ah shit here we go again, let's reread Naruto again
reading it in official English translation for the first time and really have no idea if it's good or not lol (I've been translating MHA for 5 years straight and official English translation from the same company fucking sucks)
chapter 1 is huge as hell, which is normal for Shonen Jump, mangaka needs to introduce the concept and characters and all yada yada
what I find really funny about Naruto is a lot of the stuff is written backwards (meaning, we have some stuff introduced early on, but then more shit is slapped on top) to the point that pre-Shippuden things directly contradict what is going to be stated later. Kishimoto most of the time gave approximately zero shit about things outright not making sense and, y'know, you gotta respect him for that, cause I don't have balls like that
(unfortunately when writing anything canon-compliant in Naruto you have be mindful of things being rewritten and outright not making sense💀)
Anyway enough yapping, very first page is already ripe with shit that is going to be retconneced later
Firstly, description of Kurama's abilities. Naruto's orange puppy certainly can not start tsunamis and landslides with just his tails, lmao, this is something closer to Ten-Tails. If the terrain allows it, sure, I can see him starting a landslide, but orange puppy isn't starting anything in the seas, he's got siblings with lesser number of tails for that haha.
Secondly, the entire second paragraph feels like a fever dream honestly. "Suffering people gathered the shinobi clans to fight this menace" = Konoha was founded as a way to stop the endless tiny conflicts between the shinobi clans living in the Land of Fire (why have small-scale conflicts between each other when you can have literal world wars with the guys from beyond the border lol, jk, I know Hashirama wanted a peaceful future for the kids, but ultimately hidden villages system solves none of the issues of the previous system besides "7 year olds die on the battlefields" because now we have "15 year olds die on the battlefields"), Kurama literally wanted nothing to do with humans (as far as we know) during the warring states period, he was literally frolicking in some meadows and eating weird twins from to-be Kumogakure, got captured by Uchiha "read some mossy stone that my clan carried for years for some reason and went totally delulu" Madara, was used to attack Konoha, got bitch slapped by Hashirama a few times before Mito stuffed him into her stomach. And people are surprised why is the orange puppy so evil most of the manga lmao. But anyway, the entire sentence also implies that Fourth Hokage had some sort of mega-epic showdown with the evil puppy... while in reality it was something closer to Konoha's nuke being stolen by a delusional angry fourteen year old and Minato had to simply recapture the nuke again.
anyway, that was a long-ass rant lol
love the early style, it's so goofy, Kakashi is especially wonky in it
first question: why are we tying up school kids after they are caught for their terrible pranks? what is the educational idea behind this thing? like, i get doing that on the training field, imitating combat and all, but why do the same thing in the classroom? is it supposed to encourage the kids to learn how to run away after being tied down by some ropes?
(if that's the case i guess i know at least one academy student who always failed this task, yeah, looking at you, rin, i'm sorry, i can't hold myself back from bashing that thing, lmao)
anyway, back to the manga, i really love how it mentions that Naruto flunked this exam two times already (and it's not stated how often this exam is, so I guess yearly?), and only graduates at like 13, which is supposed to be a super late age and Naruto is such a lazy bum for that... but then you realize the funny fact that Naruto's classmates aka "genius" Sasuke, "book-smart" Sakura, team Asuma and team Kurenai are all the same age as him. Lmao. This isn't the first time Kishi will forget about this silly thing called "timeline".
let's... not adress this gag.
AHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH.
Naruto, allow me to introduce you to this wonderful concept called "nepotism". It's quite common in your village. Second Hokage was First's younger brother, Third Hokage was the student of the Second, Fourth Hokage is the student of a guy who studied under Third, Fifth is literally both the granddaughter of First and a student of Third, Sixth is the student of Fourth and you, Naruto, is the son of Fourth and the student of Sixth.
I absolutely love how early Naruto is trying to be this story about this poor underdog when in reality our MC is the nepobaby to ever napobaby lol. I think only Iwa beats Konoha at having the most absurdly nepotistic system for Kage, because 3 out of 4 Tsuchikage are directly related to each other through blood and the one guy that isn't happens to be the teacher to Third.
(I do remember there was so bullshit about Kazekage clan or something but I think it's pretty much only a title and only Rasa and Gaara are actually related to each other through blood)
>badge of adulthood
>given to literal 9-13 year olds who can't throw a kunai in a straight line
yeah, you know what, this actually checks out.
you immediately know that mizuki is fucking evil when he says "nah let him pass iruka, he managed to produce a single shitty clone, he's totally not gonna be killed after 30 seconds on the battlefield" like WHAT IS THIS SYSTEM OF EDUCATION
also another good question to the world building: does Konoha have other schools besides Academy? Like, what do kids do if they don't want to pursue military career? Their parents hopefully teach them how to read and count and that's it? I mean, Konoha is a military settlement at the end of the day, but they can't be teaching only guys who will be throwing knives at each other?
absolutely nothing, naruto, lmao. you were born a nepobaby, prepare to have an endless supply of chakra for any tricks of yours and the best senseis Konoha has to offer.
is the Hokage building supposed to be their residence as well? huh.
also let's not talk about this gag.

Shugo Chara Jewel Joker Ch. 1 Review
I thought I'd go over my thoughts about the first chapter of the sequel.
So, can we first start off with how gorgeous this chapter cover is? Like I absolutely love how the same art style is still there but it seems more refined and...mature (I don't know how but it just does).
I'll be completely honest that I'm not super thrilled about them adding on another love interest to the sequel. It makes sense, but, not super excited about it. The fact that he already appears to just be a younger version of Ikuto feels a bit lazy on Peach-Pit's end. Sorry if that's offensive but those were just my initial thoughts.
I also really like that it's a sequel directly after the events of Shugo Chara Encore. I think exploring Amu's growth through middle school is such a great concept. The ~ cool and spicy ~ line still makes me smile every time.
It's so good to see Rima, Yaya, and Kairi!! AAAH THEY ARE ALL SO PRECIOUS, especially Rima. I always have adored her.
Also, Kairi and Yaya's dynamic is so cute. I think they balance each other out really well. I know some thought their "pairing", if you can even call it that, in Shugo Chara Encore random, but I think it actually works well. I'd love to see some of the chapters show how Kairi and Yaya are doing taking over the Seiyo Academy Elementary guardians, maybe even see who the new King, Queen, and Joker end up being.
And then there's the adorable prince. I spent so much of middle and high school years going back and forth between him and Ikuto as my favorite. I started off liking Ikuto then went to Tadase then back to Ikuto haha. Now that I am 26 years old, I can acknowledge that the age gap between Amu and Ikuto is definitely valid in people considering it problematic, which I would have adamantly disagreed with at 16. Now that I am a therapist and have seen a lot (to say the least), my opinion has changed. I can't deny the appeal of that relationship in a fictional setting but also can't deny that the age gap is not something that can be overlooked. It would never fly in real life. I'll just leave it at that.
I'm not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed when I first read this about her going to a new school. I was like NOOO I WANT TO SEE AMU WITH THE SAME CHARACTERS AND JUST SEE ALL THE RELATIONSHIPS DEVELOP MORE. Alas, though, I also can agree that the new school and new characters can be great for Amu's growth and journey. Plus, I mean, there's got to be an actual plot lol. So there's that.
I also love how Tsukasa is downplaying all of this. Like it'll actually only take a week or two. Or a semester haha. Also weird how he's just shipping them off with little regard for their actual education or wants. Did Amu's parents actually say yes to this? Haha. It's those little things that I think about that I wonder if anyone else does.
First appearance of the new mysterious cat boy. I wonder if they're making him (at least appearance wise) identical to Ikuto because Peach-Pit realized that Ikuto being with Amu is deemed problematic more so now or if it's just another distraction until Amu ends up with Ikuto ..or Tadase? I honestly have no clue what they'll end up doing. I also just wanted to say that if you all do ship Amuto or Amu with Ikuto, there is no judgment from me. I must acknowledge that it is inappropriate but at the same time, I also know the nostalgia and very cute story they have too. Their relationship is very sweet, but the age gap can't be overlooked. But anyway, still not thrilled about this new guy, sorry.
Oh my gosh look how cute they are!!! Amu's uniform suits her so well, I 100% support her wearing that the rest of the series. Tadase also looks super cute too with that coat. He looks more grown up, aw.
I don't know how all these children get to go to these academies that look more beautiful than some cathedrals. Also can't wait to see how this new cute villain guy contributes to this story. I wonder how he'll differ from the other villains like Nikaidou and Kairi's sister (why can't I remember her name?) or the Easter director guy. I think Nikaidou has been my favorite "villain" so far. I think he was the most developed one.
I like the concept of the X not disappearing and having this cultish academy where everyone already has guardian characters. Where did the X egg go though? Did it just disappear? Am I stupid because I seriously don't know why it's not mentioned after this haha like where did it go? And whose was it? Can't wait to see why all the students are desensitized to this haha.
Possible villain number 2. I like her character design. I kind of like how she's more passive aggressive toward Amu instead of how it was with Rima and Utau where it was full on aggression at the beginning. I don't think we've really seen Amu handle that dynamic and I'm curious how their relationship will develop. It's funny how Amu knows there's something off about her immediately. Amu definitely isn't naive like she can read that the girl doesn't have good intentions pretty quickly.
Okay, this conversation that Amu has with Rima is so cute though. Whether I can fully ship Amuto or not, I have to say Rima giving Amu relationship advice (albeit, not good advice haha) is hilarious and we need to see more of this please.
Gosh I love Amu's different faces. And that's she's a scaredy cat.
Can we just remember -
And many, many more amazing Amu reactions from the anime.
I'll close with, I still don't like new boy but I guess I can't say I permanently think that until he actually gets formally introduced. I hope he's distinctly different from Ikuto or else it just feels kind of pointless having him there.
Welp, that's my commentary! Sorry that was EXTREMELY long. It's also almost midnight where I live, like wow I sure can blab about this manga for a long time. Please comment or like if you at least somewhat enjoyed this little review. Or if you didn't like it. I'm open to suggestions haha, or light-hearted, respectful debates. I'm very new to being back on tumblr so if my formatting is horrendous I'm down for some advice. I also will be posting about the second chapter in the upcoming days so be looking out for that too! Excited to be back on here and see what you all think about the sequel :)

hi! Is it too late to say why and how your writing is special? Because, uh, I LOVE IT SO MUCH. You’re my favorite spn writer. A few others come very close, but you take first place easy. Your fics are consistently delightful. It’s like at the end of each sentence I’m _feeling_ something, and feeling it strongly, something I dont know how to describe. It’s more than angst (I really like angst).
In 2 or 3 sentences, you’ve made me feel like Sam or Dean, you’ve given me an outlook on the whole situation (and it usually hits like a ton of bricks). Seeing you posted a story (like just now) really brightens my day.
To go on a quick tengent about how special your writing is : you have reignited my age-old dream of being a writer myself. I wish I could paint a picture/an emotion as well as you, write reactions and feelings that feel so realistic to the reader. (Simultaneously, I despair of ever being able to use words so beautifully and efficiently, so I keep putting it off).
Anyway, I’m so thankful to have become an spn fan at a moment where I can enjoy your stories!! Thank you so much for sharing your work. All the best ❤️
sorry this took me a while to reply, it was overwhelmingly sweet, haha. I'm glad you like my writing, it always makes me so happy when people describe it as efficient or economical (the 2-3 sentences thing). and it makes me even happier to hear that you want to write!!
you can do it, and you should, if it's something you want to do!! nobody's BORN good at anything, it's all practice. obviously everyone knows that, but I think we forget when it comes to art, like starting and getting better is insurmountable. I've been writing my whole life, and for most of that, I sucked. even if we're just talking about fic, my work got zero play and negative reviews constantly! because I wasn't good! which is fine!! and then I just kept writing, and reading (so important-- real books, not just fic) and learned more about what I want to read and thus what I want to write, and I found a style out of that.
you just gotta start doing it, and it's never too late. everyone is learning forever. my husband makes fun of me for having a bad vocabulary and not knowing the definitions of super simple words (it's true) and I'm constantly editing and re-editing my work because I lean on the same few turns of phrase and the same lazy verbs. it's all just practice. anyway thank you and ganbatte

Digimon Adventure tri. – Chapter 4: Loss | Sorato
My thoughts on everything Sorato in the fourth chapter of tri..
I MADE IT! :D I said I would get this out before Chapter 5 was released . . . and it’ll be out in less than 24 hours. YAY! XD;
Reminder that this post is solely about Sorato -- for my thoughts on “Loss” as a whole, go here.
First, this scene happens when Sora cooks everyone food:
Mimi: "Wow [Sora]! Whoever becomes your husband is lucky!” Sora: *Blushes.*
It works because everyone (us, the audience) knows that Yamato will be that “lucky” husband in the future! I liked it a lot, haha. The only thing that would’ve made it A+ is if the camera had casually panned to Yamato. lol.
Now onto the REAL stuff. While everyone is sleeping, Sora goes off to brood about Piyomon being a giant twat to her, and Yamato and Taichi follow her to find out what’s wrong.
Yamato: “What’s bothering you?” Sora: “Why does it matter?” Yamato: *Does a frustrated hand motion then looks at Taichi to say something.* Taichi: “Uh . . . The food earlier was real good!” Yamato: *Facepalms.* Taichi: “C’mon, what’s wrong?” Sora: “Stupid.” (And then they sit in silence for a bit before Agumon comes down the river.)
So . . . I actually really liked this scene. I liked how it showed their different approaches and dynamics -- and I just liked the fact that it was a really intimate moment between my three favourite characters.
But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t without its flaws. The most glaring, by far, is the fact that Taichi and Yamato are so utterly stupid to not know what is upsetting Sora. It’s not even a characterisation issue or anything like that -- it’s simply a lazy/weak writing issue.
Do you know how easy it would have been for the tri. staff to set this scene up without Taichi and Yamato being completely fucking dense? INCREDIBLY EASY. So easy that it still boggles my mind how they just decided that it would be fine if Piyomon was a raging bitch to Sora -- and Taichi and Yamato somehow managed to miss that (despite both of them having a third eye stalking Sora at all times???). “Loss” is probably the second best tri. film overall, but it’s also the one with the most instances of weak writing. How did they manage to “achieve” that?!
My second issue is that Yamato probably should know how to “handle” Sora at this stage -- he did date her three years ago and the two seem like close friends in tri.. Yamato has always been perceptive and sensitive to others (even if he doesn’t want to admit it), so I think he should’ve known what to do by now.
Here’s the thing: I think Yamato at 11 years old would’ve handled this situation better. I actually think tri. has regressed Yamato a bit -- in that, I think 11-year-old Yamato is more mature than 17-year-old Yamato. Which is just bizarre, but whatever. (And I’m talking about Yamato in all four chapters of tri. out so far.)
But back to the scene. Admittedly, Yamato not handling Sora well here doesn’t bother me that much -- it’s not like it’s dumb writing, like him and Taichi being fucking obtuse and not knowing shit. But it still would’ve been better for Yamato to have known what to do -- because I think Adventure showed us that he would’ve been capable of it. The growth Yamato showed from the beginning to the end of Adventure . . . he totally would’ve been able to. (And let’s forget about these characters for a moment -- the average 17-year-old boy should know what to do tbh.)
But that’s not how it played out -- and that’s fine. I still liked the scene, because their dynamic is actually “right”. Yamato asks Sora what’s wrong with her, she responds as she would, and then Yamato does a frustrated hand movement that frankly gives me life, hahaha. It bothers Yamato so much that Sora is upset and he doesn’t know what to do. I love the subtleties of that moment.
(Just throwing this out there: Maybe Yamato would’ve acted differently with Sora if Taichi hadn’t been there? This is total fanfiction territory, haha. But I’d like to think that was the case: that Yamato would’ve handled the situation better without Taichi around. Again, in no way does tri. imply this to be the case -- but it’s a nice thought, no?)
Then, to break the heaviness of the scene, Agumon comes down the river. This makes Taichi go get him and the two exchange some dialogue, as Yamato’s attention goes to them, but then . . .
Yamato: *Turns his attention back to Sora.* Sora: *Gets up slowly and walks away.* Yamato: “Sora? Sora!” *Turns back to glare at Taichi to motion him to follow and runs after Sora.*
I just think it was nice for the writers to have it be Agumon who goes down the river -- so that Taichi would go get him, leaving Yamato to turn his attention back to Sora before she leaves which, again, let’s Yamato “lead” the chase for Sora. It’s such a small choice to make in the writers’ room -- but that’s the attention to detail writers should make. I have no fucking clue what they were smoking when they decided that the audience were dumb enough to buy that Taichi and Yamato wouldn’t notice Piyomon being a bitch to Sora. Yes, I will never let this ridiculous move go.
When we see the trio again, Yamato and Taichi are still following Sora. She stops walking momentarily and this conversation happens between Taichi and Yamato:
Taichi: “Hey, did I do something wrong?” Yamato: “That never changes with you. Can’t you read the situation?” Taichi: “I don’t know! Do you know what to do in times like this?” Yamato: “. . . Should we ask Takeru?”
This exchange does annoy me a bit, because I don’t think Yamato would ever suggest asking Takeru for advice. Yamato has a lot of pride, so as if he would ever ask his younger brother for advice. It’s not him. But I can give this scene a pass -- because it’s clearly meant to be a “joke” to break the tension of the scene. I just think the tri. writers could’ve come up with a better joke that broke the tension -- you know, one that doesn’t make you question Yamato’s characterisation.
But it’s also very obvious that the writers were making it a throwback to the scene in Adventure where Sora is crying (and Taichi is completely clueless about what to do, whilst Yamato just wants to let her cry) and Takeru manages -- BY SHEER FLUKE -- to make Sora feel better. I get it. I do.
But I just don’t agree with their interpretation of the scene -- because Takeru only managed to make Sora feel better because he was a naive little kid. He’s not some mastermind that knew how to “handle women” (like tri. is seriously pushing throughout the series . . .), but he just happened to be young and innocent enough to say something “kid-dumb” that cheered Sora up. If Yamato and Taichi had approached Sora the exact same way as 8-year-old Takeru? Sora would have still been upset and pushed them away. It only worked for Takeru because of his age -- and not because he’s some girl-whisperer who knew what to do. So while I understand the intention of the throwback, I just don’t agree with it being worked in the way it was.
Anyway, the scene continues with Sora speaking up.
Sora: “I can hear you.” Taichi: “Hey, cheer up.” Sora: “What do you mean? You don’t even know why I’m upset.” Yamato: “Why are you upset?” Sora: “I don’t know myself.” Taichi & Yamato: “What a pain.” Sora: “Well sorry, I’m a big pain!” *Runs off.*
Look, there is a reason that Yamato is my favourite character in Digimon -- and not Taichi, despite him being an A+ hero. (Taichi is my third favourite, but there’s a massive gap between them.) There are differences between Yamato and Taichi that set them apart from each other. One of the many differences is that Yamato has tact -- Taichi does not. Taichi definitely would’ve said “What a pain” about Sora -- but Yamato would not. He just . . . wouldn’t. Yamato only insults someone if he feels attacked or he’s being super emotional about something -- here, he is neither. He just says it . . . because??? (And yes, he is saying it about Sora. Are there people out there who actually think Taichi and Yamato are empathising with Sora about “what a pain” it is for her to not know what’s upsetting her? LMAO.)
(Side note: My biggest issue with Yamato’s characterisation in tri. is that I really think the writers struggle to understand this aspect of Yamato . . . which is why he’s crazy aggressive in Reunion and fits the typical “tsundere” mold more than Yamato ever did in Adventure. I think he’s about 75% in-character in tri., personally. Which isn’t a bad percentage -- but it could still be better.)
Again, I get that this is just the tri. writers cutting corners and wanting to break the tension in the scene with a “joke”. (Haha, so funny.) But just because you understand why the writers did it, doesn’t mean you can’t point it out as weak writing -- because even though this is an incredibly small thing, it also happens to put a little dent in Yamato’s characterisation. (The fact that you never think “Yamato wouldn’t do that” in Adventure, but you think it more often than you should in tri. -- definitely says something.)
(Another side note: How can Sora not know what’s upsetting her? It’s pretty damn obvious!? It’s the forced drama between you and your digimon, girl. Sigh. Again, the writers placing more weight than necessary on “issues” to create “deep, meaningful drama”. And this isn’t just a Chapter 4 problem -- the melodrama can be so overwhelming sometimes throughout tri.. It’s like the writers think melodrama equals “smart, mature writing”. It doesn’t.)
The scene continues.
Taichi: “Hey, chill out!” Sora: “You two sure can’t read the situation! You guys have bad timing and always fight! Everyone only thinks about themselves! They’ve never even thought of what I think! . . . Or how I feel.” *Stops running.* “No one . . . does.” Taichi: “I could never understand how you feel, Sora. You’re always in people’s business, but you solve your own problems and never talk about it. Well, maybe that’s the good part about you though.” *Sora has a flashback to when Piyomon tells her something similar and that Sora’s the #1 person she cares about. Flashback ends and we see that Sora is crying.* Yamato: “Sora . . .?” *Meicoomon comes and disrupts everything.*
Contrary to what Sora says, Yamato should be able to (and can) “read situations”. They even showed us that just moments ago! (And it doesn’t require Yamato to have ESP or some superhuman-level power of insight. It’s not rocket science, folks.) So, yes, tri. is definitely screwing with his characterisation here. And if you don’t think so? You have a really warped perception of his character. I honestly don’t understand people who just accept all of the characterisations in tri. with open arms and use “but they’re so complex!” as an excuse. Seriously? The writers of tri. have shown you just how poorly they can write -- tri. as a whole is average at best (except for Confession . . . best written tri. film by far) -- and you don’t think their characterisations can be a bit off sometimes?
At least Taichi admits that he can’t understand Sora? But this scene also shows that Taichi tries. So there’s that. I did like this bit.
Next, Machinedramon appears and Taichi and Yamato both shout out Sora’s name and dive to protect her. Yay!
The kids then get scattered and separated from each other and blah blah blah. Eventually, Machinedramon (with Gennai) attacks Sora again and she falls to the ground to protect herself and Piyomon.
Piyomon: “Sora . . .” Sora: *Looks up to see the boys in front of her.* “Taichi . . . Yamato . . .” Yamato: “Don’t push yourself.” Taichi: “You OK, Sora?” Sora: “Not exactly . . .”
Presumably Agumon and Gabumon have momentarily stopped Machinedramon for a bit. I like that when the camera zooms out from Sora protecting herself/Piyomon, you can see Yamato standing in front of her, shielding her. Then you get the scene from Sora’s perspective and you can then see Taichi standing/protecting her a bit further back.
Machinedramon and Gennai then appear again to attack (having recovered from Agumon and Gabumon, I guess), and we see Yamato raise his right arm out to protect Sora again. They also give us a second shot of this from further away where they look super tiny. Yay!
(Is this shielding thing their ultimate portrayal of love? Even in the Digimon Adventure tri. Stage Play this past August 2017, they had Yamato shield Sora from Etemon. I’m not complaining, but . . . do something different!?)
The kids run away and somehow end up on a ship. (Sorry, I’m skimming this to all the Sorato-relevant bits . . . I can’t sit through an entire tri. film after my first watch.) We eventually get this scene:
Koushirou: “This won’t last much longer! Sora-san and Mochizuki-san, evacuate to a safer place!” Sora: “But . . .” Yamato: “We’ll be the bait!” *Runs off the ship with Taichi and Hikari following after him.*
Yamato immediately volunteers himself as bait to protect Sora! Yay! Yes, Meiko doesn’t exist, haha. JOKES. :p (I don’t know why Gennai is only after Sora and Meiko? lol. That’s how much the plot of tri. interests me . . ..)
And that’s it in Chapter 4!
Overall, I think Sorato could’ve been handled a lot better than it has been. Missed opportunity, and all that. Don’t get me wrong -- I still like and appreciate everything we got (minus the criticism I have for some choices), but let’s be real here: the tri. writers put fanservice above all else. You’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
Fanservice (and the money-spending that it tries to inspire) is the reason Takari and Koumi have been teased so much in tri. -- those two ships are UNRIVALLED in popularity in Japan. Takari and Koumi have virtually NO COMPETING SHIPS. Like, 90% of the Japanese shipping audience prefers Takari and Koumi to all the other ships that involve those respective characters (Daikari, Mimato, Joumi, etc.). In the meantime, Sorato has Taiora to compete with -- which is why we have all the ambiguity and triangle-baiting.
But I think it would have been better if tri. had put the actual story and characters first -- and just tried to progress the storyline with Sorato still dating in the background. (This, naturally, would advance Sora and Yamato’s characters too.) All the fanservice for Takari and Koumi could have been done for Sorato instead. (If tri. didn’t care so much about what they think would make them the most money . . . which is totally understandable, by the way. I’m not saying that Toei Animation has no business making money, ha.) Heck, that scene between Maki and Daigo in Chapter 4? That super cheesy over-the-top “love” scene? That was too much. Why not tone that scene down by about 9000 and have it happen between Sora and Yamato? (I’m joking.)
But you know what I’m trying to say, right? Tri. could have allotted that 1% of romance in the series to Sorato instead of teasing Takari and Koumi (because they lead nowhere . . .). I have nothing against Takari and Koumi (well, I find Koumi a little annoying now, thanks to tri. . . .), but these are the facts. Toei Animation could have gone with progressing Sorato over shipbaiting Takari and Koumi -- but they chose the latter to make more money (because more fans ship Takari/Koumi). I’m fine with their business choice, but I also think it’s a bit of a shame. Missed opportunity!
I really hope Chapter 5 is good. No more dumb writing, please! I think tri. Hikari is “cute” (I don’t actually like Hikari in Adventure or 02 . . .), but I don’t care at all for Meiko. But we’ll see. I always judge the writing, regardless of whether I like a character or not. So, please! Let’s do this, tri.!
(Maybe I’ll get the Sorato post for Chapter 5 out next week? HAHAHA. Everyone loves a good joke! XD)

Ok now that I know that you're taking smutty requests, what about Peter and the reader being friends for a while but now they're dating, and they have a lot of intimacy, and as I'm a sucker for spanking, whenever the reader turns around he gives some light spanking BUT he ends up doing that in front of May cause our poor boy thinks she wasn't at home
Hi anon! hope you enjoy this one, I’m making both Peter and Reader over the age of 18 in this one, because it is smut. You can imagine them being in college or after high school at this point :) And poor aunt may haha! i sort of changed it a little, so it makes it as she heard what was happening, instead of seeing! hope you like it though!
I also wanted to make sure that Peter kept asking for consent because that is important!! I also think that it would suit his character since he usually is timid, but gets brave when he knows he needs to do something :)
feel free to send in any requests you guys would like to see! Part 2
Masterlist
Peter Parker x Reader (Smut/Fluff!) Warnings: spanking, use of belt, switch!Peter, oral (female receiving), and interruption (please Do NOT Read if you are uncomfortable with the warnings) Word Count: 1.6k
Peter pushed you back on the bed, tugging his t-shirt off fast. You smiled to him, as you tore of your shoes and tossed them to the over side of the room, and then slid your pants off, laughing at the two of you speeding at the action. Peter grinned back over to you, sliding onto the bed, “I love you so much” He mumbled making you smile and lean into his body, kissing his neck.
You pulled away for a quick second, “When’s Aunt May getting back?” Your question left Peter confused, as he remembered hearing this morning that she might not be going into work. But he just figured that she went into work since he didn’t hear her in the apartment or see her car out front. “Not sure, she’s not here though.” He replied, tugging onto your shirt to lift it off.
You nodded back to his response and lifted your arms up for him. Once your shirt was off, Peter blushed harshly looking down at you. You laughed at his red face, and quickly tugged him down on the bed, hovering over him with a smirk on your face. “Love you too, babe.” You whisper, before leaning back down over him, with your legs wrapped around his torso.
He leaned up just enough to capture your lips in a deep kiss, making the two of you moan out at the same time. You barely lifted your hips, and grinded down onto his, making him gasp into your mouth, you tugged him closer with that, and pushed your tongue into his mouth softly. You slowly and deeply kissed his mouth more, very sloppy with spit running down both of your faces. You openly smiled against Peter’s mouth as he groaned again when you rolled your hips against his. Peter’s pants were still on, so you tugged on the belt making him laugh into the kiss, leaning away to frantically pull the belt off.
He went to throw it down, off the bed, but you stopped him with another smirk, pushing the belt down next to his head. “Keep it, I want to use it today.” You spoke softly, leaning down on top of him again, and started sucking onto his neck. He flushed harshly at your words, “Okay babe,” He responded, breathing out unsteadily.
You continued to suck, kiss and lick at his neck at random spots as he unzipped his pants with shaky hands, and you moved away to pull them off. As much as Peter loved being on the bottom, he wanted to switch positions with you. So as soon as you pulled his pants down to his ankles, he bounced back up on the bed making you look at him in confusion. He kept his underwear on, as he leaned over your body, unclipping your bra with, “You sure you want to do this today?” Just to make sure that consent was absolutely okay in this. You nodded back a “Yes”, smiling back to him.
He laughed at your expression before pushing you back in his old position, as he tugged the rest of his pants off his ankles. “It’s my turn, babe, hands up.” You sucked in air from his words, raising your eyebrows in surprise but agreeing with him, and pushing your hands up against the bed post. He sat down on your legs, grabbing the belt and tying it against the bed post with your hands. Both of you made sure it was secured and before he continued with any of his actions, he asked you, “Safe word?”
“Doorknob!” You replied with an excited laugh. Peter laughed along with you, but soon quieted down as he pushed his body down between your legs. His hands skimming over your thighs and your underwear making you shiver. He grinned at your reaction, pushing his finger to the top of your underwear, and pulling it back. He let it go with a snap, and you flinched at the tiny little sting from your underwear.
You looked down to Peter, “Please don’t tease me!” You spoke out, hoping he would agree with you. Peter shrugged back, “You’ve been teasing me this whole day, I don’t really know…” He trailed off, thinking of ways to get back at you.
You groaned from sexual frustration and the lack of feeling down where Peter was. “Pete please I promise I won’t tease you again!” You groaned out, making Peter smile back to you. He sighed out against your thigh, making you shiver again.
“Okay, if you promise.” He mumbled back, fingers looping around your underwear with a small grin. He tugged them off slowly, making you groan again. He almost placed his hand down but stopped to look up, “Is this alright?” He asked again, making sure you felt good with this. You responded with a quick yes, smiling down to him, eager for him to touch you.
His fingers began to massage the inside of your thighs, slowly trailing closer to your heat and making you take a deep breath in. With a small action, he slowly ran his fingers over the top of you, and slowly dipped his fingers to catch a bit of the wetness that was gathering up. He looked back up to you with a cheeky smile, as he took his fingers and licked them, making you gasp.
He chuckled lightly from your reaction, and leaned back down, dropping spit onto your wetness and leaning his head in and licking, breathing in deep and sighing out against you. Your gasps and moans started to build up as he started to run his finger down lower to your entrance while his lips found your clit, sucking on it lightly.
“Peter- oh my, don’t stop, please!” You moaned out, bleakly tugging onto the belt with no change, as Peter fastened his pace, now pushing into you with one finger. His suck on your clit began harder and you began to feel like you were going to lose it, as he leaned back again and licked it up, “So good,” He muttered. He added in another finger, pumping them in and out of you and with another suck on your clit, you moaned out loudly, “Oh- Peter, I’m going to-” and Peter stopped.
He leaned back with a lazy grin, “No, you don’t get to until I say.” You gazed back at him, sweating and feeling super-hot, and you groaned out loudly in protest at him, hitting your head as you leaned back on the bed post.
He stood up from the bed, walking to his desk to grab protection and you knew you shouldn’t have but you propped yourself up and rubbed your heat down onto one of his pillows hard, making you come. He watched back in surprise as you fell apart on his pillow, without him. You just had to, you couldn’t take his teasing at all, even though it was so good. Your moans pushed him to frown back to you, “Hey, I said you couldn’t do that.” Peter spoke up, tossing the protection on the bed beside of you.
“Too bad.” You grinned back, knowing he was going to “punish you”. He shook his head at you, “That was really hot though.” He mumbled, sitting back on the bed with a sigh, watching you. You eyed him back in confusion, wondering what he was going to do. He leaned over you to unclamp the belt from your hands attached to the bed post and gestured you to sit up.
“Butt in the air, now.” He spoke with a commanding tone, your eyes widened back in surprise and he coughed, realizing he sounded different. “Sorry, um, please?” He asked again, a lot more politely, making you giggle and obeying him. You pushed your head into the bed, making sure your butt was up at his level.
“Good girl.” He whispered, looking down at your butt. You moaned at the nickname, but it quickly quieted as he placed a hand on one of your cheeks. “Is it okay, babe, if I um, spank you?” He questioned quietly, looking back down to your face in the sheets. You nodded, “Yeah of course, babe I trust you.”
Peter smiled back to you, giving you a quick kiss to your nose and leaned back up to your butt. He ran his fingers in circles on one of your cheeks and leaned his hand back. With a quick slap, you and Peter groaned out at the same time. His spanks never hurt you since he only liked doing it softly, but you enjoyed it.
He spanked you again, blushing hard when he saw his handprint on your cheek. You moaned at the feeling again, wiggling your butt even more in the air, as Peter leaned back again. “Count for me?” He asked, looking back and forth between your face and your butt. You breathed out, “That was two.”
A knock on his bedroom door made you both snap out of it. You quietly gasped, quickly turning around and looking to Peter in shock. “Peter?” Aunt May called out.
You two paused again, before you quickly hid under the blankets as Peter shuffled, grabbing his Spiderman suit, hopefully to convince Aunt May that he just came back from an early shift. He groaned down at his boner, quickly placing the suit over it as he walked over to the door. He opened it just slightly, peeking out to see Aunt May.
“How’s your girlfriend doing? Were you guys- oh!” Aunt May gasped out, realizing she interrupted you two. Peter laughed nervously, “Oh I just got back from a shift.” His words flying by Aunt May’s head as she raised her eyebrows back to him.
“Heard some slaps, thought you guys might have been fighting…But um, I can see that is not the reason. Dinner is going to be ready in thirty minutes though, so get dressed.” She explained, taking a step back with a horrified look on her face. Peter groaned out in embarrassment, closing the door shut after that.
You peeked out from under the blankets, “She heard the spanking?”

Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind (1984)
Prayers and Salutations Cult Members! I am your mysterious minister Reverend Chainsaw and this is another nights revival service at the Cult Film Tent Revival. I bring you a special word tonight. Tonight's word is about a person who roamed the earth, in a time where people were backward and warlike. A leader emerged into a kingdom full of eschatological expectation. This leader came preaching peace, and was killed for the sins of the world, but was resurrected. In that resurrection a new hope was brought to the planet, and true healing through the power of love in the face of violence is made possible. I am talking of course about Princess Nausicaa from the Valley of the Wind.
The Message
Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind is the film that put studio Ghibli and Hayoa Miyazaki on the map. No animated feature this grandiose and epic had been achieved by 1984, as much as Disney may beg to differ. The tale may be simple, and it may feel super 80s to us today, but Nausicaa is a masterpiece, and the fact that Howl's Moving Castle is brought up alongside Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away more often than Nausicaa is a farce and a tragedy.
The film takes place on a fantastic planet that seems to have suffered the ravages of an apocalyptic war. A war that involved gigantic warriors with powers so devastating they about made the entire planet inhospitable if not uninhabitable; save for a few areas. The fall out of this ancient war has left the earth in a state of repair, where the natural processes of a planet healing has creating giant toxic jungles.
Beyond these jungles lie two imperialistic factions, they seem almost to be city-states but it's not terribly clear. The Kingdom of Tolmekia, a militaristic proto-fascist society of almost Spartan sensibilities. Tolmekia is governed by the ambitious and cynical Princess Kushana, But I like to call her Furiosa. Just like Furiosa, Kushana is physically missing parts of herself, a visual metaphor for her metaphysical lacking and the parts of her humanity she has cut away. Kushana's world view is one of fear, a fear that can only be quelled by waging a genocidal campaign against her enemies.
Speaking of enemies, the Athens to Tolmekias Sparta would be the Pejite Kingdom. The Pejites might like to view themselves as simply responding to Tolmekian aggression, but the narrative of the film, and the story told quite visibly on the body of Kushana, is quite different. The Pejites are just as bloodthirsty if not more palettable in their approach, but like the Tolmekians, they believe only their own lives have any value. And thus, in this theatre of war, a Giant Warrior from the ages before is unearthed by the Pejite Kingdom, Stolen by the Tolmekians, before the forces of nature themselves, seem to conspire to drop the Giant Warriors "egg" right into the Valley of the Wind.
The Valley of the Wind is populated like the world of Avatar the Last Airbender, that is mostly of children and the elderly. The people of the Valley have been able to remain untouched by the ravages of war and the toxic jungles of the damaged world primarily due to geographic luck that's explained in minor exposition in the film. They are ruled by a King, and they are all deeply enamored by their beloved Princess Nausicaa.
Nausicaa is a gentle soul. She is kind to animals, she is empathetic, unreasonably patient, and bears pain and grief inflicted on her out of cruelty with a saintly understanding. She really is a thinly veiled Christ figure, scratch that. There is no veil. But she's also my favorite Christ figure. She does not preach a message, as much as she tries to save everyone from their own short sighted goals. She is not perfect, she does lash out and do some fantasy sword fight murder, but she regrets her actions so deeply that it seems to have played a part in motivating her to become even more compassionate and patient with the evils of the world.
Nausicaa discovers yet another plot by the Pejites, who are afraid of the possibility of the Tolmekians awakening the Giant Warrior, to use animal cruelty to enrage a group of almost invincible giant insects known as the Ohm. By luring the Ohm into the Valley of the Wind where the Tolmekians have become an occupying force, they hope to completely wipe out everything that threatens them. The Tolmekians DO awaken the Giant Warrior and pure pandemonium ensues. Nausicaa manages to save the Baby Ohm and calm the rage of the bloodthirsty Ohm swarm, and to defeat the warlike tendencies of both the Pejites and the Tolmekians. All the while fulfilling a prophecy fortold about a messianic savior figure called the Man in Blue.
Now that you have heard the Gospel of Nausicaa, please stand to receive The Benediction.
Best Character: Half a Person
Now that I've spent the better part of this review gushing about our Lord and savior Nausicaa. I have to admit, she's at times a bit too perfect, a bit too saccharin. Even her flaw, or her one weakness and her failing to be perfect, just adds to the perfection. I can't even say she never makes mistakes cuz she made one, and that's infuriating. It's even more infuriating that I still think she's a great character. Normally this kind of thing really kills a hero. Most Chosen Ones are the most boring and least likeable characters in their narratives. I don't know how Nausicaa avoids this trap, but she does. I'll have to do some meditating on that.
However, just like in your typical Chosen One fantasy narrative, the hero is a lot less fun than the villain. I'm going to say the best character in Nausicaa is Kushana. I want to be like Nausicaa, but I don't understand her. She's almost alien, even though we learn all about her. Kushana is mysterious, secretive, and enigmatic, yet I understand her. She barely has an arc, she doesn't really change. She's cold and cynical to the bone, but I don't need to see much of her situation to completely understand why she is the way she is. I usually hate totalitarian bad guys, but Kushana I like. Sue Me.
Also fun fact, did you that Nausicaa means 'Sinker of Ships'. That's kinda fun.
Best Scene: Spoiled for Choice
I'm going to be lazy and say take your pick. There is really not a bad seen in this movie. If the action isn't going, then there's intriguing dialogue. If there's no dialogue then you may be about to get hit with a forceful burst of whimsy. There's horror, there's swordfights and aerial dogfights. The only thing in Nausicaa I don't like to see, is the bloody tortured Ohm Baby. It's like a god damned Sarah Mclachlan commercial.
Best Creature: Foxy Shazam!
The Ohm are so simplistic yet so detailed. The number of eyes is alien, but the way they are used is expertly expressive. Who'd think you could get me to love what basically amounts to a silverfish with the intensity that I love a kitten. How did Miyazaki pull an Okja with a creature that should be haunting our dreams? I don't know.
And what about the Giant Warrior! If you are an Evangelion fan then you probably already know that Hideaki Anno designed and animated the melting goopy biomechanical beast. Surely a sight that would make both H.R. Giger and Clive Barker giddy with excitement. Just the image of the silhouettes marching amidst the desolation of the old world is burned into my brain.
So which of these is the best creature from Ghibli's first outing? It's fucking Teto. It was always gonna be Teto you idiot. Just look at Teto, he's adorable. He's too cute to exist. I'm so alone. I need a pet.
Best Character Design: Tolmekian Regalia
I originally included this category to talk some about Kushana, however, at that time I also thought I was going to say Nausicaa was the best character. I thought hard about deleting it, but I think it's a different category and you can't accuse me of playing favorites because my favorite character is clearly Teto. Just to keep it simple. It's the two costume shift from full military regalia in white and gold, to the one metal arm, warrior princess get up. It's a great costume and a great look. Get on this shit cosplay nerds. It's great for Cons in Canada, you have to think about layers, and you can't keep going as Mr. Plow. It's lazy.
Best Excuse to Talk About Patrick Stewart's Character: Lord Yupa
I just realized that I was about to write this whole review without talking about Lord Yupa. Lord Yupa is a sword saint and all around badass I think a lot of entertainment, especially in the west is lacking bad ass old men. Lord Yupa particularly shines in the early half of the film as a warrior and as a wise council to Nausicaa. If she's Jesus then Yupa is John the Baptist. He is also voiced by the elegant and eloquent Patrick Stewart. He also comes with 2 chocobos!
Worst Character: For Whom Asbel Tolls
This might also be the worst actor category as well. Actual Cannibal (haha meme) and actual monster (haha real life) Shia Labeouf doesn't so much act in the role as he read the lines and it was recorded. The good news it doesn't effect the film too much because Asbel is completely forgettable. He is a catalyst to some of the action, but besides that I don't really care for him.
Worst Aspect: To Be Fair ...
It would be unfair to completely ignore anything negative about Nausicaa. I have already mentioned in many places that there are some pretty corny, or pretty predictable tropes to this movie. But what I can't capture in words is exactly why it feels fresh when it's done in this movie. I suppose that's what makes it good. It's just so good that it's weak points are lifted up by it's strengths. Some people may bored of Nausicaa's unyielding goodness, or that she very rarely chooses to take action as much as she chases and pleads with her surroundings, but I mean, she does pay for that eventually. It's a fantasy story and it hits a lot of timeless themes that have been hit in stories for as long as human beings have been telling stories. Some people may feel that it doesn't do enough to stand out.
Summary
I have defined the S tier for myself as "near perfect and personal favorite" films. I like to think that Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind is near perfect. Some may say that it looks like it might just be a personal favorite. In the case of Nausicaa, I'm having a very hard time telling the difference. I think it would be overly simple to claim that Nausicaa is just an ancient archetypal heroes journey with an 80s anime coat of paint. I think it's doing quite a few new and interesting things with that formula, those things are just playing out all around that narrative as opposed to being at it's center. For a first full length outing by the studio, you can really see Miyazaki's heart and the values he holds close to. I'll repeat myself so that we are completely clear on the matter. I think Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind is a near perfect movie.
Overall Grade: S

Hi! I don't know if you've ever answered this but I'm really curious to know as to why you've chosen Ranpo? I mean why do you like him in particular? Oh and what do you think about Mori? And who are your top 3 characters from BSD (like Dada material characters)? I've got so many questions🖤🖤🖤
Haha it's absolutely fine, anon~ I would love to answer all the questions that you have for me (●ˊᵕˋ●)
Warning: I'll be taking about some sensitive or possibly triggering topics on my answer about Mori (on item number 2). Please skip it and prioritize your mental health first 🤗
I've actually talked more in depth about this in the Q & A, but what I like about dada in particular is that he's not an ability user. I find it extremely attractive (and super hot) to see a "normal" man keeping up with the finest ability users out there. I also like the complexity of his character. I'd love to expound on this so if you'd like, I can make a whole post for it haha bcos really I have so much to say. As to why he's my "dada", basically, I just can see him as a dom haha in my own opinion of him, I think he likes to be the one who have the say on things. Of course, not to the point of being overly controlling, but more of liking the feeling of being "the man" haha. I mean, even Fukuzawa- the only person he have so much respect for- can't even order him around sometimes. He doesn't like to be looked down upon on or to be treated like he's an ignorant child, he's just lazy about the things he deemed unimportant. He likes to be praised and be viewed in high regards, so I think he'll appreciate someone who is a sub bcos subs do just that with their doms. I also think that he acts all childish but when with someone who is a bit more childish or innocent than him (for example, Kenji and Kyoka), he is very willing to act more responsibly. He doesn't mind explaining to Kenji the details of something he doesn't understand, or to instruct Kyoka how you eat a certain candy– even if he ended up eating it himself haha like, imagine this. Me, a sub, telling him: "Can you pls teach me how to open a ramune?" He will smile proudly and reply, "Of course, I can! I'm the best there is. You can't do anything without my help, don't you? Come here, I'll show you." — that'll be very dom of him haha he's very capable of being in charge if he wants to and idk I just don't think he's more into submitting. I think maybe bcos of his underlying insecurity, he would like to have that constant affirmation that he's the best and he's at the top of everything. Combine that with his playfulness, you get the best kind of a daddy– dominating but still fun. So yeah hehe I hope I made any sense 😅
Ooh, Mori. I have a lot of thoughts about Mori haha but to put it simply, I feel nothing towards him. I don't like him nor do I hate him. I'm truly indifferent towards him. The only time that I thought about Mori for a long time was when one night, I sat up on my bed thinking if Mori touches Elise (in a you-know-what way) or if he can even touch her at all. I looked it up and found a post explaining that the protagonist in Vita Sexualis expressed how he think he's asexual. This is the post and they also made some good points about Mori so pls check it out. So it made me wonder, if this is where Mori's ability is derived from, does he feels sexual attraction to Elise or just plain attraction? Because if we are going to go with the notion that he feels no need for sexual gratification, then we can say that he's only attracted to Elise. But why? The thought I came up with is maybe his attraction isn't really about age– bcos his attraction is towards Yosano. Well, Yosano's child self at that. It's possible that the first time he felt anything remotely close to admiring or being attracted to someone is when he met Yosano. Perhaps it's because of the beauty he found on her ability, or maybe her strong personality, but the bottom line is: Yosano became the image of his idea of what love or attraction is. This is what I came up with bcos I parallel Mori to the character of Humbert Humbert in the book "Lolita" where he became attracted to minors bcos of his first love when he was 14. Maybe Mori never got out of that moment bcos he might've felt like his "love" for Yosano was cut short or that she was taken away from him, and that's why he kept Elise in that age, bcos that's how old Yosano was when she was "his". At least that's is how I see it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying or moralizing his actions. I just think that maybe Mori isn't gonna be attracted to just any child, I think he will be if they possess certain characteristics, like how H.H. likes "nymphets". I haven't read the manga though and I don't know when Mori manifested Elise, if it's before or after he met Yosano. Or if Elise's appearance has always been of a little girl. So I could be totally wrong with this and if that's the case then, never mind everything I said haha
I got asked a similar question before but it's just my fave characters and not the ones who I think is "dada-material" haha so just to be clear, aside from dada, my top 3 faves would be: Tachihara Michizou, Kenji Miyazawa and Q. So, for the top 3 characters that for me are "dada-material", it would be: Junichiro Tanizaki, Chuuya Nakahara and Oda Sakunosuke~ Bonus: Yukichi Fukuzawa. But only if you're into older men of course hehe
Thank you for your ask, anon! I had fun and I really love answering all of them~ don't be shy to ask more when you get the chance, ok? Bye bye~ ₍ᐢ. ̫.ᐢ₎
#i tried to keep my answers as short as possible bcos i could really go on and on and on for hours ;-;#angelanswers

I'm afraid of the social laziness that let Kitty Genovese die.
And I'm afraid of the mob mentality that makes otherwise normal people go blind.
Caught up with Danny early last week over Jazz Cat. It was nice.
We tried Chelo Creamery afterwards. It was good, but I think it’s more for the novelty. I found out they had taiyaki ice cream so I gotta go back to try it!
Alejandro came back to work at Sup a few months ago. He had left sometime during May/June. But now he’s left again to work at one of the sister restaurants and I was so sad! Everyone knows how much love I have for this man haha. I’ll be missing him once again :(
My wittle Jacobo turned six years old on the tenth! Sometimes him and his brother will sleep with me, which is cute but it makes my twin sized bed super cramped. The family went out to eat KBBQ to celebrate the little man’s day.
I NOW WEAR CONTACTS! Everything is so different without my glasses! I’m still trying to get use to my own face and feeling less insecure about being in public without my glasses. Which is good because I always felt like I was hiding behind them haha.
My mom, sister, and I went to eat at Quan Vy afterwards. It was next door to the optometry. I had bun bo hue and it was delicious. It’s one of the best places that makes spicy beef noodle soup.
It was Justin’s last week in SoCal so I hung out with him later in the day. We went to Grand Central Market where we had one of the best Thai meals ever at a place called Sticky Rice. That beef panang I got was definitely unforgettable! We also went to The Last Bookstore afterwards to check it out.
Work of art.
Sorry it’s a bit blurry. I like my military men and books.
The following day I met up with my cousin Ivy for breakfast and just some quality time together. Again, it was a catch up session. I haven’t seen her in ages so it was nice to hang out with her for a bit!
On Friday the 13th, I got a tattoo! It’s a cute lil sad heart. Which is super fitting since I saw Joyce Manor later on in the day with my coworker, David. They have a song called “Heart Tattoo.”
David and I watched La La Land and it fucked us up good. I wasn’t super impressed with the songs, but I really enjoyed the plot. I know it’s got mostly great reviews and those Golden Globe wins, but also some criticism here and there which I get. Nevertheless, I personally liked the film! I’m also a little bias because the director did Whiplash and I really liked that one too. I got some french fries at The Grove as a snack hence the photo.
We ate at Slurpin Ramen before the show. It’s basically a clone of Kopan Ramen. Couldn’t believe how identical the place and food was.
Yay!
I think it was my fourth time seeing them! They’re great and their fanbase is incredible too. Their pit was pretty big, I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn’t pit very much because I wanted to keep my tattoo safe, but I got to pit vicariously through David and the other people around me.
The next night, the Echoplex held a themed dance night. It was called Baby Girl and a tribute to 90′s women of R&B. It was neat. We came kinda late, but had some fun. We were disappointed that they skipped over the songs we like though. We noticed the DJs would play snippets of the songs we like, but play other songs in full. This older guy asked if him and his friend could dance with us and I immediately said no since it was GNO and also because Christina has a boyfriend haha. They ended up asking us again ten minutes before the event ended and I ignored him and Christina inadvertently ignored them haha. She thought they were gay and just wanted to dance with us, but I knew the truth!
Til next time.
