they are not that fleshed out what you're interested in is just headcanon projections on fascists you're playing dolls with because they're empty enough to project all that on and the tragic character you're looking for is Ulysses but you prefer to project all of his lore and personality characteristics onto Vulpes Inculta for sooooome reason... I fucking hate you people
"It's just such an interesting-"
#why are vulpes inculta fans always following me and then following me again after i just softblocked them#on browser desktop and from this blog's specific settings and everything#now i just leave the page open in my broswer and commit to just blocking#instead of softblocking because the refollowing hours or minutes later is... huh#and so many of you don't even really at all understand your fav faction you just want#to fuck yassified versions of them and are pretending so weirdly to be big brains#deep about it but just making everything up as you go so far from canon you should just make an OC faction#and many of the legion fans that do understand them are like... yeah. not even cryptic really.#i am constantly refraining from posting actual analysis on the legion because of this fanon shit just being too annoying#can i be a bitch for a minute#like 2 or 3 legion bloggers have good takes i really like but have the other problems wrong with them somehow#in such a way i don't even know how it happens to them it's like an infectious parasite atp#it's actually so fucked that so many of you meatride those white slaver fascists#Ulysses is right there.#i at least know i'm projecting on boone#i'm not hearing you out on your headcanons for how misogyny is gay#no making fascists into trans people of color doesn't make cool representation#you just made a fascist into a trans person of color who does fascism or if#they don't anymore that's just a whole OC a whole new character you can play with#but white legion fans most of all fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you#hate it here#get out of my room

Queer Madrigals
I'm about to post a couple future!fic for Encanto, so I figured I'd take a minute to talk about my headcanons when it comes to their genders/sexualities.
The Obvious: I've posted somewhat in depth about what I think Bruno and Isabela's individual deals are, so I'm not going to really talk about it here, but yeah. Using the labels I am familiar with, I assume Bruno is demi, bi, and nonbinary, and that Isabela is a lesbian who ends up marrying a trans woman.
The Married: I mean, we can sit here all day and speculate, but the only real headcanons I got are that Juli is demi and Pepa has made out with more women than Bruno.
Mirabel: I've mentioned this, but I didn't really talk about it. Due to heteronormativity I suspect it wouldn't occur to Mirabel to question her sexuality until later in life when the Pride movement starts up. I think she's bi, possibly also demi, but most definitely not very focused on her love life (another reason why she doesn't think too hard about her sexuality). She's got shit to do and if somebody wants to date her they better speak up about it because she's got too many projects going on right now to bother with mind games. Mirabel ends up with a man mostly by coincidence, I saw somebody do the numbers and its just statistically more likely that a bi person will end up with somebody of the opposite sex (the math didn't factor for gender). I try to keep all of my headcanons grounded to peoples lived experiences, and this felt historically accurate.
Luisa: I think that if Luisa were a tumblrina she would end up being CIS+, but would have to go through the journey of exploring her gender due to societal biases. In the context of 1950's Colombia, she spends her youth hearing abuelas and tias talking about how she needs to be more feminine if she wants a husband, and struggles with that for a while. Luisa sings "I glow because I know what my worth is" and that's the sort of thing somebody says when they're on the other side of some serious self doubt, so I do think she had to deal with a bit of misogyny and body image issues. The thing is, Luisa likes the way she looks, and she's proud of what a hard worker she is, but she also wears ribbons in her hair and skirts instead of pants to work in. Furthermore, I suspect every bi person in the village, male or female, has a huge fucking crush on her because if she was a modern tumblrina people would be responding to pictures of her with that "not to be a lesbian but oh my god" stuff. I headcanon her as being technically cishet, but culturally gay due to people being people about the whole Woman with Biceps thing, if that makes sense. Once she starts allowing herself some free time, she dates every bi man in the village.
Dolores: Morosexual. No offense Mariano.
Camilo: You know how gender is a product of your culture and different societies throughout history have had different ideas of how many genders there are and what it means to be a man or woman? I think being able to turn into a woman at will would have an effect on Camilo's relationship with his gender. Like, I don't know if he would be full nonbinary, because I have never met a shapeshifter and asked them how they feel about gender, but I can't imagine he sees gender as a rigid binary. Like I said, I try to stay grounded in my headcanons, and I have zero idea what the lived experience of a shapeshifter is, soooooo...?
Antonio: I have spent a long time weighing the options here, his association with animals makes me think he would be the least traditional Madrigal, so I would like to think he'd end up in the least conventional relationship. I posted a list of headcanons where I floated the idea of him being poly, but I like the idea of him being aroace better. I stand by the rest of it, though. He marries a lesbian, let's her girlfriend move in with them, and he's just kinda there. Like, the women consider themselves married to each other and he's just some guy who talks to birds. They're his best friends and thinks he's pretty great but the only time he has sex is when him and the wives want kids, and other than that he's just vibing. I arrived at this headcanon because I love the idea of him being sorta a reverse Bruno. Like, people think he has two wives so everybody assumes he's this total lady killer, they sing songs about how charming he is, rumors abound that he can make a girl swoon with a single smile, then you talk to him and he's just some guy. Occasionally, a woman will throw herself at him and he's like "No thanks" then starts having a conversation with her cat. Do you see my vision? Anyone? I don't care if nobody else thinks it's funny, because I'm giggling at my computer.

There's this thing that fandom does that's getting weird (and please, tell me if I'm wrong cause I don't want to be hurtful here). It seems whenever a black woman is on screen, there are way more transfemale headcanons than for a white woman. Or an Asian woman. Black transwomen are awesome but when a character hasn't had their gender delved into in the show, the readiness to pin trans seems like they're saying she looks similar to a man. You can ignore this if you don't want to respond.
No. I HAVE noticed this too. I mean...black men *can* be treated better by fandom, I think because they are men. It would be really interesting to study misogyny in fandom, because as I’ve said, sometimes even white women get hated for weird reasons. I see fandom as a way to play in your imagination with intriguing characters, but how you prefer to play can be revealing. I think most shipping, for example is just like an extension of liking the characters and their dynamic. You like their interaction or would like their interaction so you push it to an extreme. That’s where poly-ships especially come from. To me, that’s like the highest sign that a media property has succeeded in writing group chemistry, when you see a LOT of poly-shipping. I also think m/m is *safer* in shipping (at least when straight girls do it) because you can imagine these men in a female gazey space totally devoid of another woman. I think, that’s also why reader x hot himbo fics have gotten popular lately too. So yeah... I mean, I remember when ol girl broke her retainer at the hotness of Killmonger. So, I think black men are a bit more accessible for fandom desire-wise, than black women... and so it can seem more convienient to simply headcanon her as someone more personally desirable to the fan....A tangent, but there’s a really good socialogical writing about black boys doing better in white schools (as in less marginalized, especially if good at sports) than black girls do. All that said, black men are still marginalized. I mean, I have pushed my glasses firmly up my nose in anticipation of all the heavy shipping of Ikaris/Black Knight, instead of the canon gay couple these disingenous fans have been calling for from Disney *right there* of Phastos and his husband in Eternals.... because they’re not cis white men. I’ll call it right now, that fanworks will be in greater quantity for Ikaris/Black Knight... And if they are, I don’t ever want to hear another fan talk about Disney being too scared to make their white m/m ship canon... Anyway, all this to say... yeah I think you’re onto something nonny. If a character isn’t accessible (emotionally/empathy-wise) just as she is as a black woman it would make sense to headcanon her in a way that brings her closer to that. I think that’s also where the ace, and lesbian headcanons come from also, to a degree. It also conveiniently puts her out of the way of the cis white often m/m ships.

heheh of cOURSE I'm asking 002 for nymohadora tonks😍💖💖💖😂with that beautiful username change of yours!!!!!
AAAA i’m finally making my 15 year-old self’s dream come true and unashamedly becoming nympahdora tonks in my spare time 😂
002 | Give me a character & I will tell you
• How I feel about this character:
As you can probably tell, she’s my favourite. 😍 I mean, I love Remus Lupin and I will protect him with all I’ve got, but Tonks is my main girl and it’s time I’ve let the world know all about it! haha
• All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Mainly Fleur and Remus! But, as I said when I talked about Fleur, I don’t think those are necessarily mutually exclusive. I think there are multiple possibilities and I truly believe people can love more than one person at a time, and that sometimes monogamy and a bourgeois family unit are not the way to go to make someone truly happy.
• My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Tonks and Charlie are my friendship OTP! My headcanon is that they were friends at Hogwarts and had a great time taunting one another over their House’s Quidditch matches. In the best “queers band up together” spirit, I think they would have had some experiences to share since I see both their mums as fairly conservative in their own ways, too.
• My unpopular opinion about this character:
Where do I begin? 😂 I disagree with a lot of people in the fandom, especially other fellow Wolfstar shippers, about a great load of things when it comes to Tonks and Remadora. I don’t see her as a manipulative person who “forced Remus into a relationship he didn’t want to be in”, as I’ve seen people put it before, and I think that there’s a misogynistic and a biphobic tone to that interpretation of her character.
It’s also unfair to Remus to assume that he could be conned into a relationship because she was shown as the one who pursued him (and because of that scene in HBP where they argue about it in front of Molly), or that she “hooked him by getting pregnant” (!!!!). The way I see their relationship, Tonks saw through Remus’ deep insecurities and self-loathing and called him out on his bullshit. The “too old, too poor, too dangerous” speech is the essence of his character to me. He really thinks he’s not good enough for her, and that he would be harming Tonks by being in a relationship with her, as much as he wanted it. This only gets confirmed later on in DH when Harry calls him out for wanting to ditch his wife and unborn child to go on a mission. To me, that is Remus trying to cover his urge to punish himself for having gotten something he wanted and didn’t think he deserved by denying himself love and a family. It’s almost a suicidal move (no one can convince me he wouldn’t be out there jumping in front of hexes if he had gone out to fight with the trio), and I don’t think he was thinking clearly/coldly when he decided to leave.
I mean, no one concludes that Sirius is deep down a murderer who was just dying to go out there and off Peter when he went after him and ended up getting all those Muggles killed (even if he wasn’t the one who exploded them) – which was a very bad decision he made while highly emotional and, arguably, out of his mind. So why would a big chunk of the fandom collectively decide that Remus didn’t love Tonks and was just dying to break free of that “forced relationship” when he’s the one to make a decision out of fear, anguish and guilt that stems from his own self-hate? (Misogyny, that’s why.)
• One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
I really fucking wish she would have lived. There was no good narrative reason for her to die, only shock value, and honestly fuck that.
• my OTP
This one is hard! I do think that Remadora had great potential. I truly think that they could have worked through their issues with time and therapy (which I can dream about because everyone deserves time and therapy to help them have a better life) because I think she would have brought out the best in him. Tonks is a bright, clever, skilled and overall badass person. She’s also kind and loving (hello, Hufflepuff) and FUN and Remus is a Marauder, ffs! I can see him slowly learning that he deserves to be loved, and feeling freer and freer to be himself around her. They could have been so happy together, and having them both die in the end was shit. I’m still bitter about that.
BUT here’s the catch: no woman has to stick with a man while he takes his (well deserved) time to work through his issues. Tonks doesn’t have to be his Manic Pixie Dream Chick and lovingly guide him to a land of stable mental health where he can be the partner she deserves.
And that’s where Flonks comes into the picture. Fleur may have her issues (like every human being on the planet does), but they wouldn’t get in the way of them making each other happy. I think they are both awesome witches (brave and bright and talented) and they would make a great Auror & Curse Breaker team. They could build each other up and have an amazing life filled with love and gay things and I would absolutely love that.
• a headcanon fact:
Throughout the years, the idea of Tonks being non-binary has grown on me. With the ability to morph your body, having to stick to what society expects from a female or a male body to look like and what that means to your own gender identity doesn’t seem like something Tonks would ignore, to me. As someone who’s seen rebelling against what’s expected from her (which, in canon, sounds a lot like “Not Like Other Girls Syndrom”, but I digress), I can see it as something she would want to explore about herself.
Still, I think I still would have a lot more to learn before I could write a story that featured this headcanon. As a cis person, I believe I’m at a point where I still need to hear a lot more, rather than speak myself when it comes about gender non-conforming.
Oh, and by the way, I was gifted a Flonks fic that features NB Tonks this year for Femme Fest and I really loved what Isa did with the headcanon. It was so meaningful for the story and it also shook me a bit out of my comfort zone in the best of ways. I really really recommend it!
