, I'll make you regret ever challenging me."
Nayeon: teasing "Oh, I'm already regretting it. But hey, what's life without a little bit of fun, right? Besides, I like watching you squirm when you lose. It's cute."
Y/N: mock indignation "Cute? You think me losing is cute? You're really going to go there, huh?"
Nayeon: "Oh, don't worry. I'll go easy on you. After all, I'm a lady. And ladies don't like to humiliate their partners too much."
And she shot her famous bunny grin at you again.
Y/N: laughing "I'm not your partner yet, Nayeon. Remember, we're still in the 'figuring things out' stage. I haven't agreed to any humiliations just yet."
Nayeon: playfully pouting "Aw, come on, Y/N. Don't be so uptight. You'll be fine. I'll make sure I leave you with at least a little bit of dignity."
Y/N: grinning "Oh, don't worry. I don't need your pity. I'll beat you so thoroughly that you'll be the one needing my help to pick up the pieces."
Nayeon: laughing "I'm looking forward to it, Y/N. Let's see if you can back up that big talk. But just remember, I'm the one who holds the winning card here. You're about to find out just how hard it is to keep up with me."
Y/N: narrowing his eyes "We'll see about that. But I'll warn you, Nayeon... once I start, there's no turning back. You'll be begging for mercy."
Nayeon: teasing "Begging for mercy? Hah, I highly doubt it. You'll be the one begging once I'm done with you."
Y/N: grinning widely "Alright, alright. Let's get this over with then. Prepare to be humbled, Nayeon."
Nayeon: grinning back "We'll see who's humbled by the end of this. You're on, Y/N. Let the games begin."
The banter from earlier still lingers in the air, the playful energy between you and Nayeon refusing to die down. She stands in front of you, her eyes mischievously gleaming, clearly enjoying the back-and-forth as much as you do. But something shifts in the air now, something unspoken but palpable.
You take a step back, trying to hide the sudden rush of nerves settling in your stomach. The playful teasing has always been your thing, your way of keeping things light between the two of you, but now... now it feels different. You can't quite place it, but there's a tension hanging between you, thick enough to feel in the pit of your stomach.
Nayeon notices it too. She steps closer, closing the gap between the two of you, her gaze not leaving yours.
Nayeon: softly, but with a playful glint "You're not getting cold feet, are you?"
You chuckle nervously, attempting to brush it off, but her eyes seem to peer right through you. There's a quiet intensity in her gaze, one that matches the shift in the atmosphere. She's always been this confident, this bold, but now there's something deeper behind her usual teasing smile.
Y/N: grinning, trying to act nonchalant "Cold feet? Never. Just... letting you catch up. You've been getting ahead of yourself today."
Nayeon raises an eyebrow, leaning in closer, her face now mere inches from yours. The air around you both feels heavy, thick with unspoken words, and something else, something that feels like it's been building for longer than either of you would care to admit.
Nayeon: low and teasing "Oh really? You're saying I'm ahead of you?" She smirks, letting her gaze travel down for a moment before returning to your eyes. "Then maybe you should take the lead."
Her voice is hushed now, softer, and there's a warmth in her words that wasn't there before. It catches you off guard, and your heart skips a beat. You're both standing close enough now that you can feel the heat of her body, the scent of her perfume lingering in the air, mixing with the familiar scent of your apartment. The closeness is intoxicating.
You try to say something, to crack another joke, but the words get caught in your throat. Instead, all you can do is hold her gaze, the playful banter long gone from your mind. In this moment, everything feels charged, as if the world has paused just for the two of you.
She takes another step closer, her lips just a breath away from yours. You can hear her soft breathing, feel the slight shiver in the air as her gaze drops to your lips and then back up to your eyes.
Nayeon: quietly, almost in a whisper "Y/N..."
Your name escapes her lips like a delicate melody, and it sends a shiver down your spine. The weight of the moment presses down on you, and you can no longer deny what's been building between the two of you. It's as if everything else has faded away, leaving just the two of you in this charged space, caught between what's been said and what's left unspoken.
You want to kiss her. The realization hits you harder than you expect. It's not some impulsive decision, not something borne out of the teasing and playful banter. This is real, this is different. You want her, want to feel the softness of her lips, want to taste the sweetness of her kiss. It's been there all along, just buried beneath layers of jokes and casual touches. But now... now it's undeniable.
You raise your hand, hesitating for just a moment before reaching out to gently brush a lock of hair behind her ear. The touch is soft, delicate, almost reverent. It's enough to draw her attention, her eyes flickering down to your lips before meeting your gaze once more.
For a brief second, you wonder if you're misreading this, if she's feeling the same thing, but the way she leans in, her breath mingling with yours, tells you everything you need to know.
Y/N: softly, voice steady but heart pounding "Nay, I--...."
And then, she closes the distance.
Her lips meet yours gently at first, testing, like the first drop of rain after a long dry spell. But then it deepens, and you feel the urgency in the way she presses against you, as if she's been waiting for this moment just as much as you have. Her hands find their way to your neck, pulling you closer, her fingers threading through your hair, and you're lost in it. Her lips are soft, yet firm, claiming you in a way that sends every ounce of reason scrambling for escape.
You return the kiss with just as much intensity, your hands moving to her waist, pulling her closer, as if there's nothing in the world that could keep you apart. The taste of her is sweet, addictive, and you lose yourself in the way she molds against you, her body pressing closer as if there's nowhere else she'd rather be.
For a moment, everything else ceases to matter. The teasing, the playful banter, the doubts, the uncertainty-all of it fades into the background as you focus only on the feeling of her in your arms, the warmth of her lips against yours, the way she fits so perfectly.
When you finally pull away, your breaths are ragged, your heart racing in a way it never has before. You rest your forehead against hers, both of you still catching your breath, the silence between you now comfortable, intimate.
Nayeon: softly, with a smug way of brushing her hair back "So... does this mean we're done 'figuring things' out?"
You chuckle, running a hand through your hair, still trying to regain some semblance of composure. But the grin on your face is wide, a mix of disbelief and excitement, because deep down, you both know this is the beginning of something far more real than you could have imagined.
Y/N: smiling, voice steady "I think... I think we've figured it out."
And you both laugh softly, the moment between you still charged, but now, it's comfortable. It's right. And somehow, in this tangled mess of emotions, this kiss-this single, simple act-has sealed what was always meant to be.
(Time skip to Morning)
The morning light filters through the windows of your apartment, casting a soft glow over the room. Nayeon is curled up against you, her arms draped lazily around your torso, her head tucked beneath your chin. The steady rhythm of her breathing is soothing, a reminder of how peaceful these moments are when it's just the two of you.
She stirs slightly, nuzzling closer like a kitten seeking warmth. Her hair tickles your neck, and you can't help but smile at the sight of her so relaxed, so unguarded. It's a side of Nayeon the world rarely gets to see-her soft, clingy bunny self.
Nayeon: murmuring sleepily "Y/N... why're you up already?"
You chuckle softly, adjusting your position so she can rest more comfortably.
Y/N: teasingly "Because someone's been hogging all the covers. I got cold."
Her eyes flutter open, and she narrows them at you playfully before snuggling even closer.
Nayeon: grinning "You're not cold now, are you? You have me. I'm way better than any blanket."
You brush a strand of hair from her face, marveling at how stunning she looks even in the simplest moments.
Y/N: softly "You're right. You're better than anything."
She giggles, her signature bunny smile lighting up her face as she pokes your cheek.
Nayeon: teasingly "Of course, I am. You scored Im Nayeon of TWICE, not some random girl. You better treat me right, Y/N."
Her tone is playful, but there's an underlying sincerity in her words. She's teasing, but you know she's also reminding you how much this means to her-to both of you.
Y/N: grinning "Don't worry. I know exactly how lucky I am. I wouldn't dream of messing this up."
She seems satisfied with your answer, her arms tightening around you as she lets out a content sigh.
Later, as the rain begins to patter gently against the windows, the two of you find yourselves lounging on the couch. Nayeon has claimed her spot, tucked comfortably against your side with a blanket draped over both of you.
Nayeon: suddenly, with a mischievous grin "So... when are you taking me on an official date?"
You glance at her, amused by her sudden question.
Y/N: raising an eyebrow "Is this your way of asking me out? Shouldn't I be the one doing that?"
She rolls her eyes, poking your side in retaliation.
Nayeon: "Don't twist this around. I'm just saying, it's about time you show me off properly. You know, as your girlfriend."
The word "girlfriend" sends a thrill through you, even though it's still so new.
Y/N: thoughtfully "Alright, Ms. Im Nayeon of TWICE. What does your dream first date look like?"
She taps her chin, pretending to think hard about it.
Nayeon: dramatically "Hmm... let's see. Fancy dinner? Nah, too cliché. A walk on the beach? Too cold right now. Oh! Maybe something cozy, like a movie night under the stars."
Y/N: smiling "That sounds perfect. But with the rain, we might have to improvise."
Her eyes light up as an idea strikes her.
Nayeon: excitedly "What if we do something simple? Like cooking together at home? You know, a little romantic, a little chaotic."
You chuckle at the thought.
Y/N: "Cooking together? Are you sure you're ready to see how bad I am in the kitchen?"
She smirks, her confidence unwavering.
Nayeon: "Don't worry. I'll supervise. You just have to follow my instructions. Easy peasy."
You laugh, knowing full well that nothing with Nayeon is ever as simple as she makes it sound.
As the two of you finalize the plans for your cozy, at-home date, the conversation drifts into more reflective territory. Nayeon turns to face you, her expression softer now, more serious.
Nayeon: quietly "You know... this is still a little surreal for me. Us, I mean."
You take her hand, squeezing it gently.
Y/N: reassuringly "It's surreal for me too. But it feels right, doesn't it?"
She nods, her eyes glistening with emotion.
Nayeon: "It does. It really does. I just... I don't want anything to ruin this. Not my career, not the pressure from fans, nothing."
You pull her closer, wrapping your arms around her in a protective embrace.
Y/N: firmly "Nothing's going to ruin this. We'll figure it out together, one step at a time."
She smiles, her confidence returning as she presses a kiss to your cheek.
Nayeon: playfully "Alright then, Mr. Boyfriend. Let's seal the deal with a kiss."
She pulled you in a lovely kiss. Her lips felt soft almost squishy in a way which was just "Nayeon" like. The kiss is soft and tender, a perfect blend of affection and promise. Her lips curve into a smile against yours, and when she pulls away, she's back to her usual playful self.
Nayeon: grinning "Okay, enough mushy stuff. I'm hungry. Go make me something delicious!"
You raise an eyebrow, amused by her sudden change in tone.
Y/N: teasingly "You're awfully demanding for someone who just got promoted to girlfriend status."
She pokes your chest, pouting adorably.
Nayeon: "Excuse me? I think I've earned the right to be demanding. Besides, it's raining, and rainy weather calls for comfort food. Chop chop!"
Laughing, you get up from the couch, heading to the kitchen. She follows close behind, like a shadow, clearly not planning to leave you alone.
Y/N: playfully "Are you going to help, or just supervise?"
Nayeon: grinning "I'm the quality control. Someone has to make sure you don't mess up."
The two of you spend the next hour in the kitchen, laughing and teasing as you prepare her favorite dish. She steals bites when she thinks you're not looking, giggling when you catch her red-handed.
By the time the food is ready, the rain has turned into a soft drizzle, and the two of you settle back on the couch with your plates, the warmth of the meal and each other's presence filling the room with a sense of contentment.
As you sit there, sharing food and laughter, you can't help but feel that this is what happiness looks like-simple, unpretentious, and shared with the person who makes your world brighter with every smile.
Nayeon leans her head on your shoulder, her voice soft but full of warmth.
Nayeon: "You're not so bad, Y/N. Maybe I'll keep you around for a while."
You laugh, wrapping an arm around her.
Y/N: teasingly "Only 'for a while'? I was hoping for something a little more permanent."
She looks up at you, her eyes sparkling.
Nayeon: smiling "We'll see... but you're off to a pretty good start."
And with that, she presses a kiss to your cheek, sealing the moment with the kind of love that feels both exciting and comfortably familiar-like home.
This is where your journey together truly begins, not as two people finding their way to each other, but as a team, ready to take on whatever the world throws at you, one playful banter and shared meal at a time.
The rain had settled into a gentle rhythm against the windows, its soothing sound filling the quiet of the apartment. You were in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up and focused on chopping banana for the custard you had promised Nayeon. The warm scent of custard mix and cold mist of mango ice cream already filled the air, a comforting contrast to the cool, rainy weather outside.
Behind you, you could hear the faint patter of bare feet on the floor before a pair of slender arms slipped around your waist.
Nayeon: softly "What are you making for me, chef Y/N?"
Her voice was playful, laced with affection as she rested her chin on your shoulder.
Y/N: chuckling "You'll see. Patience, bunny."
She giggled at the nickname, nuzzling her face into the crook of your neck.
Nayeon: murmuring "Patience is overrated. I'd rather watch you cook. You look so cute when you're concentrating."
You glanced over your shoulder at her, raising an eyebrow.
Y/N: "Cute, huh? Are you trying to distract me so I mess up?"
Nayeon: grinning "Maybe. Is it working?"
You laughed, shaking your head as you returned to your chopping. But Nayeon wasn't done with you yet. She moved to your side, leaning against the counter with her arms crossed and an adorably pouty expression on her face.
Nayeon: dramatically "You're ignoring me, Y/N. That's so mean. I thought I was your girlfriend now."
You couldn't help but smile at her antics.
Y/N: teasingly "I'm not ignoring you. I'm just making sure you don't go hungry. Isn't that what a good boyfriend does?"
Nayeon: huffing "A good boyfriend also pays attention to his girlfriend. Like, maybe gives her a kiss or two while he's cooking."
You set the knife down, turning to face her with a smirk.
Y/N: "A kiss or two, huh? Is that all you want?"
She nodded, her eyes wide and innocent as she leaned closer.
Nayeon: softly "For now."
Unable to resist, you leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. But before you could pull away, she tugged you closer, her lips meeting yours in a sweet, lingering kiss that left you both smiling.
Nayeon: whispering against your lips "Now that's more like it."
As you returned to the stove, stirring the pot, Nayeon stayed close, her hand resting lightly on your arm. She hummed a tune under her breath, a soft, melodic sound that made your heart swell.
Nayeon: curiously "What are you making, anyway? It smells amazing."
Y/N: "It's your favorite custard type, remember? You mentioned it earlier."
Her eyes lit up, a bright smile spreading across her face.
Nayeon: "You remembered? Y/N, you're the best!"
She reached up to pinch your cheek affectionately, laughing when you swatted her hand away.
Y/N: grinning "Of course, I remembered. How could I forget something so important? Because you would choke me if i forget "
Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she ducked her head, suddenly shy.
Nayeon: murmuring "I dont do that! But You're really sweet, you know that?"
You glanced at her, surprised by her sudden bashfulness.
Y/N: "Only for you, Nayeon. Don't get used to it."
She laughed, the sound filling the room like sunshine breaking through the rain.
As the food finished cooking, Nayeon insisted on helping you set the table, though her version of "helping" mostly involved sneaking bites of food and teasing you every chance she got.
Nayeon: grinning "You know, this could be our thing. Cooking together on rainy days."
Y/N: smirking "You mean me cooking while you 'supervise'?"
She stuck her tongue out at you, her playful nature shining through.
Nayeon: "Hey, I'm great at supervising. And taste-testing. That's important too!"
You shook your head, laughing as you placed the final dish on the table.
Y/N: "Alright, Ms. Taste-Tester. Let's see if it's up to your standards."
She took a bite, her eyes widening in delight.
Nayeon: "Y/N, this is amazing! I knew you were talented, but this... this is boyfriend material right here."
You rolled your eyes at her dramatic praise, though you couldn't help but feel a surge of pride at her reaction.
Y/N: teasingly "High praise coming from Im Nayeon of TWICE. Should I frame that?"
She laughed, reaching across the table to swat at your hand.
Nayeon: "Don't push your luck, chef. Now eat before it gets warm!"
After dinner, the two of you found yourselves back on the couch, the rain still tapping softly against the windows. Nayeon was curled up beside you, her head resting on your shoulder as she traced random patterns on your arm with her fingers.
Nayeon: softly "Today was perfect. Thank you, Y/N."
You turned to look at her, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
Y/N: "It's not over yet. There's still dessert."
Her eyes lit up, and she sat up excitedly.
Nayeon: "Dessert? Didnt we have custard already? What is it?"
You grinned, keeping your answer a mystery as you got up and headed to the kitchen. When you returned with a small plate of chocolate-syrup covered vanilla ice cream, her face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning.
Nayeon: "Y/N, you're spoiling me. I could get used to this."
Y/N: smirking "That's the plan."
She laughed, pulling you back down beside her and feeding you one of the strawberries.
Nayeon: teasingly "You know, if you keep this up, I might never let you go."
Y/N: softly "Good. I wasn't planning on going anywhere."
Her smile softened, and she leaned in to press a gentle kiss to your lips.
Nayeon: whispering "You're really good at this boyfriend thing"
Y/N: grinning "And you're really good at being my girlfriend."
She laughed, her cheeks flushing slightly as she cuddled closer to you.
Nayeon: "We make a pretty good team, don't we?"
Y/N: "The best."
And as the rain continued to fall outside, you held her close, the warmth of her presence filling your heart with a sense of peace and happiness you had never known before.
The rain outside turned heavier, its rhythmic patter filling the apartment with a cozy, calming atmosphere. You stood by the counter, preparing the next dish Nayeon had requested, gosh how much she wants to eat?? but she had other ideas.
Her arms snaked around your waist from behind, and you felt her soft cheek press against your back.
Nayeon: murmuring "It's cold. Let me stay like this."
You paused for a moment, smiling to yourself before continuing to chop the vegetables.
Y/N: "You know, it's hard to cook when you're clinging to me like this."
Nayeon: teasingly "Then don't cook. Stay here and cuddle me instead."
You turned slightly, looking down at her with an amused expression.
Y/N: "If I do that, you won't get your food. Isn't this what you begged me for?"
Nayeon: pouting "I didn't beg. I asked nicely. There's a difference."
Y/N: smirking "Sure, bunny. Whatever you say."
She gave a playful huff but didn't let go. Instead, she tightened her hold and buried her face in your back.
Nayeon: muffled "You smell good. Like spices and... you."
You chuckled, shaking your head as you reached for a pan.
Y/N: "Is that a compliment or your way of distracting me again?"
Nayeon: grinning "Both."
As you began sautéing the vegetables, Nayeon moved to your side, her fingers lightly trailing along your arm.
Nayeon: curiously "What's next? Do I get to help?"
Y/N: raising an eyebrow "Help, huh? Last time you tried to 'help,' you almost burned the kitchen down."
Her eyes widened in mock indignation, and she lightly smacked your shoulder.
Nayeon: "That was one time! And it wasn't even my fault. The stove was being weird."
You laughed, shaking your head.
Y/N: "Okay, okay. If you want to help, you can stir this."
Handing her the spatula, you watched as she eagerly took over, her movements a bit clumsy but filled with enthusiasm.
Nayeon: grinning "Look at me! I'm a pro chef now."
Y/N: "Sure you are. Just don't let it stick to the pan."
Nayeon: mock serious "Yes, chef!"
As she stirred, you leaned over to adjust the heat, and she took the opportunity to turn her head and kiss your cheek.
Y/N: surprised "What was that for?"
Nayeon: shrugging innocently "For being cute."
Y/N: teasingly "If I'm cute, what does that make you?"
She smirked, her confidence shining through.
Nayeon: "Irresistible, obviously."
You laughed, shaking your head at her boldness.
Y/N: "Can't argue with that."
Her laughter filled the kitchen, blending with the sound of the rain as she continued stirring.
After a few minutes, you took over again, and Nayeon decided to occupy herself by leaning against your side, her head resting on your shoulder as you worked.
Nayeon: softly "Did you take bachelors in this? Cooking, taking care of me... just being you."
You glanced down at her, touched by her words.
Y/N: "And you're really good at making me feel like the luckiest guy alive."
Her cheeks turned pink, and she hid her face against your shoulder.
Nayeon: "Stop being so sweet. You're going to make me cry."
You chuckled, placing a hand over hers where it rested on your arm.
Y/N: "It's only fair. You do the same to me."
As the dish neared completion, Nayeon's playful side resurfaced. She stood in front of you, blocking your path as you tried to reach for the plates.
Y/N: "Nayeon, move. I need to plate this."
Nayeon: grinning mischievously "Not until you give me another kiss."
You sighed dramatically, though the smile tugging at your lips betrayed you.
Y/N: "You're impossible, you know that?"
Nayeon: smirking "And you love it."
You leaned down, pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
Y/N: "Happy now?"
Nayeon: pretending to think "Hmm... maybe one more."
You rolled your eyes but obliged, pulling her in for a deeper kiss that left you both breathless.
Nayeon: softly "Okay, now I'm happy."
Finally, you managed to plate the food, and the two of you sat down to enjoy the meal. But even as you ate, Nayeon couldn't resist scooting closer, her hand resting on your knee as she leaned against you.
Nayeon: murmuring "This is perfect. The food, the rain, you... everything."
You looked at her, your heart swelling with affection.
Y/N: "I couldn't agree more."
And as the rain continued to fall outside, you couldn't help but feel like this moment-cooking, laughing, and sharing quiet kisses with Nayeon-was exactly where you were meant to be.
The rain continued to tap against the windows, a gentle lullaby that filled the room with serenity. You leaned back against the couch, the faint glow of the kitchen light illuminating the space as Nayeon nestled herself into your side.
Her legs were draped over yours, her head resting comfortably against your chest. The faint smell of her shampoo mixed with the lingering aroma of the meal you'd just shared, and everything about this moment felt perfect.
Nayeon: softly, almost shyly "Thank you for being good at this, you know."
You tilted your head to look at her, your fingers absentmindedly running through her silky hair.
Y/N: "Good at what?"
Nayeon: glancing up at you "At making me feel... special. Loved."
Her words were barely above a whisper, but they hit you like a wave. You could see the vulnerability in her eyes, the raw emotion she rarely let anyone see.
You tightened your arms around her, pulling her closer as your lips pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.
Y/N: "You don't have to thank me for that, Nayeon. You deserve all of it and more."
Her cheeks flushed a delicate pink, and she let out a soft laugh, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on your chest.
Nayeon: teasingly "You're going to make me cry if you keep being this sweet."
Y/N: grinning "Good. That way, I can tease you back for once."
She lightly smacked your shoulder, but her laughter quickly faded into a content sigh as she relaxed against you.
The room grew quieter, the rain becoming the only sound as you both fell into a comfortable silence. You let your hand wander, trailing softly down her back, feeling the warmth of her through the fabric of her sweater. Nayeon shifted slightly, her eyes locking onto yours.
There was something different in her gaze now-a mix of playfulness and a deeper, unspoken emotion that made your heart race.
Nayeon: smiling coyly "You know, you're pretty irresistible when you're like this. All soft and sweet."
Y/N: raising an eyebrow "And you're not?"
She tilted her head, her lips curving into a sly smile.
Nayeon: "I mean... I know I am. But it's nice hearing you admit it."
You chuckled, shaking your head as she leaned in closer, her face mere inches from yours. Her breath was warm against your skin, her lips hovering tantalizingly close.
Y/N: softly "iam saying this again that You're impossible, you know that?"
Nayeon: whispering "And you love it."
Before you could respond, her lips brushed against yours, soft and deliberate. The kiss was slow, almost teasing, as if she wanted to savor every second. Your hand found its way to her cheek, holding her in place as you deepened the kiss, feeling the way she smiled against your lips.
When she finally pulled away, her cheeks were flushed, her eyes sparkling with a mix of affection and mischief.
Nayeon: playfully "See? I am irresistible."
You laughed, pulling her back into your arms as she rested her head on your shoulder.
Y/N: "You're also incredibly modest, aren't you?"
Nayeon: grinning "It's one of my many charms."
As the rain continued to pour outside, you felt her arms tighten around you, her warmth spreading through every inch of you.
Nayeon: softly "I don't think I've ever been this happy before."
You pressed another kiss to the top of her head, your voice low and sincere.
Y/N: "Me neither."
She tilted her head up to meet your gaze, her lips brushing against yours once more in a kiss that felt like both a promise and a confession.
When she pulled back, her voice was barely above a whisper.
Nayeon: "Stay like this with me. Forever."
Your hand cupped her cheek, your thumb brushing gently against her skin.
Y/N: "Forever, Nayeon."
As she snuggled back into your chest, the sound of the rain became the perfect backdrop to the warmth you shared. And in that moment, with her in your arms, you knew there was nowhere else you'd rather be.
Y/N: playfully "My Dumb Bunny.."
Nayeon look at me in a mock hurt expression before laughing.
Nayeon: "Yah-! Iam not dumb, pabo. Iam smart, cute and sexy"
You chuckle at her self assured word before snuggling close to her.
Nayeon: "That's more like it, boyfie"

And here I thought Aegon makes his wive sit on the throne so he can sit on her lap :D
Okay so I know this ask was just meant to be a joke but it kinda send me on a spiral and now I have too many thoughts about all the different ways the characters would a share thrown with you/hold court with you. And since this anon caused this, I’m gonna use them to share my thoughts because if I have to deal with it then so do you lads.
AEGON:
So as I mentioned in the ask that sparked all of this, I think Aegon would enjoy sitting on the stairs below the thrown and letting you sit on the thrown. He especially loves it because he can look up at you. This tends to be what he chooses when he wants you to do the heavy lifting? If he’s is not feeling up to it or if he knows there’s a matter he doesn’t quite understand enough he’ll sit on the sit on the stairs and then defer to you when he gets stuck.
Also he’s absolutely a fan of sitting on your lap. This is the one he goes for when he’s feeling perfectly fine and just wants to be close to you. He’ll especially choose this when you’ve been away for a while? He’s extremely clingy if he has to go more than a few hours without you and so when you return he will be attached to your side for the next few days.
AEMOND:
Aemond is another who will absolutely refuse to let you sit on a smaller thrown or chair next to the thrown. He sees that as extremely disrespectful to you. You are his wife!!!
(Along the same line, he gets rid of the consort title. He will not allow you to just be for show and have no actual recognised power. You are equal, and he’s not afraid to cut someone down for calling you queen consort and not just queen)
I think Aemond’s absolute favourite might be you sitting on his lap? Doesn’t matter how heavy you are, he will not allow you to try and hover or keep your weight of him, absolutely not. He’ll literally just grab you by the waist and pull you back. He loves that position so so much, with you either perched on his knee or laying across his lap. He always keeps a hand around your waist and whenever he wants your opinion on someone he’ll rest his head on your shoulder or nuzzle his cheek against yours.
Because of him getting rid of the consort title, you will sometimes hold court without him? He’s beyond happy with this, because he trusts your judgement implicitly and honestly if he has to listen to commoners and lords asks things of him for hours every day he might just burn down the entire fucking kingdom.
Anyway, so quite down you’ll end up in a situation where you’re holding court and Aemond joins halfway through?? He’ll just causally walk through the doors and across the thrown room to where you sit. He doesn’t even allow the guards to announce his arrival. He doesn’t want all that attention, his wife is the one holding court not him.
He’ll walk across the room and up the stairs to the thrown, and then instead of asking you to stand up he’ll just sit on the arm of the thrown? He rests his arm over the back of the thrown and you wrap an arm around his waist to steady him. He just sits there, doesn’t make any comment unless you ask him directly. If someone tries to address him he just goes, "Speak to my queen, I'm not here to answer today"
JACE:
So I definitely think Jace's initial plan would be to get a second thrown of some kind built. Obviously it can't be a replica of the actual iron thrown, but he'd want you to have your own space.
While plans are beginning to be formed around getting a new thrown to put next to the iron throne, Jace obviously continues to rule and he refuses to have you stand in the corner or with the ladies of the court.
He calls you over and you stand next to the thrown. You end up standing at his side, and Jace finds that he really likes you standing over him? At some point you sit on the arm of the iron thrown and Jace immediately wraps his arm around your waist to ensure you stay balanced. That ends up being the way you most often sit, and Jace loves it.
I think Jace especially loves it because of how easily he can have a whispered conversation with you? He just tilts his head up and you look down and then you're close enough to speak very very softly. In fact sometimes Jace will even put his hand up in front of your faces to that the others in the court can't even see his lips move.
POLY!DAEMON AND RHAENYRA:
(This idea is absolutely perfect for this poly ship and I really want to write more about them so I'm gonna do that here)
Things are obviously even more complicated here with there being three of you. At first you don't even consider being anywhere near the iron thrown. Daemon and Rhaenyra are married, they are the actual rulers of the kingdom. Sure you warm their bed but you don't even consider that this position could give you some power. You're happy for it to be a secret, or at the very least for it to not be advertised.
Meanwhile, neither Daemon nor Rhaenyra consider the option that you won't have some sort of special place in the thrown room. So I think it would work like this: it takes YEARS for the relationship between the three of you to form, with Daemon and Rhaenyra spending many nights talking about you and sharing frustrations over how badly they wish they could just straight up ask to court or marry you, and by the time the relationship actually forms Rhaenyra has already been crowned queen. There's a few weeks of the three of you sleeping together and hiding the relationship. Eventually the three of you admit that you all want it to always be the three of you, and you officially join the relationship.
After this happens, they announce it to everyone and while of course people are sceptic, they know better than to talk bad about you when both of your partners have dragons.
The first time Rhaenyra holds court after you make it official, you enter the thrown room with Daemon, the two of you walking behind Rhaenyra. Daemon walks up the thrown with Rhaenyra and sitting down on his chair next to the thrown. Both him and Rhaenyra immediately look around to see where you have gone. Rhaenyra spots you first, and frowns when she sees you're standing with the ladies of the court.
"What are you doing there?" she asks, confused. Before you can respond, Daemon is already up and walking to you. He takes your hand and brings you up the stairs. You try to say it's not necessary, but neither of them will hear it.
At first you end up sitting on the chair Daemon usually used and while he sat perched on the arm of Rhaenyra's thrown. This works well, until someone asks something that Rhaenyra wants your thoughts on. When daemon realises this, he jumps up and tells you to swop places with him.
Eventually three of you reach a pretty good arrangement of you and Daemon sitting on the arms of the iron thrown and Rhaenyra sitting on the actual thrown. Occasionally one of you will sit on the stairs below Rhaenyra but mostly it's both of you on the arms.
It's worth noting that Rhaenyre is absolutely DELIGHTED with this arrangement and regularly pulls one of you down by your chin for a kiss.

While you were both dancing around... whatever kind of relationship you have, you had become intimately familiar with the fact that Wriothesley loved to call you terms of endearment. From anyone else, you'd gag and cringe at the cheesiness of the pet names, but somehow Wriothesley just made them work. Even some of the most cliche ones ever— My Heart. Love. Amour.
You had just been getting used to it, had just been getting used to fighting down the unbidden curl of your lips whenever he calls you by these names, when he decided to change things up a little.
"Hey, mon cœur, come take a look at this for a sec," Wriothesley says easily, barely even looking up from the newspaper in his hand. You, however, stop in your tracks.
Mon cœur. My love. Mine.
You're not entirely sure when Wriothesley started adding 'my' to the beginning of each of his cheesy little pet names, but you can't deny that every time you hear it, it sends you into a flustered little tizzy. You try to beat back the flutter of the butterflies in your stomach, try to fight down the heat that finds itself at your neck and the tips of your ears. Goodness, you have to will yourself not to hide your face in your hands, if only because that would make your predicament that much more obvious to him.
You nearly jump out of your skin when the very object of your embarrassment stands before you, his hand light on your shoulder. His brows are furrowed in concern, the back of his hand already raised to your forehead in a soft touch as if to check for a fever.
"Are you alright?" he asks, other arm holding you steady. You need the support, but not for the reasons he might think.
“Yeah— yeah,” you say, trying to shake yourself out of it. Trying to banish the thought of him calling you my love for the sake of your own sanity. “Yeah, I’m fine, no need to worry.”
“You sure? You’ve been kind of out of it recently.”
You gulp, gaze unsubtly trying to drift away. For a second you debate between being honest and merely shelving the topic for another time, but... something about his concern makes you want to dissuade his worries, even at the cost of your own pride.
Painstakingly, you try to clear your throat. “Yeah, I just…the… the pet names, they…”
Wriothesley raises a brow, blinking for just a second before a smug, pleased little grin finds its way onto his lips. “Oh? You mean, the little additions I added to them?” And when you only nod once, unable to look him in the eye despite how physically close you both are, his grin widens.
For the sake of your dignity, your racing heart and the steady heat crawling up your face, you wish that he’d give the teasing a break, but instead Wriothesley comes closer half a step, wraps both arms around you and leans down close enough that you can see the way the blue in his eyes shifts with the light.
“Does it get you all flustered when I call you mine, mon cœur?” He practically purrs, just to prove a point. It makes you swallow heavily, makes you want to smack him out of sheer embarrassment.
You do, in fact, try to slap him on the chest but he just laughs like it was nothing— curse him and his muscles.
But he manages to catch your hand by the wrist before you can draw it back, placing a sweet kiss on the back of your hand, and you come undone.
He holds your hand tenderly, his arm still wrapped around you, keeping you cradled against his chest
"You know," Wriothesley admits softly, leaning close and keeping his voice low, like it's a secret he wants to share only with you. His smile is boyish. Cute. Filled to the brim with affection and honey. "I'm actually really happy that you like it, because I really like thinking that I'm yours, too."
