worst day of recent weeks turned into the best day of recent weeks because i received one of my KCD commissions back today and y'all..... Y'ALL..... please open it up for the Details because wow

i cried a little when i received this from Cordi because after such a shit fucking night and a mid day, this just meant the absolute world to me. i've never commissioned art of Myself before, only of OC's and pre-existing characters, so to see myself look content, pretty, and having a good old yap session with two of my favourite fictional boys is just incredibly special to me. (thank you so much @boodarko!!) beyond chuffed that the background is also My Picture that i took in game (yes that's Rattay!) because now whenever i go to that spot to relax i'll be thinking of this artwork and god that just makes me happy. might write a drabble surrounding this moment, for my own personal indulgence. cropped details that i love under the cut!

i specifically gave Cordi free reign on things like my dress, which is one i love, (i gave a bunch of references to choose from) and Henry's hood (love the dark colours on him, i know it's from the second game but honestly, fashion), but otherwise i was actually quite specific with things like armour and character placement! i specified local flowers (see if you can identify them 👀) for the ground and the crowns, as well as the decorated riding boots (my faves) for Hal and the use of Hans' second game hood rather than his first game one (again, fashion). i really wanted Pebbles and Mutt to be a part of it too so they're just having a lovely time at the water, and of course, Hans' bow and Henry's sword are next to each other - i specifically asked for the St. Michael's sword design as that's my favoured weapon in game thus far! this scene is so warm and soothing and i'm just over the moon with it all 😭🫶 please commission artists, not AI, because a computer could NEVER manage this in such detail, care, love and warmth.

where do i even start??? @boodarko fucking gets me when i asked for "sad queer lesbian yearning" on this one because wow, we're definitely secretly saying farewell before i set off after Henry and Hans to save their stupid asses from some mistake trip or another but Theresa does NOT want me to run into danger and good god.... no one can know.... the sadness and sheer "please don't go where i can't follow" vibe is immaculate and also heartbreaking. as far as i'm concerned, romancing Theresa isn't for Henry, it's for Me and this encapsulates everything i feel about her and also the nuances of female relationships of the time. detailed crops and info down under the cut!

i asked Cordi to include my favourite constellations that are visible from the Rattay Mill - Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Draco. the bears especially are important to me, and boy did they deliver! my crown is thorns and thistles, not just as a religious reference but also because thistles are important to me heritage wise (cue the SCOTLAND sound, you know the one), and Theresa has sage falling from her hair onto mine - sage has many meanings but to me this is a representation of her wishing me good health and protection on my journey. the armour is very Joan of Arc inspired, i feel i don't have to elaborate on that too much. we went over a few sword hilt ideas but this one feels the most natural to me, like i could find it in game, and the engraving on the sword reads VIRTUS - LIBERTAS - FATUM (valour, freedom, fate). i interpret this in a few days since all of those words do have at least 3 different yet similar translations, so take from that what you will, but it felt fitting for Myself and Theresa in quite a few days, especially after playing the Woman's Lot DLC. i also love this green dress for Tess, it's the one i gifted her in my game and i get so happy whenever she wears it and thanks Henry for it, it makes her eyes pop 🥺 anyway wow what a beautiful piece of art, i also actually love how i look in this one, Cordi got my nose so right 😭 (plus wow Theresa's boobs look amazing, i'm no better than a man sometimes my bad)
