What I think when I see companies saying they want 1 year experience but no more than 2:
"We want someone already trained so we don't have to pay for that and we can underpay them because they lack experience."
#finding a job is a bitch#and now i'm seeing simple reception-ist type jobs requiring undergrad degrees#and let's not forget requiring a driver's license with clean abstract for a job that doesn't require driving#or requiring people be able to lift 50-90lbs without assistance just because#but lucky you! you get minimum wage and no benefits!#and the government branch that's in charge of worker's comp drags their feet and denies it unless it hits the media#and companies wonder why they have a hard time finding people#someone with an undergrad degree isn't going to be taking calls for less than $20/h for 'may turn into a permanent job!'#i'm also incredibly sus at companies that make new postings every few months#especially when their probation period/time when benefits kick in is the same length of time#but hey it's all a way to be able to say they can't find canadians who will work jobs#thus they *need* to hire temporary foreign workers at minimum wage with no benefits#and can also charge rent for a property they own and have several adults to a room#with the even worse companies taking visas or otherwise trapping people to work for them as they can't leave the country without help#i have zero issues with tfw#i have issues with companies fucking everyone over so they can have higher profits#and the government nods and tells them they're right because 'young' (read: <35) people are lazy and don't want to work
